October 2017 Okay, unfortunately, after a year and nine months after first playing the game and not ever wanting to touch it again because it was so damn hard, I decided to give it another try. For some reason, a week ago, I felt that I should give Bloodborne another try and the challenge might slowly appeal to me and I can also use it to kill time. WOAH was I right, I don't know why I didn't give it another shot a year ago but now I am loving it and now understand why it is up there with the The Witcher, which is still my favorite RPG for the PS4. My initial rating was a 4, but I'm bumping that up to an 8. Why not 9 and 10? Well, I just find it annoying to continuously kill the same enemies over and over. I mean the game is hard enough and I am also learning that the "map" is huge (good thing). January 15, 2016. What I'm I missing here? I know people are saying you have to be patient and learn from your enemies, environment blah blah, but isn't that time consuming/boring? I mean killing those freaks is so tempting and I do want to use my badass weapons right? I really want to like this game because it was a Christmas gift, but during the 1st 2 hours of playing and having to kill the same bad guys over again after dying or progress to a certain part then die then have to replay the whole thing again from the same checkpoint which i passed 30 minutes ago.....that was very frustrating for me and had to change up and continue playing MG:PP, which of course calmed my nerves and made me feel happy again. Gosh, how about if I had to go somewhere right away and had to end my game? Let me guess, "too bad start at the same checkpoint". Anyone who rated this game 7 or higher felt this?? Great advice to help me continue the game is much appreciated. Thank you!

1-24-2016 Review--One of the best games I've ever played. I believe I'm still in the beginning stages of this game even though I put maybe 30+ hours into it already doing side missions until I'm satisfied then take on 1-2 main missions. Let's just say I wished that there was more time during the day to play the game. This is what I call a great RPG: story, action, character building. The reason I rated it a 9 is because I have minor issues with the combat mechanics and it is difficult to quickly earn money, but that's no biggie. At least I can save whenever and wherever I want unlike Bloodbored...hahaha. 02-04-16 UPDATE-- Whyyyy?! Whyyyy?! Why does this game have to be so good and take up my free time?!! Why?!! Side note- I am struggling with organizing my inventory to prevent being overburdened, but it does add to the great experience. Time to learn more about organization and prioritization people. It's like what Elsa said, sometimes and for some good items, you have to just let it gooo! let it gooo! THANK YOU!

Awesome game! Land and sea battles are epic. If you are a fan of the series, this is definitely a must buy. Graphics were improved compared to previous consoles.

Great game! Similar combat mechanics compared to the others. Love the new stuff and the side missions with the batmobile. Everything was pretty smooth for me.

This is a great game. A lot to keep the player involved: Mission list, side ops list, base development, weapon development, etc. I'm a first time Metal Gear game player so excuse me if I sound too excited. I have only 2 cons for this game: 1) I wished I was going up against a more factual or realistic enemy and 2) I wish I could do more in the mother base rather than running around and upgrading it. I don't mind more cutscenes too, but it's fine. Overall very good game.

A really late review, but wanted to get my reviews for games I tried this year up. Longer cut scenes that I'm used to, but the gameplay was alright. Story was a little hazy maybe because its a beginning to a series, but it had enough action to keep me entertained.

Okay, give it a low score when it comes to being relevant to the game title, but putting the title aside, I liked the gameplay. It offline campaign is a little short too.

Played this for only 3 hours and returned it the next day. I agree with the low scores. RENT FIRST, trust me. I do want to mention that as you progress in the beginning part, there is an area that has giant armoured knights-ridiculously hard to beat especially when they throw something hard at you that early without giving you a chance to upgrade or find better weapons and armor. Fail.

Pro: Massacre. Grow your resources, money, and army. Con: NO SPLITSCREEN/2 Player- This was a big NO NO. Huge let down, I rented it assuming it was 2 player bcuz the others did and ended up being disappointed not able to play with my son. Can't choose different soliders for different battles. COMMON! This crap for PS4? Really? That's why I rent before I buy no matter how good a game's rep is.

Fighting mechanics is kool, environment is okay, and enemies are okay; thus, the 6 rating. Same view about the game in regards to "go there, kill then go there and kill". I would have loved this game if there was no enemy respawn. Instead, give the player the benefit of conquering the whole map. Would have really like to conquer a section and then after that, human/elf/and dwarf allies would settle there, but no, you kill then they come back to get killed again. You end up using stealth wherever you go if you don't want to fight forever. Yes, the # of missions ****. The upgrades are okay, but require multiple button smashing and timing. Story is hardly there unless you want to get all the collectibles and see if they are relevant to the story. Only watched the Lord of the Rings trilogy (not the Hobbit ones cause I am not interested in those) and don't see a strong connection.

Didn't really play the game, but what I do know is that having a great character is 40% of the battle in my opinion. 30% goes to graphics/environment and 30% story (especially making the ending make sense). Lords of the Fallen is similar to Diablo III, but the offense is SLOW, the villains are fast, the environment is narrow, and it just does not grab you fast enough.

Good game! You might get side swiped with the changing environments, which is no biggy but keeps the mystery going. The action is there, the horror and suspense is THERE, and it is CHALLENGING-who doesn't love that? Caution, play with lights on or you would be looking over your shoulder every few minutes.

Love hide and seek when you were a kid? I loved it and still play it with my son. This game is well done. The action is not much, but the stealth and suspense/horror I believe makes up for it. Enjoy this and the Evil Within as much as you can cause we probably won't play good horror games like this for a while.

This game must have been made by someone who slept throughout or never kept up with graphic/design changes since the PS1. Took out the cd after playing for 15 minutes. Thank God it was a rental.

Great game! It does give you a sense that the main characters are in survival mode-infected, hunters looking for survivors, limited ammo and resources for crafting, and most especially a suspenseful storyline. The detailed environment adds to it with images that leave you feeling a tiny sense of frustration/shock/horror. Haven't beaten it yet but as you can see or read, it's impressed me.

Just did a rental and did not finish the game, but experienced weird situations where you think you killed all enemies in an area then suddenly one just appears and finds a dead body. Very frustrating and just killed my interest to go on.
