Personally I likes the game a lot. The game improved a lot, but due to the budget restrictions it did not became a 10! There should be a lot of features included, that it would be excellent. Look at the differences I will sum some of the differences between SNES version and Shadow run Return. Snes: Battle is button mashing. New: A lot of choice like fire gun, robot, use items like heal or grenades, use spells. hide World Snes: Can move around more freely and revisited places. New: game world cannot be revisited after entering a new quest area. Places can be revisted depending on how the game is build up. But that can be changed with the game editor I guess. Loot Snes: Can loot dead people New: Bodies go away. Earn Karma snes and New: the same. Just do certain things to earn it. Character customization New: much more options like Decker software which are your spells in the digital world. Personal stats improve the ability of drone or enable you to use certain hardware snes version: No editor New: game editor! Snes: NPC's move around New: most NPC stand around and just talk. New saving: It's mainly done after you goto a new area. No option to save in between. End verdict: 8, I enjoyed the Snes version a lot. And I enjoy the new one even more, but would like to see small improvements by adding new features into the game, thaen it would be awesome!

Review #2: The game world is very diverse. In every chapter new things are implemented. The game keeps being refreshing chapter after chapter. Quiet well planned. The enemies are not just basic, with their own skills and stats, but some enemies have co-exists and boost each others powers. This can be seen by a leaper with a red shielding, making invulnerable Or a soldier with 2 leaper slaves which attack first, these leapers have some kind of connection with it's host. This can be seen with the communication line between master and leaper slaves. During the battle you try to execute the highest combo, thus earning yourself much more 'exp' points to boost your skills. This game is no longer a buton mashing game, can be, but to really enjoy the game you have to try to use combo's. Just one impressive game.

Metro: Last Light

The game is in some ways better than the previous metro 2033, on the other side some new features should be done differently. Good things: - More types of monsters - the metro feels more alive, more is happening there. - New way yo take down human enemies, by knocking them unconscious. - Stealth system has improved, enemies must individually see you to know your location. and you will have a moment of doubt if you walk into light, if you get out of the light quickly the guards will doubt they saw you. The less good: - The human enemy knockdown is too powerfull, it works on all medium armored humans. Will not work on heavy armored humans. It works both when you ar undetected as when you are detected. You can run towards the enemy and knock them unconscious. Just too powerful. Needs tweaking here. - Stealth needs tweaking too, enemies won't see you when you are right in front them. And you walks always 100% silent, that's not realistic. I miss the glass on the ground which made stealth a challenge in Metro 2033. In last light you can walk around without much problems, it lacks challenge. - In normal difficulty the throw knifes do not reflect of armor pieces, which did happen in Metro 2033. That's a shame really, that made it more realistic. Overall I must say I enjoyed it. It's worth the 8. With some good tweaks it can be higher!

Bridge Project

I am not a technical engineer. But started looking at the game, because it's somehow related to Christianity believe. I wanted to know how to build bridges. Tried the first bridge and it collapsed. Started thinking, why? then tried again and succeeded. Trying to improve my design and create my own cheapest bridge possible. The controls needs time to get used too. There is an simple advanced construction user interface. The simple interface speaks for himself. There is an help button that tells some basic keyboard shortcuts. That helps, no need to look into a PDF manual.... After construction you can test the bridge with a per-defined test. For the 1st bridge that is 2 cars drving towards the bridge in opposite direction. Followed by one heavy passenger bus. If all goes well you will pass these 2 tests and can continue or re-play this level and try to lower the building costs even more! You can activate the stress indication system, that will show which parts are being stressed in real-time as vehicles drive over it. Build bridges of simple wood only to steel structures.... The graphics can be adjusted from night to day and any time between them, the reflections and shadows change with it off course. All in all I must say it's a refreshing game, not just the usual shooter, RPG genre. Well this time it's a bridge simulator. Have a build by trying the trial. And that's not a construction person speaking....

Yes, game is linear. Yes, game does not offer characters to really have a relationship with. Yes, the main character (you) cannot talk during the game, only talks in cut scenes. Yes, the game has not weapon customization, but a few weapons to choose from. Althought above 'missing features' the game is: still very enjoying to play even if you know some enemies will pop-up after 3rd time play. still has a story that could depict the future earth if we are truly so stupid to think war solves problems. still.... only the small world that is heavily scripted, creates the immersion if I compare this with games like Skyrim, I rather have Metro 2033. The reason is simple: the action moments are very compact, good scriptted action after good scripted action. In skyrim, you have to wait and see what happens. Usually skyrim gives another boring fight. THAT's why so many people like me like Metro 2033. I am not giving a 10 because it can still be improved.

This game looks huge, is huge, looks good. The world and characters are very good looking. The weather effects are nice. Overall it's joyful and fun to play, but there are a few things that could have been much better. The main quest is really short. There is no feel of something grand going on. It's just you against the bad guys. Yes you can bring a companion with you, and from time to time you escort someone to safety, but it still feels empty and lonely. From time to time you get jumped by a thief who asks for your purse, or same bandits roaming certain places. You can almost tell which one will have bandits. The side quests are usually boring. Fetch this, get that at X then go back. They should have attached more quests to the main story instead of having a 'billion' side quests. Fighting style is limited to certain combinations, the skill list is big but alas they forced the player to choose certain style combo. That's a shame. The UI is not good enough I think. AS a caster I have to switch really fast between spells, or I must pause and then choose. As a caster it's difficult to play. Arrows will kill you instantly when the archers start getting much better arrows and bows. Throw a few melee enemies and you can't do much as a caster then keep distance and behind cover, otherwise it's death. Spells to slow targets or keep them away are limited. Talking about spells... you will keep using the same spells for a long time. The expert and master spells are only available at 90 and 100 for master. 100 points is max for any magic skill level, which means you have to train and grind till 90! by that time you are over lvl 30 and played many hours with the same spells. At level 90 summoning skill and lvl 35 character I could buy my Summon ice pet, before that I had to use my weak wolf. And my fire elemental that has fireballs. The idea of an RPG is to get new spells and rewards from time to time, but that is soo limited. Another thing that annoys me, and shows that it's a bit unfinished or rushed: you get a certain title archmage very quickly as if you earned it by doing a few quests. It's just not realistic.... or immersive. Skyrim is fun, but could have been much better. It fee;s like they focused a lot on the visuals, then created a quick and short main quests and start selling the game. In the meanwhile create extra DLC to earn more, to fill the gaps that the main quest should have. After looking at the start of the game I expected a lot. But alas the start is great, but the ending is not always shiny. So I understand why so many people voted mixed or negative. Thanks to the modding world and skyrim Nexus mod program, the game is worth **** this should not be the way to create games.... Without mods it should be a blast to play.... and not what it;s now...

What are the strong points? - Story driven with many cut scenes - Respond to your party member question and influence them positively or negatively. - Use keyboard or microphone to control actions party member. Like fire, regroup, attack, etc - Powerup stats of player and/ or weapon. - Very diverse robots - Huge Robot bosses Negative points: - Party members sometimes walk in front of your firingl line. Their AI is not always correct. Recommend if you like shooter, robots (mechs), Sci-fi near future world , story.

This game is fun and plays differently depending on what weapons you chose to upgrade. There are 2 main types of weapons: Standard: shorgun, machine gun, rocket launcher, mine, etc Energy based: railgun, plasma ball gun, electric bomb thrower, etc Each weapon has 3 upgrades that give extra effects or even new posibilities. Like the railgun being able to use X ray vision and easily hit targets behind objects. Or homing electric balls, etc The interface with doors and upgrade terminal is cleverly using the PC mouse. If your pointer is close to the terminal screen it changes to a small pointer and you can click the button to open the door. The level design has destructable surroundings, that could help you defeat enemies. The enemies are not limited to a few, but the boss fights are nice! They are huge! Between the levels there is an animated video telling the story in between. Interesting way of drawing. This game stands out in the whole list of doom clones. Certainly entertaining.

This game has good things and a few bugs that spoil the gamefun. The things that should not be in the final game are: - animation when hit feels and looks not as a finished product. Things that could be improved: - A bit too easy to play. It plays like a shooter in third person view. - The controls are ok, some people complain about it, but I find it ok. - The A.I is basic, the enemies do hide away after getting hit. Good things about the game: - The greying out, without a health-bar is cleverly incorporated. Let's the player focus on the action. - The game is diverse. Platform, shooter, Bike to race to the next place. The bike riding takes a bit of practise. After that you can speed throught. Gives a nice feeling of speed. - The world is nicely drawn. - Can take 3 types of guns/rifles with you. Can switch between them. - As a man I do like the playable female chars. =) - The western setting with 20th century robots and weapons is refreshing. I played most great games and this game does not shine like those top games, but does not deserve a place among the worst games. It's still enjoyable. They could have made this game much better. The potential is there.
