The Little Mermaid2

Disney needs to stop the live-action remakes. There is no way for me to personally review this without comparing it the animated version, so I will just say that as someone from the Caribbean... I REALLY dislike the musical changes that removed the Caribbean feel of the original.

Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker0
Dec 21, 2019
Why is Star Wars still a thing? The loss of a single creative direction has led to an inconsistent series that makes no sense when closely scrutinized. Let the past die and come up with a new IP instead of kicking the dead horse.

This fresh take on the Joker's origin does not do a disservice to the character.

Toy Story 42
Sep 28, 2019
An unnecessary sequel considering the adequate ending that was provided for the series by Toy Story 3. Wish they had just started with a new set of Toys and did a new beginning.

Captain Marvel0
Mar 8, 2019
A "meh" movie. Normally I would rate a movie like this a 5/10, but I am rating it lower for being an unnecessary cash grab before the release of the final Avengers movie. Marvel should have released this after Avengers Endgame. It is hard to care about any new characters when the ones we already know are in peril. The existence of Captain Marvel makes the events of the prior movies seem less important. You have to wonder where this character was when the Guardians of the Galaxy or Avengers needed help. Why did Nick Fury not care enough about the Earth in the prior movies that he did not call her for help? This movie creates too many plot holes in the Marvel universe.

Aquaman10

Great popcorn film. Wonder Woman had more depth, but the action in Aquaman was far more spectacular. Wonder Woman and Aquaman are the only two good movies that DC has released recently.

Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi0
May 28, 2018
Fails to deliver on what was promised with The Force Awakens. It truly seems like it was written by new writers that had no interest in continuing the set up from the previous movie. This led to a movie that created nothing but plot holes in the overall story. I am no longer interested in watching any more Star Wars movies (Was never a Star Wars fan to begin with, so no big loss) and will stick with movies/series that try to be well written and cohesive.

X-Men: First Class7
Jun 20, 2017
This movie was better than all the other previous X-Men movies. However, it was not faithful to one of the key elements of the original comics. I would have liked the movie to include the mutants struggle for civil rights, which was notably absent. This adaptation chose to play it safe and put that people were unaware of the existence of mutants.

Wonder Woman9

Seems DC has gotten back into the business of making movies that people will enjoy, instead of the previous plan of making movies that are dark and edgy. I prefer this new approach as it is more faithful to the spirit of what comic-book super heroes were all about.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice0
Apr 13, 2016
I wish this was handled differently. It takes all the negatives from the Man of Steel and multiplies them ten times over. I will say that Ben Affleck is the best looking live action Batman and Henry Cavill is the best looking Superman. Both actors are wasted in this movie and truly deserve to be in a better film.

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens9
Dec 26, 2015
This movie has done what I thought would be impossible... It got me interested in Star Wars again. I had originally lost all interest in the franchise after watching the prequels. This movie essentially copied many elements from "A New Hope", which in a sense makes it almost feel like a reboot for the series. This is basically Star Wars for a new generation of kids.

The Dark Knight Rises6
Dec 26, 2015
I found this movie to be fairly disappointing with sub-par writing. There are numerous glaring plot holes in this movie that just make no sense when closely analyzed.

The Dark Knight10

Surprisingly enough this sequel was somewhat better than Batman Begins in many ways. I would strongly recommend this movie for anyone that enjoyed the first movie.

Batman Begins9
Dec 26, 2015
This movie breathed new life into a movie franchise that was declared dead by many due to the 1997 movie Batman and Robin. Christopher Nolan returns the Batman live action films to the darker/grittier tone that was started by Tim Burton. I can easily recommend this movie to fans of Batman.

Dredd10
Dec 20, 2015
Surprisingly good adaptation of Judge Dredd. Skip the 1995 film and give this one a watch, if you are a fan of the comic. I would recommend this movie to anyone that likes action movies with slick visuals.

Man of Steel6

I feel this movie was lacking in heart and wholesomeness, something that I would have expected to find in a Superman origin story. This adaptation completely failed to immerse me into, or even introduce me to, the world of Superman... and by "world" I mean Metropolis and Smallville. The destruction of Metropolis and death of Pa Kent failed to illicit any emotion out of me, as the movie did not develop these key elements of Superman's life. The audience is just expected to care about these occurrences by default. However, these are not my primary issues with the movie. For a first installment of a franchise, this movie went overboard on its plot and action. DC should have had this movie's plot take place on a smaller scale, therefore giving a sequel sufficient room to up the ante. Marvel did this very well with their superhero franchises. Marvel started their hero's initial movie on a fairly small scale and increased the threat level in subsequent films till it reached the high level of world destruction we saw in the "Avengers". Unfortunately "Man of Steel" has already desensitized the audience to the world being at risk of destruction; therefore, the only way a Justice League movie can up the ante is now with the destruction of the galaxy or universe. I don't even know how a sequel to the "Man of Steel" can up the ante properly. Zod is arguably the only villain to be Superman's true equal as they are both Kryptonians. The ridiculous level of collateral damage done in this movie, due their battle, was way over the top and made the fight between the Hulk and Abomination from "The Incredible Hulk" look like child's play. In order for a sequel to top this movie, Superman will have to face somebody on the scale of Doomsday, Darkseid or Brainiac. In future installments, A villain like Lex Luthor would seem too tame in comparison to Zod. How could a villain like Lex Luthor compare with the total annihilation of humanity? In my opinion, Lex Luthor should have been the first villain introduced and the story should have started out on the smaller scale of stopping the villain from taking over the city or country.
