I read the original trilogy before I started the series which was a mistake. If I would have approached the series as a today`s scifi series, I might have fairly enjoyed it. It`s well done entertainment. But with Asimov`s highly intelligent concept in mind the series falls depressingly short and I dropped out after a few episodes.

A few episodes into the first season I`m rather disappointed. You can see the ambition everywhere but it all feels generic. There is no real creative vision behind this series, at least so far. It`s not bad but also not interesting enough to keep me hooked. Not sure whether I will continue.

You see the ingredients for a fun show. Great actors, beautiful locations, an entertaining story. But it somehow didn`t click for me. It lacks a distinctive artistic vision. It seems like a mix of Bosch and the White Lotus but has neither the local authenticity of the first nor the bleak cynicism of the later.
