This game reminds me a lot of fallout new vegas but instead of multiple factions fighting to gain power in the mojave you have multiple people leading you on with the idea that theyll be able to help you escape the quarantine zone. The graphics are very nice but everything else about the game is extremely double A from the janky combat. The face/ body animations that are really stiff. The UI not being very good. A laundry list of items you can use in game but most of them worthless. With an intresting story you are asked to pieced together by reading notes and letters across the world. Really its gonna come down to 2 things on whether or not you'll like this game. 1. Are you okay with having no idea what you're doing or how you're supposed to do things and walking around aimlessly until you figure it out2. Can you deal with the jankiness of the game If the story sounds neat to you, you dont mind the jank and you're smart enough to piece things together yourself than i think there's something here for you to enjoy like i did. I just dont see myself coming back to this anytime soon.
A very fun game for sure. I think it just took time for me to get into it as early on as i didnt care for the grind or town building aspect to it but the more i played the more i got into it and saw what game was trying to do and really came to like and i would def recommend it to people and i would just say to give the game time to grow on you as you get new abilities and balls to play around with (no ****)
I dropped this game in January of 2025 and decided to pick it back up a year later after seeing how they had made multiple balance adjustments. I mean its roguelike about blackjack. It can be either overly easy or just stupid hard and honestly it still feels like the ladder as certain characters youre inevitably forced to face have over powered decks which if you dont have direct counters to will either wipe the floor with you or youll be stuck for 10 mintues as they slowly widdle down your health. I like the quirkiness and jokes it made but the actual gameplay was both slow and irritating as no matter how well put together your deck was you knew running into certain enemies was gonna be a headache unless you just got a goo early shuffle. Just stay away from this one unless you're okay with constant frustration with little to no room to improve the experience outside just getting lucky and getting the cards you need from shops and such
Yeah im not sure what i was expecting but it defiantly wasnt this. The 50's stuff was fine but overly played out. The art style was almost grotesque looking and the combat was dull. The story was fine for what it was but the story is probably the best part of this game and its merely adequate. Honestly felt like a waste of time to play this which is why i dragged my feet so hard on playing this
Really good game with a nice story. I S ranked every level and my only real complaint is the short run time and how obtuse some levels can be. Also anytime the game asks you to slide and then do something very quickly right after is BS but honestly this game was close to perfect and was exactly what it advertised and what i wanted from it. The challenge levels though are lowkey way to hard to S rank
Idk why the devs thought to make this the 3rd mainline mafia game. I think its solid for what it is but suffers from early woke nonsense being thrown into games because why tf is a mafia game centered around a black man in new Orleans. That aside the game itself is something i enjoyed the main issue outside of whether or not it will resonate with you as a player is how repetitive everything is. The game makes a big open world with little to do in it and all the missions play out the same even the dlc stuff.Signs of the times is the best one but that one has the most amount of time waste within it and the other two offer some side missions after completion but only exist to give you more bland tasks to do.I thought the story was decent for what it was but wasn't anything to write home about. I enjoyed the game for what it was because i liked what it did. But the whole process felt long and dragged out with a number of moments and scenes being far to predictable and a lot of extra busy work. Also on PC the game lowkey looked terrible even on high settings so idk if thats a game issue or if was just that poorly ported onto pc. Not to mention all the audio and visual glitches
Im a big fan of roguelikes but this one comes down to how much you're okay with not having control over. You have no real control of anything which automatically is gonna put people off. I was beating each level one by one but once i got to the fishing spot level that was my tipping point honestly. Spent like 2 weeks trying to beat that one and than another week on pinball level. I tried the danger wheel level twice and was like nope im out. Its neat that they have a bunch of extra modes and challenges for those of you who like this kinda game and it definitely has some charm and you easily dump dozens of hours into it. Or you can just play it on occasion for a more casual experience
A short roguelike indie game very similar to luck be a landlord where you have to spin to keep alive, using charms, luck and some guts you do your best to meet your deadlines every 3 rounds or face death
A neat little indie game about a special agent trying to stop a global take over with his DEI agency buddies. The story is serviceable for what it is and the gameplay was fun. Theres a bunch of side missions you can do but the campaign was enough for me. Only a 2 hour run time but for what it is i thought it was fine
Hands down one of the best games ive played all year. It does everything doom 2016 was trying to do but much better. From the soundtrack, to the combat, the story and even just genreal progression and secrets everything had a much better flow to it. The final few boss fights really didnt do it for me though as they play out the same with you trying to take down a big boss with enemies on the ground trying to stop you. I understand what they were going for but it really just made things annoying and tedious. Otherwise this game was perfect. BUT DONT PLAY THE DLC IT **** ****
A very short indie game about cleaning up crime scenes with a far deeper story than i expected. The enemy ai is honestly really dumb and the fact you can jump in a closet right infront of them to avoid getting caught is dumb. The later levels feel like a drag and the game never really does anything to warrant any sense of excitement of joy
The follow up to robo cop rogue city is more of the same. Both in the good and bad. It still does its best to do the larger scale action and explosions going off stuff but due to the environments its toned down. The gameplay is still the same and there's still little side missions in helping civilians in between shootouts. They try adding emotional stakes once again by introducing new characters who i assume are related to the movies but idk. Regardless once again as the player i had no investment in anything they were really trying to push. This villain was better than the last in my opinion but only marginally. The writing is generic but worse this time. There's less downtime which is good. I like that they brought back the ocp chips for the gun upgrades and the skill tree. Though i woulda preferred robo being super strong from the beginning rather than having to let him up all over again. The game ran far worse though for some reason especially on steam deck with constant stuttering, frame drops and freezing. It wasnt a whole lot better playing on the xbox rog ally x which is kinda crazy but it was ateaslt more stable there.Overall it was nice to play as robo some more but rather than evolve and improve the series, this being the studios second game with him i expected a better overall experience not regression. For every little thing they improved from the first game they mess something else up. If you liked the first game you'll like this one but it wont be as satisfying in my opinion
Neat little game about cooking eggs. Was better and deeper than i expected. I hate having to deal with the **** though also walking everywhere super slowly is annoying
The game on a technical level has some issues but its really just the jank from this game being as old as it is. Idk what the original is like but this game was pretty good all things considered. The boss fights arent good though especially the last one. I do like all the gadgets you get and how we learn more about jango. Its a very interesting game and look at a character with plenty of backstory. You also get a digital comic with the game which i read and liked. Makes me want to learn more about jango. Overall i had a good time but some jank got in the way and i was sorta in between on how the game tells you next to nothing about how to complete your objectives or where to go for them. Its not hard to figure out but can make the game drag a bit when you dont know how or what to do. I kinda like how the game has a 5 lives system per mission but i had to completely restart 3 of the levels multiple times due to them either ending in boss fights or having certain sections have had infinite respawning enemies. Overall the run time feels good but the game is defeinelty short. Solid though
A great sequel to the original kingdom rush that keeps the gem system from the mobile version which is much appreciated. The jungle levels are lowkey bs but the game as a whole is just building on top **** base from the previous game and stirkes the nail almsot perfectly. The new hero's are also a great addition even if a number of them are a bit middling
A very interesting game for sure that reminds me of an old flash i played back in the day. Stealth is definitely your friend and the game takes realism to heart as enemies will hear even silenced shots as they would in real life if in close proximity. That being said having played on true difficulty it felt more like being punished rather than challenged and ironically being loud and reckless made things easier even if it took multiple attempts to get the job done. The second half of the game is made all the more difficult cause you no longer have armor or gadgets unless you find them on the map. The story is nothing to write home about which is fine but the game left me more agitated then satisfied which was a major disappointment.
Easily the worst mystery game ive ever played with terrible writing. It starts off so strong in the opening hours then falls off a cliff when you realize hoe rigid solving the issue is. It has 4 endings and i got ending 1 and 4 with 4 being honestly really great but that doesn't prevent the game from being obtuse and rather pretentious more often than not.
One of the few games where the story is great and really drives home the point of what youre doing. The gameplay on the other hand is stiff and while adequate not much beyond that. Also the music ****, it sounds like the devs just put his friends garage band music into the game in hopes someone would look it up and it not only feels out of place but frankly just isnt good and any time it comes on it just kills the mood. Also the game is super buggy and frankly its to much of a mess to really recommend
A much better game than its predecessor with better puzzle design and some nice quirkiness to it. Much better save points this time around. The ending was interesting. My biggest knock on the game was the stupid purple door puzzles, how was i suppose to figure that out, dumb.
This being one of the launch titles on xbox one really is funny to think about because how did they think this was going to go well. Graphically speaking the game does still look good but it also does still look like an xbox one game. The gameplay is shallow and pedantic as it gets old after the first chapter and you dont even have to actually correct due the executions as the game just gives em to you even when you mess up. The story is neat in concept but far to short to have any real depth with 2 sorta twists that work but felt somewhat bland. Overall the game was just the definition of Mid
The game is great for what it is but i definitely wanted more as the game is very short. Great introduction to warhammer for me as ive never interacted with it and i found the story to be good with a very nice twist which you could see coming yes but i didnt know what it would be. The boss fights are anti climatic though and the ending left something to be desired but i had fun overall and would recommend the game to people who know nothing about the series.
Playing on steam deck required some tweaking and using a community layout and while it was rough going to start im glad i stuck with it. The game that started it all was fantastic both with its sharp writing and solid ai plus decent gun play with a wide array of weapons to choose from.
For a game that really isnt deep and doesnt have a story the gameplay loop is super satisfying and justifies the price tag easily. Its just pure simple fun
I had been meaning to play this game for a while so now that i've finally gotten around to it i had a decent amount of fun. Its nothing that'll blow your socks off and frankly i think its trying to hard to be something it doesnt need to be with a overly convoluted plot that has a twist you see coming from a mile away with most of the dialogue being useless. The sound track is great and the combat is fluid. Enemy Ai is solid but the game takes to much time up introducing every new enemy by claiming to have like 100 of them but they all generally fight the same just with a different skin. The game as a whole i try to add layers to make itself come off as deep but instead it just adds fluff to a game that doesnt need any.
One of the better sniper games out there for sure. It has pretty good graphics and the maps are really big with a number of side objectives and challenges to complete. The game has pretty good customization options and i like how in order to buy upgrades on guns and such you have to spend money. You earn it by completing contracts or looting what you can off of bodies. Nothing is restricted either from the start which is nice. Biggest issue is that despite the games verified status on deck the game is honestly to much for it to handle or the optimization is just that bad because it crashed my deck multiple times just straight shut it down completely from what i assume was overheating issues. The game also does not have manual saves for whatever reason so if you were to sit still in one spot and kill like 20 guys before getting killed yourself. congrats you have to do it all over again because the game only autosaves in certain unmarked locations as you move around the map. The enemy Ai is incredibly stupid ffor the most part. They flip flop between being utterly blind and have eagle eyes. I genuinely dont get it. So to make up for this you are incredibly fragile both with fall damage and with how much damage you can take overall. A single regular troop is more than enough to take you down if you get caught off guard or outta cover. Which again without manual saves can make you end up repeating certain sections really annoying.
While you dont have to beat every mission to beat the campaign i took the liberty of doing so and frankly i thought the actual gameplay and overall challenge was fun. What i didnt like was the communist story about seizing the means of production BS alongside the color switching mechanic. Also the creators are very gay as they have pride color sets in the game which is cringe. All personal taste kind of stuff that simply exists to bog the game down. Some color ways are really hard to see through and i swear the grading system is broken or the expectations for a S grade are just astronomical. Also the game has a roguelike iteration of itself if you want more after beating the campaign which is nice. Its more in depth than you may think and has a 3 lives sorta system which is pretty neat.
The definition of mid in my opinion. The game is nothing just random objectives and a overall grind. The "combat" is incredibly shallow and some of the collectibles which there are 100's of mind you are incredibly annoying to get sometimes as you have jump outta the water incredibly high at times or get on land and flop around to get it. 80% of this game is just you swimming to wherever youre trying to be. At first you're to weak to do much so taking on enemies is annoying and tedious but then once you get to elder state you basically cant be killed by anything and even when ganged up on by multiple enemies. THe story was cool and i like how it was directed. The experience as a whole is pretty short but a game like this you dont wanna play long anyways. You just play it in short bursts. The graphics are mostly nice aside from human npcs but whatever i guess. But even taking on humans feels boring as they all attack the same. The game isnt bad its just very shallow with little reason to actually go after everything.
Game exceeds all expectations and they were very high. Top tier roguelike game im super happy i played it, cant give it a 100 though because of some the cringe and gay in it otherwise its great.
An okay pool roguelike with not a lot of depth behind it. I felt like my abilities were getting me damaged more often than anything else and they didnt even feel particularly helpful to begin with. The procedurally generated maps are okay but can be really obtuse making winning that round really annoying and it doesnt help that the game explains nothing to you so i just had to figure it out on the fly which wasnt hard by any means just a tad annoying. Game was okay which is fine seeing as i didnt have huge expectations for it anyways
Neat little game in the same vein as inside and limbo. Some of the answers to the puzzles felt obtuse as they were one off things you did which stumped me including the final puzzle as the game doesnt tell you what to do ever which is nice cause games do to much hand holding in my opinion but also i dont care to be stuck cause the game literally gives me no indication of what im suppose to do. Giving the game a 7.5 as i dont really feel like these shorter 2d platformer games deserve very high ratings when theyre barley games to begin with and more so artistic depictions of a larger idea or concept which is neat in its own right but not worthy of a particularly high rating in my opinion
Very good deck building rogue like with some good dlc and little to no filler. Bosses are cool and progression feels great. The RNG is terrible sometimes though making you feel like youre at the mercy of the game at times especially in the later stages which can really kill the fun.
Aside from a few boring missions here and there i think the game holds up very well and ran great on steam deck, rare frame dips otherwise nothing to note bugs wise and the story overall still hold up well even if the ending to the game happens quickly and suddenly. All that aside i felt like the overall dialogue of the whole game felt ahead of its time looking back on it. Fun game
A quick and easy experience. Well worth the price with a big upgrade tree, more systems than i expected and overall a fun experience. Only issue was i hit a wall and had to grind for a good bit between prestige 11 and 12 but after that back to smooth sailing. Really enjoyed the progression and continually growing scale of everything
I like the art style and the game really gets you into the groove of things quickly and the moveset you have plus arm cannon all come together really well against enemies who are very good at gunning you down if youre not careful. Overall the objectives fell good to complete and while the story.. uh exists thats not why youre here of course. Some level designs early on arent great but with how fast youre moving you just gotta be conscience of any drops. The levels are quick and simple so you never really worry about dying. Price tag is pretty high tho for the short experience and idk why this game absolutely shreds the steam decks battery but all the same i had a great time
Hands down one of my favorite 3rd person shooter franchises. These games have only gotten better with each new entry into the series. They have really good replayability and let you tackle the missions as you please. Lots of challenges and a decent amount of side objectives and collectibles to find. Gun customization is nice and the Maps are great in both size and scope. The AI is pretty good at surrounding you and knowing what to do. The sniper mechanics are great and this series cant get enough praise. Only issue is the lack of missions but they do pack a lot into what they do provide
Im not gonna lie this one was kind of a let down for me but its sorta my own fault cause i watched a youtube video about this game which was the driving factor to finally play it over other games in my backlog. Im a big fan of the previous metro games but given the premise of this one and how strong it starts out with the first open area being really neat to explore and all the game just dropped in quality like right after. It was never bad but it progressively got worse going from like a 8.5 down to a 6 as time went on. The jankiness from the original games is still here and artium is still a silent protagonist which is fine but here it didnt make sense as people are constantly talking to him even asking him questions and he just doesn't respond, When characters are explaining or just talking to you. you have the abilty to move around or just walk away if you dont care for the expository dialogue but idk why they couldnt have just made cutscenes for these and for whatever reason they all just drag on so long that they sorta lose focus. The story is fine but again it starts of really strong and just turns to mush with the ending being somewhat predictable and sorta just outta the blue, there is no final fight or boss battle or anything and it wasnt needed but the final locations and creatures you fight just feel a bit like a slog. I had fun while playing but in retrospect the game failed to live up to the premise it set and some of that may be my own expectations for it but all the same its hard to rate the game highly when nothing past the first few hours is nearly as exciting or fun
I never played the original so when i saw they were remaking it i was excited. I missed a lot of games from this era so being able to play them now in more modern state with better graphics and gameplay it feels great to finally experience what so many did before me years ago. From the story to the gun play everything was great, the atmosphere was done to perfection and figuring out where to go was easy and the enemies were great to fight against. Not really sure why some people didn't like the ending as i enjoyed it. I really liked the side content and completed all of it, i thought half the guns were useless tho lowkey as i only ever really used the ripper, plasma cutter, flamethrower and pulse rifle the other guns felt more like gimmicks then anything else. I did find the backtracking to be a bit annoying only cause issac moves so slowly but i understand you need that for the tension. All in all it was an amazing game that really had me hooked start to end
Never understood the amount of hype this game got or why its so critically acclaimed i think its fun as this is my 3rd playthrough of it and while there's a number of things to like about the game it also as a whole can feel like a slog at times due to how long it takes to kill just a regular zomibe, running outta stamina quickly both in parkour and when fighting and so on. Its definitely worth a play though im just not super big on it
No having a dedicated second joystick aside the game was amazing both the single player and the multiplayer plus plenty of extra game modes and customization for both online and offline play
got recommended this game by jake baldino and it was one of my first buys on steam deck. no fps issues no hit box issues, no cheese, no annoying extra mechanics. just solid nonsensical fun
First time playing on my steam deck but my third time playing the gameI still remember when people were upset about the game and claiming you had to pay to win cause of the loot box esc system with orks but in reality people were speeding through the campaign and didnt stop to grab collectibles or mess around in the world at large Dont much care for the dlc tbh as its underwhelming but a nice addition. Regardless its a great game that has a decent amount of replay value and goes on sale often. Also check Fanatical or instant gaming for the complete or GOTY edition
Originally played this on the switch and now played it on xbox and steam deck. Its a fun pick me up that when played on the hardest difficulty actually gives a challenge **** there's no sequel and the dlc they added is nice and while the game is auto generated it does feel the same after 1 or 2 more play throughs but for the most part the cost is justifiable and its fun flat out
I played the developers original game in Dusk til dawn which I highly recommended, this one on the other hand is harder to. While there's some fun to be had the acting is bad, cutscenes can drag on even if they have no reason to. The dialogue choices never felt super impactful and despite there be 3 endings and having the witch trials end differently each playthrough getting a different ending was harder then it should've been but i think that's the fault of narrow story telling ina pick your adventure game which is ironic. The characters and plot as a whole make sense. But i think the whole bus driver storyline holds the game back, would've preferred just a regular "how many people can you keep alive" game again.
