Disturbing. Some scenes are a bit too disturbing. It is in the horror genre, correctly framed, but it is not scary, but rather disturbing, disgusting, frustrating. I was really thinking during the movie "what a sick mind someone must have to conceive something like this". The symbolism of the film is fascinating... but I can't say that I realized it during the film, but only after reading the reviews. I would have seen the film differently if the symbolism had been more obvious. Actors played very well.

The theme is interesting: the sad reality of some people... but the movie is very boring. I have the feeling that nothing happened all movie, or at least the "story" could fit in 15 minutes.

It was much better than the first movie. It captured the atmosphere and events from the book well enough.

Compared to the book... it is weak adaptation... The rest of the movies were better adapted, unlike this one.

RZCDWZWZD Despite the atrocities caused by the war, it still contributed to the development of some revolutionary technologies that still shape the world we live in today: the computer, the Internet, JPL, etc. A film about a fascinating story. As I did not know much about the subject, I had the opportunity to discover with pleasure some new, fascinating information. And one of Benedict best performances.

Another movie in which Matt Damon must be saved. :))) I want to mention that I read the book before I saw the movie. Although many of the screen adaptations unfortunately lose a good part of the beautiful and important details of the stories in the books, The Martian still manages to capture the essentials. The first scenes seemed to me to be exactly as I had imagined reading the book. I really liked this movie, sci-fi is often my innocent pleasure, and the more realistic the story seems, the more I like it.

In the past, it seems that there was a greater number of movies that followed the life of a character from beginning to end, in all its complexity. Movies like Forest Gump, The Notebook, Benjamin Button, etc. And now Where the Crawdads sing. I hadn't realized how much I missed these movies, which you finish watching in the blink of an eye and still feel like you've spent hours, like you've lived a life with the character. The beginning of the movie lays the foundation for the personality and character of the main character Kya. A girl who will grow up to be withdrawn from society, as if with an anxiety towards it, a girl who prefers the comfort of her isolated world. The actress, Daisy Edgar-Jones, is exceptional in this role and manages to create these impressions about the character in a constant way, regardless of the situation, whether she is sad or happy, the basic features of the character remain the same. As for the crime in the story, as a small criticism, most of the characters had plausible reasons and I would have liked it if the film had paid more attention to them, it would have created more mystery and aroused more curiosity. I still believe that the eneding was the best way to complete the story. I want to mention that I haven't read the book and I'm sorry now that I didn't start with it.

The Glass Castle

Many movies have a "black-white"/"either white or black" narrative thread, being very clear what is good, what is bad, what you should feel, etc... Unlike these movies, The Glass Castle manages to capture the true complexity of life, a continuous oscillation among its shades of gray, and in the end I didn't really know how to feel about the events that took place in the film. The movie tends to seem "flat", like a song whose chorus never comes, although it is not boring at all, and the ending is worth the wait. Woody Harrelson is the perfect actor for this role. He tends to play a similar character in several movies, a controversial character, hard to fit into current social norms, but a character that is neither bad nor good and therefore makes you like and dislike the character in the same time. It is a role that he plays and it suits him perfectly. (ex: The Drunk from The Hunger Games, The Controversial Husband from True Detective, etc.) I am not a big fan of Brie Larson, but she did a good job in this movie.
