The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie6
Apr 10, 2025
Graphics and gameplay is still solid, story is okay-ish, but there is way too much crap in this game!
Each on its own is not that bad, but I say that as a trophy hunter who has gotten used to fishing and cooking in these games, I really don't want to have to play so much Pom Pom Party or Vantage Master all the damn time, but I'm forced to do all of that or I miss out on things that I need for the platinum.
Also multiple protagonists **** in a story-driven **** the time I'm really settled in I'm forced to play someone somewhere else.

Silent Hill 210

Well, normally I wouldn't give a game a perfect 10/10, because let's be honest - none of the games are. You may like them enough, but they are not.
That being said, I'll do it for Silent Hill 2 anyway, because I can't give it a 9,5 and the gripes I have with this game are all minor, so here it is. I was a bit sceptical before I played it, but Blooper Team has lived up to my expectations and more, it is both modernised as well as true to the source material as possible. I had a damn good time with it and can't recommand it enough to people who like survival horror.

Pretty strong GOTY contender for me, possibly the strongest so far (still waiting on Alan Wake 2, so we'Ll see) and overall it's an easy 9/10 for me as the graphics are phenomenal, the story is great (strong character development all around) and the voive actors did an outstanding job breathing life into each and every one of them. That being said though, I do have a gripe with the game and that's the map design. During the story they are great, but since I'm also a trophy hunter I finished the story first and went back for the collectibles later ad some of the maps, especially parts of Alfheim and most of Vanaheim are a nighmare to traverse without a pointer. Might be just me, but that was the big annoyance factor for me, the rest was great and if you're looking for a game to spend somewhere between let's say 15 and 50 hours, depending on how much you want to do, this is a basically a no brainer. It's strongly recommanded to finish God of War (2018) first, but it's probably possible to just enjoy this game on its own if you so choose. Why you'd do something if the "first" game is right there and great too, I don't know, but I gues it's possible.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure7

Pros: - Compelling story - Great characters - Missing link between the Sky trilogy and the Cold Steel quadrlogy Cons: - Felt a bit too long-drawn-out - Some characters have once again stupid Arcus lines At some points it felt like you had to bring Tio since some bosses towards the end tend to deal ridiculous amounts of damage with their s-crafts and you often never really know when they'll use it, so you almost have to have 2 stacks of damage absorb.

First things first, I'd give the game an 8,5/10 with a small points deduction for the price, but overall it's still a fanastic game and it looks better than ever in my opinion. That being said, I think everyone should tak a few things into consideration before you buy this game. If you: - Can spare the money - If you have a PS5 (obviously) - If you don't have the remastered version for PS4 this one is worth it in my opinion. If you however already have the PS4 version and you're really only looking for an excuse to play it again I'd either go with the remastered version or wait for a sale. That's what I did and I'm content with my decision as the price tag of 80€ really was the only part that I wasn't happy with.

I really enjoyed this game when I played it the first time at release and a few days ago I decided to finally play the two DLCs and what can I say: The first one felt a bit harder than the main game and the second DLC involves Alan Wake, another Remedy gam that I really enjoyed, so they're great in my book As for the cons, there weren't too many for me, mostly of cosmetical nature, but on thing that I noticed on both the PS4 as well das the PS5 version was that I almost always had half a second of lag when I closed the inventory/missions screen. The biggest flaws for me however were the lighting as well as some effects. Especially floodlights were way too bright while other parts of the game were way too dark plus the smoke screen effect of some enemies was pretty annoying, but other than that it was great.

I really enjoyed this game, it was an awesome sequel to Zero Dawn and overall worthy of the franchise name. The side quests were kinda meh, rather boring overall but what made things enjoyable was the fact that you have so many different people with different stories and different characters that you can learn about which also the strong selling point for me here: the worlds and the characters that inhabit this world. I played the PS4 version which looked great, but felt a bit lacking the controls department, mainly swimming and fighting flying enemies. Whenever I had to fight a Sunwing or Stormbird the camera would be kinda hard t control/work with because the view from below was often questionable with grass/debris/trees/Aloy in the way. You can definitely work with it, but it wasn't always very good. Last but not least I wouldn't mind if the next game was a little less bloated in terms of "Here, have 28 different kinda of bows with 5+ different qualities and now collect stuff to upgrade them all". That was a bit excessive. All in all 7.5-8 for me, good fun and well worth the money.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition8

Easy 8/10 for me and it could be even higher if it had some quality of life additions like being able to skip cutscenes. The controls also feel pretty aged and not as fluid as they could/should be. They're by no means bad, but there is a clear distinction between "good" and "great" Other than that it a pretty decent story, but the secret stars of the show are the characters, there are so many different races and people that you rarely find two that are really alike

Alan Wake Remastered8

Still a great game, decent remaster, with great characters, a cool albeit complicated story as well as some good dlc at a reasonable price. There are only a few minor gripes for me, mainly things like way too many collectibles and the fact that you can run for like 2 seconds and then you have to catch your breath for 5 plus being out of breath also impedes on your ability to dodge attacks, so running is really only an option when you have to bridge a second or two to reach a safe haven. If you haven't played it yet, it's a good choice if you're into supernatural stuff.

Aragami 26

I liked the first game so there was no doubt I'd get the second one as well. Overall the gameplay felt smoother and more fluid, you can now jump and climb which are great additions I felt like they didn't really get the combat right. To be fair I haven't engaged in too many open fights, but the few ones I actually fought felt a bit like Sekiro, but not really and certainly not as well done/polished. Don't get me wrong, it was not COMPLETELY bad, but enough for me not to use it. One thing that really bothered me was the fact that I glitched through walls and floors like there was no tomorrow and was caught more than once with a body over my shoulder which made me restart the mission. One could say that it was my own fault for being so perfectionist, but I think being sneaky is the whole point here. The boss fights were somewhere in the middle, not too bad but also a bit too tough on the "no detections" players. I got "no detection" on almost all missions besides the bosses and then gave up on it after finishing the stage, because it didn't make a difference. Same with the "kill every enemy" medals that became incredibly tedious around mission 20-30 as there were just so many enemies, normally 50 or even more. Overall I'd give the game a 7/10 or maybe even slightly higher, but all these glitches and the lenght made it overall a bit more tedious that it needed to be as the story felt too drawn out for what it offered.

Aragami: Shadow Edition7
Oct 1, 2021
Pros: - Decent graphics - Decent story - Decent handling of stealth - Game experience gets better with more skills unlocked, but you never feel completely overpowered Cons: - One hit and you're dead - Sometimes annoying checkpoints - No real pause screen (looking at you "kill every enemy in the level" missions) - Story isn't completely bad, but falls flat for the most part

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice8

Pro: - Great story - Great characters - Good pace unless you go the wrong way too early - Good balance between stealth and combat - Great mix of bosses - Replay and Gaunlet option - Great boss variety, although some of them are somewhat recycled Cons: - EXTREMELY steep learning curve - Some enemies just deal obscene amounts of damage and take too much of a beating for being just regular guys - Tracking that is sometimes borderline infuriating (Chained Ogre for example) Overall I REALLY wanted to love the game from the beginning and in a way I did, I just couldn't get into the combat, so I played it a bit until I had to fight Genichiro and then dropped it, picked it up again a year later and dropped it again. This year I finally stayed on top of things, got gud and collected the last platinum for a From Soft game. Due to the missing co-op I'd say it is a great game for people that are either resistant to to frustration, that are good a both Soulsborne and rhythm games as the combat is kind of like a dance or that have a natural talent for anything new as Sekiro WILL force you to adept to this playstyle, unlike Dark Souls you can't hide behind a shield or get away with dodge all the time, you pretty much HAVE to parry/counter/deflect things. One thing I really didn't like all that much was the fact that you often had to seperate adds from their mini bosses which basically means you sneak up to them, kill the add, run away and wait for the boss to reset which is viable, but annoying when you die to them and you will over the span of the game. Some of these mini bosses have like 4 or more adds which gets old really quickly if you die to them.

I'm about to finish the platinum and I can say it was good fun for the most part, but the PS4 version definitely wasn't what was promised. I only had a couple of crashes, but lots of lag, textures didn't load properly, I fell through the floor or jumped over half the map for no reason. Overall it probably could've used 1 or 2 more years to refine everything and it probably shouldn't have been released on the old consoles since they can't really handle the game well. One thing they absolutely got right were the characters as well as the endings, especially the stuff during the credits.

Persona 5 Royal9

If you like RPGs that combine typical RPG stuff with social activities like jobs, friendship, side quests with an individual story of themselves, this behemoth **** is the right game for you. Pros: - Loveable (for the most part), different characters - Intriguing story - Very well thought-out combat - Lots of different options to increase your social stats, so it's not just braindead farming untitl everything is maxed out. You can read books, play video games, go to the gym, the cinema, take part in burger eating competitions and lots of other things. - Great enemy design: Apart from bosses pretty much every minor as well as major enemy has a weakness that you can use to either negotiate to make them join you as a Persona for you to use or extort them for money or items. Bosses however are a different thing as most of them don't have a weakness, but you can still inflict status ailments on them and have a chance for a technical which basically works like "hit the weakness" attack, but with a lot more damage under certain circumstances. Cons: - You can't skip cut- and story scenes, all you can do is fast forward - You can revive everyone else, but if your main dies it's game over which is especially annoying in the early parts of the game because enemies can basically one-shot you like this. - Some characters join you really late in the game so they're naturally far behind on confidant levels which of course not a game breaker, but still a bit annoying since some of them only stay for a while. TL;DR It's a fanastic game and if you're into turn-based rpgs this is the one where you absolutely get your moneys worth. I've spend well over 200 hours on Persona 5 and my playthroug on Persona 5 Royal will probably also be around 100 hours. Platinum included, but still.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II9
Jul 19, 2020
Falcom once again returns with a masterfully crafted RPG that basically gives you more of what you're used to from other Legend of Heroes games, this time more polished and more well thought out with a fantastic and very likable and relatable characters, each very similar on one level as they all have high values for moral and pride, but on another level they're different enough so they complement each other almost perfectly. While it's not 100% divided I'd say you can divide the game into two different sections: Story that happens inside the school and story that happens outside of school. The first part mostly consists of social stuff like spending time with your friends and doing side quests while the "outside of school" part covers combat and progresses the story way more than the "inside of school" parts do. Technically you don't need to play any of the other Legend of Heroes games before and can still have a really good time with this one, but it's highly advised since it's an ongoing story. The games are divided into different arcs, but overall they're all connected.

The Last of Us Part II4
Jul 17, 2020
Pros: - Looks good - Plays decent enough Cons: - The story is mostly boring, you're forced to play a character most people dislike through said story and overall it ignores a lot of what was established in the first game - The characters are bleak and for the most part you don't really care for them at all. The first game had people like Sam and Henry that you liked at least a little bit despite what they do, but here you have pretty much nothing. - Blatantly false advertising - False copyright strikes/claims through Sony/ND/Muso It's like they took the first game, thought about what part II should be and then threw everything out the window. I'll give it a 4 for nostalgia reasons and because it has a few things that are fine, but you can't really expect more from a story game that blatantly ignores pretty much everything that was established in the first game. Most of the negative reviews have nothing to do with Ellie or anyone else being gay or trans or whatever, but simply with the fact that Naughty Dog disappointed so many fans with what they've created here

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel8
Jul 10, 2020
Pros: - Fantastic story - Character development - Different and very likeable characters Cons: - Not always good balance between spells and skills or even some stats Overall a very good with a fantastic story that more or less takes place over 9 different games. You can dive right into it with Cold Steel, but you'll have some spoilers about things that either happen in Trails of Azure and Trails to Zero as well as Trails in the Sky.
