Crown Wars: The Black Prince2
Jul 15, 2025
X-COM Like during the Hundred Years' War. At first it's really entertaining, but over time it becomes increasingly uncomfortable. I cancelled the game after about 50 hours of play, probably just before the end.- some bugs and no updates!- The game freezes (2). - Nothing can be selected in the game within a battle! Just before the end and in Iron Mode this is really annoying! - Own units that go through poisonous mushrooms, fire etc. and not around it. - The difficulty level is not well balanced - The game becomes unnecessarily unfair in the endgame! Way too many Toys Ex Machina moments. - Very one-sided missions (repeat themselves too often)

Great heartwarming story, fatalistic soundtrack, WTF Moments and great partly stylish combat system which is strongly reminiscent of some Final Fantasy/Persona parts. For a first work of the studio behind the game, hats off! Just great, like more of it.

What a game! Some WTF moments, moral choices, real good story, characters, soundtrack and voices (played the German version). Fantastic mediaeval scenario, battles, combat system and or stealth inserts.. you have so many choices. Exploring the surroundings, random scenarios with NPCs, the villages, the castles the city! Dirty, scruffy... I love it!

Another World: 20th Anniversary Edition9
Feb 23, 2025
Legendary game in a fantastic new edition with some pleasant changes in the gameplay and the original game left unchanged but graphically upgraded. Information about the game should have been inserted as an extra in the form of documents, interviews. A bit of a shame. But eventually the game will also be 50 ;)

Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings6
Feb 23, 2025
Since the game is already older, it has of course some "flaws" or limitations of its time. The transitions including small cut scenes are too fast or inappropriate. You can still play the game quite well and are through in a few hours. Not Indy's best staged adventures at all. But Indy is just Indy.

Wow! The game scores in terms of staging, story. I love the puzzles that are not so difficult, it is rather to draw conclusions and combine. There are WTF moments! And a big plus: the soundtrack! Great detective game with a unique look!

The Invincible7

Great atmosphere, story and voice/soundtrack. Graphically, the whole thing fluctuates between WOW, WTF to Graphic from 10 years ago (water, characters). Great is that there is no HUD in the game. This always draws you fully into the action. I also like the comics to continue or supplement the actual story. No memory function or info that was saved. That's annoying! Especially when you have to stop playing and later have to repeat a section! Very bad is and here potential was assigned .. you can not really explore freely. Practically everything is given. In my opinion, answers in conversations have no consequences for the story. When climbing, the paths are given by white markings, if e.g. a few steps further is a small elevation, you can not get over there but must use the given one. There are different endings in the game which is commendable, but these are weakly staged. Unfortunately, the game is giving away too much potential. Too bad.

Almost perfect RPG. Great soundtrack and art style. Wonderful story with a WTF moments! I find the time pressure in the game negative. You can't devote yourself to everything in the game. A second robbery is possible thanks to Game+, but that game covers a good 80+h. It's just too long for me. Still the best RPG of the year!

Chained Echoes9

Fantastic story with many twists and WTF moments, it's never as you think and sometimes it is. Unfortunately, there are also negative things and it bothers me that "taking the hand" is neglected. Sometimes there are no clear clues to where to continue or markings for it. The soundtrack is also great and atmospheric. If you like turn-based RPGs and some retro, you can't get around this game. If you also consider that this game was developed in its scope by one person... remarkable.

Great atmosphere, great mechanics, great intonation and great game world. It is a lot of fun to discover the world ((architecture / forests). The synchronisations (German) is fantastic. I play a little under 100h, then the fun was unfortunately over. Too bad there was no PS5 update regarding fps. The memory system in the game is ok, but could be simpler, but the basic idea is good.

LEGO City Undercover9
Aug 7, 2024
Lego City Undercover is probably without a doubt one of the best Lego games with its own story, bizarre characters (meant positively) and a lot of charm. Especially in cooperative mode a recommendation. It is really a pity that there were no successors (as of 2024).

EVERSPACE 29
Aug 3, 2024
Really great space game with RPG elements, small puzzle inserts and great atmosphere. Everspace 2 is very reminiscent of Elite Dangerous, Wing Commander and Privateer. The space never looked more beautiful and is very detailed including great effects. But there are also missions that take place on planets. Great soundtrack, very good language language in German (I love it) and English. The ego view with 110 degree view is particularly cool :D The only disadvantage is the not fully animated cutscenes (Which should probably be due to the budget) which are great drawn And as in most games, Unfortunately, random events are also repeated very often. Too bad. Also the mining of resources is a bit annoying at some point and reminds me a bit of Mass Effect.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes7
Jun 3, 2024
Fundamentally solid JRPG with round fights. The story is ok but not good or very good. But then some things bother me. 1. A lot of affection for Kickstarter-Baker. 2. Comfort functions are missing as with levelling up that HP/MP automatically recharges 3. Does the limitation of items make sense? Unlocking is only possible with found characters, if you miss them or if you don't find them, you have problems in the game. 4. Reselling party members or runes is not possible at any time! 5. If you don't use certain party members for a long time, they level them much faster, cool. Problem: but values do not improve the weapons, these must be upgraded separately by a blacksmith (for a fee). If characters are permanently assigned by the game for missions, this is a problem. 6. Too few strategic battles, it's a pity. That should have been expanded better. 7. Why are the reconquests of old places or areas shown in "flashbacks", why can't you do the whole thing yourself? 8. Not well balanced game. At first there is a lack of everything, in the later castle expansion you have everything in abundance. 9. The game drags on very.. long distances have to be travelled. Very often that doesn't make any sense. This makes the whole thing feel stretched. 10. The game could be too difficult here and there despite higher levels, it doesn't seem optimally balanced to me. Especially towards the end it will be very difficult! Normal walking, on the other hand, is very easy. 11. I expected more intrigues, unexpected changes within the story or one or the other WTF **** game doesn't feel quite round there and the potential would be there!

Probably the best JPRG of its time and one of the best Final Fantasy series! The story is tragic, the soundtrack is fantastic, the characters grow to the heart! If you like a turn-based combat system, you should definitely take a look at the whole thing. I love it!

Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration8
Apr 22, 2024
Brilliantly created documentary about the early years of Atari and its entry into game history. Many classics in old, never published and even new editions are playable. Really interesting are the documents and videos to be viewed of which there could also be even more. All interviews are subtitled in English but also in different languages. Great.I would like to see such a documentation about the Amiga. Since Eclipse has been part of Atari for a short time, this is probably more of a wishful thinking. This game documentation is suitable for Atari as well as fans of video game history.

Rise of the Ronin8
Apr 1, 2024
Exploring the surroundings, the combat system, the history and the setting are really fun. Great game with small mistakes. Rise of the Ronin is my first team ninja game that I played, the decisive factor was actually the historical background of Japan around about 1860 and the immediate end of the Shoguninate. Visually, it cannot compete with a Ghost of Tsushima, but can convince. The options for the pro-shoginate and anti-shoginate (decisions) bring choices within the story, which unfortunately have not been consistently implemented. But certainly invite to another round of the game. There are different language editions including a Japanese one. Unfortunately, only throughout. It would be desirable that every character would have spoken in his own language, Japanese in Japanese, American in English o. French in French. This opportunity was missed. Technically certainly feasible because sounds are available in the respective languages! That would definitely be an added value. Too bad about that. The Openworld Game knows how to convince through its big world in several chapters, the fights (which are a lot of fun) and the story. There is usually more than one way (action, sneaking or persuading) to complete a mission, but these are also not so consistently implemented. Personally, I miss pure Stealth missions. It is also possible to play the game purely with wooden weapons (also applies to shot/bow).

Expeditions: A MudRunner Game8
Mar 18, 2024

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition8
Mar 8, 2024
Dragon Quest XI is an old-school JRPG, with everything that goes with it. Unfortunately, so much potential was given away in part 11! It simply lacks the emotions in the game that the characters show far too rarely! The playable hero seems stiff, completely emotionless and is unfortunately not set to music (except for special exceptions) like the rest of our competitors. The biggest plus and that should actually bring all major games is the loading screen after loading a save game! Here it is briefly summarised in text form what happened recently and where we are currently in the story. Great!! :) Other cool extras are the 2D/3D change in the game to be able to play the game completely in 2D or the teleport system which allows you to jump to the beginning of a dungeon without roaming it again for a way back. I played a little over 80h and leave the game sobered.

Final Fantasy II Pixel Remaster5
Jan 18, 2024
Final Fantasy 2 is probably the heaviest and most controversial part of the series and brings with it a completely, probably rather unpopular new combat system. You are already free to walk the (almost) entire game world right from the start. This seems quite confusing at first and shows you a great weakness of the game right here. If you come to regions that you should not actually enter and have previously forgotten to save your score, the game is already over after a few seconds! The opponents are far too strong. I find the level system an even greater weakness! Instead of collecting experience points as usual and climbing one level at a time, for example, you improve the strength of a character by attacking, the magic ability through spells or the life energy by inserting enemy hits. The chance for a bonus against more powerful opponents is greater than against simple ones. If something wrong when levelling this skill until the end of the game, the final boss can become an impossible task! That can be quite frustrating. Thanks to the Pixel Remaster Collection, it makes the whole thing easier again. You have a larger selection of boosters to choose from and can use an Auto-Battle system that speeds up the fight. With these extras, you can pass the game in less than 10 hours.

Perspectives, light and shadow games. The puzzles are at a good level and never unfair. The "story" remains exciting and has a great development. The sarcastic voice of the "AI" in the game is strongly reminiscent of Portal's GLaDOS, which contributes a lot to the atmosphere and leaves one or the other smile. The soundtrack is also fantastic. At the end of the game, there is a profound conclusion of Dr. Pierce shows the accompanying doctor in the game that one or the other should actually take into heed in real life ;) . I would be happy after another visit to the Pierce Institute! The game is grandiose, albeit a little too short.

Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster7
Jan 7, 2024
Unfortunately, the story is nothing special nowadays. You control a fixed group of four heroes to free a princess and free the world from demon. Your party level you to land, sea and caves. However, the game is uncomplicated, ideal for beginners or old-school lovers in the series. The combat system is round-based although not as in later parts (4-10) with active battlesystem. You can expect some advantages in the pixel remaster in contrast to the original: save at any time, digital reissued soundtrack, booster, fast-forward in fights, a music box in the main menu or a gallery with artworks.

You will like the game if you like role-playing games with very good stories. You'll love it when you have a fabulous for tactical turn-based fights. The game can seem complex/overwhelmed but it is no longer with time.. you are very shallowly led into the game. An absolute treat, the RPG of the year if not even of this decade! ++++++ Very good set dialogues + Very good soundtrack + Very good animations + Very good graphics + Very detailed environment Many different companions with their own background stories + Many twists, unexpected moments + Very high replay value + Fantastic story(s) and main story that also changes depending on decisions OR comes to an end faster than you think (through appropriate decisions) + Many WTF moments + Many WOW moments +++++

The Making of Karateka8
Oct 2, 2023
WOW! Probably the best game documentation available to date. Class research, preparation in the form of texts, interviews, videos, pictures and documents in very high quality, 3D still images, animations and former first versions (Deathbounce) by Jordan Mechner can be played. There are both published versions (Mac, Atari, C64), NEW versions (2023) and unofficial versions of Karateka to play which are part of the documentation but can also be selected separately.
In principle, you can choose different settings such as filters, monitor settings (color, SW, monochrome), etc. in almost all versions of the game, as well as save your game save or change the key assignment! All this is a lot of fun and is hellishly interesting. The only pity is that the subtitles in the interviews are not also available in other languages. This would definitely be an added value and should not be an effort purely from the implementation. It would also have been desirable to be able to play emulations of the Atari ST and IBM versions than to be able to consider them only as screenshots. So the whole thing would have been more rounded. Conclusion: Please give us more of it!! More Making of .... :D

Starfield1
Sep 10, 2023
Cancellation after a little over 10h of playing time and that's my reason:- Modular structure of the "levels" (rooms/planets/sections, etc.) resulting from it... - ... Long loading times (freedom / feeling of travel is lost)
- Navigate a lot in menus
- Facial expressions / gestures of the characters horrible
- Overall, no good staging and camera work in conversations
- Not a good story, typical Bethesda food
- Spaceships land far away from their actual targets, why? As a result... a lot of walking!
- No vehicles or animals to move on over 1000 planets (crazy enough)
- An Outer Worlds (Obsidion - Fallout New Vegas) already offered more decision-making possibilities! Not to mention the titles of other manufacturers
- Exploring the generated planets will be quite boring
- The game doesn't manage to surprise me I can only emphasize positively: + Solid soundtrack but not quite as good as Skyrim
+ Good gunplay
+ Beautiful art design
+ Good speakers Unfortunately, all elements in the game are only average. If you value story and dialogue, you should resort to the Mass Effect Series or Baldurs Gate 3. There is a better space experience in Everspace 2, Star Citizen or Elite Dangerous.
No man Sky also offers a lot from Starfield, was only there before and continues to work better. Little has happened since Skyrim, but I spent hundreds of hours there and loved it. Somehow Bethesda seems to have stopped me. The development is progressing too slowly or my expectations were far too high. Spaceships, planets and SiFi.. a dream, unfortunately burst for me :/

Octopath Traveler II9
Jul 30, 2023
The arc of suspense between the individual characters and their episodes is fantastic. Another highlight is the terrific soundtrack of the game! The classic turn-based combat system ala Final Fantasy does the rest. Add to that the fantastic look of Traveler 2. Rounded off, the game turns into my personal top 10 JRPGs. Let's hope that more titles will follow in the future that take up this concept... think of a Chrono Trigger, the older Final Fantasy parts :D A dream :)

Great tactical game with great graphics and solid story. I like to explore, sneak and switch off to make the final fight a little easier. + Lap-based combat system such as Road to Eden /X-Com + Really good graphics and design + interesting story and Game world - story but a little dragged into the length by unnecessary - fights On easy too simple, on standard quite difficult (not so good balancing), sometimes also unfair - zoom levels are missing in the game to be able to see details better in the game, pity - Only three characters can be played at the same time

Final Fantasy XVI3
Jul 14, 2023
Is Final Fantasy still an RPG? - No status effects - No puzzles - Almost no more RPG mechanics available! - No tactical commands for party members (Torgal does not count) - Linear gameplay - A lot of cutscenes (felt at least 50% of the game) - Loot not balanced, sometimes very bad and not well thought out - Eikons/Espa powers are only visually very chic, no effects on opponents whether ice, wind or fire is used. - Very often (bosses) confusing because too many effects on the screen. - Secondary characters are not illuminated enough, very superficially or not at all - Only one weapon can be used, upgrade pointless since a better weapon is found 15-20 minutes later. - Equipping items has been greatly minimized. A weapon, a belt, a bracer and three rings/chains. Unfortunately there is nothing more. - side quest bad! Very much help person x, search herbs y tasks. No comparison to old FF side quests or even a witcher! - No mini games - sometimes long ways - Few enemy types, no variety, often repeated - At times the stylish Eikon/Espa fights are too long, unnecessarily long Reminiscent of the gameplay of EA's last Jedi Games, a Devil May Cry (yes, I know Ryota Suzuki) or a God of War. Despite all the negative comments, I love the soundtrack, the main character Cliff and the very beautiful world of Final Fantasy 16. I have strong vagant story vibes with a pinch of FF9. Unfortunately, Final Fantasy is no longer Final Fantasy. It's now just an action-adventure game that's far from its former strengths. The claim of a role-playing game has been severely restricted or completely lost.

Unfortunately, there isn't much new to see. Routes and environments taken over 1:1 from last year, including NPCs or extras who are on the routes. There are also no new radio messages, everything like 2021! F1 Life is as useless as a pimple on your elbow. These resources should have been used differently. Why are there no Classic F1 Cars? Why no F3? Why not a way to create a promotion from an F3 class to F2 and eventually to F1 (without story mode but maybe as a campaign?) ? Why are there no alternatives to classic routes? The added value of this game is unfortunately limited to the F1 cars, unfortunately. With EA (I don't know if this is a reason) in the wrong direction. This game is a step backwards.

Great game with a really great story and different ways to tread it. You want to explore the icy world and always find something new. The side missions are varied and partly funny. The loading times on the PS5 are insane (positively meant). Graphically a highlight and buttery soft thanks to 60fps.
