El Paso, Elsewhere is, simply put, an incredible game. Every aspect is meticulously crafted and works in perfect harmony with the rest. It nails practically everything it tries to do. I expected it to be a lot of fun to play, but I did not expect it to be anywhere near as compelling. I wonder how long I’ll be rotating James in my head like I’ve put him in a microwave.

Fans of Max Payne will find El Paso, Elsewhere a finely-penned love letter to the action franchise, but players will likely discover the game’s heart to burn just as hotly as its gun barrels.

Great action and story blended perfectly. It feels like a remastered game from the early 2000s. It has thr pace from the past with updated controls and graphics.

El Maxo Payneo Bladeo mash up! Great gameplay, kinda iffy on the staking someone, maybe the timing is a little off sometimes but other than that great title!

El Paso, Elsewhere offers a remarkable fusion of narrative depth and engaging gameplay.

El Paso, Elsewhere is an excellent nod to the days of Max Payne, but thanks to its impressive story, surreal world and unforgettable soundtrack, it still manages to stand on its own as a top-notch shooter. With smooth, slick combat that perfectly feels like a classic action games with a modern feel, this is one terrific blast of adrenaline that anyone should check out. The Void may mess with you quite a bit, but the trip through it is definitely worth taking.

Demake visuals are the perfect match for a game that's both direct and gloriously weird.

El Paso, Elsewhere is a fun throwback that tells an interesting story, but the shooting and diving gameplay just doesn't hold its own.

El Paso, Elsewhere is a creative and thoughtful project that expertly mixes nostalgic graphics with clean controls. It’s a thrilling fight from start to finish. However, sometimes, the protagonist's monologues can feel like a pizza cutter: all edge with no point.

One of the few games where the story is great and really drives home the point of what youre doing. The gameplay on the other hand is stiff and while adequate not much beyond that. Also the music ****, it sounds like the devs just put his friends garage band music into the game in hopes someone would look it up and it not only feels out of place but frankly just isnt good and any time it comes on it just kills the mood. Also the game is super buggy and frankly its to much of a mess to really recommend

Gameplay gets stale very fast, there's not enough variety and the annoying aspects will always make me feel either dizzy due to camera or frustrated due to controls.
Story has an interesting concept but execution is pompous and "insists upon itself" a lot. Soundtrack is soundcloud tier embarrassment and dialogue is ridden with teenage level ideas of coolness and humor.

Pompous jank. Very simple, gimmicky gameplay. Camera is annoying as it clips into walls occasionally, so when you’re backed in a corner, you’re screwed. Not very engaging, levels are repetitive, lack of enemy variety, weapons, etc. Story is uninteresting and comes across as pretentious and overblown, especially for the accompanying art style. Essentially, as Peter Griffin said, it insists upon itself. Only positive is that the Max Payne style gameplay can be fun in short bursts, but overall it’s a rather dull and uninteresting experience.
