I loved Star Ocean First Departure, but couldn't enjoy this game. It feels total generic, simple, and souless. I must admit they did a great remake as to artstyle and overall design. But the story is extremely boring.

I had other expectations. They could've made a really good tactics game and insteand they came out with a 5 hour game plagued by roguelike mechanics which I really hated. Face defeat once and lose most of your progress and star over. I had my fun once I got the hang of it, but I don't wanna see this game ever again. Thankfully I got it on gamepass and didn't spend a penny on it

Some nice storiew here and there but some others average too. Art and design, combat and music are excellent and it improves from the first one BUT, the high random encounter rate, and the lack of depth it gets repetitive after a few hours, especially once you unlock everyone skills.

WTF is wrong with the signing in?? Seriously 6 minutes waiting and game won't even launch... All I wanted was to have some fun kick some asses to kill some time.. jeez

Worst Bethesda game ever. After 100+ hs with Starfield, I must say I tried to like the game, but it wasn't easy. Bethesda went on a safe Si-fi approach for this game, with a simplistic bland story. The game feels shallow, generic and lifeless. Plagued with fetch quests. Only factions quests were to some extent worthy of my time, probably even more than main quests. I'm not even going to say anything about space exploration, or the horrible broken stealth in this game. Great physics, amazing graphics. But almost everything else is wrong.

Average game with very little combat, and tons of texts which is ok since the game is actually more a visual novel than an rpg. Story was nice, had potential but it felt watered down by simple narrative with so much unnecessary dialogue and whiny annoying characters which I'll soon hopefully forget. Combat was the best part. I'm not saying is terrible game, just average. I ended up skipping so much unnecessary dialogue. Final stretch was rather disappointing. If you're a Digimon fan, you'll probably gladly pay 60$ for it. Me, I don't believe it is worth it. Maybe 30$ would be much more reasonable for this.

This is the worst, dumb, simplistic and bland story I've ever played in an rpg, only the last quarter gets kinda interesting. I really forced myself to play it. Repetitive combat with tons of enemies everywhere, and once you get the full party, you realize how shallow, messy and repetitive combat is. Doing the same strategy over and over, seeing the same combat cutscenes for 50 hours. Characters speaking too much nonsense dialogue during the time you're not fighting. Simple and poor side quest design which, which in fact are merely fetch quests. Poor and lifeless cities. Rushed and disappointing ending. This has been my first Tales experience and didn't quite enjoyed it at all. Will play others anyway, can't judge an entire saga by one bad game

I can't believe SE thougth this combat would be fun. I'd never seen such an annoying combat in my entire life. Except for story and music, and art style, it failed on everything else.

El juego que se ha estado pidiendo por años, pero que de todas formas no termino siendo bien ejecutado. Las mecanicas son interesantes y renovadas aunque terminan cansando por su poca variedad jugable. Al final termina pareciendo una lista de tareas para hacer que luego de unas cuantas horas termina cansando. Las "misiones secundaras" son de lo mas simplista y lo peor del juego sin dudas. La historia me parecio de lo mas sosa y poco elaborada. Graficamente y tecnicamente debio haber sido pulido mucho mas. Es un gran paso de GameFrak por ofrecer algo renovado, pero falto mucho trabajo.

This game is a joke. This is probably the worst IA and combat design I'd ever played. Enemies just run straight to you to shoot you in the face, try to flank or run in single file to get you. Plus physics bugs like enemies bouncing off the floor for no reason. Seriously was trying to like it, since story was cool enough and airship combat was nice. But chose to delete the game after seeing like 20 enemy soldiers shooting a squadmate right in fron of him and he wouldn't die because he's just not meant to.

Great simulation, horrible handling. I know this game is meant to be played with a wheel, but I had hoped they'd done a better job for gamepad users. After many hours you can get the hang of it, only to some point, but rainy days, game is UNPLAYABLE, there's no way to control the car. AI is hard to understand, I had to constantly be adjusting the difficulty bar race after race to keep a challenge for myself. If you set difficulty at some determined number, and play every race like that.. you could win a race easily by leaving cars behind like road signs, and then lose the most horrible embarrasing way the next race..

Playing this for the first time and even today you can see how great this game is.. sound, gameplay, atmosphere.. epic!

Good enough game. The world design , graphics and the level of details are fascinating. Gameplay and mechanics are wonderful *in general*, despite some inconveniences at some points. Story/narrative is just ok and nothing more. Side missions are just tasks/chores and nothing more. And there are plenty of bugs, some are just irrelevant, but others do screw your playing session or your entire mission for good. I've had no freezes/crashes at all though. Took me 18 hours to complete the main game plus 16 side missions.

Amazing graphics, sound and game desing.. but that's all. The worst part is the poor written story, and wasted characters, both main and secondary characters, wasted all of them. Half of the game you find nothing relevant is really happening, 15 hours into it and said to myself, why I'm having the feeling this is all the same over and over? When you finally get to a point where story gets more intersting, you realize the best storyline was not wrote for the main character they've been promoting on trailers.. This is just a festival of killing of characters you never had the chance to empathize with. Plus, I got the feeling everything I went through, was all for nothing. Disappointment is not enough to express my feelings.
