Unbelievable isn’t just a gripping story, it’s an incredibly compelling argument for why we need to take a frank look at the way victims of sexual assault are treated and how seriously we take them.

The performances from Colette, Wever, and Dever are uniformly excellent, with Dever equally parts devastating and subtle. Frankly the entire cast, and Macdonald in particular, does terrific work, but the series belongs to those three. ... Unbelievable is a series of such quiet power that its full impact may not come crashing down until after its conclusion.

well, I gave it the complete point because it totally deserves it. It's based on a true story so everything makes sense, no cliche, no I am the hero and the casting and playing the roles good enough made me cry like for hours in every episode. The storyline is not predictable. It was so catchy to point made me watch the whole series in just one night and once more the day after it. I recommend it to whoever searching for movie witch are the closest to real life because it was the real life. HOpe you agree with me.

this was sooo good. to be discredited after an assault is the most horrible thing and very well captured here. I just want to say that it is not limited to **** victims, the whole of society has the reflex of discrediting the victim in nearly every conflict. acting very well done, particularly Kaitlyn Dever and Toni Collette. Also, editing was very well done. The drama of the year as far as what I have seen.

Thanks to the strong writing and the finely calibrated performances by Wever and Collette, there’s nothing stale about the execution of the timeworn buddy-cop formula. ... This is a smart and knowing investigative procedural, a stylish but never exploitative true-crime story, an insightful character study — and one of the best series of the year.

Gripping eight-episode series. ... It’s about a string of serial rapes (triggers galore), yet the writing and execution are refreshingly empathetic toward victims, procedure and justice.

You can get past some inconsistencies and superfluous piety, though, on the sheer pull of the story and on the overall strength of the performances. Collette and Wever, two of the best actresses around, are great together.

This series has things it wants to say: That it says them plainly is a virtue, and allows us to see the story more clearly. As a document of trauma, overcome both through justice and through a hard-won fight to find self-worth, “Unbelievable” soars.

Unbelievable commits to shedding light on the shortcomings of law enforcement, from the mishandling of sexual violence cases to the prevalence of so-called “bad apples” within police forces. The series, however, addresses these systemic issues heavy-handedly and delivers its didacticism in stilted dialogue.

It is a great detective series with some drama parts. Plot is quite simple: There is a guy who has commited several crimes and he has a good knowledge of his work. But there is a victim, a girl, whose life was ruined after an accident, and it was interesting to watch how she lives after all that had happend. Strongly recommend to watch it.

Cinco por el esfuerzo, como docu está resultón. Pero como una pieza artística, deja mucho que desear.

I know this is based off of a true story, and I in no way want to minimize the trauma suffered by the victims and the work put in by law enforcement. I just want to convey my opinion on the re-telling and necessity of the Netflix version. Something about this series just didn't really connect with me. The show felt a little pretentious about the themes it was trying to portray. It also felt unrealistic and unnatural, particularly in reference to the police officers' portrayal. I also feel that there were no stakes, as the journey was kind of predictable. I didn't hate this series, I just kind of question how necessary it was to re-tell this story or at least why they told it in the way they did.

(Mauro Lanari)
Once **** is eliminated, would the world, the universe and the cosmos become a better place, with a lower rate of evil and violence? Who is so foolish to think that? The difference with the first season of "True Detective" is all here. News facts and the social complaints can only be of a lower rank compared to the existential approach, with respect to which they are reduced to mere chatter, feminine and otherwise.
