Every single playable class specialization has been lobotomized. Why? The game already has a Single Button Assistant (yes, it means you literally have to push just ONE button and the game plays itself for you). Dungeons have been simplified. Mobs and bosses are just more boring. To quote Ion Hazzikostas, Blizzard protects you against "degenerate gameplay", meaning, they often do not allow you to do chain pulls. They increased the distance between mob groups, most groups are immune to CC, and they created mechanics that make it really unpleasant to chain pull. Addons were neutered. You no longer have damage meters, healing addons, nameplates, weakauras, scrolling combat text, and so on and so on. The blizzard alternatives either do not exist, or are absolutely abhorrent. Everything is heavily timegated. The cash shop practices are super scummy. The ingame systems and content is the same since the Legion expansion. Pretty much the exact same content with a different skin. In 20 years they did not improve on the social aspect of the game (actually, made it worse). They could not create a better group finder, or post dungeon social bonding system or something. Very few people play the game. On previous expansion release dates and subsequent weekends I usually had 40-50 online friends (out of 250). Now I have 10-15.

Negative reviews get deleted here, including my detailed, 3000 character review. Don't believe the 5.2 user score rating. It is way, way worse. By now the honeymoon period is starting to be over for most people. Barely anyone plays it from my friends list. Out of 250 people, only a few are in the game now, less than 2 weeks after release...

Some years ago Blizzard executives said that mobile gaming is full of unrealized potential. After the release of Diablo Immortal that statement rings truer than ever. In a sea of pseudo-videogames that is mobile gaming, you know, with all its this-is-not-really-a-game-but-software-designed-to-take-your-money-through-abusing-your-addiction-and-dopamine-circuits games, and this-is-not-really-a-game-we-just-use-this-app-for-money-laundering games, which make up 99.9% of all mobile gaming, Blizzard adds their own. When I was a kid I was absolutely fascinated with Diablo, and then Diablo Hellfire. My cousins and I played the crap out of it for years. Later, when Diablo II came out, we went crazy for it. We spent years worth of christmas, easter, and birthday money to buy a new monitor, as Diablo II did not run with our 640*480 devices. With Diablo 3 we had our fair share of fun. So naturally, we really tried to love Diablo Immortal, but it's a child not even its mother could love. There are many stakes in this game's coffin which alone would be enough to allow us to call this game a steaming pile of putrid garbage. -Pay 2 Win As a free to play player you'll be sooooooo much behind in player power that it is just crazy. Even compared to people paying just a hundred or so bucks, you'll be behind. But find solace in the fact that if you keep playing, as a free to play player, eventually your hard effort and skill will bear fruits... and after a long line of account inheritance, once even your memory is gone, your great-grandkids will be able to mostly max out the stats they gain from legendary gems. As it literally takes 40-80 years of F2P to get close to maxing out your legendary gems. If you are a whale, I hope you are a fat one, as you'll be swiping hundreds of thousands of dollars - literally - to achieve that. The main P2W feature is Legendary Crests. 100 EUR will buy you 45. 1 week of farming as a free to play player will get you 2. Basically, you are buying dozens of hours of farming which is capped to 2 items per week for around 2 EUR. You are an idiot if you do not use your credit card and decide to toil for the rewards instead. But then again, you are an idiot if you consider paying for ingame power a worthy hobby to have. The legendary crests have the following drop rate for legendary gems: 2/5 star: 3.75% 3/5 star: 1% 4/5 star: 0.2% 5/5 star: 0.05% So to get JUST ONE 5/5 star gem you'll need to get around 2000 gems and pay roughly 5000 EUR. BUT WAIT, there are multiple types of gems, and most gems will not be suitable for your class / build. There are 6 legendary gem slots. So in the end it will cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars to deck out your character in max level gems. Lets say that as a F2P player you'll get 100 legendary crests per year. It will take you around 20 years of diligent farming to get a single random 5/5* legendary gem, and hundreds of years of farming to get all the 5/5* gems you want! The difference between people with 5/5 star legendary gems and F2p legendary gems is NIGHT AND DAY, and these gems not only give you a huge bonus from their extra abilities, but they also give you a huge % bonus for your equipment's stats. -Time gate Rewards are very time-gated. There is a limit put on most of the things you can do. And WHEN you can do it. E.g., some bosses only spawn at a specific hour on a week. You also need to do daily chores, and if you miss out on them you feel bad. -Not much to do There is just not much to do in the game, really. To go from lvl 56 to 60, I had to run, I don't know, 30 Leoric runs (and not something else, because Leoric had the weekly bonus extra drops). Rifts have been through the un-funinator machine. They **** in Immortal. Weekly boss raids are painful and take hours, as people just keep missing mechanics. Enjoy wiping dozens of times, because people just can't learn simple mechanics. Imagine heroic WoW raid difficulty with LFR people. -Awful cash shop Let us ignore the P2W aspect of the cash shop for a moment. If we do, we get a pretty much empty, boring cash shop with 3-4 not so good looking skins for your character and nothing worth mentioning. -Awful questing experience Most of the time you spent questing will be on quests like: "Reach lvl 56", "Reach lvl 60". Yes, "level up 4 times" are actual quests in the game. In 2022. The quests are boring, the story is meh, characters are completely forgettable. -The world is TINY If you are claustrophobic then do not even install this game. This is super tiny for an MMO, and super tiny for even a Diablo / ARPG game. There is not much distinction between zones either. -Monster diversity should be higher There are 38 types of "common enemies" in the game. Diablo 1 had 48 + its many colored variants, so close to a hundred. I would expect more from an MMO / ARPG released in 2022. 5000 characters

GW2 is one of those buy once, play whenever MMOs. Which would be nice, except, if you only buy the base game you are terribly limited, but at least you can figure out whether you want to spend more money on this garbage. If you want all the classes, the minimum amount of character slots, all the playable territories at least a small amount of Quality of Life features, then you'll need to spend over 200 EUR on the game, and then you didn't spend any of lootboxes, cosmetics, gold, or other items. That's just the bare minimum you should spend, if you want to play this game "seriously". Yes, you can buy gold. You can choose to grind days for a legendary item, or... You can deliver pizzas IRL for a few hours and spend some EUR to buy said legendary item. You can spend money in the game, so you have to play the game less! And you should. As the economy is, and always was, and will be, in complete shambles. Meaning, that 99.9% of all items are sold for vendor price on the auction house. Professions are really boring, and besides their forced and stale "legendary and ascended item crafting" "feature" there is nothing interesting about them. Items in general are ridiculously bland and dumb. There is almost no gear progression. Once you hit lvl80 (and you should not grind 1-80, just pay around 30 EUR for a lvl80 boost!) you can buy the second best gear for only a few gold. After that you may get a legendary or ascended gear, which is only a few percent stronger than the starting gear. In other words: LOOT IS MEANINGLESS in this game, as you'll never ever find equipment that is an upgrade for you. The world might seem big, but - and I am NOT exaggerating - they are pretty much the same area copy pasted on each other with the same textures and layout. Almost all areas contain the exact same mobs, doing the exact same thing (mostly nothing, really). The developers have less creativity than a 3 year old. The game is ugly, even for a 9 year old MMO. If you spend some money on the cash shop you can look alright, and some boss monsters look nice, but generally the whole world and the enemies your fight and the loot you wear is U-G-L-Y. The game is not new player friendly AT ALL. If you start to play this game then for the first hundred or so hours will be spent googling and reading wikis, as the game doesn't teach you anything at all. Classes are really boring and badly designed except for a small handful of specs. Abilities are pathetic and you only have a tiny few of them. There is no balance either. Everyone, even PvPers agree that PvP is one of the worst in all MMOs. The game mode is pretty much abandoned by the devs and also by the players - population is really, really stow. There are bots, afkers, win traders in almost all games. The meta is stale, and the class imbalance is nowhere close this big in other MMOs. The matchmaker mixes together everyone from all rank brackets. PvP has a big brother called Realm vs Realm. Think Alterac Valley just bigger and dumber and abandoned by the devs. The reward loops are super awful in the game. If you are looking for some of the MMORPG looops, GW2 has almost none of them. The game incentivises one player having multiple accounts. The community is quite anti-social and autistic. The developers don't care, they never did, and never had any talent to make MMORPGs. Two things are nice in this game: Fractals (a sort of PvE dungeons) Music -> The composer, Jeremy Soule was metood from the company, so you will not hear from him again.

Shadowlands is the next disgusting disappointment from Blizzard. If you hated BFA, you'll hate this even more. Firstly, all the content is time gated and weekly capped. Did you take a week vacation from work to play the new expansion? Well, too bad. Leveling up 50-60 takes 6-10 hours even if you idled by and petted at the squirrels. Spend a few more hours on the mandatory campaign quests and whatnot, and at the start of the first day you will literally have nothing to do. I don't mean to exaggerate. You literally can't do anything that has any reward you would find useful. Once you clear the mythic dungeons (pugged it easily in ilvl120 gear), torghast and the daily covenant quests and maw quests you are looking forward to maybe 20-30 hours of gameplay on the first week, and on the following weeks you'll have about 10 hours of gameplay per week outside raiding. Okay, quantity is pathetic, as everything is time-gated and capped. How about the quality? I'm sorry to say that the quality of the game is even worse than for BFA. Everything is just unimaginative and boring: Dungeons: Only 8 really small dungeons with ridiculously dumb mechanics, layout, mobs, bosses. Deadmines is more complex, and many times larger than any dungeon in the expansion. This will not be fun in Mythic+. Then again... Why would you run dungeons? It's a waste of time. You need to do 1x +15 Mythic+ dungeon per week, which takes about 20 minutes, and you are done with all the 5man content for the week. The itemization is so bad, the rewards are so pathetic that anything more is pointless. Torghast: Oh wow, our cool new dungeon crawler roguelite, right? While the somewhat lackluster and mostly unimaginative abilities unique to this mode are fun for a while, I'm afraid this too is timegated, and the rewards are horrible. Blizzard promised us a randomized dungeon that's always different! No. It's pretty much the same run over and over again, enemies and anima powers are just randomly placed, but it gets old after a few runs, especially how the rewards are nonexistent. Once you make your legendary, you won't step into this place ever again. Maw: This is the most annoying place to grace the game for many, many years. Firstly, your presence here is again, unrewarding, and meaningless. But to add insult to injury, there is a daily cap to how much Stygia you may collect, and it is done in such a dumb and frustrating way too! Every action you take give you a certain amount of naughty points. Once it reached a level, the game will kill you and you no longer can gain Stygia. Classes: While the classes are certainly improved over BFA, most of them are still boring, clunky, unimaginative, unbalanced, not fun. Legendaries: Almost all legendaries are useless noobtraps you should never touch. The ones that you need to craft are mostly boring and unimaginative. Covenants: The system is sadly closely tied to how effective you will be in the game due to the various buffs and abilities you derive from it. Let's say you are class X. You need to pick Covenant Y, otherwise you are just garbage. Wait, wait a minute. That's only if you are tank spec... Damn it, if you want to DPS for some reason you are useless... Wait... Wait... it turns out that you need different covenant for tanking if you are tanking Mythic+ and another one if you are tanking raids... Wait, wait WAIT! Every greatly patch adjusts the strength of the covnents. **** you are screwed! The world: Is small. Most of the map you see is outside the map boundaries. The map you can set foot in is mostly empty. So take a look at the map, and maybe less than half of it is meaningful. Also, the game is designed in a way that you waste a LOT of time traveling. Blizzard thinks running on your mount is precious and fun content you are happy to pay for. The flight masters are also placed in a dumb way that you would rather run than fly. The story: While the story had some good points, most of it is boring, short, unimaginative, and is told in a really bad way. Now some positive points: The art team did a decent job. The music and the world is aesthetic, except for Maldraxxus, the second area, which is objectively ugly and awfully designed. And that's all the nice stuff I had to say about Shadowlands.

The game has been out for years. Virtually everyone who plays it and wants to like it decides not to play it after a short while. Why? Mostly because of the absolutely pathetic matchmaking and ranking system. What's bad about the game will never improve. The WHOLE community is very vocal and unanimous about those things. And what's good about the game will never outshine the bad features of the game. Save yourself from hours of frustration, and play Dota/Lol/whatever. Don't waste time on this steaming pile of crap.

Let's start with the positive stuff. The gameplay of Overwatch is great. The maps, the heroes, the models, the abilities all play really fine. The world is rather mysterious, but thanks to the cinematic shorts, comics and other posts, it's actually quite cool for a Shooter. I want to love this game really, really hard. But I can't. First of all, the matchmaking! Blizzard is notorious for their incompetent matchmakers. Heroes of the Storm was a huge failure because of it, despite HOTS having pretty damn awesome gameplay and design, the cancer that was matchmaking proved to be fatal to the game. One would think that the company learned from its mistakes. Nope. The game throws everyone together. Seasoned, highly skilled tryhards who are in it for the win and teamplay, and useless, noobcake newbies who will pick a 3rd sniper to cement your team's failuire. The teams are rarely ever balanced. One team usually stomps the other. Virtually every single game is full of frustration and stress. I tried to cling onto hope so hard that I gave the game more than 50 hours played hoping that the matchmaking will get a bit better, but nope, it didn't. To make things worse, there is no ranked play. Why would any developer release a competitive team based game without ranked play? That's the point of the whole game. It's like, selling a car without a motor: "Here's your car, we don't have your motor yet, but in the meantime you can sit in it, or you can pretend to dive it!" Did I mention high latency? In most online games I have 20-25 ms ping. In overwatch the lowest I've seen is 40-45, but it usually is 60-70. The server communicates with the clients 20.8 times per second. So, everything you do in the game happens on that other guy's monitor about 0,1 seconds later. That's a lifetime in a fast paced FPS shooter! You will get shot by snipers and everybody all the time despite the fact that you were already in cover on your machine. It's a joke. I played plenty of multiplayer FPS games in my life. I used to be a Quake1 player, touched Q3, Quake Live, the COD and Battlefield series, the UT series and so on, but those games were FUN. Overwatch has a much better gameplay, but the matchmaking nullifies every bit of that so hard that I have to arrive to the conclusion: I never had such an awful online experience in my life.

If you want a game with 0 story, an awful, empty world, ugly, unimaginative monsters, server side disconnects every 30 minutes that require you to restart the client and log in again, a game where botting is a FEATURE, where the content literally IS grinding the same mobs over and over by the tens of thousands, where your inventory is tailored to be extremely tiny in order to make you buy inventory extensions from the cash shop, then BDO is for you.
