In the second half of the season, though, the series veers off course a little. It feels as though the story could have been nicely paced into four episodes rather than six. It once again becomes a little tonally confusing, almost as though it's struggling to find its identity despite being two seasons deep.

This is peak post-peak TV, which means it’s ambitious, overwrought and yet somehow full of great actors. It then takes those great actors (almost all of whom seem to have been seconded from Game of Thrones – Iain Glen, Mark Addy, Owen Teale…) and has them spout total cod-scientific gobbledygook.

I Couldn't wait to see the second season of this show, and it was certainly worth the wait!Sheer escapism and great characters, old and new. I particularly like the one played by the very handsome (and talented!) Scottish actor'Ross Anderson' what a cool character!It's hard to believe this series was filmed entirely in 'Leith' **** 'Blue screen' filming is 'top class' and if anyone picks fault in this element of the series then they obviously must be a 'Hollywood' BIG budget film producer that have made successful movies themselves!OR perhaps (and probably more like it)'underachievers' that haven't done much themselves at all and just love to moan and gripe! When all most people are looking for is a bit of great entertainment from the small screen!Which 'The Rig' season 2 delivers in bucket loads!!Season '3' please!!!
