Antal is a professional who respects your dollars. In a season where the blockbusters are as flat as month-old soda, that’s the most romantic gesture a commercial filmmaker can make.

Summer was made for this kind of film, and Predators is almost exactly what you need to fix this otherwise busted summer cinema season.

The odor of musty, late-’80s nostalgia may still hover around this already threadbare brand, but you simply don’t see movies that leave both the curious and the fans who truly care this viscerally satisfied anymore.

Predators biggest failing is that it manages to make its sci-fi violence absurdly boring.

Little happens that you don't see coming, down to which cast members will get picked off and in what order. It's a dumb action movie in a summer full of dumb movies, and yet it's always entertaining. And you won't really miss Arnold at all.

By anyone's reckoning, Predators is a middling 1980s B movie; too bad this is 2010.

As far as unnecessary movies go, Predators is a pip.

Predators is a slightly above-average movie that’s enjoyable but tough to review. It doesn’t do anything radical—mostly a meandering rehash of the original—but introduces unique ideas alongside ones that seed the franchise’s downfall later. In isolation, it’s a missed opportunity with untapped potential. Overall, don’t hate it, had fun—but wasted potential.

The first time I saw this movie in theaters, I left completely disappointed. I was younger back then and realized that the film tries to honor the original, but ends up feeling like a weak copy rather than a proper tribute to the first classic. I’d recommend watching it on a rainy Sunday if you have nothing else to **** my ranking, it comes fourth after Predator, Predator 2, and Prey. That doesn’t mean it’s a movie I wouldn’t recommend — if you like Predator, many people have enjoyed this film. I give it a 6 because there are some moments that make the movie shine, though I won’t specify which **** ending, in my opinion, is a disaster. I don’t consider it a bad movie, but it was a big disappointment, and even though I can watch it occasionally, I can’t give it a higher score. In my opinion, it’s overrated, especially compared to Predator 2, which is brilliant and underrated.

I'm good audience for anything with Brody, but he's used at 5% capacity here. Sure, he makes a more believable modern elite soldier than da old bodybuilders. The movie bears some ressemblance to McTiernan's Predator, but without the knowhow. I mean Predator showed the characters a bit, then some action against guerilleros and russians, then they were picked one by one in epic ways. Schwarzie stumbles by luck into some mud camouflaging him from the Predator. I suppose it's the special kind used to make ceramics, not just some garden dirt. Js.. here Brody just muds himself for no reason. Characters are dropped just supposing they're good, no action showing their skills, then they get slaughtered. Plus the doctor... how is a psycho good prey again.. he only knows how to kill defenseless people... And a guy in a wreck hiding from Predators for years.. gets killed 10secs later. Not to mention the implications of this setup.. so what they have billions of cams all over the galaxy then some low-wage Predators watch that cr@p to pick targets and abduct them ? Wow.. it's just nonsensical (and fairly stupid) all along. Only last 30mins are of some interest
