In a series already bursting with beautiful sentiments, the stunning world-building immeasurably enhances the experience, helping to make “Tuca and Bertie” stand out in the animation realm, the TV world, and beyond.

"Tuca & Bertie" smartly perks up the [Adult Swim] lineup, reminding us of the many ways that animation tells multi-dimensional stories that speak to everybody, not just the guys.

Another phenomenal season of Tuca & Bertie. The animation and style as always was exceptional. The writing this season was outstanding, once again doing a great job at depicting adulthood and perfectly blending humor with deeper adult subjects. The character development remarkable especially with Bertie and Tuca both when it came to them as individual characters and with their relationship. The acting was phenomenal especially from Ali Wong, Steven Yeun, Tiffany Haddish, Sasheer Zamata, Nicole Byer, Randall Park, Margaret Cho, Pamela Adlon, Natasha Rothwell, Maria Bamford, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Okieriete Onaodowan, Max Greenfield, and Christina Pickles. Also the music is superb. Another A+ season.

Tuca and Bertie really comes into its own in its second season and transition from Netflix to Adult Swim. The animation style is next level and the physical humor that springs from the animation style is absolutely hilarious. It also does a much better job of balancing its humor and drama, as well as making Tuca a much more likable character than the first season. I'm looking forward to what the show has in store for its planned season 3.

Tuca & Bertie remains a unique blend of exuberant surrealism, cut-to-the-bone psychology and thoroughly relatable camaraderie. ... The four episodes sent to critics are delightfully weird.

In its second season Tuca & Bertie is unafraid to get deep, and we’re all better for it.

Returning with something to prove, Tuca & Bertie makes it abundantly clear that this show deserved to live another day. The series addresses taboo topics but reminds us of how easy it can be to find humor in these dark moments.

Based on the first four of the 10 new episodes, Tuca & Bertie 2.0 is slightly less aggressive about getting laughs. It still qualifies as a comedy and certainly contains plenty of scenes and storylines that lean fully into the genre. But it also seems to be embracing its introspective side more openly.

A great deal of the show’s appeal, though, lies in that sometimes overreaching ambition, which insists on tackling the difficult topics that exist even within this vibrant and inscrutable universe. In that regard, the series remains genuine and insightful even when it doesn’t always quite succeed.

Absurd, hilarious, dark and touching. The second season Netflix couldn't kill and for good reason.
