Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U

Super Smash Bros. For Wii U. A little while back, I reviewed Super Smash Bros. For 3DS. I considered it a fantastic handheld title that would sell the 3DS. The Wii U version of the game is basically the same game as the 3DS, but with a lot more extra features, and HD console graphics. So, is this the game that will sell the Wii U, or are you going to have to spend your pocket money on Nintendo's next console? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game is fantastic! It is probably the most fun you could ever have with a video game. This game is a fighting game, in which you get to play as one of over 50 different famous video game characters. The characters all come from a diverse selection of video games made by Nintendo, Sega, Capcom, and Namco (mostly Nintendo). It is also a very unique fighting game, as unlike most fighting games, this game does not rely on health bars or one on one fights. In this game, the object is to knock the opponent off the screen by building up enough damage to knock them off. Also, you can have up to 8 players fighting against each other in the same match. Most fighting games also have complicated special moves that are insanely difficult to learn. Super Smash Bros. on the other hand, made it easy by making all of the characters have the exact same button combinations for all of their moves. This makes the game that much easier to just pick up and play. On top of that, this game also has multiple game modes, each one providing unique ways to play. I can't list them all here, but I will give you a rundown of as many as I can. The main game mode in Super Smash Bros. For Wii U is Smash. This mode has everything you need if you want to have a normal battle with CPUs or friends. The next game mode is called Smash Tour, in which you compete against CPUs or friends on a giant game board. Then there's Classic Mode, which is basically this game's version of Arcade Mode, which is found in most other fighting games. Finally there is All-Star Mode, in which you have to fight every character in the game. There are also loads of collectibles to unlock as you play through the game. These collectibles can be trophies, more music, and more special moves for your character. Which reminds me, another special feature of this game is the ability to create your own fighter. You can create your own version of a preexisting fighter, or you can create your own fighter out of your Mii. This is a fantastic addition to an already fantastic game. Overall, this game's gameplay is insanely fun and enjoyable for pretty much anyone. It goes so much to the point where I would have to say that the only real problem I have with it is that in some cases, it seems too much like the previous games in the series. However, the addition of new characters, stages, character customization, and new modes such as Smash Tour take care of this problem for me. As for the graphics, the game looks every bit as fantastic as it plays. Everything in this game is rendered in HD, making the game one of the most beautiful and fun games I have ever played. This game is much more colorful than any of the previous games in the series. This game has some of the best graphics I have ever seen in a video game. As for the overall presentation, as you can probably guess, the presentation of this game is also fantastic. It runs perfectly well on the Wii U. I did notice the game froze on me once, but it only lasted for a brief second, and it never happened again. The sound design and music is also very good. The composers for this game really did a great job creating the soundtrack by remixing old Nintendo themes, and creating new themes. Overall, I would have to say that this is not only the best game on the Wii U right now, it is also the best game of the entire Super Smash Bros. series. It is very easy to just pick up and play, has beautiful graphics, and a great presentation to boot. This is a game that everyone needs to play. I recommend going out and buying this along with a Wii U right now! Gameplay: 10/10 Graphics: 10/10 Presentation: 10/10 Overall: 10/10

Call of Duty: World at War

Call of Duty: World At War. Good grief! I'm reviewing yet another Call of Duty game! Just a day after I got it too! This year I finally warmed up to the Call of Duty franchise, and I actually think that it is better than Battlefield now! Of course, I have not and will not play any of the more recent Call of Duties (after MW2), because I have already heard people hate them. What about this game? This game was released after the original Modern Warfare and before Modern Warfare 2, returns to the series' original World War II setting, and has a different development team working on it. So, is this the kind of experience that will make you want to fight World War II all over again, or will this game make you tired of the WWII shooter genre? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game is about the same as the other Call of Duties that came before it. That may be a huge problem now, but when this game was released, no one cared. Basically you go through various battles in World War II as a random soldier in the war, kill as many enemies as you can, and complete various objectives along the way. What this game really succeeds in is that it makes you feel like you are actually in these battles. This game has a very intense atmosphere for each battle you take part in, and it also has infinitely respawning enemies everywhere you go to make it seem like you are in a huge battle. On paper, this seems like it would never work. However, this is Call of Duty. It has worked in the past, and here it is no exception. While the enemies don't have the best AI, the fact that they infinitely respawn makes the battles that much more interesting. The intense atmosphere also helps, as you will see many explosions and hear gunfire to make it seem like the battle is going on all around you. This game being made by a different developer from the previous Call of Duties has also changed a few things about the game. This game is much darker and more mature than the previous Call of Duties. There is a lot more gore in this game than in the previous Call of Duties, and you also get flamethrowers to burn people to death. However, it also has its zany side, with its new added **** Zombie survival mode. As fun as all of this sounds, this game is not without its flaws. For instance, there were a few times in the campaign where I died, and I had absolutely no idea what hit me. There was no clear indication of what hit me before I died, and I feel like this is something that the Infinity Ward games were good with. For another, this game's campaign is way too short. Yes, most Call of Duty campaigns are short, but this one was even shorter than the other ones. I managed to beat Infinity Ward's Call of Duties in 6 hours, while it only took me 4 hours to beat this one. However, these flaws are not enough to wear down this game completely. Overall, this game is a blast to play despite its flaws. As for the graphics, they are even better than the gameplay. This game was made on the Modern Warfare engine, which is very good at producing graphics. All of the environments in this game are rich with detail, and are pretty to look at. They are not the best graphics you could get from a game released around this time, but they are still pretty fantastic. As for the story, this story is actually more original than the previous WWII Call of Duties. For instance, there is no British campaign, and the American campaign now focuses on the war in the Pacific Ocean rather than the European front. In other words, the Americans are fighting the Japanese rather than **** Germany in this game. This is a side of the war not often shown in video games. It adds a much more unique flair to this game. As I said earlier, this game is much than the previous Call of Duties, so expect that to effect the story as much as the gameplay. The game opens right up with a torture scene for example. Other than these changes however, the game is still very much the standard Call of Duty fair. There are two separate story lines, one focuses on America fighting the ****, while the other is the stereotypical story in the World War II Call of Duties of the Soviet Russians fighting the ****. The story is still great regardless of this however. Overall, while this game is not the perfect Call of Duty, it is still a great game, and well worth your time and money. It is also more unique than most other World War II shooters, focusing on a different side of the war. I recommend this game to anyone who is looking for a more unique World War II shooter, or just another good first person shooter. Either one of these criteria would fit these people perfectly. Gameplay: 8/10 Graphics: 9/10 Story: 8/10 Overall: 8/10

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. This is a game that I was really excited to play. Having played its predecessor, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and hearing amazing things about this game, I decided to get it over the summer in 2012. Much like Oblivion, Skyrim gives you a massive fantasy world to do whatever you want, and allows you to influence it however you want. So, is this game the amazing experience I was promised, or will I have to shout this game to pieces? Let's find out! The gameplay of this game can be explained by what I said earlier: you get to live another life in a fantasy world that you can do whatever you want in, and influence however you choose. As I said, you can literally do whatever you want in this game. You can choose to help or harm the citizens of Skyrim, choose which dungeons you wish to explore, craft potions and armor, or you can just wander throughout Skyrim looking for something to do. Literally, whatever you want to do in Skyrim, you can do it. Whether you are a heroic or villainous character is all up to you. Skyrim is an RPG, so you can expect tons of role-playing game elements as you play the game. You get to create your own character from the start of the game using an amazing character creator. You can decide exactly how your character will look from a variety of options, and it is very simple and easy to use. After you play through the game's first quest, you are free to do what you want in Skyrim. You can play however you choose, whether it be aggressive, magic-based, or stealthy. As you use your character's skills enough times in the game, they will increase in level. Once you level up your skills enough, your overall level will increase. This allows you to increase your character's health, magic, or stamina (once again, this is totally your choice as to which you increase), by ten points. You also get a perk, which you can distribute to one of your skills, that will give it an additional ability. The leveling system is very addictive to say the least, and will probably keep you playing for hours on end. There are also tons of quests to do in Skyrim, further adding to the replay value. Overall, the gameplay in this game is just about the most fun you could possibly have in a video game. As for the graphics, they are every bit as amazing as the gameplay itself. This game boasts a much better graphics engine than Oblivion, and it shows. Everything in Skyrim is decorated with an incredible amount of detail, and makes the game look every bit as good as it plays. From the flora and fauna in the forests of Skyrim, to the cities and towns, to the many dungeons and dragons in the game, this game looks amazing. It also boasts an incredible day and night cycle, along with a weather system, further adding to the game's beauty. As for the story, this game actually has many stories in one. It all depends on what you are looking for. You could always follow a quest's storyline, or you could create a story of your own. This game does have a main quest, in which you are the chosen one, and you must find out why dragons are returning to the world of man. On top of that, you must kill a giant black dragon named Alduin, who's primary goal is to destroy the world. It is a bit of a cliched story, but the way it is told is very original. You will understand why when you play it. There are also factions you can join which have their own stories. Those stories are generally just you joining a faction and doing missions for them until their leader is killed and you rise to become the new leader. However, the way these stories are told is also original. There are also plenty more different kinds of quests in this game, or you can just wander throughout Skyrim, creating your own story for your character. You don't even have to do these quests if you don't want to. Overall, no matter what you decide to do for your character's stories, this game will be amazing either way. Overall, this game was, and still is one of the greatest video games I have ever played. If you do not own this game, you need to get it now. I can easily recommend this game to just about anyone who wants to play a video game. If you do not own this game, you must buy it now! Also, be sure to get the Legendary Edition of this game. That version includes this game, plus all of its DLC (downloadable content). Gameplay: 10/10 Graphics: 10/10 Story: 10/10 Overall: 10/10

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. A little while back, I reviewed this game's prequel (Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare), which I hated at first, but then loved the next time I played it. It was an insanely fun action game that must be experienced, in particular for its single player. Its multiplayer was good too, but I couldn't help but feel like it was missing something. Eventually, I decided that I wanted to play its sequel, so I downloaded it off of Steam this weekend. So, does this game improve upon its predecessor enough to make me love it, or is Call of Duty 4 really the last good Call of Duty? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game is very similar to its predecessor. It is a first-person shooter that has both single player and multiplayer modes of play. There is also a cooperative gameplay mode this time around, but most of the missions in it are the same as those of the single player, just with one extra player. In Call of Duty 4, I preferred the single player over the multiplayer. I went back to play missions from the single player in Call of Duty 4 more times than I can count. This time however, it is the exact opposite. Here, I prefer the multiplayer over the single player. The single player in this game is a continuation that picks up five years after the events of the previous game, and it is insanely fun to play through, like just about all of the early Call of Duty campaigns. However, there are two major problems that hold this game's campaign back. For one thing, the campaign is once again too short. I completed it in only five hours. Another problem with this game's campaign is that its story is terrible. It is so convoluted and hard to follow, that I am always confused as to what is happening. That did not stop me from loving the campaign from start to finish, but that was only because it was insanely fun to play through, and not because of the story. As for the multiplayer, I feel like this is where all of the effort in making this game an amazing game went into. The multiplayer of this game is actually better than the single player this time around. Not only is this game's multiplayer better than Call of Duty 4's in every way, it is one of the best multiplayer games I have ever played. It really is that good. After playing this game's multiplayer enough, I finally realized what Call of Duty 4 was missing in its multiplayer. There were not enough different kill streak rewards, perks, weapons, and other features. To tell you the truth, after playing this game's multiplayer, I honestly felt like Call of Duty 4's multiplayer was just a beta version of this. This game's multiplayer is much more fleshed out, and it also added Capture the Flag, the one mode that I felt was missing from Call of Duty 4. Overall, the single player of this game may not be as good as Call of Duty 4's, but the multiplayer more than makes up for this. This game is worth playing for its multiplayer alone. As for the graphics, this game also looks fantastic. They are not the best graphics I have ever seen in a video game, but they do look very good nonetheless. This game pushes its engine to the limits of its graphical potential. All of the environments and character models are rich with detail and very pretty to look at. Overall, this game's graphics are every bit as awesome as its gameplay. This game also has really good presentation. On a high-end gaming PC, this game could look fantastic. However, there are some troubles with the endlessly respawning enemies in single player. I have never really had a problem with these in the past, however, this time I can't help but feel like there are too many. I honestly have had a lot of trouble dealing with this many enemies coming at me at once, and I did not have this trouble in any of the previous Call of Duties. However, this is just a minor complaint compared to how good the single player really is. Overall, this game has excellent presentation. Overall, this is a fantastic game, especially for multiplayer. What most people are wondering is if this game is better than the original Modern Warfare. I would say yes for the multiplayer, but no for the single player. The single player of this game is still really enjoyable, but not as enjoyable as the previous game's. I recommend this game especially to those who love a good first person shooter, action game, or multiplayer game. Gameplay: 9/10 Graphics: 9/10 Presentation: 8/10 Overall: 9/10

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. This is a game that I wasn't so sure if I should get. For one thing, it was made by Nintendo, a developer that I have not really looked to for games in a long time. I have mostly been on Steam as of late, and I don't really play Nintendo games anymore. Also, I was nervous because this is the first Super Smash Bros. to be released on the 3DS. The franchise has always been a console game, and I thought bringing it to a handheld might hurt the franchise. So, does this game do a handheld Smash Bros. better than I had hoped, or does it make me never want to see another handheld Super Smash Bros.? Let's find out. This game plays very much like all of the other games in the Super Smash Bros. series. It is a fighting game about hitting your opponents to make their percentage go up. The higher the percentage, the better chance you have of knocking them off the screen. To win you have to either get enough K.O.s to rack up the most points before time runs out, or K.O. everyone until you are the last man standing, depending on which mode you play. This game does not change the formula very much from the previous Smash Bros. games, but it does add a lot of new things to keep it interesting. For one thing, there are tons of new characters and stages. One thing this series is well known for is combining several video game characters from different video games (mostly Nintendo), into one game. Series mainstays such as Mario and Link are still here, and their moves are basically unchanged from the previous games. However, a lot of other characters that have been in the previous games have changed. For example, Bowser is now much faster than he was in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. There are also tons of new characters, including Little Mac, Lucina, and Rosalina and Luma. This game also adds a few characters from non-Nintendo franchises such as Mega Man and Pac-Man. Each of these characters has their own move set, and work with the same button combinations. This makes Super Smash Bros. a much less complicated fighting game than most other games in the genre, and very easy to just pick up and play. However, this is just the core gameplay of Super Smash Bros. The 3DS version also has several more really fun modes of play. Some have returned from previous iterations of the series, while others are brand new. In terms of overall gameplay, I really don't have much to complain about. This game is insanely fun to play, and very enjoyable. It is especially fun in multiplayer. It is probably the most fun you will have with a video game this year. As for the graphics, while they are fantastic, I'm afraid I can't say they are the best on the 3DS. I still prefer the look of Super Mario 3D Land over this game. However, that's not to say the graphics are bad. In fact, the graphics of this game are actually quite good. They are definitely some of the best on the 3DS. Everything in this game is rich with detail and is beautiful to the eye. In fact, it almost gets to the point that I was wondering if I was looking at a handheld or a console. I was surprised by this, as I thought for sure the graphics would suffer greatly on the 3DS. The graphics of this game are fantastic, but they are not the best the 3DS has to offer. This game also has great presentation. This game has many fun modes of play, and is super-addictive. It also adds the new feature of character customization, allowing you to create your own character. However, one thing that I was somewhat disappointed by was that although it retains all of the modes that make Super Smash Bros. fun, it also lacks several modes found in the previous Super Smash Bros. that I enjoyed. Coin battles are now gone from the game completely. While no one really played coin battles, it was an interesting battle mode, and I wish it could be brought back. There is also no adventure mode, which has been replaced by the new Smash Run mode. There is also a lot less content in this Smash Bros. For example, Super Smash Bros. Brawl had many more pieces of music. While this is a little disappointing, it does not detract from the overall experience. Overall, this game is fantastic. It really got me back into the 3DS, and it actually makes me want a Wii U (this game is also coming out for the Wii U). This is a game that anyone who has a 3DS should play. If you do not have this game on your 3DS, you need to do yourself a favor, and buy it now! Gameplay: 10/10 Graphics: 9/10 Presentation: 8/10 Overall: 9/10

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor. Unlike Borderlands 2, I actually managed to finish this game's story before I reviewed it. This game has a much shorter story than Borderlands 2, and was therefore much easier to finish. Anyways, ever since this game was announced I was crazy excited to play it. I am a gigantic Lord of the Rings fan, and the movie franchise is my favorite movie trilogy of all time. So when this game was announced, I jumped out of my seat in excitement. Now that I finally got my hands on the final product, I can finally review it. So, is this game the definitive Lord of the Rings game that the fans have been waiting for, or is this the kind of game that they would want to cast into the fire along with the one ring to rule them all? Let's find out. All I can say about this game's gameplay is this: it is insanely fun and addictive. You can approach this game in three different ways: you can be stealthy, using your dagger to pick off enemies without anyone noticing, you can attack from long range with your bow and arrow, or you can go up close and personal, and just attack everything with your sword. I heard this game was greatly influenced by the Assassin's Creed series, which made me nervous, as I reviewed two Assassin's Creed games a while back, and I thought that they were the most overrated games I have ever played. However, my concerns were put to rest when I finally played the game and I realized the game also had influence from another game series: Batman Arkham. I love the Arkham games (except for Arkham Origins), and I was very happy to see that this game had Arkham's fast and furious free-flowing combat was put into this game instead of Assassin's Creed's clunky and boring combat, which made me feel right at home with it. This made the game that much more fun than it already was. However, what really makes this game fun is its nemesis system. The nemesis system is a very complex A.I. system implemented into this game, that creates a living breathing Uruk (Orc) society in the game. It also gives the orcs you fight different personalities. Here's how it works: every time an Uruk does something great, they are promoted higher up in the ranks of the Orc society, becoming a captain. Captains are essentially more powerful versions of normal Uruks. These captains have their own unique personalities, as well as strengths and weaknesses. For example, a coward might retreat to fight another day, and a loyal captain might defend their master to the death. It gets even better late in the game when the game's main character gains the ability to mind-control Orcs, allowing him to have his own Orc armies. This system allows the player to create their own unique villains and stories. This is what makes the gameplay so addictive and fun. Along with this, there are also story missions, as well as weapon legend and free the slave missions. All of these missions are every bit as fun as the Orc society missions, and they only make the gameplay better than it already is. Overall, this game's gameplay is fantastic, and should be played for this reason alone. As for the graphics, they are every bit as fantastic as the gameplay. Everything in this game is rich with detail and beautiful to look at, from the vast open expanses of Mordor, to the different Orc strongholds you can raid, to the deep dark caves you can explore. The graphics of this game are fantastic, no matter which way you look at them. As for the story, it is also fantastic, but not quite as good as the gameplay and graphics. It is set after the Hobbit but before Lord of the Rings. You play as a ranger named Talion (a ranger is basically what Aragorn is in the films), who is killed by agents of Sauron, but is cheated from death by a wraith of an elf named Celebrimbor, who is the one who created the rings of power. The only familiar Lord of the Rings character you will come across throughout this game is Gollum. The rest are either mentioned, or not in the game at all. Despite this however, the plot is still very good, and will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. Overall, this is a fantastic game that should not be overlooked, not just by Lord of the Rings fans, but by anyone. It is insanely fun, has beautiful graphics, and a gripping story. Also, I love this game's nemesis system, and I would love to see other games utilize it in the future. This is a game everyone should play. I recommend that if you have Steam, just buy it now! Borderlands 2. This game is a very unique case for me. I haven't even finished the game's story yet, and I'm already doing a review for it. Normally, I like to finish a game's story before I review it, but just this once,I decided not to because I felt like I had played enough of the game to review it. So, is this game a unique enough experience without a story, or does a game really need a story to be amazing? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game is utterly unique. It is a first-person shooter with RPG elements from the Diablo series. I was not a huge fan of Diablo (there, I said it, come at me Blizzard fanboys) when I played it, so I was not so sure what to expect when I decided to try this game. After trying it, I can safely say that my concerns were put to rest. I had a much more fun experience with this game then Diablo II ever gave me. It does have many elements of Diablo. There is tons of loot to pick up, multiple characters to play as, each with a different play-style, and your character can level up and unlock new abilities. However, this game has many more elements of a first-person shooter that make it a much more unique experience. Let me just start by saying unlike Diablo, you don't have to click everything on screen just to make your character do things. This was one of my biggest problems with Diablo. Because you could not use the mouse and keyboard, you had to click everywhere just to do things, which just made the game more confusing, and way too fast. However, Borderlands 2 plays just like your average first-person shooter. It's not overhead view like Diablo. I'm happy Gearbox Software went with this direction, because it gave me a more familiar gameplay mechanic than just clicking. This game is definitely more of a shooter than any other RPG I've played, as shown in the game's fast, furious, and fun combat. There are also several quests for you to do throughout the game, which is why I haven't completed the story yet. These quests are all very fun and unique. They all have you accomplishing objectives for certain characters. I think that my only problem with the gameplay would be that when you die, you just respawn at a checkpoint. While this is okay, one thing that annoys me is that any enemy you hit before you die will regenerate all of his health when you get back to the room you were killed. While this can be annoying, it is not annoying enough to make you stop playing the game. Overall, this game's gameplay is insanely fun, and anyone who plays this game will most likely have a fun time with it. As for the graphics, they are every bit as unique as the gameplay. The graphics of this game are cell-shaded, sort of like a comic book. The game looks far more unique than any other game I have played. However, the question is, do these graphics work? The answer is yes. This game has many cartoony elements in it, such as the humorous writing throughout the game's story and missions, and these graphics fit in with it perfectly. My only problem with these graphics is that there is a lot of texture pop-in. While this is not a huge issue, almost every other developer who has used the Unreal Engine has either found a way to get rid of this pop-in, or made it not get in the way. It gets in the way here, which can be annoying, but still doesn't distract from the whole experience. Overall, this game has great graphics regardless. As for the story, while I haven't played through the whole game yet, I can tell you what I have played. The story is that you are a Vault-Hunter, and you must stop a man named Handsome Jack from destroying the world of Pandora. Problem Number 1 is that they picked the most cliched story in the book, I know, but even so, they still manage to make it unique here. They made it unique through the aforementioned humorous writing in the game's story. This game has a really good sense of humor, and the writers like to show it anywhere they can. Expect lots of good jokes throughout this game. It also has a lot of memorable characters. Overall, this game's story is really cliched, but still great. Overall, this is a game that must be played. It successfully combines the first-person shooter and RPG genres. I can safely say that I like this game one heck of a lot more than the Diablo franchise (once again, come at me Blizzard fanboys). I recommend this game to anyone who loves a good shooter or RPG, or even a good video game in general. Gameplay: 10/10 Graphics: 9/10 Story: 8/10 Overall: 9/10

Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition. This game is the first Mortal Kombat game I have ever played. Before playing this, I watched several videos of the series just to see what it was really like. Mostly, I just watched the videos that the series is famous for: the fatalities. This game is very well known for its finishing moves that allow you to murder your opponent in the most brutal way possible. However, after playing this game, I realized there was so much more to this series than just that. So, is this game the super-gory extravaganza the fans were hoping for, or is this more deserving of a teen rating than the previous entry in the series Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe? Let's find out. Let me just start by saying that the gameplay of this game is just brutal (in a good way). This game is an uber-violent fighting game that allows you to pick a character and brawl. It plays like a classic 2D fighter, just like Street Fighter, or heck, even the earliest entries into this series. This game is actually supposed to be a reboot of the franchise, going back to its 2D roots. All I can say about this reboot based on what I have played is this: it is an undeniable success! This game has some of the best 2D fighting I have ever played, right up there with Super Smash Bros.! The fighting is fast, furious, and fun for anyone to pick up and play. There are also several different modes. There's story mode, where you play as several different fighters in a massive story line, which I will talk about in a moment. There's also arcade mode, which plays like just about any other arcade fighting game. You pick your favorite character, and take him through ten in a row, ending with three boss battles! There's also a training mode, which allows you to just brawl endlessly with your favorite characters, as well as train and learn new techniques. Finally there's a challenge tower, in which you have to fight your opponent, while completing specific objectives. There are also several different mini-games to play. Of course, since this is a fighting game, it has to have multiplayer, and it does not disappoint. There are several different modes to play online with friends, including King of the Hill and online versus. Another cool feature of this game is that it has added tag team fighting, which allows you to pick two characters to fight together. There are also several collectibles to collect in this game, which you unlock either through normal means, or through the krypt, which allows you to purchase them with in-game currency you get for fighting. Overall, the gameplay is fantastic. Every character feels different, and plays differently. My only real complaint with the gameplay is that its difficulty might turn off some casual gamers. Even on beginner difficulty this game is extremely difficult. It is tough, but fair. As for the graphics, this game has to have the best graphics I have ever seen in a fighting game. Everything in this game is rich with detail, from the characters to the backgrounds. It literally looks better than any other fighting game I have ever played. It uses the Unreal Engine to its maximum potential, which I am very grateful for. It may not look as good as Mass Effect 2, but it still looks fantastic nonetheless. As for the story, it is hands down the best story I have ever seen in a fighting game. The game's story is told through the game's story mode. It starts out during the events of the preceding Mortal Kombat game, MK: Armageddon. The god Raiden is about to be killed by Shao Khan, the story's main villain. Just before his death, he looked into his **** amulet and uttered the words "He must win!" into it. This vision of the future was passed down to his younger self, who must find out the meaning of the words. What follows is a retelling of the first three Mortal Kombat games (it is a reboot after all), and it is told extremely well. It is a little confusing at times, and stories of video game have been told better. Overall though, the story is fantastic, and should not be overlooked in favor of this game's other modes. Overall, if you are a fighting game fan, there is no excuse not to own this game. It is absolutely fantastic. There are a few minor flaws with this game, but they are easily forgotten about once you realize how awesome this game really is. Gameplay: 9/10 Graphics: 10/10 Story: 9/10 Overall: 9/10

Injustice: Gods Among Us-Ultimate Edition. A little while back, I played the original version of Injustice: Gods Among Us on my Xbox 360 (without the DLC). I thought it was a really good fighting game, but I wished I could get the DLC. I couldn't get it at the time because I did not have Xbox Live. However, when I found out that this edition of the game was coming out on the PC with all of the DLC, I knew that I just had to get it sometime. Eventually, the Warner Bros. sale happened on Steam, and a few days ago I bought the game. So, is this edition the definitive edition of the fighting game I loved on the 360? Or is this game a block of Kryptonite? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game is about the same as any other fighting game. You choose your character, then your opponent, then a stage, and then duke it out with your opponent. However, there are several things added to this game that differentiate it from other fighters. For one, the characters in this game are all famous DC Comics characters such as Superman and Batman. This is really good, as it allows fans to duke it out with each other as their favorite characters. You can also interact with the environment around you as you fight, allowing you to damage your opponent by using different parts of the stage as weapons, slamming them into an object in the back of the stage, or even knocking them into the background, forcing the stage to switch to another part of itself. Other than these two features however, this fighting game is very much like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter. There are also several different modes to this game. There is a battle mode, which allows you to take your characters into several arcade fighting game style battles, single fight, which is just a mode that allows you to play single fights as as your favorite characters, and a training mode, which allows you to hone your skills in a mode where you cannot die. There is also a mode called S.T.A.R. Labs, which allows you to take on specific challenges with all of the characters in the game. There is also a story mode, which I will get to later. Of course, because this is a fighting game, there is definitely online play. This game supports multiplayer, and has several more modes in it. Multiplayer works great, however, I did notice some lag in this game, which I was not too happy about. Another problem with the gameplay could be that the special moves are a little complicated. They aren't as complicated as they were in Mortal Kombat 9, however, this might still turn off some casual gamers. Still though, I have found that it is very hard not to have fun with this game. Also, this game comes with all of the DLC characters and costumes, which only make this version of the game better. Despite certain issues with lag, and difficult to execute moves, this game's gameplay is insanely fun. As for the graphics, they're every bit as good as the gameplay. This game has very beautiful graphics that use the Unreal Engine to the fullest. The environments and characters are both rich with detail, as well as pretty to look at. However, while the graphics look excellent for an Unreal Engine game, there are still a few textures that I believe don't look good enough. They do still look good, don't get me wrong. However, some textures don't look quite detailed enough, and I have seen a few Unreal Engine games that came out before this one that still look better *cough* Mass Effect Trilogy *cough*. That's not to say they are bad however. The graphics of this game are great, despite a few missteps. As for this game's story, I have to say that it is one of the best stories I have ever heard in a fighting game, if not the best. It starts with the Joker blowing up Superman's home city of Metropolis, which makes Superman angry enough to kill the Joker, stop being a hero, and become the Earth's evil dictator, and Batman is the only hero left that still opposes him. I won't spoil the rest of the story for you, but let's just say that the story is very well written and acted. It also really pays off in the end. The story of this game is fantastic, but could still be told better. Overall, if you are a DC comics fan, or even a fighting game fan, there is no reason not to have this game. If you were turned off by the high difficulty of Mortal Kombat 9, then you might want to try Injustice, as it is a lot easier, and appeals more to casual fighting game fans, despite having some difficult moves. Left 4 Dead 2. This is a game made by Valve. The same company that brought us such great games as Counter-Strike and Team Fortress 2. I reviewed those games a while ago, and I thought both were fantastic. They were both insanely fun multiplayer games that you could play over and over, and they wouldn't get old. With Left 4 Dead 2, Valve tries something different. Where Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike were multiplayer shooters that allow you to battle your friends across the internet, this game is a cooperative multiplayer game that allows you to team up with your friends to battle zombies. So, is this the kind of game that will bite your money, or will it want to bite you instead? Let's find out. As I said, this game is a cooperative shooter that allows you to team up with your friends and battle zombies. There are several campaigns to choose from, all with the same premise: you start out in a safe zone with your partners, and have to move from safe room to safe room until you are rescued. Along the way, you and your friends will have to fight massive hordes of the undead together. This would be boring if normal infected zombies were the only zombies you had to worry about. However, this game also has other kinds of zombies, known as special infected. These kinds of zombies add a twist to the game, that can make fighting zombies much more interesting. There are overweight zombies called boomers that vomit on you, attracting normal zombies, spitters that spit acid at you, witches that scream and pounce for a one hit kill if disturbed, and tanks that are practically the Hulk of zombies just to name a few. Not only do these special infected make fighting zombies much more interesting, but they also add new cooperative elements to the game. Certain special infected might pounce on your character, which makes it necessary for partners to save you for example. This game plays very much like any other shooter, only with cooperative elements. You really need to care for your partners in this game, because without them, this game would be practically impossible to play through. You need to give them first aid, certain ammo types, and revive them if they are injured. All this is very fun, and can lead to crazy moments with you and your friends. Along with the normal campaign mode, there are many more modes, such as versus, where you get to play as the special infected and kill the survivors, or survival, where you just survive for as long as you can. The gameplay of this game is fantastic, regardless of what game mode you are playing. As for the graphics, they are every bit as fantastic as the gameplay. Everything is rich with detail, and very colorful. The zombies look about as zombified as you would want them to look. All of the buildings and streets that you run around on also look fantastic. Even the characters and weapons look really good. This is definitely one of the best looking Source Engine games that has ever been made. The game also presents itself very well. The entire game feels like a zombie action movie where you're the star. This is shown through the movie posters used for the campaign, and the end credits sequences that play after you are rescued. There is also a story to this game, but it kind of takes a back-seat to the fantastic gameplay and graphics. Basically, a virus called the green flu has spread across the east coast of the United States, turning people into zombies. You and your co-op partners are all immune to this virus, and must get to safety. This game's survivors are also very memorable, with each having their own back-story, and making jokes every now and then. The campaigns also branch into each other, with each one showing what happens after the survivors escape from the zombies in the previous campaign, only to crash and be stuck in the next campaign, having to do everything they did in the previous campaign all over again. While the story takes a back-seat to the gameplay and graphics, this is the same approach Valve took with Team Fortress 2, so I'm not really complaining here. The only real problem with this game is that the single player AI is terrible. Yes, you can play in single player, but the AI of your partners is bad. There are mods available that can fix this however. Other than that, This game's presentation is really good. Overall, this is a fantastic game that absolutely must be played, especially if you have friends around. It can be hard to play alone, but if you use an advanced bots mod for the game it should work fine. I highly recommend playing this game if you like to play with friends, or if you just like to shoot zombies, or heck, even if you just like first-person shooters you will probably love this game! I can't recommend this game enough! Gameplay: 10/10 Graphics: 10/10 Presentation: 9/10 Overall: 10/10

Mass Effect 3. This is a game that I have heard non-stop controversy over. Most people say that this game has one of the worst endings to a video game ever. Some say that it is so bad, that it ruined the entire series. I don't believe this is true however. I played the first two Mass Effect games before I played this one, and I thought they were both absolutely fantastic games. Nothing will ever change my opinion on both of those games, not even if the series completely jumps the shark. As for this game, many of you are probably wondering my opinion on it. So, is this the fantastic conclusion to Commander Shepard's story we were all hoping for, or is the ending enough to ruin the entire series? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game is very much like the other two Mass Effect games that came before it. It is an action RPG that has third-person shooter elements. This game is every bit as fun as Mass Effect 1 and 2 before it. It also adds a few improvements this time around. For instance, the omni-tool can now be used as a blade for close range combat. While you probably won't find much use for it, seeing as how most enemies must be engaged from mid to long range, it can be useful for occasional stealth attacks and one-hit-kills. Also, the game's combat is now more of a mixture between Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2. It definitely takes more elements from the latter rather than the former, but grenades are now back instead of grenade launchers. Medi-gel also now works in a similar way as it did in Mass Effect 1. It is now used to restore your health as well as your squad-mates'. The game is also pretty fun outside of combat. Outside of combat, you have to talk to people and aliens in order to go on more quests in the game. The dialogue wheel from the first two Mass Effects returns here, and it is every bit as good as it was in the first two games. The only real problem I have with this game's gameplay is that there are occasional bugs and glitches that I feel like they should have fixed before release. Some of the bugs are game-breaking, but they don't occur often enough to make them feel like a big problem. Despite occasional bugs, the gameplay is still every bit as good as it was in Mass Effect 1 and 2. If you enjoyed both of the previous two games for their tight gameplay, you'll feel right at home with this game. Anyone who didn't enjoy the gameplay will likely have to look elsewhere, as the gameplay hasn't evolved too much over Mass Effect 2, despite having a couple of additions to it. As for the graphics, this is one thing that this game definitely does better over both of its predecessors. The graphics now look sharper and more realistic than they ever did in the first two Mass Effect games. Everything in this game is very beautiful to look at, and worth experiencing for this reason alone. While it is not a huge improvement over Mass Effect 2, it is definitely an improvement. As for the story, this is the part that everyone seems to hate, all because of how it ends. I'm not going to spoil the ending here, however, I will say this: the ending really is not enough to ruin the entire game, or any of the other games in the franchise before it. Yes, the ending of this game could have been better, but hey, let's be honest, it also could have been a lot worse. The story of this game is still fantastic, despite having a not so great ending. The story continues on after the events of Mass Effect 2, showing that the Reapers have now invaded the Milky Way, and their first target is Earth. You will spend the rest of the game as Commander Shepard, getting together a squad, along with the entire galaxy to fight the Reaper threat. Many plot points from Mass Effect 2 reach their conclusion in this game. Also, Mass Effect 3 has the same good and evil decisions to make as in the first two games. Since this story is every bit as good as its predecessors, the ending aside, I don't think it's fair for people to hate this game simply because the ending was terrible. Overall, I love this game. Hate me all you want, but I think this game is the second best Mass Effect game. Mass Effect 2 is still better than this, but Mass Effect 3 is still better than Mass Effect 1. The ending to this game is really the only downside to it. Gameplay: 10/10 Graphics: 10/10 Story: 9/10 Overall: 10/10

Depression Quest. This is a game...wait a minute, this isn't a game!!! This is an interactive story! You know, it's funny, just a few weeks ago, I reviewed a game that nobody has heard of on the Nintendo DS. It was called Marvel Super Hero Squad. I thought it was the worst game I have ever played, and I still urge you not to play it (see my review of that game for more details). However, after playing this...thing (let's be honest, it really isn't even a game) all I can say about Marvel Super Hero Squad is this: all is forgiven! If you can comprehend this, this thing is even worse than Marvel Super Hero Squad! This thing was released on Steam, and it is free, however, that's actually a problem with this thing because you don't even need to download it off of Steam to play! Whoever thought it would be a good idea to release an already free browser based thing on Steam for free must be dumber than a sack of hammers, and that's being polite. That's right, you don't even need to download this thing off of Steam to play it! You can literally just go on the internet and Google it, and the first thing that appears should be this very thing! That's exactly what I did the moment I found out this got on Steam. I had actually heard of this thing before its Steam release, and believe it or not, I wasn't even sure it was real before I found out it was released on Steam. So I looked it up on the internet as soon as I found out it was real! Sure enough this thing was on the internet, not as a Steam release, but as a fully released free browser based thing! I played that version instead of the Steam version, and if this version is anything like the Steam version, then I absolutely refuse to touch the Steam version! So, why does this thing make you depressed after playing it rather than with its story? Let's find out. The gameplay of this thing...there isn't any! I kid you not! There is literally no gameplay in this thing at all! The closest thing you get to actual gameplay in this thing are little choices you get to make that affect how the story plays out! That's all there really is to this thing's gameplay, as there is literally nothing else to do, other than read this thing's so-called story! If you think that is fun, then something must be terribly wrong. There is absolutely no fun to be had in a thing based on depression! Yes, games with depressing atmospheres can be awesome, but not when depression is the center-piece of the whole thing! Heck, Metal Gear Solid 4, Mother 3 (for those in the U.S. that have played it somehow), Half-Life 2, and BioShock 1 all had depressing atmospheres that made you feel like all hope was lost, and yet, all four games still manage to be four of the greatest video games ever made! In fact, in those cases, the depressing atmosphere actually helped the games greatly. It gave you a reason to keep playing the games (all those games being insanely fun also helps)! Here, depression is the center-piece of the whole thing, and it just isn't any fun at all. The gameplay of this thing is about as bad as it gets, because believe it or not, there isn't any! As for the graphics, there aren't any of those either! The closest thing you get to graphics are little pictures that appear above certain parts of the story. However, those pictures are so blurry that sometimes you can't even make out what is in the picture! That, and there is nothing too depressing about these pictures, there is literally no point to them! They are literally just there to "enhance" this thing's so called story! I put enhance in quotation marks, because the story is all there is to this thing, and it is absolutely terrible! When I say the story is the best part of this thing, that really isn't a compliment, because even it still manages to be terrible. The funny thing is, the only compliment I can give to this thing over its story is "It may not have gameplay and graphics, but at least it has a story!". That's it, the only good thing I can say about this thing's story is that at least this thing has a story! However, the story ****. The author claims to know something about depression, but really, the only thing about this thing that I think is depressing besides how bad it is, is its music. The music is the only really depressing thing about this thing, so he has completely failed! It's also not the most depressing soundtrack I have ever heard, so there is literally nothing this thing does right. It's things like this that make me ask, why was it released on Steam? It is just so terrible. Nobody wants to play through something this depressing (that is, if you don't die of boredom first). There are so many more bad things I can say, but I have just about reached the character limit, so I won't. Take my advice, and just don't play this thing, no matter what! BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea - Episode One. This game is a DLC, for the first game that I ever reviewed: BioShock Infinite. For those of you who don't know what this means, this basically means you cannot play this game without getting BioShock Infinite first. As for BioShock Infinite itself, I thought it was a fantastic game, and more than worth purchasing for any gamer (see my review of the game for more details). As for this game/DLC, does it measure up to the fantastic feats of the main game, or are the clouds of Columbia better than the oceans of Rapture after all? Let's find out. The gameplay of this DLC is very much the same as BioShock Infinite. You play as a man named Booker DeWitt, and must fight alongside Elizabeth in a fantastic first-person shooter experience. As I said, as a shooter, this DLC is fantastic. It retains all of the same gameplay that made the original game so enjoyable. The controls are about the same as any other PC based shooter, and it adds a few extras. There are numerous weapons to choose from, and you also get super powers called vigors, that add a unique touch to the game's gameplay. Once again though, this is the exact same gameplay as BioShock Infinite. This is both a good thing and a bad thing. If you enjoyed BioShock Infinite, which you most likely did, there is definitely fun to be had with this DLC. If you didn't however, this DLC is most likely not for you, as it does nothing to change the gameplay at all. Sure there is a new freeze vigor to play with, but that's the only real thing they added. The other problem I had with this DLC is that it is way too short. I managed to beat it in just a little over an hour. Despite the short length however, when you get down to it, the DLC is just more of the same game, and that is exactly what I am a fan of. This DLC is really fun for people who enjoyed the main game, but if you didn't like BioShock Infinite because of its gameplay, you won't find many redeeming qualities here. As for the graphics, they are also more of the same. While the graphics don't enhance the main game in any way, they are still every bit as pretty to look at as the main game. Plus the game's return to BioShock's original setting of Rapture allows for many more unique visuals than the main game. Once again however, if you enjoyed BioShock Infinite's graphics, then this DLC is definitely for you. If you did not, then you will probably have to look someplace else. This DLC also boasts the graphics of its main game, but if you didn't happen to like those graphics, then this is most likely not for you. As for the story, let me just start by saying that it's complicated, and you should definitely play the main game first before moving on to play this one. The reason why is: this DLC takes place right where the original game leaves off. In other words, playing this DLC first would both spoil everything that happened at the end of the original game, and be too confusing to even try to follow, which is most likely why it was DLC. The story of this DLC is that Booker DeWitt and Elizabeth have to rescue a girl named Sally from the city of Rapture. The story is pretty good overall, except for one thing: this DLC is just over an hour long! It feels like it is developing into something just as it ends so abruptly. That's not to say the story is bad, it's just that it is too short to really develop into anything. Despite having a really abrupt ending, this DLC still has a great story. Overall, this DLC is worth buying if you really enjoyed BioShock Infinite. I recommend this game to anyone who has played the original game and loved it. If you didn't like this game however, this DLC is just more of the same game, and definitely not worth purchasing. Gameplay: 8/10 Graphics: 9/10 Story: 8/10 Overall: 8/10

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. A little while back, I reviewed the other Far Cry games in the series. I reviewed Far Cry 2, which I thought was underrated, and Far Cry 3, which I think is one of the greatest first-person shooters I've ever played. Now that this DLC/stand-alone expansion is out for the game, I decided to get this game off of Steam and play it. It is supposed to be different from the Far Cry games, taking the setting from a modern day tropical island, (or in Far Cry 2's case, Africa) into the 1980's vision of the future, in an alternate 2007. So, does this game perfectly represent the 80's vision of the future, or should the Far Cry series have just stuck with modern tropical islands as its settings? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game is very similar to that of Far Cry 3's. You have an open world to explore with first-person shooter and stealth elements mixed in. This time, instead of playing as an adult named Jason Brody, you are playing as a cyber-soldier named Rex Colt, which gives you the perks of being one. Leveling is now automatic, meaning you can no longer choose your skills when you level up. The skills you learn are determined by what level you are on. While this change can be welcoming for those who don't like having to choose which perks they want, I did somewhat miss Far Cry 3's approach to perks, as I enjoy choosing the perks I want. I prefer choosing perks than having them be chosen automatically by level. While this change is not entirely welcoming, the gameplay is still every bit as fun and exciting as Far Cry 3's. You can approach missions however you want, and do everything any way you want. This is a good thing, however, it is also a bad thing, as this gameplay is very much the same as Far Cry 3's. The normal Far Cry 3 has the exact same gameplay as this expansion, but more of it. The campaign of this game is way too short at only seven missions total, where Far Cry 3 has over 30. That's not to say the campaign isn't fun, because it is. In fact its campaign has many moments that are much more fun than Far Cry 3's at times. This game does add a few new features, such as using Blood Dragons, which are brand new creatures added to this game, to attack enemy outposts. However, when you decide not to use them, this game will just be more Far Cry 3, which can once again be both good and bad. The gameplay of this game is every bit as fun as Far Cry 3, but it in no way surpasses the gameplay of the predecessor. As for the graphics, I have to say, this game's graphics are among the most creative and beautiful I have ever seen in a video game. Since this game represents what people on the 1980's thought the future would hold for them, there are neon lights everywhere, the sky is dark red throughout most of the game, and all of the characters are textured in a more unique fashion than Far Cry 3. This is one area where Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon might actually surpass Far Cry 3. As excellent as Far Cry 3's graphics were, they definitely weren't nearly as creative as this game's. The graphics of this game are very beautiful and creative, just how a video game should be. As for the story, while not quite as good as Far Cry 3's, it is still very creative. It tells the story of how Rex Colt saved the world from Sloan and his Blood Dragons. Along the way, he gets caught up in a conflict between Scientists and Sloan's Omega Forces. This game has quite an 80's vibe to it, so expect lots of references to things from the 80's such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, Mortal Kombat, and even Star Wars at one point! As good as this game's story is however, it is a little bit cliched. Far Cry 3 suffered from the same problem, but made up for it with original characters and plot lines. While Blood Dragon doesn't have this advantage, it more than makes up for it with its clever writing and references. This game has a great sense of humor, and made me laugh at several points. While this game doesn't have quite as good of a story as Far Cry 3's, it is still enjoyable for being a throwback to the 1980's. Overall, I'd say that this game is definitely worth buying, especially if you have already played Far Cry 3. While it is not as good as Far Cry 3, it is definitely good as a game you can play afterwards. Even if you haven't played Far Cry 3, it is still a great game that is worth playing. Call of Duty. This is a game that I almost didn't want to play. I thought for sure that I wouldn't like it, considering that most people don't like Call of Duty that much, and I also reviewed the fourth game of the franchise (Modern Warfare), and I considered it terrible. However, I was just itching for some action in World War II this summer. I had already played three other World War II games before this: Day of Defeat, Forgotten Hope 2 (which is actually a Battlefield 2 mod), and Rising Storm/Red Orchestra 2 multiplayer. Overall, the only one I was impressed with was Rising Storm/Red Orchestra 2. Forgotten Hope's battles dragged on for way too long, and Day of Defeat doesn't have bots. When I heard the first two games of the series are considered the greatest World War II games ever, I decided that I had no choice but to try it. So, is this the kind of game **** Germany would use as a form of torture, or is this what the Allies played in their heads when they won World War II? Let's find out. Please keep in mind that I only played the single player portion of this game, as the multiplayer portion didn't have any bots. All I can say about this game's gameplay is that it is fantastic. It may play like any other first person shooter, but it is much more unique in that there are many more enemies to fight than in any other shooter. This game actually makes you feel like you are in the middle of a huge battle, and this is a big achievement that I have not seen any other single player game do. The game usually places you in a squad of several allied soldiers, and pits you against waves of **** trying to stop you from completing objectives. This game's gameplay makes you feel like your in a battle because of the hundreds of **** trying to stop you, the battle sound effects going off in the background, various allied and enemy vehicles, and objectives to complete that all fully immerse you into the game, and make you feel like you're an actual soldier fighting in World War II. While this game doesn't really add much to the shooter genre in terms of gameplay, it doesn't really need to in this case. The game plays like just about any other first person shooter you have already played, and this is both good and maybe just a little bad. It's good because that means that this game is not hard to pick up and play at all. The only problem is that if you are looking for a shooter that reinvents the genre, you won't find it here. However, this isn't really a big problem because the game is still insanely fun. The only real problem I can think of with the game's single player is that it is way too short. The campaign can be completed in 5-6 hours. The United Offensive expansion does add an extra 5-6 hours of play, but if you don't have that, then expect the single player to be just a short fun ride. The campaign of this game is still really fun to play on its own, I just wish it were a little longer. Call of Duty also sports excellent looking graphics for its time. They may look a little dated now, but back in the day, these kinds of graphics were all the rage. In short, this game still looks pretty fantastic even today. Everything in this game looks the way it should in World War II, the explosion effects look nice, and nothing in this game is ugly to look at. While the graphics may look dated today, they still look quite good overall. As for the story, Call of Duty actually doesn't really have much of a story. However, it doesn't really need one. This game serves the purpose of taking you into the biggest battles of World War II. The only real story to this game is that there are three parts to the campaign: American, British, and Russian. The American campaign has you playing as a soldier fighting as a paratrooper in the Normandy Landings (D-Day). The British Campaign has you taking part in Operation Tonga (which is also part of D-Day). The Russian campaign takes place during the Battle of Stalingrad. This game really succeeds in making you feel like you are actually in these battles. Overall, through its use of World War II as subject material, this game is fantastic. This game is by far the best World War II game I have ever played, despite it being a little short. This game is a must-buy for anyone who loves World War II shooters, or just shooters in general. On a side note, I also played Call of Duty 4 again after playing this game. I now think it is far better than I first thought! Gameplay: 9/10 Graphics: 9/10 Story: 8/10 Overall: 9/10

Marvel Super Hero Squad. This is a **** know what? I'm not even going to do a normal intro for this game. You want to know why? I have two good reasons. For one thing, you have to ask yourself, have you ever heard of this game? The only reason I remember it is because I have actually played it. Not a lot of people got this game when it came out, probably because it came out around the same time as a lot of other good games in 2009. The other reason why I am not going to do an intro for this game is because this game totally ****, and the only real reason why I am writing this review is because I want to tell all of you why all of the mixed reviews of this game are all balderdash! In other words, whatever you do, do not buy this game! Especially when there are so many much better games out there. This is the worst Nintendo DS game, if not the worst video game I have ever played, and this review is going to tell you why. Let's start with the gameplay shall we? This game is a fighting game that allows you to take your favorite (childish) Marvel characters and fight each other. That idea sounds excellent on paper, however, here it is so poorly executed! For one thing there are only two modes, story mode, and battle mode. That's it. There is really nothing else to do in this game other than those two options. The story mode is just a side scrolling beat-em' up game, and there is usually a boss at the end that you have to fight in a battle mode style battle. Battle mode basically takes those boss battles and allows you to fight in multiplayer. One of the biggest problems with this game that I noticed almost immediately after I started playing it, is that the game is a complete rip-off of Super Smash Bros.! Seriously, it is a 2D fighting game, with only a handful of Marvel characters to play as, and the stages are designed in a similar way to Super Smash Bros. There are even items, special moves, and super moves you can use once you charge them up, just like Super Smash Bros.! I could forgive this if the game was executed as well as, if not better than the game it was ripping off. However, that's the thing, it's worse than the game it's ripping off! For that, I have to take off a ton of points from its final score! There are only ten characters total to play as (8 are unlocked from the beginning, 2 have to be unlocked by completing the game's story) compared to Super Smash Bros. Brawl's 35! There is also only a small number of stages to pick from compared to Brawl's several stages! Also, you can only fight one on one, Brawl allows you to fight with three other people on the same arena, not just one! However, the biggest problem with the game that makes it worse than the game it is ripping off is the controls! The controls feel stiff and unresponsive. On top of that, I lost count of the amount of times I mistook one button for the other because the controls are so much more confusing than Smash Bros. The only good thing about this game's gameplay I think of is that at the very least, there are some original modes here that aren't in Super Smash Bros. that I think would make a great addition to the series. However, because the rest of the gameplay of this game is so terrible, that doesn't really matter too much. As for the story, it is just terrible. It follows the story of the cartoon series it is based on, however, there is zero character development, it is not well written with terrible jokes thrown in, and the story is little more than a convoluted mess that has you playing as random Marvel characters. There is literally nothing good about this game's story at all. The only people who are going to know the characters by the end of the game are the die-hard Marvel fans! I decided to save the graphics for last. This is not because they are good however. It's like the game developers said "You think the gameplay and story are bad? Check out these terrible graphics!" That's right. The graphics are actually the worst part of all about this game! This game is the first game I have ever played that actually gave me a headache from looking at the graphics for too long. They look horribly unrealistic, and far too pixelated for the Nintendo DS. Once again though, this game's graphics actually gave me a headache! That has literally never happened to me before when playing a video game. Overall, this game is absolutely terrible, and if you have a Nintendo DS, stay as far away from this game as possible. You will regret buying this game, especially when there are so many much better DS games out there. If you want an excellent DS game, buy a Mario game, or Kirby Super Star Ultra, or a Zelda game. Heck if you still want a Marvel game, even Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, which I reviewed earlier is better than this game! Gameplay: 2/10 Graphics: 1/10 Story: 1/10 Overall: 1/10

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. I know what you are thinking: haven't I given this game a terrible review before? Well, to tell you the truth, the real reasons why I didn't like this game at first are that for one thing, so many people hate this series' most recent installments. Along with that, I just couldn't get over how the Search and Destroy multiplayer mode was just a carbon copy of Counter-Strike. However, I then played the original Call of Duty (back when the game was WWII based rather than a fictional modern war), and I really enjoyed it. I then wondered: should I give this game another try? So, did I enjoy this game more the second time around, or do I still want to attack the people that created this game? Let's find out. This game plays a lot like any other first-person shooter. You have multiple weapons, there are plenty of enemies to fight, and pretty much everything else that makes a shooter what it is. The difference between this game and the others is that this game is much more cinematic. Because this game takes place in a modern war, you will often be fighting with squad members, explosions and firefights going on in the background, and many more enemies to fight than in a normal shooter. This game also succeeds where I have seen many other shooters fail: when I play this game, I actually feel like I'm in the middle of a war. While there have been shooters that prove that war is not necessary to make a good shooter, (Half-Life 1, BioShock, Doom, Borderlands), Call of Duty 4 really shines in how it makes you feel like you're in the middle of a war. I originally harshly criticized this game's AI. However, looking back at it, the AI really isn't that bad. At the very least, it does get the job done of making you feel like you're in a war. The game may also be very easy, but that doesn't mean it isn't fun. It is also redundant, but it is redundant in a way that is fresh and enjoyable. As for the lack of skill, as it turns out, I was also wrong here. It does actually require some skill to kill enemies. In the end, the single player campaign is actually pretty good, and I don't know why I didn't enjoy it at first. As for the multiplayer, I actually enjoyed it a lot more the second time around when I played it. Yes, its modes are taken from other shooters, however, it feels far more fresh and new here. In Unreal Tournament team deathmatch, your team is mostly spread out, and you fight through corridors. Here, you all start out in the same spot, and you fight in much more open areas. The same goes for normal deathmatch and domination. As for Search and Destroy, while it does rip-off Counter-Strike, it also makes more of a use of the open maps. It also has two unique modes called Headquarters and Sabotage that are really fun to play. Also, I criticized the kill streaks in my first review, but I now realize that the kill streaks actually make the game far more unique, and not just "Unreal Tournament in Modern Warfare". The gameplay of this game is actually pretty enjoyable, and I have no idea why I criticized it at first. As for the graphics, while they do look somewhat dated even by 2007, they certainly don't look muddy. They actually look really good. The environments are actually very well detailed, and pretty to look at. The soldiers look good too. It may not look as good as Crysis or BioShock, both of which were released on the same year, but it still looks quite good nonetheless. As for the story, I originally thought it was terrible because it was too easy to understand and explain. However, I now realize that I was wrong about this. It is actually good because it is easy to understand and explain. Basically the British and the U.S. Army have to go across the world to Russia and the Middle East in order to stop terrible men from taking over the world. The game may have a huge lack of character development, but I feel like it's not really needed here. In fact, the game is good enough with out that. The story may not be as good as the gameplay and graphics, but it is compelling enough to be interested in. Overall, this game is nowhere near is bad as I initially said it was. I was letting the haters of this franchise cloud my judgement. It really is a pretty solid game. I would recommend it to pretty much anyone who is a shooter fanboy. It is not the best shooter ever made or anything. However, it is safe to say I will not criticize this franchise anymore. To all of you Call of Duty players out there who want to play the game, go right ahead. I will not even try to stop you. Gameplay: 10/10 Graphics: 9/10 Story: 8/10 Overall: 9/10

Kirby Super Star Ultra. While the DS has never been my favorite device to play my games on as I much prefer consoles and PCs, I did have a few good games on the system. Heck, I still enjoy playing all of the Mario games that I have on the DS. They are very enjoyable and fun for all ages. As for this game, it is actually a remake of Kirby Super Star for the SNES. So, does this remake recapture the magic of the SNES classic, or is it a disgrace to the memory of that wonderful game? Let's find out. This game is about as simple as an action platformer can get. You move from platform to platform fighting enemies and solving puzzles along the way. What makes this game more unique than other action platformers however, is Kirby himself, and the fact that it is several games in one. Kirby on his own can swallow enemies and eat them. When Kirby swallows certain enemies, he can copy their abilities. This is a very important difference from most platformers. Most characters in platformers only have a small amount of power-ups at their disposal. Kirby on the other hand, has dozens. This makes the game much more enjoyable to play. I had a lot of fun trying out Kirby's abilities when I got them. Every ability in the game is very different, and changes the gameplay quite a bit. This game is also several games in one. While the gameplay is overall the same in every game, each game adds a special twist to make it more unique from the last one. The only real problem I had with the gameplay overall is that it was way too easy. Kirby has a lot of health, and there is plenty of food available to refill it. Kirby is also like a balloon, because he can float over gaps, which other characters like Mario would have to make huge jumps over. This makes the game way too easy, and disappointing for those looking for a challenge. However, the difficulty really isn't a problem when the game is this fun to play. As for the graphics, they are beautiful and unique. They have definitely seen an upgrade from the original SNES game. Everything in this game looks cartoony and cute to look at. The backgrounds are also rich with detail. There is really no problem at all with this game when it comes to the graphics. As for the story, this really depends on which game you choose. Even so, all the game stories are really straightforward, and easy to follow. The first game is Spring Breeze, in which King Dedede steals all of the food in Dreamland, and it is up to Kirby to stop him. The second is Dyna Blade, in which a giant bird is attacking Dreamland, and Kirby has to discover why. Then there's Great Cave Offensive, in which Kirby finds himself lost in an underground cavern. He must escape and collect treasure along the way. Gourmet Race is a game in which King Dedede challenges Kirby to race to the finish while collecting the most food along the way. Meta Knight's Revenge is the story of how Meta Knight uses his ship Halberd in attempt to take over Dreamland, and Kirby has to stop him. Milky Way Wishes is about a time when the Sun and the Moon started fighting each other, and Kirby has to find a way to stop them from fighting. These were the stories of all of the original Kirby Super Star games. There are also a few new ones. The Revenge of the King is a remixed version of Spring Breeze that is much harder, and is about how Dedede wants revenge after being defeated in Spring Breeze. Meta Nightmare Ultra allows you to play all of the games mentioned above as Meta Knight (minus Revenge of the King). This adds a nice spin on Kirby Super Star. There are also three arena modes, which are just modes that pit you against all of the game's bosses in random order. While the stories of these games aren't very developed, they are relatively easy to follow, and that's all that really matters in a video game. Overall, this game is a nice throwback to a time when video games had very simple premises. I really enjoyed the time I had with this game. It is a blast to play, has beautiful graphics and stories that are very easy to follow, leaving everything else open to interpretation. This is a game that anyone who owns a DS should play. It is really fun, and more than worth the money. Gameplay: 9/10 Graphics: 10/10 Story: 9/10 Overall: 9/10

The Amazing Spider-Man 2. I realize this review might be coming a little late. After all, I reviewed two other Spider-Man games a while ago, including this game's prequel. I was anxious to play this game being the die-hard Spider-Man fanboy that I am. I would pretty much buy anything that has his name plastered on it. So, does this game measure up to the other two Spider-Man games that I reviewed, or is this Spider-Man's worst game yet? Let's find out. The gameplay of the original game was really repetitive. It was still fun however. Here the gameplay is much more repetitive, and much less fun. This is sad because this game follows much the same gameplay style as the last game. You control Spider-Man as he fights criminals and super-villains throughout the city of Manhattan. Along with that there are also story missions you have to complete as the game goes on. The gameplay is more redundant this time around, as there are now more random crimes that Spider-Man has to stop. This time however, unlike the last game, these crimes don't disappear forever once you do them. They do disappear, however, they reappear later on. At first I thought I would like this, as I remember crimes appearing randomly in Spider-Man 2 the game for the Nintendo Gamecube. While that was fun, those crimes were completely optional (provided that you didn't need to do them to progress through the story). However, here I just found them annoying. For one thing, in this game, there is now a penalty for not stopping these crimes in time, through the game's poorly implemented hero or menace system. I was expecting something cool like an alternate ending for the game, like in Spider-Man Web of Shadows. However, it ultimately results in "If Spider-Man doesn't stop these crimes, then the Police will stop Spider-Man". It basically means if you leave crimes alone for long enough, it will disappear, and the people of New York will hate you for letting the criminals get away. This just got annoying. Also, there is always a news report when you stop a crime, which can take your time away from this game's action. This makes the game boring, and less fun. None of this is to say that the game isn't fun at all. It can be fun just to beat people up as Spider-Man. There are also really fun stealth missions where you have to take out enemies who are trying to stop you from getting to an alternate costume. If this was the entire game, I think I would have enjoyed it a little bit more. Oh, and yes there are alternate costumes and other unlockables in this game which can extend your playtime a bit. The alternate costumes are better in this game than they are in the last game, as they don't completely break the game when you unlock them. They're supposed to provide you with boosts depending on the costume you use. However, because the gameplay is so redundant I barely noticed any difference regardless of what costume I used. Oh, and the gameplay is also way too easy. In the end, the gameplay of this game could have been amazing, but due to easiness and redundancy, the gameplay falls into mediocrity. As for the graphics, I think they look good...back in 2006. This game also has really mediocre outdated graphics. This game came out a year after Grand Theft Auto V, my new favorite video game of all time, which had fantastic graphics that really showed off what graphics technology of today is capable of. Also, this game's lighting makes the graphics look even more dreadful than they already are. While I'd say this game's graphics are outdated, they are still pretty mediocre at best. As for the story, words cannot describe how disappointed I am with this game's story. It is absolutely terrible, displaying pretty much everything bad about video game story lines. The entire story is pretty much "Oh no bad guys are trying to take over the city, but of course Spider-Man is here, so everything will be fine". There are also Peter Parker levels that I sort of enjoyed. They still couldn't save the story from being a travesty however. Overall, I will admit, I actually enjoyed this game at first. However, that was because I am a giant Spider-Man fan, and I was willing to let that blind me to how boring the game really is. That's exactly who I'd say this game would appeal to: just the die hard Spider-Man fanboys, and no one else. Everyone else should just play Spider-Man 2 the game or Ultimate Spider-Man for the Gamecube instead. They are both much better games. Or heck, just don't play a Spider-Man game at all. Instead, play Batman Arkham if you want an excellent superhero game. Just stay away from Arkham Origins! Gameplay: 5/10 Graphics: 4/10 Story: 3/10 Overall: 4/10

Grand Theft Auto V. Grand Theft Auto is a series that I was waiting to get my hands on ever since I started playing video games, which was back when I was seven. Back in June, I got that chance when I started playing GTA IV. I will review that game later, as I unfortunately have not completed that game's main story missions yet. This is mostly because I got GTA V only a couple of weeks later. So, is this game deserve the ****...okay, you know something, forget the intro, you all know what I'm going to say. This is probably one of the greatest games I have ever played, if not the greatest. Everything about this game is amazing, and Rockstar should be proud of themselves for making it. The gameplay of this game is insanely fun. It gives you a massive open world that you are free to explore from the beginning after completing just the first couple of missions. There is so much to do in this open world that it is insane! You can follow the game's story as you do missions, participate in activities in Los Santos such as tennis or watching movies, customize your characters by giving them different clothing and hair cuts, and so much more! Of course, if you want to just go around shooting everything you see, you can do that too. You can also steal and drive cars. The driving in this game is fantastic! I haven't played a game with driving good since Mario Kart. All of the cars handle nicely, and I feel more like it's my own fault that I crashed in this game than in any other game. The shooting in this game is nice too. You can take cover behind pretty much anything in the open world of Los Santos and shoot from behind cover. As stated however, there is a lot more to do in this game than just driving and shooting. You can also play sports, watch movies, go on the internet, or just explore the state of San Andreas. There is also a main story for you to follow, involving three main characters, Michael, Franklin, and Trevor. This brings up another great thing about the gameplay of this game: there are three main characters, and you can switch between them at any time. They aren't different gameplay-wise, other than their special abilities that make them unique such as Franklin's slow-motion driving. However, they more than make up for this with their different personalities, which I will go over in the story section of this review. It is also remarkably bug free, throughout my playthrough of the game's story, I only encountered one bug while I was playing. However, once I died, the game immediately went back to normal. The story missions are all really fun to play despite a few bugs here and there. It is definitely better than Skyrim was with bugs (Skyrim is still amazing, don't get me wrong, but there were several bugs in it). Overall, this game's gameplay is fantastic, no matter how you decide to play it. As for the graphics, not even Far Cry 3 competes with this game's beautiful graphics. That's right. I have found a game that actually looks better than Far Cry 3. This game is about as realistic as graphics in a video game can get. The game's graphics are vibrant, colorful, and perfectly replicate the looks of a city in California, and the Californian countryside. Everything is rich with detail in this game, and beautiful to look at. As for the story, I think I have a new contender for best story in a video game. It might even make BioShock Infinite's story look bad. This game's story takes you across the state of San Andreas with the game's three main characters. There's Michael: a retired bank robber who just wants to be with his family, Trevor: a psychopath who was a former partner of Michael's, and Franklin: an African American who is new to the criminal scene, and just wants to make a lot of money being a criminal. What follows is a story filled with illegal acts, grittiness, humor, and a fun ride from start to finish. Overall, this game's story is one of the greatest I've ever heard in my life. This game really is a fantastic game from start to finish. It is one ****, it is the greatest game I have ever played. There is not much more that needs to be said. This game is so good, that I just can't put it down, even after completing its story. All I can say is, if you own an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, you absolutely need this game. If you don't own it, go buy it now. Just make sure you can take this game's controversial content. Gameplay: 10/10 Graphics: 10/10 Story: 10/10 Overall: 10/10

Battlefield 2. My friends at school all really love one of two series: Battlefield or Call of Duty. What really ticks me off about it is that the popular kids all really like Call of Duty, which I consider terrible, and the unpopular kids really like Battlefield. It just goes to show you that these two franchises are at war with each other, and it has had really dire side effects on the world at large. I however, have chosen not to take a side in this war. I've only played the best games of these two franchises and that was it. I have already reviewed Call of Duty 4, which I thought was one of the worst games I've ever played. Now I'm reviewing the best Battlefield game, Battlefield 2. So, is this series really better than Call of Duty in every way, or do all modern warfare shooters totally **** after all? Let's find out. This game is an absolute blast to play! It is an online shooter with massive battlefields to fight on, and massive armies to fight with. This game really captures what it's like to be a member of the army and fight on huge battlefields. This game has only one gameplay mode, but because every map is so huge, when the game starts to feel old, other maps make it feel new again. This gameplay mode is conquest. In conquest, the two armies must fight to take control of the entire map, by taking over all of the control points. There is also a reinforcement counter, which shows how many more units on an army can spawn on the battlefield. Once one team controls more control points than the other, the other team starts losing reinforcements. The first team to take control of all of the control points, or get rid of all of the opposing team's reinforcements (this can also be done by simply killing the enemy as opposed to taking control points) wins. This game also emphasizes teamwork quite a bit. It is highly recommended that you get in a squad as early as possible. Also, if you are getting bored of going on foot to fight, or you have to take a long walk to an enemy control point, don't worry about it. There are also several vehicles to drive such as buggys, tanks, fighter jets, and even boats. This game also controls like your average shooter, so you don't have much to worry about in the controls department. In fact, this game is so fun, that the only real problem I have with it other than having only one game mode is that the jets and helicopters are really hard to fly. I found it insanely difficult to fly both air vehicles. However, it just goes to show you that this game has a good learning curve. The AI of this game can also be a challenge, which makes the game much more interesting. They do have a few problems here and there, but nothing major such as just sitting there doing nothing. Overall, no matter how you want to play this game, it will be fun no matter what. As for the graphics, while they may not be as good as Half-Life 2, which came out a year before this, they are still great graphics for their time. Everything in this game is very well detailed, looks the way it should, and perfectly replicates this game's modern warfare setting. It has settings in the United States of America, China, and the Middle East. All of these settings look about how you would expect in a modern day setting. The buildings, vehicles, and character models all look quite good. The only real problem that exists with the graphics is that despite how good they look, they might be a bit dated. Overall, the graphics of this game are great, if a bit dated. As for the presentation, it's great too. The menus can be a bit confusing sometimes, and the tutorials can be a bit confusing, but that's about it. Otherwise, this game has all of the modern military forces you would expect. Of course the U.S. Army is in this game, along with the Chinese, European Union, and Mecca armies. This game definitely presents itself as an excellent multiplayer shooter, and it succeeds in that respect. Overall, this game is a fantastic multiplayer shooter. It has everything good you would come to expect from a multiplayer shooter and more. The battles may be long, but that's just how they should be. In the end, I haven't chosen a side in the war between Call of Duty and Battlefield, but if I did, I would definitely choose Battlefield. Lego Lord of the Rings. This is a game that combines two things that I love. It combines Legos, an uber popular toy that people both build and play with all the time, and Lord of the Rings, my favorite movie franchise of all time. As you can probably guess, I was really excited to play this game. So, is this game the one game to rule them all, or did Frodo put the ring on one too many times? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game is much like any other Lego licensed video game. The game is an action adventure game that follows the events of the three Lord of the Rings movies. Every action packed scene from the movies is there for you to play, from the prologue of the Fellowship of the Ring, to where Frodo Baggins casts the ring into the fire towards the end of Return of the King. The levels are filled with both combat against enemies such as Orcs and Goblins, and simple puzzle solving that will require certain characters to accomplish. You can play as any Lord of the Rings character you want in this game. You can play is one of the heroes such as Frodo or Gandalf, one of the villains such as Sauron or Sarumon, or even one of those characters that only plays a tiny role in the films such as a Minas Tirith guard that got killed early on in the battle during Return of the King. You can even create your own character if you want to. Of course you can only do this after completing the game's main story, but considering that it's Lord of the Rings, quite possibly the greatest story ever told, it's well worth the wait. Of course this game has main missions which closely follow the events of the films, but outside of that, you also have the huge open world of Middle Earth to explore. Everything in Middle Earth is here for you to explore, from the hobbit houses of the Shire, to the walls of Helm's Deep, to the fiery mountains of Mordor. While the levels from the movies are all insanely fun, the open world does seem just a tiny bit less polished than the rest of the game. There is a lot to do in the open world, but almost all of the quests you need to undertake to beat the game 100% are very confusing. The characters keep telling you to find items for them, and you go to a location to look for them, but they seem very hard to find. Some are easy, but most others are very difficult. This can become very aggravating. Also, it is unfortunate that there aren't very many enemies in this open world. It would be a lot more fun if you could fight Orcs on the way to the next parts of the films, or as part of the quests, be able to fight Orcs with allies instead of just fetching things for them. Also, all of the things that some might consider problems with these Lego games are here such as redundant and simplistic gameplay. However, I never really cared much for how simplistic the gameplay is, after all, it is still plenty fun despite this. Therefore, I see nothing wrong with the gameplay in that respect. Overall, the gameplay of this game is fantastic if you are a fan of both Lego and Lord of the Rings. As for the graphics, while they look about as blocky as any other Lego game, they are still great in this respect. While it may be tiresome for some to see the graphics like this again, (it is like any other Lego game after all) it is still good for a Lego game, and considering that that's what they were going for, that's all that really matters. The graphics of this game really are quite good overall, some just might be tired of seeing more Lego-y textures. Still though, this is a Lego game. It's supposed to look like this. As for the story, there's not much more that needs to be said other than it's Lord of the Rings! The greatest trilogy ever told! It retells the story of Fellowship of the Ring, Two Towers, and Return of the King! It is also very closely linked to the Peter Jackson film trilogy. Under normal circumstances, I would take points off for this because it is kind of a movie tie-in. However, I won't because although this game is based on a movie franchise, it came out several years after the films, so it isn't really a tie-in. Overall, this game is a fantastic retelling of the Lord of the Rings series, especially if you have children who are too young to see the films (they are PG-13 after all). Overall, this game is fantastic. If you play video games and love Lord of the Rings, you need to buy this game! I recommend this to Lord of the Rings fans, gaming families, or pretty much anyone who just wants to play a good adventure game. Gameplay: 9/10 Graphics: 9/10 Story: 10/10 Overall: 9/10

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. Back in the day, I used to play a lot of Nintendo DS. This was before I got into Steam, and suddenly regarded the PC as my favorite gaming devise. This was kind of a slap in the face for Nintendo, as it suddenly meant I wouldn't be playing their games, or even games made by other developers such as this on their consoles anymore. Not long after, I got an Xbox 360, and all of a sudden, I totally forgot about the Wii and Nintendo DS. In any case, this is a bit of a retro review for me. Anyways, I got this game for my birthday in 2010, being the Marvel Comics fanboy that I am. So, is this game worth having for any comic book fan, or will it make you feel like you would rather have just read the comics instead? Let's find out. For starters, this game is an action RPG featuring everyone's favorite Marvel Comics characters, including Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain America, and Iron Man. Each character has their own powers, abilities, and super moves. On paper, this sounds like an excellent idea. However, does this idea work? Unfortunately no. I'm sure it works alright on the console versions of the game, but I wouldn't know as this is the only version I have. As for the Nintendo DS version, it might work if the controls were only better. However, the controls for this version are so terrible, that playing this game makes me feel like I'm hamstrung. Probably the biggest problem with the DS version is that you have to use the touch screen to access the special movies. This wouldn't be a problem, but most of the special moves require more than just touching the touch screen. Often times, for example, you have to tap the A button repeatedly to do certain special moves as well as keep holding the special move icon on the touch screen, which gets annoying really fast. Because this is an RPG, of course leveling up is a key aspect to the game. However, the leveling system is so confusing in this game, that I honestly had no idea where I was even supposed to begin with leveling up my characters. It isn't impossible to level up your characters, it's just really hard to understand how. However, it doesn't even matter. As far as I'm aware of, leveling has little to no effect on your characters. I went through the entire game without even leveling up my characters once. Believe it or not however, there are even worse parts about the gameplay than this: it is boring as heck, and it is way too easy. It is not redundant like Call of Duty, but often times, I found myself fighting the same enemies over and over. This not only made the game too easy, but it was also too boring. It was so boring that I didn't even care for the story at all. However, the worst part about the gameplay is that there is absolutely nothing to do after completing the game, but to start again. There are no collectibles, no special comics, no trophies, nothing. The closest thing you get to a collectible is a gizmo that helps level up your character. However, I have already mentioned that leveling has no effect, so there is literally no point to these gizmos. They may as well not be in this game at all. In the end, the gameplay will be terrible no matter what. As for the graphics, they are okay for the DS, however, they generally lean more towards bad graphics. The characters all look like how they should, however, they all look so pixelated and ugly at the same time. None of the characters in this game look appealing to the eye, even if they look similar to how they do in the comics. On top of that, there are also characters that are hard to tell who they are unless you go up and talk to them. The environments look every bit as ugly as the characters, with bad fire and explosion effects, and other issues. In the end, while the graphics are okay, they generally lean more towards bad graphics. As for the story, it is the best part of this game, however, even it is still terrible. It is taken from the Marvel Comic's Civil War storyline. At first I was happy as it would finally be brought into a video game. However, the way they present it is terrible. The characters aren't developed at all, the partially animated cutscenes don't totally show what is happening, and it just made me want to read the comic instead. In fact, that's what everyone should be doing instead of looking up if this game is any good. Overall, this game is terrible. Take my advice, and don't waste your money on it, especially when there are so many much better superhero games out there. Gameplay: 2/10 Graphics: 4/10 Story: 4/10 Overall: 3/10

RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Platinum. This is another game I played when I was a kid! Earlier today, I reviewed Jurassic Park: Dinosaur Battles, which I also played when I was a kid. I thought that game was terrible overall, and I recommend not even trying it. As for this game, I used to play this game, along with its prequels constantly because I love amusement parks so much. This game allows you to build your own theme parks, and make visitors happy while doing so. I played this game a lot when I was little. So, was there a good reason why I played this game so much, or was it just a coincidence? Let's find out. I have already stated what the gameplay of this game is like, it is a game where you get to create your own amusement park however you please. There's not much more to it, so I will go into more detail. You're limited only by your imagination on how you wish to create the theme park of your dreams. If you want to create an outer space themed amusement park, you can do it. If you want to create a park filled entirely with Roller Coasters, you can do it! Of course, if you just want to create a normal old park with nothing too special to it, you can always do that too. There are also several awesome rides to choose from to make your park the amazing park you want it to be. You can make Ferris Wheels, Merry-Go-Rounds, water rides, and of course Roller Coasters. Of course, making the amusement park of your dreams is only part of the game, the other important part is keeping your visitors happy. This is not too difficult however, as to do that you just need to add more rides, food and drink stalls, bathrooms, gift shops, scenery, and whatever else you can to keep guests having fun in your park. There are also multiple game modes. The first one is just the tutorial that teaches you how to play. The second one is the career mode. In this mode, you have to complete certain objectives while creating your park. You also have a limited amount of money which makes things more difficult. I found this mode to be very entertaining, as the objectives were varied enough to keep me occupied. The third one is Sandbox mode, which is my favorite mode out of all of them. In this mode, you have unlimited cash, and you are free to make your own amusement park however you want. There are no objectives, so this mode gives you the most freedom, and I love that. Finally, there is the scenario editor, which basically allows you to create your own career mode type scenarios. Believe it or not there's more! You can also create your own families to take into your parks, create your own roller coasters, and even your own scenery. All of this is supported by silky smooth mouse controls to make the experience more enjoyable then it already is. Overall, the gameplay is fantastic, no matter how you decide to play the game. As for the graphics, they look great, but they aren't perfect. The way I see it, everything in this game looks perfect, except for the character models. The characters in this game look a bit too cartoony. Normally I wouldn't have a problem with this, as I loved the way Team Fortress 2 did its cartoony graphics, but TF2 did its cartoony graphics with much more effort and polish than here. Here, all of the characters just look like stick figures. However, this is just one little thing. The graphics of this game are still great no matter how the characters look. The game presents itself very well as well. Everything in this game is easily accessible, and easy to understand. Nothing in this game is confusing in the slightest, making the game far more enjoyable. Also, it should be noted that this is the Platinum Version of Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. This package comes with the game and its two expansion packs. The two expansion packs are called Soaked! and Wild! respectively. Soaked! allows you to add water parks and water themed rides to your park. Wild! allows you to add wildlife and safaris to your park. Because of the inclusion of these two expansions, the game becomes even better! Overall, this game is a must-buy for anyone who loves video games, and especially those who love amusement parks. This game proves that video games don't have to be violent to be entertaining and fun. This is by far the most relaxing game I have ever played, and that's a good thing. The only bad thing I can think of for this game is the character models, but in the end, they don't really hurt the game all that much. Jurassic Park: Dinosaur Battles. I'm surprised that there are no reviews for this game yet! I guess not a lot of people have even heard of this game. Believe it or not, I actually owned a copy of this game when I was very little. In that case, I guess I'll be the first to review it. Personally, I love Jurassic Park. At least, I love the first movie and the books. Other then those, there is not much more I love with this franchise other than the dinosaurs themselves. The sequels to the movies were crap, and there have also been several crappy video game adaptations of the franchise. Okay, there were some good ones too. I love The Lost World Jurassic Park arcade game. How about this game? Is this game a fantastic game that must be played by all JP and Dinosaur lovers, or should this game be left extinct? Let's find out. All I can say about the gameplay of this game is this: it is absolutely terrible! The game tries and fails to be like Pokemon. In other words, it is an RPG style game with an overhead perspective, but when you encounter a dinosaur, the game suddenly shifts into a battle between two dinosaurs. On paper, this sounds like one of the best ideas to ever come out of a video game, but the execution is very poor. The way you control your dinosaur makes me feel like I'm hamstrung. The battles are not turn based like in Pokemon, they are more action oriented. This would be good if you could take direct control of your dinosaurs, but that's the problem: you literally can't! Instead, you have to hit buttons with your mouse that make your dinosaur get into offensive, defensive, and neutral postures. This may sound like it works in practice, however, more often then not, I felt like the dinosaurs had a mind of their own. Often they keep running away from the other dinosaurs when I am telling them to attack. Also, it **** because everything must be controlled using a mouse, even the attacks. I found myself constantly fumbling around with the mouse, all because I had to keep clicking to attack as well as choosing a posture, and the whole time, I was just getting me butt handed to me by the other dinosaur. The game is also very redundant. Every battle seems the same no matter what. Another annoying thing about the gameplay is how your dinosaur learns attacks. It won't just learn them. You have to activate it by completing genetic sequences of DNA. Once again, this sounds like a brilliant idea, but it was poorly executed. The way you set these up is very confusing. It's so confusing in fact, I can't even explain it, if you want to, you'll just have to find out for yourself! Also, the game is terribly unbalanced! There is one dinosaur in this game that you can get that is invincible to practically everything. Once you get this dinosaur (Ankylosaurus), you can just plow your way through the rest of the game, as it provides a cheap victory over all but six of the dinosaur types in the game. I think that the only good thing about the gameplay that is actually better than Pokemon is the battle mode, in which you can just choose a dinosaur and battle any dinosaurs you have fought over the course of the game. Still though, since the battles in this game ****, it doesn't even matter. Overall, there really aren't too many redeeming qualities about the gameplay, and in the end, it is absolute rubbish. As for the graphics, they are on the just okay side, but generally lean more toward the bad side. The overworld looks beautiful, and the dinosaurs look okay, but the backgrounds you fight in just look downright ugly. They literally look like they were done in less than a minute. Plus, it is also worth mentioning that this game came out in 2002. By this point, Super Mario Sunshine was already out for the Gamecube, and it looked absolutely beautiful for its time, so there is little excuse for graphics to look this shoddy. Overall, the graphics are better than the gameplay, but that doesn't mean they are good. As for the story, it is just awful. It is a cliched story of children going to Site B by accident, and needing your help to get off the island. There is also a story with the stereotypical mad scientist super-villain thrown in to make things interesting, but it ultimately comes out as flat. The characters are not well developed, the voice acting is bad, and in the end, the story is just terrible, no matter how good they try to make it. Overall, this game is absolutely terrible. Nobody should play it at any point in their lives whatsoever. Gameplay: 2/10 Graphics: 5/10 Story: 3/10 Overall: 3/10

Far Cry 3. A little while back I reviewed Far Cry 2, the prequel to this game. I thought it was a little underrated, and I thought Far Cry 1 was overrated. Most people disliked Far Cry 2 because of its meh story and realism, but I loved the game for those reasons, and I thought it was definitely worth playing. As for Far Cry 1, I thought it was little more than a tech demo for the first Crysis. Now I have played Far Cry 3, which takes the game's setting away from Africa, and back to the tropical island type of setting from Far Cry 1. However, it still retains most if not all of the open world freedom of Far Cry 2, and gets rid of most of the realism, and provides a better story. So, is this tropical island a paradise that you will spend hours getting lost in, or is Far Cry 2 still the superior Far Cry game? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game is slightly different from its predecessor. Yes, it is still a first-person shooter, and there is still an open world for you to explore, just like the last game. However, this game is slightly different because the game mechanics have been greatly improved. For those of you who were unhappy with the stealth mechanics of Far Cry 2, your prayers have been answered. Stealth is emphasized much more in this game than it was in the last game. It is now much easier to kill enemies quietly when they're not looking. Another improvement this game made on the last one is the inclusion of perks and skill trees. Perks give your character more power, and the more perks you have, the more will be available later on in the game. The skill trees in this game make this game have elements of The Elder Scrolls and Fallout in it, which is always a nice touch, as the perks in both of the former made the games much more enjoyable. The open world has also been improved. There is now much more to do than ever in Far Cry 3. You can assault enemy outposts however you want, help natives on certain quests, and play mini games such as poker and knife throwing. Of course there are also story missions, which have been improved from Far Cry 2, thanks to the game now having a much easier story to follow. Because you can approach this game's missions however you please, the game is much more enjoyable. Stealthy players will find plenty of options to hide in the shadows, and kill enemies. Long range players will be able to use sniper rifles to pick off enemies from a distance. Players who just like to charge in guns blazing will be able to do that too. The AI is also a challenge in this game. The enemies know how to alert allies if you are attacking them, and they also use cover very effectively. This game's AI is among the best I have ever seen in a video game. Even on the easiest difficulty I died several times because of this game's advanced A.I. As for problems with the gameplay, there really aren't very many at all. The only minor gripe I have with the gameplay is that there are a few bugs, but these bugs are few and far between. This game is insanely fun to play no matter how you decide to play it. As for the graphics, I think Crysis has lost its majesty as the best looking PC game I have ever played. This game just barely beats the original Crysis in terms of graphics. Far Cry 3 is a beautiful looking game. Everything in this game is rich with detail, looks very colorful, and looks realistic to boot. The graphics of this game have won my award for the best graphics ever seen in a video game. As for the story, it has also been improved. It may not be as good as some other stories I have seen in video games, but it is still an improvement over Far Cry 2's bland and boring story. You play as a man named Jason Brody, who has to rescue his friends from a band of pirates and mercenaries led by two insane evil men. This time, the premise is good, the characters are well developed, and the plot is smoother and easier to follow than the previous game. The story of this game is fantastic, even though it's not quite as good as other titles. Overall, this game is fantastic. It is a huge improvement over Far Cry 2, as it improved on just about everything that made Far Cry 2 such a great game. I recommend this title to just about anyone who wants to play a video game. Unless of course, they are offended by some of this game's mature content. Gameplay: 10/10 Graphics: 10/10 Story: 9/10 Overall: 10/10

Primal Carnage. This is a game that I was very skeptical about getting. When I saw the trailers for this game, I got really excited. It was the kind of game that I've wanted since I was very little: a game about humans fighting dinosaurs. I was excited because dinosaur games are few and far between, and also because this time you could actually play as dinosaurs. I was really excited about this game at the time, but then I looked at Metacritic and noticed it got a mixed reception. So I decided it might actually be better to hold off on getting this game. Then, cut to a little over a year after the game came out, and I finally decided to try it out. So, is this game the dinosaur shooter that you and I have been waiting for our whole lives? Or is this the kind of dinosaur that should've been trampled as an egg? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game may seem like your generic shooter at first, except for one very big difference, one team is humans, the other is dinosaurs. The human team plays very much like a class-based first person shooter. There are five classes total: Commando, Pathfinder, Pyromaniac, Scientist, and Trapper. They all have very good abilities that balance out the team perfectly. Commando is all about shooting every dinosaur you see, Pathfinder can throw flares to blind the dinosaurs, Pyromaniac sets everything around him ablaze with his flamethrower, the Scientist can snipe from a distance, and the Trapper can trap dinosaurs with a net, and then proceed to shoot them. As for the dinosaurs, there are five of those too. The dinosaurs actually play from a third person perspective rather than first-person. The classes are Tyrannosaurus (replaced with Spinosaurus in the Get to the Chopper game mode), Novaraptor, Dilophosaurus, Pteranodon, and Carnotaurus. These dinosaurs also have different abilities that supplement their team perfectly. The Tyrannosaurus and Spinosaurus can eat humans to regain health, Novaraptors rush into humans to take them down, Dilophosaurus can poison humans, impairing their vision for a time, Pteranodons can pick humans up off the ground and drop them to their doom, and Carnotaurus behave like bulls, charging into humans at high speeds. I know exactly what you're thinking, isn't this game completely unbalanced because the dinosaurs have too much health, and the humans too little? Surprisingly no! This game is actually very well balanced. Neither team is too powerful or too weak at all. You might think that with multiple Tyrannosaurus the game's balance would shift to the favor of the dinosaurs. However, because Tyrannosaurus is such a powerful dinosaur, it has been limited to only two players per match, and it's the only dinosaur with a player limit. This makes the game that much more balanced. Every class in this game controls very well as well. To tell you the truth, I'd say that I have only one major problem with the gameplay: there's not enough content in this game. There are only three game modes, and a small number of maps to play on. There also aren't any bots, so you have no choice but to play online. The good news is the developers are updating the game, and constantly improving it. However, as of right now, there aren't very many modes in Primal Carnage. As for the graphics, they are very beautiful and colorful. They were made with the Unreal Engine, and they make the game look as beautiful as it plays. It doesn't look as good as Unreal Tournament 3's did (not as much detail in the textures), but it is still a very beautiful looking game. As for the overall presentation, this is done very well indeed. It looks and behaves like a good first person shooter should. The main menu looks as though it is lacking content, just like the game modes, but it is still good nonetheless. Overall, this is the perfect shooter for anyone who loves dinosaurs. There may not be enough content, but it is still fun enough to warrant a recommendation. I recommend this game to everyone who loves dinosaurs, wants to play a unique first person shooter for a change instead of the totally generic Call of Duty, or just want to have an insanely fun time playing video games. Brink. Another day of reviewing yet another multiplayer shooter. Many of my reviews in the past have been focused on multiplayer shooters. This one however, is more of a special case. I've found this game on many lists for the most disappointing games of 2011. It was meant to combine single player and multiplayer into one. It had a big story built in with the multiplayer maps. It also had a parkour system, similar to the game Mirror's Edge. It even had co-op elements, similar to those found in Left 4 Dead. All this stuff sounds great, but when it was released most critics gave the game mixed reviews, criticizing many things about it. I wasn't too keen on buying on this criticism, so I decided to buy this game, and try it for myself. So, does this game not deserve the mixed reviews it got, or does it make Call of Duty look fun all of a sudden? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game functions much like any other multiplayer shooter. There are four classes to choose from, medic, soldier, operative, and engineer, and every map is like the assault mode from Unreal Tournament 2004. The classes do manage to differentiate the game from UT2004, as multiple classes are required to complete different objectives. There were no classes in UT2004. There are also plenty of cooperative elements, not to mention parkour. This makes the game feel much more like its own game rather than just a retread of UT. As for the classes themselves, they are all very fun to play as. As the soldier, you can give troops ammo, and blow up walls blocking your path. Medics heal their allies, and revive them if they fall. Engineers can create turrets, and amplify the damage of their allies. Operatives can hack computers, and throw sticky grenades. These are only a few of the things the different classes can do. Of course, none of this would matter if the game wasn't fun to play, but the truth is that it's very fun to play! Parkour really makes the game feel different from any other shooter out there. Along with that, the game also plays like any shooter should, and that's a good thing. My only real complaint about the gameplay is that assault is the only mode in this game. There's no capture the flag, control point, or any other mode you would normally find in a multiplayer shooter. I can understand why they wouldn't put these modes in this game, as the game is more focused on the campaign than anything else, but it would be nice to have other modes too. Also, I forgot to mention another awesome thing about this game: you get to create your own character from the ground up, and select from a variety of weapons to use, and it is better than those that I have seen in other multiplayer shooters like this. Overall, this game is very fun to play, both offline with bots (the bots have very good A.I.), and online with friends. The graphics of this game are very good too. They might be a bit dark for some people, but overall, they still look great regardless. Everything is very well detailed, and looks beautiful. The characters of this game also look very unique. It's kind of a mixture between Team Fortress 2's cartoony style with the realistic style of the Call of Duty and Battlefield games. This game's graphics are as unique as the gameplay in this respect. Because of the unique graphics, Brink is a much better and more unique game than most people would like to think. As for the story, it's good, but overall, I think it needs just a little bit of work. The story of this game is that mankind built a city called the Ark, that was meant to be a self-sustaining city of the future. However, due to global warming, they were forced to relocate, and more and more people were forced to join this city as the world became flooded. Now the Ark is in trouble, and two sides are now fighting for control. There is Ark Security, which wishes to save the Ark, and the Resistance, which wishes to escape it. Overall, the premise is really good. I have never heard a plot this unique before. However, the rest of the story is cast aside, for more multiplayer action. Thus, the game lacks character development, and the rest of the story is somewhat vague on how the Ark is saved and the people escape the Ark. The story is good overall, but not as great as it could be. Overall, I think the critics were wrong about this game, because it really is very good. It is really fun to play, has great graphics, and a good story. I recommend this game to anyone who loves shooters, and video games in general. Gameplay: 9/10 Graphics: 9/10 Story: 7/10 Overall: 8/10

Star Wars The Clone Wars Adventures. Before I begin, let me just start by saying that I know this game is done. Sony Online Entertainment announced the game has been shut down for good, most likely due to the cancellation of the show it was based on. It was shut down on March 31st, 2014. This review is meant as more of a history lesson, telling you how good or bad the game really was, and if you should play it should someone make an emulated version of it. I played this game quite a bit back when this show first came out, and I will tell you exactly how it was. So, was this game an amazing MMO that should have been Star Wars the Old Republic, or is the Old Republic actually a better MMO then you would like to think? Let's find out. For starters, the gameplay of this game ****. It was good for children, but not for people like me who were just turning into teenagers at the time. Why did it **** you may ask? Well, let's just say that the game took no real risks. It instead created mini games that delivered absolutely nothing that we have not seen before. You start out in the Jedi Temple, which acted as your online hub. From here, you could visit any mini game you wanted. There is only one other MMO I can think of that does an online hub like this: basically every single MMO out there has one! Admittedly, there isn't much more they could have done to make it original, but come on! As for the mini games, oh my gosh were they terrible! For starters there was a dueling mini game. At least that's what they called it. I like to call it: Dance Dance Revolution: Jedi Duel Edition. No, you were not matching the rhythms to the music, but you were matching the button prompts to whatever chain of buttons appeared on screen. In the end, it still felt like a rhythm game, or a quick time event (don't even get me started on those). It ultimately got to the point where it didn't even feel like you were dueling someone else, but instead you were playing a bad rhythm game or quick time event. There's also a starfighter pilot mini game, but all I can say about that game is this: you would be better off playing Star Fox 64 for Nintendo 64. That's basically what this mode was, just a crappy version of Star Fox 64. I thought it was the best of all the mini games, but that still doesn't excuse that the game was little more than a rip-off of a much better game. There was also a mode that I forget the name of, but it was supposed to simulate real battles in the Clone Wars. However, this game was also nothing special. It was literally the same as every other tower defense game that you could already find on just about any random games website. However, the worst part of all about this gameplay is that you could play for free, but only for the first couple of levels of the mini games. You had to pay a lot of money to become a Jedi member just to play the rest of the levels. This is no fun at all, and is just an example of a free-to-play game that should have been pay-to-play. Not that you would want to anyway. If you haven't noticed all of the mini games are little more than complete rip-offs of games that are much much better. Overall, the gameplay of this game is just terrible. As for the graphics, believe it or not, they are quite the opposite. The graphics of this game were much better than the gameplay. They were really close to the animation of the show this game was based on, but not quite. Still though, it's hard to argue that the characters and settings looked nothing like how they did on the show, because they actually look very close. For the graphics alone, this game might have been worth giving a try. As for the overall presentation, I'd say it was mostly average. Much like the gameplay of this game, the presentation did not try anything new. It instead delivered exactly what we have come to expect from the MMO genre. The menus are all what you would expect, and so was the overall quality of the game. In the end, the presentation was not bad, but it wasn't good either. It instead brought us what we have come to expect from the genre, without trying anything new. So that's my review of Star Wars the Clone Wars Adventures. The game may be down now, but I wouldn't be disappointed. There was literally nothing this game did that no other MMO, or even other video game couldn't do already. The kids would probably have been all over this game, but as for teenagers like me who have played thousands of other video games, this game offered absolutely nothing we haven't played before, and was not even worth trying in this respect. Unreal Tournament III. Before I begin my review of this game, I'd just like to say that I will be critiquing this game based on its presentation rather than its story. This is because the story missions are basically the same as the multiplayer missions, and the story is also terrible, so if you're getting this game for the story, don't bother. Because Unreal Tournament 4 is in development, and I've played every game in the series, I decided to review the latest one for you based on multiplayer only, because as I said, the story missions are literally the exact same levels you could already find in multiplayer. The story is just there to add immersion, and don't worry, you can still play this game with bots. So anyway, is the multiplayer of this game the thrilling and fun experience you would expect from this series, or should you keep playing UT2004 instead? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game is insanely fun! After all, it is a multiplayer shooter with several game modes. It has all three of the game modes that you have come to expect from shooters. It has deathmatch (just keep killing everyone, and in the end, the person with the highest score wins), team deathmatch (the same thing, but with teams fighting for points instead of a free-for-all), and capture the flag (capture the enemy flag while defending your own). While these modes have appeared in several other shooters before, including the previous games in the series, that doesn't stop them from still being insanely fun to play. Plus, it has no kill streak rewards like Call of Duty, it is just classic versions of all of these modes, and I'm happy with that. This game also has original modes. There is warfare, in which two teams must compete for control points. Once a team has enough points, they can attack the enemy prime node. The team that manages to destroy the other team's node first wins. There is also betrayal, which is basically deathmatch but with a twist: you have rifles that can kill anything in just one hit. You also have to temporarily work with a partner that you can betray at any time in order to get bonus points. The player with the most points in the end wins. Finally, there is greed, which is basically a mode where you have to get kills, and collect the skulls the kills drop for capture at the enemy base for points. Just the first three modes alone would probably have been enough to make this game fun, but with these other modes, the game becomes even better. The game is also very fast-paced, making it even more fun to play. It plays a lot like any other old shooter game from the 90s like Doom or Quake, but considering that there aren't many of those shooters out there these days, that's actually a very good thing. Overall, the gameplay of this game is about is fun as a video game can get. As for the graphics, while they aren't the best graphics I've ever seen in a video game, I will still say that they are fantastic. This game manages to use the Unreal Engine to its full potential in the graphics department. The game's environments all look very beautiful, and the character models also look stunning. As a matter of fact, I once thought that I would never play an Unreal Engine game that looked better than this, but then I played Mass Effect 2, which also managed to astound me in every possible way it could with how amazing the game was. There are also games on the CryEngine that look better, but I will admit, Unreal's graphics are pushed to the limit with this game. Overall, the graphics are also quite good in this game. As for the presentation, it is also great, but not quite as good as the gameplay and graphics. There are a few problems with the settings, such as making it impossible to get rid of certain bot types once you add them, but otherwise it is still great. The menus work properly, and the game even allows you to create your own character, that you cannot see until after a match ends, or your friends see it. Still though, it is nice that they have this feature. Overall, this presentation is great, but not as amazing as it could be. Overall, all I can say is this: don't buy this game if you are looking for a good story! Buy it for everything but the story! The story of this game is crap, but everything else is amazing! I can easily recommend this game to anyone who wants to play a good multiplayer shooter, wants a throwback to the 90s with a modern twist, or just wants to play an insanely fun game. Just not for people who love stories in games. Gameplay: 10/10 Graphics: 9/10 Presentation: 8/10 Overall: 9/10

Assassin's Creed III. Before I reviewed this game I played Assassin's Creed II. Most people seemed to love that game, but for some reason, I didn't. I thought the game was just plain overrated, and was mediocre at best. It's a game that you should really try before you buy. Having played through the sequel now, I have to say that this game has improved upon its predecessor in most of its flaws. So, does this game present a nice rendition of the American Revolution, or was it the right move for this game not to written in the U.S. Constitution? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game is definitely better than Assassin's Creed II. However, that's not really saying much. The game is still little more than Grand Theft Auto set during the American Revolution. It provides quite a bit for an open world game, but is still nothing we haven't seen before. Of course, there are no cars to steal and drive, so you pretty much have to run everywhere. Running in this game can be fun, but it still isn't nearly as fun as stealing someone's car, and driving off. The open world is set in the cities of Boston and New York in the 1700s. There's a lot to enjoy in these cities. There are plenty of missions to undertake, a few mini games, and even some enemy bases to take. There's a lot to enjoy in these two cities, along with the wilderness surrounding them, but none of it will blow your socks off as none of it is anything we haven't seen before. The combat in this game is literally a copy and paste of the Batman Arkham series. It is an improvement over Assassin's Creed II's clunky combat, but it is still hard to excuse that it just stole this from Batman. It has many of the same beat'em up mechanics. The stealth is slightly different however. Despite this, the stealth in this game is actually worse than Arkham's. It can be hard to figure out when the perfect time to switch to stealth is, and when to beat people up. This can detract from the overall experience, and make it much less fun. Overall though, the gameplay of Assassin's Creed III is an improvement upon the second game, but is still nothing we haven't seen before. The graphics on the other hand, have had a huge improvement from the second Assassin's Creed. This time, they are actually great looking. In fact they are on par with many of the games released on the Xbox 360. It is not as good as Just Cause 2 or Grand Theft Auto IV, but it is still a beautiful looking game nonetheless. The characters and environments all look very good and rich with detail in this game. They may not be on par with some of its competitors, but they still look very good. As for the story, that's the only part of this game that has unfortunately seen no improvement over its predecessor. The story in this game is still absolutely terrible, just like the last game. The first thing I noticed after completing the story was how much of the game was a complete rip-off of Star Wars. Seriously, the main villain of this game is actually the main character's father, and his reveal is just terrible compared to Darth Vader's reveal to being Luke's father in Star Wars the Empire Strikes Back. Also there is a war within a war going on between the Assassin's and Templars while the Americans are fighting the British. This is basically the same thing as the Jedi fighting the Sith during the war between the Rebellion and the Empire. Also, the main character once again has everything taken from him, and it is almost exactly the same as Luke Skywalker this time. As for the storyline set in the present, all I can say is this: remove it. Just remove it from this game entirely. It is everyone's least favorite part of the story. It just makes the plot of this game more confusing than it should be, and it is still a Matrix rip-off. Plus, the ending is so terrible! I won't spoil it, but let's just say the main character has to make a choice, and you don't even get to make it for him! Overall, the story of this game is about as bad as a video game story can get. Overall, this game took several steps forward, but then it took several steps back. It is a decent game, but still not enough to take it out of a worth a rent status. It is better than ACII, but still not that great. I recommend this game to anyone who likes the American Revolution. Everyone else should just rent it, and nothing else. Crysis. Before I played this game, I played the original Far Cry, which was made by the same developer that made this game. It was okay, but not as good as it could be. Then I played Far Cry 2, which was not a direct sequel, and was actually made by a different developer (Ubisoft Montreal, the same company that gave us Assassin's Creed). It was a great game despite having some flaws with its story and gameplay. After playing both of these games, I decided to play Crysis, as I had a PC that was powerful enough to run it. So, is this game an amazing shooter that you will remember, or is it a forgettable mess of Michael Bay proportions? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game may seem like any other first-person shooter you have already played at first, but in reality it is quite different. Crysis has all of the mechanics from a first-person shooter you have come to expect. There are multiple weapons to choose from, you play as a character with an armored suit, and there are plenty of enemies for you to shoot. However, one big difference between this shooter and other shooters is how huge the levels are. The levels of this game are all on an island, and none of the levels are linear in the slightest. You can do missions however you want, and there are many many ways of accomplishing your goals. Your character's suit of armor, called a nano-suit, gives you superhuman like abilities to help you out. You can use maximum armor if you prefer a run and gun approach, maximum strength if you want to throw things at people with superhuman strength, maximum speed if you want to do things as fast as you possibly can, and finally clock if you want to use stealth to attack people. There are also several vehicles you can use to help wreak havoc on the enemies. Because there are several ways to complete your missions, this game becomes a lot more fun, as you can technically do whatever you want to complete your goals. The gameplay of this game may be like a lot of other first person shooters that came out before it, but because of the mechanics in this game, what's old will most likely feel new again. As for the graphics, words cannot describe how beautiful this game really is. This is literally the most graphically impressive game I have ever played. I have never played a game with better graphics than this. Everything in this game looks absolutely beautiful, from the trees and plants of the tropical forests, to the soldiers you fight, to the textures of the bases the enemies hide out in. No game even comes close to the level of graphical detail that this game has, not Skyrim, not BioShock Infinite, not Far Cry 2, none of them. The one and only problem with this game's advanced graphics is that you will need a powerful PC in order to fully experience it. Otherwise, the game will never run at the graphical efficiency that it could be running. This game can kill as many PCs as the most recent Battlefield games can, and it came out back in 2007. Still though, overall, the graphics of this game are absolutely spectacular. As for the story, it is great too. Some people may consider it a reimagining of the original Far Cry, but it is still a great story. You play as a character named Nomad, as you and your squad of nano-suit soldiers answer a distress signal from an island. While there, you must fight the Korean armed forces, and discover the hidden secrets of the island. The plot has several twists, and makes the game that much more fun to play through. While this game is not up to levels of other games in terms of story, it is still a great story nonetheless. Overall, this is fantastic game, that perfectly shows everything that is good in PC gaming. This game has fun gameplay, a great story, and spectacular graphics that make even the Xbox One and Playstation 4's graphics look bad. It is a truly great game for PC that absolutely must be played. Just make sure that your PC is up to the task. After all, this game's graphical requirements may kill most PCs. Gameplay: 9/10 Graphics: 10/10 Story: 9/10 Overall: 9/10

Assassin's Creed II. After I got my Xbox 360, there was one franchise I really wanted to try because all of my friends at school played it and said it was good, and that franchise was Assassin's Creed. Because this game was cheap at a Gamestop, I decided to buy the game and give it a try. So, is this game the one my friends all love, or are they completely wrong in saying this is an amazing game? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game could fuel pretty much any generic action open world game. There is literally nothing that Assassin's Creed really does that makes it stand out from the rest of the open world sandbox games out there other than its setting. I'll admit, the setting of this game is unique, just like Far Cry 2 (ironically enough, they were both made by the exact same developer), as the game takes place in Renaissance Italy. There was no other game out there that used this setting before this game, so it is very unique. However, the big question here is: does the setting of this game save it? Unfortunately, unlike Far Cry 2, no. Far Cry 2 was unique because it was an open world shooter. Before that game came out, this had never been done before. However, Assassin's Creed's gameplay is basically Grand Theft Auto if it were set during the Renaissance. Every kind of mission from the GTA series is in this game, except that it is set during the Renaissance, and there are no cars of any sort. There is another big difference however: there are no guns in the game at any point whatsoever. Instead, you must resort to slashing people with swords and knives to kill them. This can be fun, however, it is still nothing we haven't seen before, as the game resembles a more beat'em up centric style. There is also quite a bit of stealth involved, but stealth in this game really is not as fun as it could be. Even the stealth in this game is nothing we haven't seen before. All you have to do is hide in the shadows, and attack unsuspecting enemies that might wander near you. Not to mention, by the time of this game's release, Batman Arkham Asylum was already out, and it took stealth and beat'em ups to a whole new level. While the gameplay of this game can be fun, it is nothing special, and overall, nothing we haven't seen before. As for the graphics, they are also on the just okay side. They would look good on the original Xbox, but not on the 360. You could make the argument that this game came out in the early days of the Xbox 360, but I would immediately counter that argument by naming five games that came out before this game, and looked better than this: Far Cry 2, Crysis, BioShock, Fallout 3, Mass Effect. That's not to say the graphics are all bad, they actually do look good in some parts. They just don't look as good as other games that came out before it. The setting looks beautiful, but the character models need some work. The character models all look a little weird, perhaps a little too bright, but the setting is nice. The graphics of this game are dated in some spots, but look great in others. As for the story, it ****, and not much more needs to be said about it. Still though, I'll go into it anyway. Basically, you play as a man named Ezio Auditore. A lot of people said they love Ezio, but I personally think he's overrated. In fact, I don't like him at all. He's basically just an Italien version of Spider-Man who makes out with women a little more. Speaking of Spider-Man, I noticed several moments in this game that not only rip off Spider-Man, but other heroes as well. For instance, Ezio's family is murdered, and he rose from this to become a hero. This is practically the same story as that of Batman, Spider-Man, Harry Potter, Luke Skywalker, and Superman. They all lost family members (in Superman's case, it was his entire race), and they all rose from this to become heroes. They also throw in a story set in the present, but this story is so terrible, that I'm surprised they kept it for the other games in the series. Not only does it make the story more confusing then it needs to be, but you'll also find it to be a complete rip-off of the Matrix. The hero goes into a computer program to save the world. Overall, the story of this game is just bad. Overall, I have no idea what my friends were talking about. If you ask me, this game deserves a rent more than anything else. The only people I can really recommend this game to are people who love the Renaissance, and no one else. For everyone else, it would be best just to skip this game entirely, and get Batman Arkham Asylum instead. It is so much better than this game. Gameplay: 5/10 Graphics: 6/10 Story: 3/10 Overall: 5/10

Mass Effect 2. A little while back, I reviewed Mass Effect 1. It was an amazing game despite having some flaws. Now I've totally played through the game's sequel, and the time has come to review it. So, did BioWare improve on the flaws of Mass Effect 1 and make this game better than its predecessor, or is this game the average rushed **** sequel to an amazing game? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game has seen several improvements over its predecessor. The frame rate no longer dips, and there are fewer bugs and glitches. The Mako (the vehicle in Mass Effect 1 that you needed to roam around large scale planets that was very difficult to control) has been removed from the game entirely (Thank you!). The gameplay also feels a lot more like a third-person shooter now then it did in Mass Effect 1, which focused a bit more on the RPG elements than the shooter elements. This is a good change, because it makes the game that much more fun to play. Weapons now require ammo unfortunately, however, this is nothing to worry about, as there is plenty of ammo scattered around for you to pick up. This is just the combat aspect of the game however. This game also involves talking to people and aliens on planets all across the galaxy to advance through more missions in the game. This has also been improved greatly from Mass Effect 1. In Mass Effect 1, the only way to get the most enjoyment out of the game outside of the story is by completing seemingly pointless side missions. Now there is an even better version of these side missions. Your crew members will all have their own special missions for you to complete for them, that flesh out their characters more than the ones in Mass Effect 1. The other side missions are still there, but you'll find that the character missions will take up more of your time than these side missions. Of course, the RPG elements of this game still exist, but they have been streamlined to be less confusing than that of Mass Effect 1. Leveling up is now made simpler because there are less skills to choose from, which actually makes the game better than you might think. The gameplay of this game improves on Mass Effect 1's in virtually every possible way. As for the graphics, they also see quite a bit of improvement from the first game. The bland open planet environments that forced you to use the Mako to get around are now gone. They have been replaced by far more beautiful planets to explore. There is quite a variety of planets to explore in Mass Effect 2, and they are all as beautiful as a planet can get. The character models in this game are probably the best I've ever seen in a video game. It is one of the only Unreal Engine games I know that manages to use the engine to its full potential. Everything in this game is about as beautiful as a Science-Fiction game can get. Believe it or not, the story of this game has actually improved even more on the already spectacular story of Mass Effect 1! Mass Effect 2's story starts two years after the events of the first game. In that time, your character died in a battle that claimed your ship, but you are brought back to life by a corporation called Cerberus. You are recruited by a man who calls himself the Illusive Man, who tells you an alien race called the Collectors has been attacking human colonies. The rest of the story involves you trying to destroy the Collectors before they wipe out life in the galaxy. Once again, like in the first game, the decisions you make in this game's story will determine if your character will follow a good or evil path. The best part about this game's story however, is that you can import your character from Mass Effect 1, and several of the characters that you met in the first game will most likely reappear in the second (provided you did not kill them of course). Your character will look the same, and work the same as he did in Mass Effect 1. This improves on the story in pretty much every way. Overall, this is a game that improves on its predecessor in every possible way. It is a truly amazing game that absolutely must be played. The only real downside to this game is that if you haven't played the first game, you might be lost in this game's story, so it might be a good idea to play the original game before playing the sequel. Mass Effect. It is quite shocking that before I bought the game just last week, I had never played Mass Effect before. I've heard that this series has been critically acclaimed by critics, and was massively successful, but none of my friends got into it, so I never really got into it. Then I noticed the complete trilogy at a Gamestop, and I decided that maybe now is a good time to try this series out. So, is this game as good as the critics say it is, or are the critics dumb as a sack of hammers? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game is a mixture between third-person shooters, and action RPGs. You control a man named Commander Shepard from an over-the-shoulder viewpoint, and you fight enemies with your standard gunplay. This game also has a cover system, which allows you to take cover behind walls, and other objects that might be where you are fighting. There are also RPG elements that allow you to use special abilities during all of the action. These special abilities can help you fight. However, this is just the game's combat. There is so much more to the game than just that. This game is much more of an RPG than a third-person shooter. There are also several parts in the game that involve going around and talking to people, buying new weapons, and exploring the worlds of the Milky Way Galaxy. There are several side quests and other missions to undertake aside from the game's main story. Of course there is also leveling up as with most RPGs. This gameplay is very fun and exciting, and well worth the experience. However, there is one problem with the gameplay that I have a lot of trouble getting over: the Mako. The Mako is a vehicle you often have to use to drive around different planets in the game. It often will get stuck on terrain, and it is extremely difficult to control, making it difficult not to get just a little annoyed with the exploration of other planets in the game. There are also a few bugs and glitches, and the frame rate takes dips here and there, but they don't get in the way of an otherwise solid experience. This is a very fun game to play, but the Mako sections could use a lot more polish, and better driving mechanics. As for the graphics, while I can't say they are the best graphics I've ever seen in a video game, they are great to say the least. The character models look very good, and rich with detail. The ships all look good too. However, I'd say that only some of the environments actually truly look beautiful. Many of the planets in Mass Effect lack detail. The only ones that really seem to have any amount of detail put into them are the ones involved in the main story. The other ones in the game look like just random environments cobbled together to make a large landscape for the Mako to drive on. That's not to say that they look terrible, because they certainly don't. I just wish that the planets had more details on them like more diverse amounts of buildings, and other things like that. The graphics of this game are beautiful, but I sort of wish the environments were just a little better. The story however, is the best part of the entire game. You take control of Commander Shepard, and this character is totally your own character. You get to create him from the start of the game, choose what he specializes in, and what background he has. You also get to decide how events in the story play out. You can choose both good and bad options throughout this game's story, and they'll have a great effect on the rest of the game. As for the story itself, basically you find out that an ancient robotic race called the Reapers is coming to destroy all organic life in the universe, and it's up to you to stop them from ever attacking. This story is very unique in how it revolves entirely around you, and that's what makes it so amazing. Overall, I have to say that the critics were right when they said that this game was an amazing experience. This game is really fun to play, has great graphics, and a spectacular story. This game is a must-buy if you love science fiction, RPGs, or even if you are just a normal gamer. Gameplay: 9/10 Graphics: 9/10 Story: 10/10 Overall: 9/10

Spider-Man Web of Shadows. I reviewed the Amazing Spider-Man yesterday in order to build up hype for the sequel which came out today. Before the game finally unlocks on Steam, I felt like I should review this little old Spider-Man game from 2008. This game's premise has a lot of potential. It's about what could happen if Spider-Man's black suit got a little more out of control then normal. In other words, it gets to the point where all of New York is invaded by a symbiote horde that takes control of citizens, and its up to Spider-Man to team up with who's left, and stop them. So, does this game's potential build up to an absolutely fantastic game, or does this game hide in the shadows while the rest of the Spider-Man games take home all of the glory? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game has many of the same problems as most other Spider-Man games. In other words, I'll sum it up with the following question: Could the gameplay be anymore redundant? The gameplay of this game is very repetitive. You'll find that you're fighting many of the same enemies over and over again. The entire game is set in an open world New York City for Spider-Man to swing around in. It starts out the way it normally does in most Spider-Man games, but as the game progresses, more and more people get infected with symbiotes, and the city eventually becomes consumed by them. Spider-Man has a symbiote of his own, and you can switch between his regular suit and his black suit at anytime. Both suits have a completely different fighting style. Red suit Spider-Man relies mostly on web attacks and speed, where black suit Spider-Man relies entirely on brute strength and raw power. I thought this was really cool. Despite this however, the gameplay is still very redundant. As I said, you'll be fighting many of the same enemies over and over, with few variations whatsoever to the combat. Most of the combat is literally just mashing the x button. The combat is much more explosive than any other Spider-Man game, but that's about the only real difference here. There are also some pretty entertaining boss battles in this game which can be very fun to play. However, the end of these battles is almost always a quick-time event, which can be very frustrating, especially if you think quick-time events ****. I also encountered a lot of bugs and glitches while playing Web of Shadows. They range from game freezes to instant death for no good reason. I wouldn't say that this game's gameplay is bad, but I don't think it's good either. It's more on the lukewarm side. As for the graphics, they are also on the lukewarm side. The graphics of this game are decent, but don't quite reach what I've come to expect from a home console like the Xbox 360. Before anyone even mentions that this game was from 2008, let me just say that The Orange Box and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion were both already out by the time of this game's release, and they looked absolutely stunning in the graphics department. Therefore, saying that this game was from 2008 is pretty much no excuse. The graphics of this game look only slightly upgraded from last gen. In other words, they come so close to looking like graphics that on the original Xbox rather than the 360. However, they just barely qualify as 360 graphics. The graphics of this game are decent overall, but not great. As for the story, this is probably the game's strongest aspect. Overall, the game's story is great. I already told you the premise, a symbiote invasion in New York. However, that's not the best part of the story. What is the best part of this game's story is how you get to decide what happens. Throughout the game, you have to decide the fate of the people who want to help you in New York. You can choose either the red suit path (good path) or the black suit path (bad path). You'll see what I mean if you get this game. The voice acting in this game is rather terrible however, and there are a few parts of the story that don't totally add up, but overall, I think the story of the game is great. This is a game that I can easily recommend to die hard Spider-Man fans. They will love this game very much. To everyone else however, I don't believe you'll be missing out on much if you don't get this game. The story is good, but everything else is a bit on the lukewarm side. The Amazing Spider-Man. Let me start off by saying that I love superheroes, so as you can imagine, I am a huge fan of Spider-Man. I've also played several video games based on Spider-Man. I've played Spider-Man **** Dimensions, Spider-Man 2 the game, Ultimate Spider-Man, and heck, even Spider-Man Web of Shadows. So yes, before I played this game, I played many of Spider-Man's best video games out there. This game was released to tie in with the new movie that came out just a few days after this game. Considering that most movie-based games are known to ****, many of you are probably asking, why did I get this game? Well, Spider-Man 2 the game tied in with the movie, and I actually liked it better than the movie believe it or not, so I had to play this game. So is this game like Spider-Man 2 in which it makes the movie its based on look bad, or should you just watch the movie instead? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game is very similar to Rocksteady's Batman Arkham games. In other words, you can beat each mission using either a stealthy approach, or a beat'em up approach. Of course, Spider-Man has his own twists that make him different from Batman, otherwise this game would just be a complete clone of Batman Arkham City. Spider-Man relies more on his web shooters than Batman's gadgets for example. He is also much more acrobatic than Batman, and he can cling to walls in the shadows to get away from enemies rather than gargoyles. Outside of the game's main levels, the entire city of New York is also available for Spider-Man to explore and do missions in. Of course the real question would be: is this game's gameplay actually better than Arkham? No, not at all really. For example, it is way too easy. Even on the game's hard difficulty you will not find much of a challenge here, where Arkham provided a challenge at pretty much every turn. The game is also really redundant. You'll find that you are doing many of the same things over and over again just to succeed. That's not to say the game isn't fun, because it definitely is. Even the most redundant of tasks can be rather fun to play. However, after a long while, you just might get bored of doing the same missions over and over in New York. Also, I found an odd bug in this game that renders it unplayable. All I can say is, for your own good, don't even try to get any of the game's alternate costumes for Spidey. This creates a bug in which, after you finish the game, you are greeted with an infamous "Neverending loading screen of death". However, if you just don't get the alternate costumes to begin with, you should be fine. Overall, this game's gameplay is fine as it is. It just isn't Arkham. As for the graphics, they look great, but not absolutely fantastic. The city of New York is beautiful, and the details look good enough, but the game also looks a little blurry and weird. The character models are also a mixed bag. Some, like Spider-Man's look good, but others just look weird, and look like something out of a Nintendo Gamecube, rather than a current-gen console like the Xbox 360. I'd say that the graphics of this game look great overall, but they aren't quite as spectacular as I would've hoped. As for the story, I think that it is the best part of the game. It is very original, and is actually set after the events of the movie. Basically what happens is after the Lizard attempted to take over Manhattan (see the movie!), Oscorp has been hard at work creating more test subjects like the Lizard (more human animal hybrids). They get loose, spreading an infectious disease, and it's up to Spider-Man to stop them. I'd say that this game's story is actually better than the movie it's based on. I can't say this game is fantastic, nor is it better than the movie (anywhere other than the story). However, I still say that this is a game that if you want to buy, go right ahead. It is a great game, it really is, one of Spider-Man's best as a matter of fact. The real problem is, it doesn't really aim higher than many of the Spider-Man games that came before it. I just hope that its sequel can do better. Gameplay: 7/10 Graphics: 8/10 Story: 9/10 Overall: 8/10

Rising Storm. World War II has never really been my favorite setting for a video game. Don't get me wrong, I love when video games try to use that setting, but at the same time, it is also kind of unoriginal because there are only SO many WWII games out there. I decided to try this game out however because it was free on Steam for one day only. I'd also like to say that before I played this game, I had already played two other games set in WWII: Day of Defeat Source and Forgotten Hope 2 (a mod for Battlefield 2). I wasn't a huge fan of either of those, so you can probably see why I am not entirely into World War II as a video game setting. So, is this finally the game that impressed me enough with the World War II theme for me to recommend it to you, or do I have to keep looking for that game? Let's find out. It's worth noting that this game is technically two games in one. The first game is Rising Storm, which shows the second World War as it took place in the Pacific, between America and Japan. The second is Red Orchestra 2, which is set in Eastern Europe, and shows the battle between the **** and the Soviet Union. Both games play very much the same with no real differences whatsoever (other than the setting and armies). As for the actual gameplay, all I can say is that for the most part, it's fantastic. This game provides a realistic World War II experience, with some elements found in a lot of other shooters as well. Most of the time, you can be killed in one shot, and you must coordinate your attacks along with your teammates. There are also multiple gameplay modes. The first gameplay mode is territories. This is the game's main gameplay mode. It functions very much like attack and defend or control points in Team Fortress 2, or Battlefield's conquest game mode. While this mode has been used before as you can see, the game makes up for it with a sense of realism not found in either of those games. I have never seen another shooter pull off realism quite so well as this game. This game really succeeds at making you feel like you're actually a soldier in World War II. It does this by having you hold your breath to aim better, use cover, and even blind firing. The other two game modes are countdown and firefight. Countdown is like conquest, only this time, everyone has only one life, and the focus is on just one control point at a time. The offense must capture four control points in a row to win. If the defense stops them even once, then defense automatically wins. Firefight is basically team deathmatch, and not much else. As I said, these modes are a lot like those already found in other shooters. However, because of the sense of realism in this game alone, these experiences suddenly feel fresh and new again. There are also several maps to play on, so you don't have to worry about getting bored with only three game modes. The only other problem with the gameplay I can see are the game's tanks. I found piloting tanks in this game confusing and cumbersome. This can get in the way, but considering very few maps seem to have those, and they are usually optional, they are not much of a problem. This game is very fun, even with a few hiccups here and there. As for the graphics, oh my goodness where do I begin? The graphics of this game are beautiful. This game manages to capture the look of World War II better than any other WWII game I know. The character models could use some work, but that's about it. As for the presentation, it's good too. The A.I. isn't quite as good as I would want it to be, but it's still good enough to get the job done. It is also relatively easy to set up a server with bots if you just want to play by yourself. The training missions are also good, and allow you to hone your skills against targets, and practice various maneuvers in order to be good on the real field of battle. Still though, no matter how it tries to make tank driving less confusing, it is still confusing as heck. Overall, I'd say that this game is well worth your time and money. The game modes are nothing we haven't seen before, but the realism of this game more than makes up for it. The graphics of this game are very beautiful, and use the Unreal Engine to its full potential. The presentation of the game is nice too. I just wish the tanks weren't so confusing to play with. I can safely say: yes, I have finally found a World War II game that has impressed me enough, and I can indeed recommend it to you. Gameplay: 8/10 Graphics: 9/10 Presentation: 8/10 Overall: 8/10

Far Cry 2. This may upset some people, but I did not like Far Cry 1 all that much. It was okay, however, after I played the game Crysis, I felt like the original was nothing more than a tech demo version of that. This is not surprising as they were both made by the exact same developer. As for the sequel, it is actually more of a brand new game than a real sequel. It is this way because it has a completely different setting, and has nothing to do with the events of Far Cry 1. This should go without saying that you do not need to play Far Cry 1 before you play Far Cry 2. So does this open world shooter bring more wows than its predecessor, or was the new setting crappy and dull enough to make this game ****? Let's find out. This game's gameplay is absolutely spectacular. It is a truly open world first person shooter with few enclosed environments, and very few loading screens. As stated, this game is open world. You get to do what you want, and not even care about the story of this game. The open world is done very well. There are many missions you can undertake outside of the main story, and there are many more things to do. The first person shooter elements are handled quite well too. This game plays like your average first person shooter, using WASD to move, and the mouse to fire and all that stuff. One element in this game that is very unique to the gameplay (aside from combining the open world and shooter genres), is how realistic it all is. This game is literally the most realistic game I have ever played. This adds several good elements to the game, but it also adds a few bad ones. Healing is a good one. Along with this, being a character struck with malaria also adds a nice twist to make the game a little bit harder than your average shooter. However, one bad thing about this element of realism is that weapons have a tendency to jam. The more you use your weapon, the dirtier it gets, and the more likely it is to jam. When a weapon jams, you have a few precious seconds to unjam it before it explodes in your face and you have to replace it. Another problem with this game is how redundant it is. It is not Call of Duty levels redundant, however, it is redundant enough to get annoying. For example, there is so much back tracking to do in just about all of this game's missions, and this usually leads you to encounters at enemy bases you have already cleared. Redundancy and realism aside, the gameplay is still really good. As for the graphics, this game handles them well too. The graphics in this game are absolutely stunning. They are among the best graphics I've ever seen in a video game. All the textures in this game are very beautiful, and very detailed. The characters look good enough, but the setting is the most beautiful part. As a matter of fact, the setting is so well designed, that it may as well be the best part of the entire game. It is set in Africa, and it shows, through its amazing savannah, and its beautiful jungles. Even the cities and villages in this game look beautiful. The graphics in this game are so beautiful it's crazy. As for the story, it falls under the pretty good, but not great category. Basically, you are a mercenary sent to kill an arms dealer named the Jackal who has armed both sides of a conflict in an unknown African nation. The premise alone is very good, however, the character development in this game is pretty bad. None of the characters are well developed, and you never learn anything about them. The setting of this game somewhat makes up for this, however, there is one problem with it that I just can't get over: not enough African wildlife. There are only a few zebras and wildebeests here and there, and not much else. The story of this game is pretty good overall, but not as good as it could be. Overall, I'd say that this game is quite good. It is not the best game ever made or anything, however, it is still very good, and worth playing through. I recommend this game to anyone who just wants to play a shooter set in Africa. This game would suit them perfectly Gameplay: 8/10 Graphics: 10/10 Story: 7/10 Overall: 8/10

Team Fortress 2. As soon as I saw the Meet the Team trailers for this game, I knew I had to have it. These trailers were so well done, that I think that just one of them would be a perfect short that plays before a movie. As for the actual game, I finally got my chance to play it at Christmas time in the year 2011 when I got it with the Orange Box, which also came with Half-Life 2 and Portal. So is this game as amazing as I had hoped it would be from the awesome trailers, or is the game just your average class-based multiplayer shooter with cartoony graphics? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game is just about the most fun gameplay imaginable in a video game. The entire game is a class-based multiplayer first-person shooter. There are several different modes of play in this game. There is attack and defend, which is a mode where the blu team (no, I did not just spell "blue" wrong, that is really how the team is spelled in the game) attacks control points, and the red team defends them. The blu team needs to capture these points before time runs out, while the red team needs to defend them until time runs out. There is also king of the hill, where both teams must compete over a central control point, and hold it for a certain amount of time. Then there's capture the flag, which is capturing the enemy's briefcase of intelligence while defending your own. There are many more modes, but these are just to name a few. You begin each mode by choosing the class you want to play as out of all nine classes in the game. The classes are scout, soldier, pyro, demoman, heavy, engineer, medic, sniper, and spy. All of these classes are very fun to play as because they are all totally different in both gameplay and personality. The scout is the fastest class in the game, and is good for quick offensive raids. The soldier is the most balanced class in the game, with average speed, and a very powerful rocket launcher. Pyro can set things on fire with his flamethrower at close range, and that's all that really needs to be said. The Demoman has a grenade launcher, which he can use to lob grenades at enemies. The heavy is the most powerful class in the game, and can destroy everything with his minigun. The engineer can build turrets and dispensers to help defend locations. The medic can heal everyone on the go with his medigun. The sniper can take out enemies from a distance with his sniper rifle, and the spy can disguise himself as the enemy, and back-stab them with his knife. As for what I mean by different personalities, I mean that the classes themselves are essentially their own characters in the game. They all come from different countries, have different back stories, and even have their own sense of humor and quotes. Because the classes of this game are all so different, this makes the game utterly unique compared to other multiplayer shooters. The game has many unique game modes to play as well. This game is so much more than your average first-person shooter, and that's a good thing. It went so far to be unique, and succeeded spectacularly. As for the graphics, let's just say, if you thought the gameplay of this game was unique, just wait till you see the graphics. Not only is the gameplay different from the average first-person shooter, but the graphics are different as well. Most shooters try for a realistic approach to graphics, making everything look as close to life as possible. This game however, does the exact opposite, it tries to make the game look as cartoony as possible. That's right, this game's graphics go for the cartoony approach rather than the realistic one like most shooters. Of course, the real question is, does this game succeed with this cartoony approach? I can happily say that the answer is yes. The game not only looks beautiful, but it also fits the already zany feel of the game. As for the presentation, it is one of the best I've ever seen in a multiplayer shooter. Everything in this game handles well, and everything is easy to use and access. Overall, I'd say if you don't have this game, you need to get it now! This is a game that everyone in the world needs to play. It has spectacular gameplay, beautiful graphics, and a wonderful presentation to top it all off. Gameplay: 10/10 Graphics: 10/10 Presentation: 10/10 Overall: 10/10

Counter-Strike Source was a game that I enjoyed from the moment I started playing it. It was a really fun modern warfare game that showed a new side to the genre in which instead of two armies facing each other, it was more **** of cops and robbers, or in this case terrorists vs counter-terrorists. Now finally a sequel has been released titled Global Offensive. At first glance, people may think that it's just Source with more modern graphics. However, under those shiny new graphics, there is also far more to this game lying in its exterior. Because it is a multiplayer only game, it does not have an actual story mode. Therefore, unlike my reviews in the past, I will not be talking about the story. I will instead be talking about its presentation as a whole. So, does this game make its predecessors look bad, or should gamers just keep playing Source until the next millennium? Let's find out. As I stated, this is a multiplayer game, so the entire game revolves around the whole multiplayer experience. This game does not change much at all from the original Counter-Strike games. There are two teams (under tournament circumstances and bot matches, there are five on each team), and both sides can win either by killing everyone on the opposing team, or completing an objective. Different from the originals? No. Is this bad? Heck no! The gameplay of Counter-Strike was what made it so special in the first place. The gameplay still feels fast, furious, fun and fresh after all these years. It manages to keep these old modes, and also add new ones. The new gameplay mode additions to this game are called Arms Race, and Demolition. Arms Race is a mode where players compete for kills and get increasingly more powerful weapons with each kill. The winner is the first player to get kills with every weapon in the game. As for demolition, it is a much more traditional game of Counter-Strike, but instead of buying weapons at the end of every round, weaker weapons are awarded based on the amount of kills that you have. These new gameplay modes are a welcome addition to the game, and add more to Counter-Strike then it ever had before. Overall, the gameplay of this game is as fantastic as it has ever been. The graphics are probably the best of any Source Engine game as of yet released. Everything in this game looks absolutely stunning and beautiful. From the character models to the weapons, this game makes even its competitors look bad. Okay, that might be overstating it just a little. The source engine, though great, does not beat the graphical power of Dice's frostbite engine used for the Battlefield series. That's not to say the games graphics are bad, after all I just said they are fantastic. They just aren't Battlefield's. They are still better than Call of Duty however. The presentation is nice too. The U.I. is done very well, and so is the A.I. The A.I. is very intelligent and does its job very well. It has very good multiplayer servers. The maps are all very nice as well. It has many classic Counter-Strike maps, along with new ones. However, while this game's presentation is nice, there is one big problem that it will never overcome. It will never have the same lasting impact that Source and the original left on the gaming community. Sure it looks better, but it will probably never have the fanbase that Source has always had. This game is still fantastic on its own right however. Overall, I'd say that this game is totally worth buying, even if you have never played Counter-Strike before. That is why I recommend it to everyone who wants to play. Gameplay: 10/10 Graphics: 9/10 Presentation: 8/10 Overall: 9/10

Back in the year 2007, the company Irrational Games released BioShock, which was a fantastic first person shooter that brought new things to the table that brought a more unique flare to the tried and true FPS genre. This game had an amazing storyline, superpowers that change the way the game can be played, and beautiful graphics. The game was fantastic, and critically acclaimed by critics and FPS fans alike. Then in 2010, a sequel called BioShock 2 was released. This game was not made by the same developer. Despite this however, the game was considered great, but not as good as its predecessor. Now the series is back with BioShock Infinite, a game with a different setting from the first two games, but is still made by the developer of the first game. So, does this game live up to the legacy of its predecessors, or should the developers have just stuck with the original setting? Let's find out. The gameplay of this game is very similar to its predecessors. It is a first person shooter with many weapons for you to mess around with. This game has all of the weapons that an FPS fan could ask for. It has machine guns, shotguns, pistols, and even grenade launchers. This may sound like your generic FPS at first, but this game also has something that changes the gameplay quite a bit. You also have these amazing superpowers called vigors. Vigors give your character special powers such as the ability to throw fire into your enemy's faces, zapping them with lightning, and even murdering them with a horde of crows. Overall, this game's gameplay is not much different from it's predecessors at all, except that it seems to appeal more to the modern FPS fan then a classic one. After all, this time you can only have two weapons at a time, and you can only wield two vigors at a time. However, this isn't much of a problem considering that it is still fun to play despite this restriction. The gameplay of this game is quite fantastic overall. The graphics of this game have got to be the most beautiful I have ever seen in any video game. I'm not kidding. This game's graphics are just so beautiful it is crazy. Everything is rich with detail, along with being bright and colorful. The setting is probably the most beautiful part however. It is a city in the clouds that is filled with posters, billboards and the like talking about how amazing the place is. The people in the game are realistic looking, the clouds in the sky are a nice touch, and I could go on and on. This game is about as beautiful as a modern FPS can get. As for the story, it is quite possibly the best story that I have ever heard in my life. That is not a joke. This story is so amazing it is ridiculous. It starts with you, the main character Booker DeWitt, who is threatened with death if he doesn't complete his mission. His mission is to "Bring us the girl and wipe away the debt,". This girl is Elizabeth, who you will meet later in the game, who will be your sidekick later on. Along the way, you get caught up in a conflict with the game's main villain, Zachary Hale Comstock who created the city of Columbia, which is where the game takes place. The story is told like a classic animated Disney movie, and is filled with themes such as racism and religion. The story is handled quite fantastically, and is told very well. Overall, this game definitely lives up to the legacy of its predecessors. It is a game that absolutely everyone needs to play. It is one of the best games I have ever played in my life. My only real problem with it is that it is too much like a modern shooter, where the other games in the franchise were more like a classic FPS.
