The only thing that held this amazing game back on GameCube vs other versions was Nintendo's crappy online service. If you got this online you were one of the lucky ones.
This is square at its best. Old school final fantasy at its best. Rpgs at its best. Wonderful story and a solid battle system. It gets abit grindy towards the end, but its still one of my favourite rpgs.
I tried to like this more and for a while I did. But for some reason I found myself not caring for the story or characters enough to carry on. It's a good game but you'll need to be a bit more patient than I was with it.
I was very disappointed by the gameplay concept. It was far too simple and that's not what I play paper Mario for. This is the weakest game I've played in what has always been a charming series. Hope they put more effort in the future
Solid enough but this is a lazy lazy game as far as trying to push the series up. This game is a cash in by Nintendo. It's more of the same. If that's what you want go for it. But I found this disappointing
Alot of fun, but very short if you're only going to play through the once. Visually,it's better than the original and the controls are as tight as ever. I'm just not convinced this needed to be a full retail release
Another great entry in the series. Not my favourite as the game has a horrible habit of stopping every few minutes to talk the obvious to you. The writing in the series has always been one of its strong points but you can have too much **** thing. Gameplay is great and smart
My main issue is with the controls. I never got on with them. Clumsy and fiddly and never mastered. Maybe it was me. Still, it's good looking enough and the story is ok. I hope they make another with more traditional controls
Abit of treading water is going on here. The course design is nothing special and the elements they've added add very little to actual gameplay. A lazy update
They've done a great job here updating this most conservative of games series. I'm still annoyed that you can't "catch em all" but at least the main draw for me, ie the adventure, is as good as ever
As always, gameplay wise it doesn't get much better. My problem is that it all feels too clinical. It's not a world that Mario is adventuring through, it feels more like a lab experiment. Still had good fun though
Another great entry in the series. Much improved over the DS shadow dragon. They've managed to find plenty of ways to modernise the series without harming the core gameplay. Great job!
I actually prefer this version to the original. It looks better and the additions and tweeks they've made help the game out without harming the magic of the original. Being able to use Epona in the wild really makes getting around easier for example.
Great style, with fun , if somewhat dumb battling. One of these easy to play tough to master type games. Alot of games try to be cool and fail. This one doesn't
It must be me. I had fun with this. It's a solid shooter in an amazing setting but for some reason it didn't grab me. Maybe I should have stuck with it. You should all give this a go.
Halo 2 ramps up the drama but manages to stay a good shooter. It gets the balance right. Halo 2 introduces duel wielding for the first time in the series and is unique in story mode for letting you play as both the hero master chief and anti hero arbiter.
All praise to Nintendo for the creative art direction that really brings such character to this entry in the Zelda series. As always, the quality of gameplay and puzzling is high. The sailing will no doubt get on some people's nerves, but for me, it's all build up for the atmosphere. Play this
Good dumb run and gun fun. Difficult to enjoy online if you haven't mastered some skills and the single player is less fun. I suspect quake fans would prefer the pc version
Better than the Wii version, which the wiimote didn't work as well as I'd hoped for. This is a darker grittier zelda game and absorbs you in its fantasy.
Outstanding fun and entertaining as well. At its heart is a simple idea. But the idea has been built on to epic proportions and the world blown wide open to match
Alas I found this a clumsy and confusing game. When you're lost and don't know what to do it becomes dull. I'm sure there's a great game in here, but if it doesn't hook you, it'll be a disappointing experience.
If you're a novice, this game will be too big and too punishing. It doesn't hold your hand. But if you know what you're doing, it's a joy. Beautiful game.
The high point of the series. Super epic space shooter that immersed me in it's universe and made me come to genuinely want to stay and protect a corner of it. And there is alot of it. Play this!
Great content. Half life 2 and portal would be worth buying on their own. The episodic content is less good and I couldn't get in to team fortress 2 at all. But I would still recommend this to anyone
I don't normally like this kind of game but it just goes to show that interactive story telling can work when it's done properly. It's a great looking game too.
Best resident evil I've played. Action, suspense and thrilling scares and excitement all the way. Gritty and immersive, even the OTT bosses fights fit this amazingly atmospheric world that Capcom have built. Play this.
Personally, I found this a bit boring. Maybe it just didn't hook me in like other more exotic and fantastical shooters were doing at the time. People who like a pure no nonsense FPS will enjoy this more
I very good game. I've had more fun elsewhere and tracking around rapture can be abit of a bore between story parts, but I respect the technical feat that is the solid engine and world that they've built here.
Manages to be both a great shooter and an epic adventure without sacrificing one or the other to gimmicks, set pieces or interactive movie moments. Great introduction to the universe
Possibly my favourite GameCube game. Great action and exploration with a decent amount of challenge, tension and rewarding gameplay. The thinking man's shooter...
Other than in looks, I fail to see what was so special about perfect dark. It's good, but not so great as some shooters I played in the n64 era. It hasn't aged too well either
Can't choose between this one and the first for which is Wii 's star game. This one is more of the same, but never has that been such a good thing. Play this.
Another amazing piece of platforming genius from Nintendo. Like most modern Mario games, it can be quite clinical at times. But for gameplay and fun, there's little better
Apart from getting lost all the time, I enjoyed the action, story and adventure in this game. It's aged well and is just the right length of time to not start dragging. I can still see why it became a classic even if it's not one of mine.
Definitely the best in series as there's still enough gameplay mixed in with all the interactive movie gubbings that Naughty Dog love. This is the one they got right, but I still find the series quite over rated. Still recommend this
One of my all time favourite games and this is about as good a port of it as I can possibly imagine. Right up there with other Mario platformers, this is a must play. You'll be **** in to the island and all its character and charm
Alas, the negatives outway the positives. The werehog levels clunky, slow pace are everything the sonic series isn't about. There is nothing more disappointing then playing as sonic, beating another fairly decent level in 5 minutes and then sighing as you're thrown back into another werehog level, which can take 30minutes plus to trudge through. The final boss battle is also horrendous and no reward for putting up with this disappointing game
In my humble opinion, the single player campaign took a dive when the series moved to 360. Halo 3 sacrificed the fun shooter that the previous games had been and replaced it with big over dramatics and sprawling landscapes that, while pretty to look at, were dull to traverse. ODST was less dramatic, but again, was so full of endless trekking about that it turned into abit of a yawnfest too. Don't get me wrong, I still liked both games. The multiplayer experience has only gotten better over time, even if some of the company you might meet are still the biggest '**** you'd ever have the misfortune to be forced to play with. I just feel the campaign side of things has taken a backseat in the last couple of games to the series' stronger points.
Halo Reach surprised me. This is quite possibly the most solid shooter in the series I've played, perhaps, ever. I generally had fun doing stuff other then watching the cutscenes. The story is engaging, the gameplay challenging and the pacing is just right. The campaign is short, but there is so much to the halo experience these days, you won't mind. Overall, I was happy. Glad to see Bungie leave the series on a high.
