Phoenix Point10
Dec 17, 2019
It's a great game in the tradition of the old and venerable XCom (not the recent games, but the old ones from the 90s), made by the creator of that games. Its true it is made with a low budget and it shows in sound that could have been better, between scenes graphics of variable quality and some small details like that. But the problems are all in these non-essential issues. The core of the game, the playability, the game itself, is great. Its well thought and implemented. No clicking wrong soldier or place (unless you *really* mess it), easy to understand interface. The game itself isn't easy to master and that's a great thing, you have to think, learn, play to get the hang of it. I'm currently on my third play and already seeing I made something wrong, but still can't say precisely what. So lets go on and discover! One point I complain a bit about is that we could have sceneries related to the places in the world where they are. Or more variation at least. This limitation was an aspect of the original games but by then we had games on 3 1/4 disquettes, now we have much more freedom so this could have been addressed. Another thing I'm asking myself, will it be possible to customize things around? I mean, at least the cosmetic part? I would love to be able to recreate my team of Hollywood actors as soldiers like I did on the original XCom games! (: By then we only had the photos of faces and names to change, now it would be much more complex, but... All in all, I'm loving to play this game. I like a lot the new XCom, played 1 and 2 to the end many times vamilla and customized, but Phoenix Point is like returning to the *real* thing. Can't wait to see the DLCs!

XCOM 2: War of the Chosen10
Nov 26, 2017
When I played XCom 2 I was worried at how modders could change enough the game to make it worth playing again (and having surprises and not knowing what would come ahead). Was expecting something like Long Run was for XCom 1. But then the makers came with this addon that seems almost like another game (some are calling it XCom 2.5) with the introduction of a few very well thought elements. The Choosen are great! The missions are way improved, it is a new game. I only was a bit disappointed with the last mission, its too much like the first one. But hey, they have to save some ideas for XCom 3!

XCOM 210
Nov 26, 2017
Being a veteran XCom player, I still miss the complete freedom we had on the original games on choosing equipment for missions and details like limited munition and caring to not shoot your friends. So why I give the game a 10/10? Because it is perfect on what it proposes to be. It is moderately easy on easier difficult and amazingly difficult on the top ones, with the daring Ironman option (you cant save while on missions) turned on. I have a small complain in the graphics area. I like much better the graphics on the first modern XCom game, they are more realistic. But these on XCom 2 are more effective, things are more distinct and easy to see. The point is I liked the small amount of confusion the realistic graphics created. Sounds and voices are great. Interface is great. And there is a ton of mods to choose and change your game to your taste, like raising the limit of that dread time limited missions (but hey, try it the default way, you will have the thrill of your life! (: ) and virtually anything you can imagine. Cant wait for XCom 3!

Divinity: Original Sin II10
Nov 26, 2017
The best CRPG ever! While I started Original Sin a few times and it was boring and boring (before it gets better (: ), this second version is perfectly balanced. Its interesting from the first moment, you dont get alone in areas just breaking vases to collect items, something interesting is happening all the time. The story is entertaining, the people you find on the way are consistent, quests are good, your characters have a good variation to make the game fun to play again. Besides, the 'difficulty levels' also change a lot everything. Voice acting is great. Graphics are great (and this is more and more important for me), interface is great, easy to use, intuitive. A must for anyone who likes CRPG. And a great option for someone trying to enter CRPG world.

Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth - Rising Tide10

This add on makes the game better. I liked the first installment, even being clear that it was a work in progress. Nothing wrong with that, it was a base where to grow based on players feedback and mods. (But hey, it could have been a little cheaper because of that, right?) Great idea, a way to make the game lasts and be tuned by the ones who actually play it. Virtually everything on the game was upgraded. For better. The only thing I still miss is a clear indication of what developments will create Wonders. This was on the most popular mods for the first version, why wasnt added to the game?
