These movies are bloated, boring, homage nonsense. The writing is so stupid and desperate you have to laugh at it, until you realize it's trying super hard to be hip and it just gets more and more boring every passing minute. Why would anyone waste the time and watch these bland wannabe films again? Great cinematography by Robert Richardson, makes it barely watchable at times. This movie is for teens, maybe? Winkingly knowingly stupid, is still stupid. This is naval gazing on steroids.
Redundant, indulgent, shallow, dragging, predictable, and annoying. Maybe don't make a biopic when you are only like 40? The choice of the chimp was the ONLY interesting idea in this. Some of the interactions between father and son were almost provacative, but also too cut and paste. Biopics struggle with being a predictable genre, we all know, and this one is all that along with a massive dose of self aggrandization.
This movie is so bland after the wild opening. I mean obviously it's for kids, so the nonsensical expository dialogue and silly tech is great for them, The cliche love story and character beats as well, I imagine. What's funny to me is how "woke" this movie is. For some reason the hateful culture warriors who call everything woke like it's a horrible thing, are totally silent on this movie. More proof of what total frauds they are. This movie is bad. The effects are pretty good, but the story is too boiler plate to consume. That along with the desperate attempt to make this subculture hip and cool, was too silly and artificial for me. At times the movie wants to say: Driving into tornados is bad and extremely dangerous, but ****'t it soooooo Cooool!! lol It's for the mind of a child.
The terrible accents and acting along with the most boiler plate repetitive war story imaginable, makes this just another entry into the wildly over funded genre of military WW2 action movie. This genre is so bland at this point and this is the same old slop with a hard core SJW bible thumper sermon laid on top. This film is almost a joke, it's so in your face. Hollywood loves it though and gave it Oscar noms, So, I guess if you love this movie you love mainstream Hollywood crap! lol
I think it failed because it was too "woke"! lolololol This review is for all the anti woke weirdos who get emotionally triggered by every movie and cry about woke Hollywood. You are lame, and you don't even know what "woke" means. lolol
I mean, Sony is a Japanese company, so does it count as "woke Hollywood"??? lololol Oh well, who knows or cares what is going on with the antiwokies and their emotional, illogical culture war. Night night, babies!
This is a horror movie about being trapped, manipulated, abused, and groomed all your life, by a patriarchal, religious orthodoxy. Harrowing and plainly told.
George Miller is a special talent. We are all so lucky to have him. This instalment into one of the most iconic movie series of all time, is wildly inventive, insanely brutal, and packed with action that makes you duck your head, hide your eyes, and want to jump up and cheer. Absolutely electric film making from an Australian Legend. No one will ever match his level of "show, don't tell" mastery. All other action directors should watch and learn.
I think it's unique and has a nice Indie/ shoestring budget vibe, that pushes the genres a bit outside the box. Cool stuff. But, this film is boring and doesn't really have anything to say. Credit for uniqueness, but relies too much on the freakish baddies being "so **** up, man!!" It's OK. The extreme aspects of the story help it stand out and grab an audience, but they are also basically a gimmick. What's the point of this? Oh, right, "Crazy ****, bro!!" zzzzzz
It's like a long conversation with a buddy who tells a good story, but doesn't have anything interesting or new to really say. He also makes broad connections and conclusions that have no merit. Neither as clever nor insightful as he hopes he is.
An excellent film about how the Greatest Generation were frauds in many ways. A new generation must crawl out from their dark, violent shadow, and feel the sun for themselves. The oppressors must die for a movement of peace and justice to begin. This movie gets it. Audiences and Critics missed this one big time!! The bizarre disconnected aspects of the film led to the sense of overall dread, that you can't trust authority figures, or most adults. The idea that this movie doesn't come to any real conclusions, or have anything clear to say, is proof that what it is saying is difficult for those who are immersed in the capitalist, greatest generation propaganda of the past. They can't see it. They can't hear it. A great adult drama.
Like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon or Mad Max, this foreign film reinvents action movies for the entire world and gives us a truly visionary thrill fest. An absolute blast!
The melodrama is grating. Some good jokes and cinematic tricks. James Gunn hit gold with the first one. Now he is recycling all his ideas, reworking them, and trying to make them hit hard. Instead, the movie hits very soft and feels way too long. Cut out some of the melodrama, don't overstuff it with so many broad character motivations, and focus a bit more on developing the antagonist maybe. Basically, if this movie was tightened up A LOT, it would have been an 8/10. As it is, it feels like a jokey/emotional Marvel soap opera series, smashed and squeezed into an overflowing mess of a movie.
Some remakes are worse, I'm looking at you Old Boy, but this is still a bad remake **** foreign film. The film worked originally because of it's great story and unique twists. The Hollywood remake is predictably expanded upon in all the wrong ways, and feels more like a product than art. Because of the inventiveness of the original, this remake is still pretty good. But, they made it worse due to some of the bad writing and directing, which is not cool, man!
It has moments of good directing, acting, and cinematography. Both actors look **** whole thing just feels so redundant. Nothing surprising happens. Predictable, repetitive, anticlimactic, bland, vacuous, boxing movie. The central conflict is toilet paper thin. The montages are so typical and reused, it almost feels like a parody. The boxing genre is a failed genre at this point. Please do something new someday!!
Redundant, repetitive, vacuous, shallow nonsense. Like most boxing movies, but this one is even less interesting. The genre conventions have all been run into the ground. Boxing movies have nothing to say anymore. Retread the same ol same ol year after year. We'll get a bunch more next year I imagine. The first Creed was wildly over rated, but it did have some flourish. The performances were interesting. The cinematic style was freshish. This is just a cash grab feeling film.
This is an amazingly uninspired, drab, bland, telling of this story. It feels like a puff piece mixed with after school special level of writing. The end has a title card saying that Phil Knight has "given 2 billion to charity".... lolololol Was that part of the deal to get the rights??? Give me a break. This was a 30 min episode turned into a 2 hour movie where no one has a character arc, and everyone is boring but Michael Jordan's mom, who is barely in it. The acting was just so boring too.
This movie looked bad. The lighting and color were crummy. The gentleman criminal tropes and cheap neo noir look are so bland. This was dull even by 90's standards.
A redundant feeling cop drama. All the typical genre conventions done with lackluster energy. It's full of parades and funerals with people dressed in police regalia and marching or moving in stilted ways to pad the run time on this thin story. Feels like more of a pantomime of a movie than an actual film. A montage of overused imagery and dialogue.
So many users juicing the score with false or bot reviews. This movie was very very mediocre. It started strong, then just got repetitive and finally completely overwrought and somewhat silly. Even if you enjoyed this overlong, thin plot, no way it is 10 outta 10. That's just users juicing the score for some weird culture war the right wing is always pushing on metacritic. Trying so hard to stick it to "the critics" and "elites" lololol Desperate and sad. 4/10
Boxing movies have gotten so redundant and unwatchable, and this one is the champ. This is paint by numbers of a bland genre. Nothing unique to elevate this archetypal stone soup.
Further proof that the user reviews are just a bunch of haters. I hope your war on gay movies is satisfying. Look, 69 of you haters gave it a 0 so you win?? too funny. You did it! Thanks for the laughs. You got offended and wrote a review. Then, called the critics false. This user score is the most false score ever seen, because a bunch of angry triggered conservatives flooded the reviews with 0. You really think this film deserves a 0? Hmm, I wonder why? 10/10 Thanks for ruining user scores. Keep fighting that war for your safe space.
This is the kind of horror I love. It twists and turns in wildly entertaining ways. Some absolutely stellar cinematography, and a great female lead. Justin Long is also insanely good. Just got back from the theater and I am still buzzing. Thrilling, shocking, hilarious, and horrific!!
As a Romantic/Buddy comedy, it stands above all the rest, and it even gets better with age! see what I did there! Hey, if you prefer the Will Farrel brand of humor you have all sorts of options. For something more adult, this is that rare comedy that delights in moments of absurdity, but doesn't pile it on super thick like all the other typical American comedies. Do you want **** drink or fine wine? lol
Biopics are as derivative as any genre these days. Especially because they all tend to be full of nonsense and lies. So weird. Anyways, he had huge hits that were written by anyone but him, and lots of statutory **** of 14 year old girls. But, hey, it was the times...right?
It's hilarious how everyone who is losing their minds over how amazing this movie is, are the same people who supposedly hate the "Hollywood agenda"....unless they give them exactly what they want! (whether they even know what that is) Amazing jet fighting scenes make it all better. lolololol This movie is pretty dumb unless you are a kid. I liked the first one when I saw it as a kid. This one, well I'm not losing my mind over it, I'll just say that. The love hate relationship so many have with "Hollywood" is super cringe though!!! lolol Thanks for the laughs! I'll give it that. It made the haters bow down to big budget Hollywood, again. As always. Just admit you LOVE Hollywood movies, y'all! Stop pretending to hate Hollywood SO MUCH then spend money every weekend to see the latest movie. lololololo You played yourselves. Cheers!
If you have an open mind, this will reward you greatly. If you hate any examination of race and power in The USA, you will be triggered, offended, and give this a low score. I think that kind of proves the movies point. The hateful people in America is exactly what this is about. If you don't want to see a movie about racism in the USA, then maybe you really don't want things to change...
Another example of how ridiculous, biased, and unreliable USER RATINGS are. Based on the user reviews, which are obviously very politically/culture war motivated, this movie is better than EVERY other movie this year????? WOW! It's one of the best movies ever made!! lolololol What junk these user ratings are. A bunch of angry right wing haters come here to claim the critics were PAID to hate this movie?? lololol Even the ones who work for Rupert Murdock owned newspapers?? lolololol If you like the movie fine, but give me a break with this nonsense 9.3 rating from all these definitely not fake users! lololololol
First half was about a 5, but then it devolved into paint by numbers redundancy. Plus, the freezing conditions were meant to be a major factor, but didn't realistically have the effect they would have in a more tension filled script. It all felt too familiar to be exciting, and pretty bland. Poor acting as well from everyone, so that indicates more of a script/direction problem. This was very "direct to video" in every way; Technically, story, directing, acting.
All Marvel movies are silly, unrealistic, redundant power fantasies. But, watching the haters lose their minds and cry about this movie is well worth it. They are online crying about how it offended them because it had too many girls in it!!! Keep up the good work Disney!!! lol
Unwatchable, overstuffed, bland, slow motion, over long, redundant, fanboy drool. The positive reviews are from embarrassing crybabies who pushed for this so much, they can't now admit it was bad. So, they lie and say it was the best movie ever. Ouch, I can't stop cringing. Pretty good cinematography, but bad writing(jokes), bad character development, boring action, terrible music, Inane acting. This is bad,and anyone who thinks it's better than the original version is in deep denial. Stop giving Zack Snyder money!!! He has yet to make anything interesting.
The opening credits to a slowed down cover of Nirvana made me think it was directed by Zack Snyder. Either way, it was at the same standard of most Marvel blockbusters. Better than the painfully dull Endgame, but just a mediocre kids movie. The crybabies who hate "wokeness" are losing their minds over it, so that's funny. Keep up the good work, Disney! lol
