The Messengers is an appealing and entertaining cross between “Heroes” and “Supernatural” and has the potential to be just the hit The CW needs and viewers deserve.

With such a complicated subject matter, The Messengers certainly has its work cut out for it to stay coherent while still staying accessible. But the pilot moves briskly enough, keeping up the desire to learn how these people deal with their newfound powers and identities, and how they will react when The Man comes a-calling.

The pilot is a rough go, winging from one angel to the next, necessary perhaps to set the premise but a slog. Nobody from the cast makes much of an impression.

“I am confused about everything,” Peter tells his girlfriend before fleeing the scene of a bully smackdown. Sampling The Messengers, you may be too.

The Messengers seems far-fetched, even by [The CW's] standards.

It's a bit of a jumble and not particularly compelling.

As trite, overblown and obvious as the fundamental plot is, credible, nuanced backstories for the five angels would have elevated the entire show to a more watchable level. The performances are adequate without ever reaching exceptional levels.

I just started watching The Messengers and so far i am really impressed got to the third episode and i wanted to watch more as they learn more about their powers and why they were chosen

Why is it when we get a good show on, like this has to do with the devil, angels or magic people have a problem with it or the TV channel somehow lies about the ratings becuz it has something to do with god or the devil.. Or it looks like something real that could happen- this show needs more of a chance on the air than they got... Just like cancelled Constantine. An Jericho!!! I would really like to talk to the people who decides who gets the axe, becuz I'm tired of so many cop shows!!! Really!!

The CW, for the most part, has had a great season launching new shows. This is the exception. The pilot was murky, uninteresting, and very unclear. It was only by reading the plot synopsis that I realized this was some kind of religious mythology. The characters are flat and their mission is flatter.

This show fails to build any emotional connection between the audience and the characters.I made it through the entire season, but I just didn't care about anything that was happening. This show had potential, but the story just didn't pull me in.

This is a series that has totally failed to live up to the hype generated by the adverts we **** is poorly directed and has no mystery. The idea of the devil coming down to earth is the only positive the show has since it carries the promise of chaos in the future however the ridiculously slow and poor start is definitely going to chase all the fans away and can earn it a place on the ''worst TV show ever podium''. If things continue the way they are now this show will be sacked before the end of the season
