Arctic Eggs. What a game. What an experience. In this super busy month of quality indie games hitting non stop, I think Arctic Eggs will stick with me for a long time. While it isn’t ideal on Steam Deck out of the box, the community control layout made it my favorite way to experience Arctic Eggs. The soundtrack, aesthetic, and vibe are superb here. It’s time to fry eggs and change lives.

Arctic Eggs is one of those weird little indie games that sneaks up on you and refuses to leave your brain. You’re frying illegal eggs in a bleak, surreal world using janky-but-intentional physics, and somehow it turns into a strangely meditative experience. The vibe, soundtrack, and writing are doing a lot of heavy lifting here, and they absolutely nail it. It’s not perfect, controls can feel awkward at first but once it clicks, it really clicks. Short, odd, memorable, and full of personality.

This is a Gimmick game, and so your enjoyment comes down entirely to whether or not you enjoy the Gimmick, and unfortunately I don't. Furthermore this game has nothing to it outside of its Gimmick, There are plenty of gimmick games out there that underneath its gimmick, there's a solid game, this is not one of those games
