Despite not being visually the most beautiful game, this game is literally magic and features an experience not offered in other games. The open world is a reasonable scale. The story, works and characters is where this game shines. Tons of customization, missions, upgrades and spells. This is a fantastic game.
The story is bad, especially the DLC Havik story. Still a beautiful game, fun to play, heavy heavy tilt towards modern audiences which is what damages the story. The development team is talented. Let them make the game without the modern messaging and you will get a great product.
There is no other game like it. I’ve never played a game where you can destroy so much of the levels. There is stuff hidden everywhere. Visually the game is WOW. A huge amount of the game is exploration. Combat is fun and frantic, though very easy. Is it as good as Mario Odyssey, no it is not. But it is a fun, fast paced and amazing adventure. It’s a 9 due to uniqueness and fun.
I’m not a fan of all the design choices, like WNBA players in MyTeam, but the gameplay, visuals and presentation across all modes is at the top of the 2K series. Most negative reviews are people playing MyCarrier and upset they either have to grind non stop or pay hard cash to get their IMAGINARY 99 player. I barely play this mode, in large part because the online community consists of ball hogs only focused on individual stats.
This is not a great game. Cars are slow. Story is a waste and unwatchable. The worst issue are the terrible challenges that were included and required to advance to allow the developers to limit the number of tracks by using these as filler. Far worse than Transformed.
Wow, what a difference a year makes! The presentation this year is amazing! Better crowds, more life, better lighting and the bands are absolutely incredible. Dynasty gameplay, finally a game that plays like real football! Last season, way too many interceptions, solution, run to the outside. In my experience, most teams played very similarly on CFB 25. All of this is fixed! Having to really mix it up on offense, adapt to a less than stellar o line with quicker plays. You cannot abuse outside runs, you are forced to read the defense and run accordingly. Passing, fantastic, very real stats so far. Absolutely love dynasty mode this year! Graphics and sound, the lighting is such a huge improvement! Much better looking game and much better animations and tackling. The bands, the sounds, love it!
2025 GOTY. This game is art. The characters, the sounds, the story, the environments. Once you start playing, it’s hard to stop. For someone who doesn't enjoy roguelike games, the game is challenging. Bit not on the get angry and quit, but in the keep trying and get better way. You will learn and master the dodge and parry systems. Remember enemy attacks and weaknesses and improve. Truly a masterpiece. This is WHY we are gamers. Updated: Combat gets very repetitive after 15 hours. Story segments are sparse but repetitive combat is constant.
Way underrated. This is by far the best game in the series. Tons of characters. Solid story with excellent animation. Is it perfect, no. Were the first two as good as this one, absolutely not and I still have both for my 360. Better frame rate and cameras, and I’d give it a 10 because it is one of the best Marvel games of the’ past 20 years. A must play Switch title.
By far the worst in the series history. Mechanically broken. The gameplay is absolutely terrible. The courts are bland, the graphics are far worse than 2K19. Stadiums and fans are boring, lifeless and bland. Halftime activities ****. Cheerleaders look like monster squad. Presentation ****. The AI is pure garbage. MyTeam is okay, but MyGM and MyNBA is garbage. Post play ****. Shooting ****. Dribbling ****. Where is the talented team that gave us 2K19, 2K16 and 2K17? This series died with NBA 2K25. I will never buy it again.
Made for “modern audiences”, featuring a heavy focus on “the message”. Enough already game developers! How many of you have to go broke before you stop this madness? Your “modern audience” is maybe 2-3% of the global population and that’s being very generous.
Simply put, this game is incredible. The mechanics take a little while to become proficient at, but once you do, wow! Visually this is a stunning game. I’d say 30fps on performance, but the game is hood enough to ignore this. Engaging characters and supernatural plot. The action, enemy variety and wild settings make this an amazing game.
Easily the most enjoyable football game since All Pro Football 2K8. The experience and pageantry of college football is here! The sights, the sounds, graphics are crisp and controls are responsive. Playbooks are far more balanced, good teams are good, bad teams are bad. Receivers get separation if they are superior. RB’s can actually pull off Jules and spins versus getting “attached” to defenders. Recruiting, complex but wow! 138 schools with their own stadiums, fans, atmosphere. It’s not perfect, and the gave just released so u can see further optimization via patches, etc. but overall an excellent experience.
Absolutely incredible! I’m a gamer that has preferred the Mortal Kombat series. The latest, MK1 is very disappointing. So I decided to check out Tekken 8 and I’m like wow! Characters are great, graphics fantastic, sound in music are awesome. Tons of customization and coins for upgrading are easy to come by. There’s also paid customization, but you don’t have to go there. Huge variety of gameplay modes. Including a very nice single player story and individual character missions. I’m not big on playing these games online, but this one does a great job of matchmaking. I simply cannot recommend this game enough. It is fantastic.
This is the most amazing 8/10 game I’ve ever played, but that is the score it deserves. The characters, story (cannot emphasize this enough!), musical score and large scale battles are absolutely amazing. It grips you and compels you to keep playing for hours at a time. That said, there are many things I wish the developer did differently. Side quests - waste of time. Textures are flat. Graphically it is unimpressive, except in boss battles, where the screen is ablaze in color. Difficulty is either Story or Action on the first playthrough, and Action is on the easy side for most gamers. There is a harder mode in Game+. NPC’s talk for too long. Character customization is limited. The game is linear, there is no true open world and no puzzles to challenge you.Writing this review, I am 38% complete and I absolutely love the game. I think to get that feel, you will have to stick with the game for a few hours until it truly draws you in. It amazes me how the story and large scale battles can draw you in and make you want to keep playing, while the game has the other flaws that I mentioned.
First, this is a simulation racing video game. Designed to provide a video game version of real racing, not an arcade game. It succeeds at its main goal. The racing is fast, competitive and fun, whether you choose to play through the career vs AI racers, or play the frenetic online multiplayer. What the game lacks is polish, it could look better, but it doesn’t look bad. The career mode is very “dry”, meaning no fancy track flyovers, no personality or charm. I’d love to see just a little bit of the personality and charm from the Horizon series here. Car customization is extensive and accurate, and honestly required. I love the actual racing, but I’d love it more with more polish and personality. Highly recommended and my score reflects that some things are missing, though the core game is solid.
It’s another Spider-Man game. In my first play through and I will finish this review when done. So far graphics are on par with the previous ones, some fluff time killers I could have done without and some other choices I would have passed on.
Considered buying this game earlier, but waited until the new Forza released to run them side by side. Pros - In car is highly detailed and the sounds are great. Replays are great. Look of cars and environments are beautiful and well polished.
An ugly game with bad mechanical design causing slow frame rate. Character models are terrible. I’ve had multiple characters talk at the same time offering missions. Bland shooting. Better off playing Mass Effect Legendary edition. For a new game to be this bad you need to look back at your library, because I guarantee there are many games in your collection better than this broken glitchy mess.
Revised review. I gave this game an 8 originally, but after months of play, this game is absolutely terrible. This is the last NBA 2K game I will ever buy and I’ve bought the Legendary edition for several years but thankfully skipped it this season. They ruined MyTeam and the MyGM mode is horrible. Didn’t play MyCareer.
Just picked this up in 2023. My favorite N4S prior to this was 2005 on X360, still a great game. I’ve been playing NFS Heat, much better than Unbound. That said, NFS Most Wanted Wii U is much more fun to play and much more authentic NFS. Racing is fast and furious with aggressive cops and explosive crashes. Graphics and sound are still very good by todays standards. Lots of fun, glad I finally picked this one up. Cons - No goofy cutscenes with actors, which I enjoyed on NFS MW 2005 and added the human factor.
If you love this series and the stellar fast paced combat, skip this one and stick with Bayonetta 2. The story is very poorly done, basically the meta verse comes to Bayonetta. The big issue here is the clunky combat thanks to the poorly implemented demon controls. This could have been a fun addition, but instead it’s a slow, clunky, irresponsive mechanic that you wish wasn’t included. Your favorite characters are here, but the story is so bad that they cannot make it shine. Graphically it’s worse than Bayonetta 2. Hopefully, if they make a Bayonetta 4 it will be on next Gen hardware and if we are stick with the demon control portions, they actually make those parts fun. Love my Switch but some titles need more powerful hardware and Bayonetta is suffering here.
I do not like survival horror games, but I do love this one. (Alan Wake Remastered is good too.). Gripping story, settings, sounds and surprises. Never played the original. There is constant tension thanks to the sounds, smoke effects and lighting. Definitely has the feel of playing through a sci-fi horror movie. It will grab you and you will have a hard time putting the controller down. An essential game in 2023.
Greatly improves on Splatoon 2. Bigger maps, better weapons, faster movement. Much improved campaign that tries some new things and plays out as more of a story than the tack on campaign in S2. Salmon Run always available. Really like the banners, emotes, etc. that gives you reason to keep advancing in multiplayer.
Looks like a last gen PS4/X1 game visually. The controls are responsive, but not at all accurate. Cars do not respond at all like real cars and as a result there is no drama/wow factor in playing this game. A poor choice for a racing game with much better options available. Not at all recommended.
I was as excited to see what the next steps on Cal’s journey as I was to see The Empire Strikes Back when I was a kid. The developer has done an excellent job of creating a main character and a supporting cast that I truly enjoy, short of a few of the hokie voices in Survivor. In Survivor, we are treated to a much bigger cast of allies, villains and creatures. The game world is much larger, much more alive and graphically beautiful and fits perfectly into Star Wars cannon. Honestly, this series is the best thing from the Star Wars universe since Return of the Jedi. Movement, traversal and combat are fluid. Enemies are varied. The story is compelling and the writing is solid. Cal begins where he left off in terms of abilities, getting stronger as he goes versus having to relearn and remaster abilities from Fallen Order. Everything is greatly improved from the first game. I’ve honestly been surprised just how much improved this game is over Fallen Order, the high quality textures, more open world, great choices in locations and just how beautiful the environments truly are. Amazing game, highly recommended.
This game is a story telling masterpiece. A mostly linear game with realistic stealth and combat mechanics. The acting is top notch. The settings are beautiful. The game never disappoints and has you engrossed and striving to see what is next.
Wonderful 101 is truly something different. Still have my WiiU copy, but honestly it plays better on the PS5. Loads super fast, better resolution, sound and frame rate. They added new camera zooms, they aren’t perfect but improved. With a PS4/PS5 controller you can bring up the old touchscreen style menu pretty effectively. There is the puzzle element as the game dies t exactly tell you what to do, you have to experiment as you go. It’s more addictive on the PS5 and not as clunky as it was on using the WiiU touchscreen. Like playing a comic book or cartoon, which I apparently like as I liken this to Guardians of the Galaxy. I love the game and I’d recommend it if you are in to cartoon/comic franchise games.
Surprisingly fantastic game. Mysterious atmosphere, Japanese culture, unique story and magic. The level up system, mission structure, etc. are common to most games like this currently, but this game is unique in its premise and execution. Got the game used from GameFly for $20 and well worth it so far. Truly enjoyable and better than expected.
Lots of game modes, Eras is a great addition! Player movement is improved, less log jams in the paint, crisper graphics and improved player detail. My only is the shot meter. We need a little green to allow for more accurate shooting %s. The hit spot for shots is abysmally small and if you are guarded at all, forget it.
If you want an incredibly fun arcade racer, look no further. Debated this vs the FH Hot Wheels expansion and caught this on sale with the 1st 2 DLC passes for less than $30, awesome choice! The FH Hot Wheels expansion looks much like the expansion on FH3, which I already have and enjoy. Hot Wheels Unleashed is different and fun. Hard to explain how much fun it is without trying it. They made excellent use of simple concepts.
Fantastic so far and huge improvement over Zero Dawn. Movement, combat, graphically, improvements across the board. Do not believe the negative reviews. If this was on Xbox it would easily be GOTY for Xbox. (I’ve got both, this is another great Sony exclusive.). Loving this game!
By far the worst of the Tomb Raider trilogy. Combat is infrequent and not as engaging as Rise of the TR. Mission structure is confusing and the game is far too quick to conclude. If you are playing the trilogy, go for it, but no shame in skipping this one. The first 2 are far better. Feels like a rushed game with about half the content it should have had.
Beautiful, linear action game that reminds me of a Tomb Raider style Zelda game with the ambiance of Ghost of Tsushima. This game is not really for kids, unless they are very good gamers as enemies are quite challenging and require good technique to beat. Could use a little more story development, but that air of mystery is still very cool. Solid game and if you own a PS5 you should add this to your collection.
Better than 2K21 because of better defense and AI. However, defense is overpowered and I am winning most MyTeams games via shot blocking. I literally block every shot in the paint. Overall a better game, visually better, 3 point % is more realistic and I love the new video clips for perfect 3’s, dunks and blocks. I don’t care about VC, that model has been in place for years now. Bought the 75th Anniversary Edition so decent VC and extra MyTeam packs are included.
Just started this game as it came free to PS Plus. Game looks great on PS4 Pro, another solid Sony exclusive. Sony really has the most high quality exclusive games. Great atmosphere and likable characters. Motorcycle driving could be better, character movement and controls is great. I can tell this game will become repetitive, however I still think it’s a solid worthwhile experience.
I would score this much better if the graphics on PS4 PRO didn’t look so dated and if the combat was more fluid. AC4, Origins and Odyssey all look and play better. There are new elements here like settlement building and the plot (I’m early in the game) seems to be alright.
Essential game to anyone’s library! Incredible game. Graphics, sound and special effects are excellent. The #1 aspect is how they absolutely nailed the controls, amazing. Storyline is great, love the variety of enemies and learning to dominate them with Spider-Man’s immense arsenal of tricks. Playing on a PS4 Pro now, will definitely play through again on PS5 in the future. This game is essential!
Ok, I know you all hate VC, but this game is far from a copy of 2K20. Player movement is greatly improved and it plays much more like a real NBA game than any other NBA game we have had in a long time. Visually the game looks crisper. Controls are much smoother. Animations are significantly improved and players play much more like their real life counterparts. I’m not playing MyTeam, it’s the same thing every year and I’ve been there and done that. MyPlayer is okay, like always. Gameplay is where it is at. Franchise mode is great and highly polished.
This game is pretty terrible. On normal difficulty the gameplay is very unbalanced. The best way to win a game is by killing all the opponents QB’s. This is far from satisfying. Rarely will any starters finish the game. The playbooks are extremely limited. It’s hard to tell what player you are controlling on defense. It’s really a crappy game. Heck, you cannot at all tell what’s going on trying to substitute players. Character types have no impact on gameplay and are mixed on teams so you don’t have a complete robot, alien, etc. team. It’s pure cheese.
First of all, stop lying on your User Revuews. Most of you probably don’t even have the game. If you did, you would know just what an amazing game 2K19 truly is. Stellar gameplay, improved menus, best graphics in the series to date. There are tons of gameplay options and so many customization options. Outside of the core game, there are Premium modes, MyCareer and MyTeam that will require “grinding” or you can optionally buy VC to progress faster. There are a few miscues in the launch software; controller vibration doesn’t work, speed is a tad bit slow and the soundtrack is laughably horrible. Despite that, this game is a blast to play and MyCareer is fantastic.
Believe the critic reviews here! The user reviews are way off base and I can only assume some hate from the original Destiny launch game or you prefer another game. Visually stunning, well produced cutscenes, great gunplay, some platforming and a huge variety of enemies make for a fun to play shooter. Not to mention how addictive it is to win and equip new gear making your guardian more and more powerful.
