NBA2K25 is in a class of its own in terms of sports simulation, presentation and immersion. No other game makes you truly feel you’re a superstar like this series. Great game modes, solid gameplay improvements and breath-taking visuals and animations help seal this version as a vast improvement over last year’s game. Whilst the awful microtransactions continue to infect this beloved franchise like a disease, and goofy voice acting can affect the immersion, there is still more than enough to recommend this to both veterans and newcomers to the franchise.
NBA 2K25 performs well on the court, with games feeling slightly more realistic. It offers a variety of game modes, but it remains quite similar to previous installments. Additionally, the monetization remains aggressive.
From 2K Games, we have a little better basketball here than last time. It brings smoother and more realistic gameplay, but don't expect miracles.

Apart from being another basketball game to unwind after work, it is a pretty bad entry in the series - a lot of glitches, including "Win a game" trophy, the actual gameplay feels a little "off" and a lot workarounds to get to actually play a game... this is something they already fixed in previous games and now again we have to deal with a lot of pseudo-story to get from game to gam. I liked the gym minigames though. So that's something.

NBA 2K25 takes everything from its predecessors and takes a step into greatness. With astonishing visuals, incredible immersion and tons to be getting on with, NBA 2K25 feels like the most complete iteration of basketball thus far. The microtransactions continue to bring down the entire experience, and there's a sense that it feels more like a casino than ever before, but if you have the strength to avoid them, you'll have one hell of a time.

While we felt a real leap forward between the 2022 and 2023 installments, the progression is much less dazzling this season with NBA 2K25. Only the most regular players of the license will be able to see certain new animations and the fine new features of a gameplay that is not revolutionary. The fact remains that the title is largely at the level of its generation, and is finally progressing on its usually shaky matchmaking with a few parades (the online Proving Ground mode). For those discovering the game, NBA 2K25 is a real gold mine, with single-player content further expanded with the Curry era for the My NBA mode and other immersive additions. The shadow on the board remains the micro-transaction system (VC) in individual marking of the wallet, essential to progress properly.

NBA 2K25 Review:I don’t know what 2K is doing with 2K25, but whatever direction they’re going in—it’s making the game worse than ever. It feels like they’re trying to please the wrong crowd. Everything feels hand-held, especially when you’re shooting. The mechanics are inconsistent, and it’s like the game actively punishes skilled players just to give new players a chance. And that’s the part that makes no sense—why cater to people who just picked up the game? You’re supposed to get dropped off if you’re not good. If I’m up 19-7 and decide to have fun or take it easy, the game flips momentum and suddenly turns my opponent into prime LeBron from the Heat era—it’s ridiculous. The dribbling is slow and lifeless, there’s barely any real animations, and they ruined movement completely. They took out numbered jumpers and forced player jump shots, which is still a terrible decision. Around mid-May, they introduced this weak jab-step mechanic—Kobe’s jab-step into a leaping drive from near half-court. It was broken. Then there’s the glitchy cheese—people using cutters and screen abuse where the CPU would stick cheat like crazy. Centers with 99 rebounding would get out-boarded by randoms like it’s nothing. The game is full of bugs, the realism they added took the fun away, and it doesn’t feel like 2K anymore. It’s just messy, unbalanced, and honestly, disappointing.

Micro-transactions aside, NBA 2K25 is one of the best sports games to date. With its variety of game modes and stunning realism, it offers more than its predecessors. This game is a true delight for basketball fans, and if you're willing to overlook a couple of flaws, you're almost guaranteed to get hooked.

Pay-to-win issues notwithstanding, Visual Concepts' NBA 2K25 is the premier basketball title, packed with enjoyable content and notable improvements.

NBA 2K25 offers a very complete experience that comes from presenting an overwhelming amount of content that is fused with truly advanced RPG elements for a basketball simulator. Essentially, it is a very good video game that is limited by a recurring problem: the weight of microtransactions.

To put it plainly, NBA 2K25 isn’t quite on the level of the splashy return of Michael Jordan in 1995. Instead, it feels more like his late-career stint with the Washington Wizards; you know what you’re getting at this point, but it still has a few tricks up its sleeves that longtime fans like me can be pleasantly surprised by even as we gripe about long-term issues.

This the first NBA 2K I dislike, I enjoy 2k24,23,20,18,17 and 16… but this game is awful and I will not expose the scam of carreer mode or how much stupid is the content of this mode… but talk purely on the gameplay !! This game is crazy even if u got a 99 full badges he can miss an open shot bc u are not green timing but we can even see correctly the timing and its the fist time ever I meet this problem, and AI is so powerful I can’t enjoy a game that horrible… I hate this game and believe I’m not a pro but I know how to play and this game is a ****… if you are a casual or just a player want fun run away this game !!!

After NBA 2K24 was able to bring a breath of fresh air into the franchise last year with the introduction of the new ProPLAY mechanic, the successor is once again making more effort to fine-tune it. The usual massive license package, including an extensive range of modes for every taste, remains unparalleled, the atmosphere on the court is unbeatable - and PC players can finally enjoy a modern technical framework, although after five years more and more signs of wear and tear are now showing. The new throwing mechanics, on the other hand, didn't appeal to me at all and if you don't want to completely drown in competitive play, you'll have to be prepared for additional investments given the omnipresent pay-2-win aspects.
