I recommend this movie. After reading some of the critical reviews, I felt let down. The movie is quite lovely. Yes, it is a slow build, a necessary plot device to set the stage for a seminal event in Memo’s life that created this shy and reclusive Man/child. I loved the characters as the film examines themes of celebrity, integrity and worth.

In recent weeks I have read a number of critics reviews and recommendations for the movie and it's worthiness of an Oscar. I was also curious about the themes of art imitating life with Michael Keaton's performance, as well as a cinema verite look at fame, ego, and art. While it is true these themes were explored, it didn't seem authentic, rather just another exercise in ego for these actors and Director. This is a congratulatory piece of film making made for the critics to validate THEIR wit, intelligence and insight on what poses as Art. Hope you all had fun, but I a real ticket purchasing human thought it was a scam......
