sarah paulson will forever be an iconic actress. the beauty, background and uniqueness of each character really brings this show to life. this show is very much ryan murphy but with a new, improved and refreshing script and set of characters. love, love, love this show.

If you love the movie: don't watch the show! The production design is great, the acting is decent... but I had to turn it off after the second episode. In the movie and book Nurse Ratched makes a great villain because in her mind she actually acts with good intent. She's evil because the system is evil. This show basically turns her into a psychopath. Either the showrunners didn't understand the original material or they just didn't care. So sad.

Complete and utter crap. Don't waste your time with this. Acting is horrendous. The story **** and is boring. The only thing that is halfway decent is the cinematography.

Nurse ratchet from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s nest is one of the most fascinating and terrifying villains in film and literary history. Being a tyrannical, control freak, she isn't above terrorizing and abusing her patients when feeling any lack of power, and the most terrifying part is just how common this was back then, and still is in certain institutions even now. Nurse Ratched wasn't some Unique monster in a lineup of good hearted, kind professional, she was just one piece of gear in a million, doing her small part to help the already abusive system continue running like clockwork, with her character originally used as a way for the author and filmmakers to examine the kind of cruel and mechanical like ways these hospitals were able to operate, allowing the workers to abuse there power and systematically operate on humans in such horrible and inhuman ways, sometimes genuinely convincing themselves that what they were doing was for the best of the patients. And that’s exactly what I hate about this show. It takes this incredibly rich and nuanced character who represents a much bigger problem in society, and it takes away all the intelligence an subtlety, and turns her into a cheap, schlocky, villain origin that completely betrays the intent of the original book and film.

Hate men? Don't require any kind of logical or realistic characters or storyline? Want a show that's based in the 40s and isn't even close to being realistic to the era? Then this show's for you! This dumpster fire will leave you laughing in the end assuming you're not too angry at yourself for wasting nearly 8 hours of your life.

It’s not the worst show out there by any means, but it’s also definitely not the best. While the visuals are striking and incredibly pleasing to look at, the protagonist herself is almost as two dimensional as it gets. Whatever decision she makes seems to strongly depend on the scene she’s in, causing her character to be highly unpredictable—but not in a suitable fashion to the show. The show is entertaining, though, and the concepts are there, which is why I did finish it, but the show is, I repeat, most definitely not the best.

The music and some of the cinematography are a great throwback to film noir or even Alfred Hitchcock. The story is exciting enough to keep you watching and its overall well acted. Recommend

Again Ryan Murphy has another series that is boring, with a big budget, over the top sets and not much else. His last two series "The Politician" and "Hollywood" did not impress. You can add "Ratched" to that list...boring and just a bad show.

Just another serie from Ryan Murphy, who lost his way long time ago, several AHS seasons ago. There's no a single remarkable character and the story it's absolutely boring. I was expecting a real shift from Mildred Ratched to get how she became a brilliant and unique character but this is not the place to look for it. Just awful
