Yooka-Laylee4
May 14, 2017
This is one of the most disappointing games of the year. I heard mixed things but decided to take the plunge anyway. Yooka-Laylee somehow manages to get things wrong that games like Jak and Daxter 1 or even Super Mario 64 did excellently. The level design is is atrocious, everything feels like its just been thrown at a wall and left as is. The controls feel slippery and unresponsive. It is very easy to get lost in even the smallest sections of a level and since most locations lack distinctive landmarks you often end up aimlessly roaming around a level looking for the next mini-game/objective. Speaking of which a lot of the mini-games in this game are horrible. The hoop race is an excellent example of how not to implement variety into 3d collectathon platformers, especially when the controls are as bad as they are. You'd be much better off digging out your old favourite collectathons or re purchasing them instead of wasting your money on this.

Capcom vs. SNK 210

Quite honestly one of Capcoms greatest fighting games, slick sprites, awesome backgrounds and great music paired with a diverse roster and multiple play styles. Its a few bucks on PSN go buy it now.

Far Cry 48
Sep 27, 2016
Only picked this up for the PS3 because it came bundled with Far Cry 3 for $15, I wasn't expecting to enjoy this game much because I was coming straight out of Far Cry 3 and was playing it on the PS3 (I played the demo on PS4 it looked amazing). However Ubisoft surprised me and it ran better than Far Cry 3 and still looked really good. The game play is a tune up from Far Cry 3 which is good because Far Cry 3 was fine as it was. The story and characters were pretty good as well. There are a few graphical glitches, some of the pre rendered clips look a bit pixelated and there are some frame drops, however if you're looking for a good time on last gen consoles I would consider picking this game up.

inFamous: Second Son10
Jul 8, 2016
Infamous second son is one of the PS4s best exclusives and you should definitely buy it. Delsin is an interesting character and has interesting relationships that play put over the course of the game. You also get to use a large variety of powers which are all useful and fun to use. Finally unlike the other two preceding games the morality system makes you feel like you're actually making serious choices. Buy this game.

inFamous: First Light9

This game is an amazing expansion to second son. It looks great and has great controls. This game expands on the character Fetch and fleshes out her story that was brushed upon in second son. The "neon" powers are also expanded upon and they were cool in second son but are completely amazing in this game. The only real problem was that the game is rather short but the cheap price helps make up for it. If there's a PS4 game you need to add into your collection it's this one.

Street Fighter V9
Jul 1, 2016
The reviews for this game are overly negative. I bought this game day one, and to be honest it want that great, but after the first new character? This game is already picking up fast. There is now a story mode and four new characters. The online and local multiplayer is fun. Oh before you freak out about the lack of an arcade mode it's called SURVIVALS.

Fantastic, I haven't played a game like this in years. It's funny, well paced, and very fun. At the price there selling this game at ($40) it is a steal.

Rayman Origins6
Dec 26, 2015
One of the best games of 2012 on a handheld? Sounds pretty good. Buuuuut we are playing this game on the 3ds. The sound files are horribly compressed along with the visuals. The rest of the game is pretty good and they have adapted the game to suit the circle pad. But since the two issues make up a big part of the experience this port ain't to good.

Star Wars Battlefront4
Dec 10, 2015
Sigh. Star Wars battlefront from a visual stand point is excellent. It looks good, really good. It also sounds fantastic. That's about what you're certain about when picking this up. The single player in Star Wars battlefront is actually pretty good, survival and battles are fun but they will hold your attention for about three hours, tops. Multiplayer is alright which is worrying considering that is the main meat. First off unless you're playing a more popular game mode you'll struggle to get into smaller ones which is a pain in the ass. But when you do find a match you're not going to have much fun, the way guns work is stupid since by the time you kill one person your guns overheated and his friend has killed you. This game is bargain bin fodder and as long as you don't have high expectations for the game you might salvage some enjoyment. Eh.

Jak and Daxter Collection10
Jul 29, 2015
The jak and daxter collection for the PS3 is simply amazing. You get a ton of easy trophies, a beautiful set of updated visuals (most visible in the first game) and 3 wonderful and fun games, each game with the updated visuals looks like it was released on 7th gen original and ten years later the series is still fun to play. By far the best way to play the series.

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance6
Jul 16, 2015
After the fun I had with Birth by sleep I was expecting a stellar experience which was not fulfilled. To start with the good things, great graphics, love the battle and drop systems and the level design and the flow motion. The game story finally moves the series forward which is a nice change. However i find this game very forgettable and the story is average, I also think this game tries to cater to much to the Nintendo crowd with the stupid and useless dream eater enemy/ party member system rather then the hard core fanbase who most likely shelled out on a 3ds just to play the game. But the script is horrible and the ability system **** ass which really is a shame meaning its harder to do the fairly lacking post game content which the series is famous for. This game overall just doesn't stack up to birth by sleep which is a real shame.

This game is freaking fantastic! It's an awesome demo of what the phantom pain is going to be. But that is all it is a demo. The main issue with the game is the asking price. The game plus all the side ops is around 5 hours long which is in excusable for $40. However considering that the game these days has been dropped to $10 on average I will not give it a hard time. The gameplay is really good although quite different from your average MGS game. If the phantom pain is like this it will be one of the best games for the 8th generation. Overall I think its a pretty good game but don't buy it at full price and if your not ok with paying money for a flat out tech demo just rent it since there is very little story and content here.

Ape Escape9

One of the best ps one platformers money can buy and a true icon for sony and the orginal playstation. It plays great and its orginal. The only problem is you have to either have a ps one or ps2 to play thi game and a dualschock controller since this isnt backwards compatiable on the ps3 and there has not been a PSN re release (bar the psp version). If you have a method to play the game DO IT! It is one of the best games for the ps1 and is well worth your time.

Rayman 2: The Great Escape4
Jun 30, 2015
It's Rayman 2 for the 10,000th time. It's kind of like a good joke that gets told way too much. In short if you have played any version of Rayman 2 you've played this if you haven't you can pick this up cheap and even though there are better ports there is nothing wrong with the game, it's **** the bottom of the "unoriginal" and diving into new and scary territory. All I can say is we could have gotten some new content but no. It's Rayman 2 anything good to say about it has been said and now feels redundant because everyone's played it 10,000 times. This is pathetic even by ubisofts standards and was a quick cash grab. To sum up ubisoft expects you to re buy a game they have been re hashing for over a decade with no new content for $40, no thanks.

Kingdom Hearts Re:coded4

When I saw this game in action I was not to happy because, guess what? You get to replay the same worlds you have been through twice! Hoo Ray! Said no one ever. As I popped this game into my 3ds I was skeptical but willing to give it a try at first I was pleased with what it started out as but the game just spiralled down in a death dive. There are four main things that annoy me. 1. They tried to take a combat system (deck commands) that was developed for superior hardware (the psp) and put it on the DS. This is only an issue because the DS can't do spectacular attacks like the psp can so you end up with very boring elemental based attacks and just clone attacks but with a different element attached to it so you don't feel the need to collect commands like you did in BBs. However there is one good thing about this system on the DS you get to see what command your going to make even if you do not have the recipe which is really good. 2. The gameplay. The gameplay in this just **** the battles are boring and most of the game is crappy mini games. Which means instead of fighting a boss in the regular kingdom hearts fashion you instead do it in a side scroller or something dumb like that. 3. The story. Yeah the reason this is a problem is because there is none! It does nothing to advance the plot so yeah... Look I can see the approach they were trying to take. With a tag line of "it's a playful world!" You know they are catering to a younger market and have in the process dumbed everything down so the younger people can understand it which is why there is no story because the series plot is convoluted and the gameplay is simplified so again the younger ones can play the game. This is obviously made for kids to attract new fans but as a series that has had a long time following I feel we needed something better (oh yeah if you want to get some one into Kingdom hearts don't buy them this just give them 1.5 or kh1 it's a better idea). By now your probably expecting a one or a two but honestly I had low expectations and don't care about this game. If you need to know the bare bones story of this game just watch the cut scenes on 2.5 or better yet read a 2 sentence plot explanation. If your a newcomer stay well away and play one of the better games. If your a fan approach with caution.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX7
May 23, 2015
If I could find 10 collectors editions 3 months after its released that's pretty bad. However this collection was still pretty good. Kingdom Hearts 1: still fun enough and is a much better adventure since the addition of new bosses, cut scenes, abilities, and weapons but what makes it better than the original is not the new content its the ability to skip cut scenes and the improvement of special abilities like ars arcrum. How ever there is nothing that special about this one and even though this is the brunt of my score. Kingdom hearts Re Chain of memories: still a piece of crap Kingdom hearts 358/2 days "The movie" big disappointment that this wasn't playable and the reason I didn't pre order the game. The cut scenes were a complete in justice to the story and pathetic. even though this game was a let down I can't help but give it a 7

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX10
May 23, 2015
Even though I have played these games on their respected platforms for well over 4 years I still really enjoyed this collection because in KH2 you get a ton of easily accessible post game content that will keep you busy for hours but you get an extra half hour of cut scenes and even though the game graphically isn't impressive it still looks great in HD. BBs how ever, is just ok even though you get a whole new story segment it feels like its not worth the effort because you either have to beat the game on critical or proud or beat it 100% on easy or standard which is quite annoying and tiresome. However this is probably my fault since I did a 100% run on the psp two months before it came out. You also get three new arena battles a slew of new commands and a better camera. Even though its a psp port it feels great on a home console. Re codded "the movie" is much better than playing the game and although not essential its still tiresome to watch. and finally what gives this a ten is completely irrelevant but, this game came out on my birthday which was awesome!

Jak 39
May 23, 2015
This game is a very good one but in comparison to Jak 2 its a rather poor follow up. Jak 3 by no means is a bad game its just bellow par, Jak 3 suffers from what I call "Mini game itis" meaning in an effort to include more game play varieties it just adds in slightly intrusive mini games. However Jak 2 did this but what makes it ok in Jak 2 there were only 5 in Jak 2 while there are at least 15 in Jak 3. How ever the setting is very cool and the driving mechanics are very fun and original. The new guns make up for the re use of old ones and although the story is watered down it is still interesting to follow because Jak makes some big discoveries through out his adventure. The new game play mechanic light Jak is very helpful with the exception of flight and time which feel quite gimmicky and useless outside of scripted areas. They have also perfected Dark Jak from something you used to have to plan to use to something you can use freely and easily without worrying about making certain events harder down the track because there is an abundance of dark eco to collect and use. This game despite being a bit of a let down compared to Jak 2 is still extremely fun and well worth your money.

Jak and Daxter Collection6
May 9, 2015
As this is on a system that can run bigger and better games let alone the slew of other collections on the vita this is a bit of a let down and feels like a crash grab, if mass media had done the port right it would be my most played game but... they rushed the port and spent too much time developing "touch" controls which are nice and sometimes necessary for mini games that require greater precision than the vitas physical controls can do. One should be warned though frame rate seems to fluctuate between regions (I'm in the PAL region). Here is a rundown of the ports Jak 1: Frame rate is pretty bad at the start but improves when you leave the first hub world. Jak 2: frame rate fluctuates but in the main city Jak can use vehicles without much choppiness (but not on foot????) and some effects seem hard to see I.e gun shots. Jak 3: see Jak 2 there is one glitch that plagues all three ports though. Jak will often try to grab a ledge but will "slip" off if that makes sense. I have gotten all the trophies in all the games proving the trilogy is playable just not pleasant per say. I would approach this one with caution or just buy the first one separately on psn and leave it at that as, after research that one seems to be the most consistently playable across all regions.

Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories3
Mar 13, 2015
I really don't like this game. But the really sad thing is if the presentation and battle system were better this would easily be in my top 3 of the franchise. The story is quite slow but picks up and the ending is quite good since it explains what happens to the trio after kh 1. BUT the battle system is garbage. You use cards instead of commands or the regular battle system and they make battles that I can deal with on Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 final mix really hard. The two main problems are: 1 you can run out of cards and have to waste time to "reload" them and 2: You cant use the conventional block and since the dodge roll is nearly useless, unless you can organize your thoughts in a stressful situation to use "card breaks" which can be annoying to organize when the boss is using their desperation move. Also presentation **** and I USUALLY don't care about presentation in a game but the level design is in excusable. The game uses cards to generate your next area which may sound small but is a big issue! I.E if you use a "calm bounty" card in atlantica and then in twilight town the area minus the textures is exactly the SAME!!! and finally there is barely any voice acting which makes the events in your boring bleak adventure even more drawn out. Even as a massive fan of the series and usually defend the games with my life, this is unacceptable even by my standards SE if you remake the game WITHOUT the cards I will change my view but 3 remakes later I dont think this will happen
