The Fall Guy1
May 11, 2024
Absolutely hated it, it is a mix of The Notebook, and an action movie. The romance aspect is nauseating, and seems very over the top. The stunts are the same thing you've seen for the last 50 years. It isn't Jackie Chan jumping from one hot air balloon to another level. Almost went to sleep, which I hardly ever do at the theater. The only movie I liked with Gosling was Gray Man.

The Lost City2

I actually considered going to the theatre to see this. Absolutely dodged a lame movie, Bullock's character boring, Tatum's character gets old after 5 minutes, Radcliffe, and Pitt were decent with the little screen time they got. Seems like a Sandler project where the actors only sign on to film because they're filming somewhere tropical for six months, but his are actually somewhat funny.

Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe1

The first movie was funny, this one is not. Why not make it absolutely filthy now that it is on Paramount+ instead it is the same joke about scoring over, and over again. None of the old characters make appearances (Daria, Hippy Teacher, Old Principal, Old Neighbor Guy, Blonde Kid With Winger shirt). The movie just seemed really half hearted, and it will be the only time I ever watch it.

Monster Hunter5

I would wait for Redbox price, I saw it for free but $6 is pushing it. It is a movie I would have enjoyed more on the big screen with loud surround sound. I saw a Resident Evil in IMAX, and you could feel the chairs shaking as a helicopter was going by. This movie I think is one of those that needs that kind of experience to get the most out of it.
I've never played the game, so I can't tell you how closely it follows it. I know when you have Tony Jaa you're expecting fight scenes, you get plenty of those, and they're done well. I'm not sure of his real life English fluency, but Monster Hunter becomes a Hellen Keller story with fight scenes basically.
I about died laughing looking at Ron Perlman with hair like Brad Pitt in Troy. I absolutely hated the Army song they kept singing, as it seemed really half hearted , and annoying.

Coming 2 America3

Just watched an advanced screening, and dang it was disappointing. I love the original, it is a rare movie you can watch over, and over. That being sad Norbit, The Nutty Professor movies, and Life are 100x funnier than this sequel. It is funnier than Barb And Star if you have seen that.
Pros: Returning characters (Amos,J.E. Jones, etc.)
Eddie, and Arsenio in SFX makeup as characters from first movie, and one new one by Arsenio which was amusing. Wesley Snipes was decent, but needed some funnier scenes. Instead of same thing over, and over.
Leslie Jones did her usual, but a little of her goes a long way.
Cons:
New characters (The Young Male Lead, Luenell, Tracy Morgan)
When I'm watching this movie I want to see Arsenio, and Eddie. Instead I get way too much of the new guy, and his family. Luenell is wasted just sits around for most scenes, and has barely any lines (Why?)
The background songs in this movie are awful, really annoyingly bad. The scene with the young male lead where he raps is head slappingly cringeworthy.
Eddie is way too laid back in this as Hakeem, and only shines when in SFX makeup as another character. In the original he isn't over the top funny as Hakeem but he is more entertaining because of the fish out of water experience he is having in New York. This time he is in Zamunda most of the movie, and it makes Hakeem BORING.
Sorry Eddie, love a lot of your work but this needed a lot more refining.

Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar1

An awful movie run away now if you're thinking Romy and Michelle, or even Bridesmaids.
Think the new Bill and Ted movie unfunny.
Supporting actors, and cameos are horribly used, they don't even get a chance to be funny.

Bill & Ted Face the Music2

Just awful, and I payed full price, because I'm a true fan! The only positive was the cameos from previous films. The doofus daughters get way too much screen time!!!! I paid to see Bill & Ted not the bozo daughters.

The Croods: A New Age1
Dec 22, 2020
Not entertaining for adults, and young boys will be put off by all the romantic idiocy, and this movie has a lot of it. It seems to have been a choice for this film to focus more towards girls who have started liking boys as the main audience.
The Betterman character is annoying, and also the Crood son. Cloris Leachman's few scenes are the best, which are mainly towards the end. Will a kid like it probably, but only after about 40 minutes into it once some action gets going.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them3

BORING! CGI is really fake looking, and story is just flat. New York looks really depressing, and dark all the time. Redmayne has become addicted to playing his characters on the autism spectrum in my opinion.

Just a very uninspired rehash of the original three, left me feeling empty at the end. Save your money and wait for rental or just watch the original three. New bad guy is awful, his helmet is laughable looks like a child designed it. I had a hard time not laughing when he is having one of his tantrums. You could actually feel the hate coming from a character like Darth Maul or the Emperor. This character comes off as someone that has a mental illness like the crazies you hear about in the news. The new Sith Lord looks like Voldemort, or one the white orcs from the Hobbit really unimaginative in my opinion. Not one clap or cheer at the end from a large full theater if that tells you anything. Even the prequels when I went got applause at the end.
