Slow grind, very unthrilling for a thriller. Ok we can relate to the characters, they are human, but the main character holden ford has no charisma, very soft and bland. So it’s 99% psychological and 1% thriller, not what I was looking for. I think people are too skewed when it comes to dramas and in particular based on real events, hence the too good reviews.

I love everything on it : the story, the pace, the characters... MUST-WATCH

I wish certain things were more fleshed out as in season 1 Holden finding out that she cheated and seasons 2s ending is lackluster.

One of the best series I have ever watched, very little actual action but they make long, wordy interview scenes still entertaining. Great acting, setting, plot, development with really interesting characters and their presentation.

The first season is good, from start to finish. I had my concerns, due to Netflix countless woke movies made during the past years and these concerns materialized in the second season, where the narrative became weaker, racial tensions were brought up, and at some point, a detective spoke about 'systemic racism'.. come on, Netflix, you want to ruin this movie as well!?

Great show, but I love how they made the female professor gay just to tick off a diversity box when the actor who played Groff is actually gay. How do you keep thing's "straight" Hollywood, lol.

Absolutely criminal this didn't get a 3rd season.

It's been a long time since I've found a show so fascinating. It's well written acted and shot and I just cant stop watching. Excellent show that I think is going to age very well.

Deux agents du FBI enseignent la psychologie criminelle ou ce qui s’apparente à de la psychologie criminelle tout en cherchant de nouvelles méthodes d’interrogatoire et d’investigation et… de profilage, en compagnie d’une experte universitaire en la matière, une matière encore balbutiante dans ces années 70… Des années 70 qui ont vu (déjà) moult criminels commettre des crimes abjects et parmi eux bien évidemment, des psychopathes ! comprendre ces dégénérés peut bien sûr aider dans les enquêtes et partant, en arrêter d’autres… du moins, en théorie. Nos deux agents vont donc interroger des tarés ici et là, dans toutes les taules du pays mais en profitent aussi de temps en temps pour aider la police locale dans des affaires non résolues bien dégueulasses et sordides. L’ambiance est bien restituée et pour cause puisque la série est chapeautée par David Fincher qui a rassemblé ici des éléments (et des façons de faire) de ses deux précédents films dans le genre scabreux, à savoir Seven et Zodiac. Hélas, au bout de quelques épisodes, la routine s’installe et le fil conducteur s’avère trop ténu pour maintenir l’attention (et la tension) d’une part des tarés en zonzon, d’autre part des tarés suspectés d’avoir découpé, noyé, tabassé, mutilé, découpé etc telle ou telle victime… ou bien en passe de commettre telle ou telle atrocité. En effet, la répétition s’installe et on a surtout l’impression d’assister à un duo des inspecteurs Derrick et Columbo… (fussent-ils du FBI ou non, ça ne change rien à l’affaire). Par ailleurs, la série s’étale trop sur la vie privée de nos flics (et de la femme universitaire) avec par dessus le marché un agenda sous-jacent SJW et woke trop appuyé (et trop évident). De fait, on baille trop souvent aux corneilles malgré un nombre limité d’épisodes (19 sur deux saisons pour l’instant) ; la série loupe le coche et s’étire en longueurs inutiles malgré le soin de sa mise en scène et les comédiens qui font de leur mieux. Il faut dire aussi que sa lenteur générale n’aide pas non plus ! mon esprit s’est barré ailleurs…

Missed Fincher and definitely going to miss this one Long story short, I liked it a lot, not my favorite favorite, but among them, it could have been better but it was great anyway. Such a pity it didn't continued, the finale left me like Bill in the empty house, things were getting better and we were waiting for more stories, so much potential, so many paths they could have continued.. Hope is not lost of course! Well done David, well done to the actors and well done Netflix, more please!

Really enjoyed these tv series - thrilling and yet scary to know they are based on real events.

Somehow I've missed the show when it was released, and surprisingly It's an excellent series about criminal psychology based on real stories of criminals, detectives, and investigation challenges in 70's. Must to watch, especially when streaming platforms offer only forever never ended copycat series. Fincher is a mark of quality, looking forward to Season 3.

Maginifica serie. Gran desarrollo de protagonista (Holden en la primera temporada y bill en la segunda). Decisiones narrativas muy interesantes como poner el peso de la obra en el diálogo. Tal vez se descuida un poco a Holden y a Wendy en la segunda temporada.

The show is a brilliant selection of excerpts from John Douglas's book of the same title. The killers whom the Holden Ford character (based on Douglas himself) interviews are outstanding, and there's a full narrative of the Atlanta child murders in season 2. What a shame this series is apparently not going forward after season 2; there is so much more rich material that can be covered by Douglas's first book alone. I'm puzzled by the director's complaint that the project was far too exhausting. I don't see why, exactly. There's no fancy stunts or Hitchcock-like cinematography or CGI effects, and the scripts should write themselves--they're right out of Douglas's book. Why was there such a big problem with getting scripts done? Very disappointed that this may be all; the show has great future potential.

Really liked the premise of this show, but sadly, and as usual these times, they destroy it with woke politics that really takes you out of the suspension and story. If you can stand moments of woke propaganda in between some seriously interesting and captivating moments of TV show then this is for you.

Unbelievable, must must watch, everyone is great, no weak link....great writing and acting, **** one over acts, it seems so natural you forget you are watching a movie. Genuine acting and cast. I do think Netflix does a badge job promoting these series. I never knew about this series till now 2020. And I heard they had to stop the series due to budgeting!! It still had so much story telling, we never get to see BTK and how they catch him. Netflix needs to bring this back, bring back the actors and finish ****’s too good

Mindhunter has that appeal to anyone watching to just keep on watching. It hooks the audience in immediately with the first episode and the ongoing episodes make me wish there would be more episodes. Hopefully, David Fincher will renew for a third season due to the anticipation by many of the audience. The actors playing serial killers like Edmund Kemper and Jerry Brudos do an exceptional job at making the audience uncomfortable, and yet intrigued and the rest of the cast, led by Jonathan Groff (Holden Ford) progress the storylines so wonderfully.

The first season is a masterpiece. Realistic, hard and with a constant tension. Obscure but more close to a drama than a horror flick. It is like more like Zodiac story, but with the main characters from Se7en. One important thing: Season 2 is a piece of garbage. I don’t know what happened but they ruined it. If you still don’t watch, season 1 worth it.

This show continues to amaze in season 2. Blown away by it's ability to get under my skin. David Fincher is fascinating in how he portrays scenes and reveals information. My only issue with it is I felt most of the arcs were quite unfinished at the end of this season. Could be solved with more seasons though. Still one of the best shows to watch right now. Go watch so we get more seasons.

Mindhunter has that Fincher feeling, that makes him one of my favorite directors. Mindhunters has the same as Seven. Also a big shout out to Tobias Lindhom (a fellow dane) who directed two episodes. Actors does a brilliant job and the supporting cast are awesome. The serial killers are protrayed in a very believeable way, and both Kemter and Brudos are truly frightening. There is not much actions, and most episodes is just people talking, but its so good.

Vibe of this TV series is something that draws me to it. This is just great entertainment with great plot, direction and characters.

Mindhunter is a good tv series to show the beginning of criminal psychology at the FBI, before this, there was no study of the mind of the criminals. The show is based on the late 1970s, when two FBI agents meet with murderers and serial rapists jailed to develop psychological profiles, to understand the crimes and help to avoid new ones.

Great characters! Suspenseful. Binge-worthy, edge-of-your-seat entertainment. Can't wait to see what will happen next!

Individually S1 would have an 8 S2 would get a 3, dramatic reduction in quality, fingers crossed for S3 - Great show for it's first season but 1 point removed for deviating from the real life counter part of one of the characters for the purpose of diversity tokenism and 2 points because the second season had me nodding off in my chair to get through a good portion.

Great show, it’s what I dreamed about as a high school student when I was thinking about going into the FBI.

I enjoyed this show very much due to the performances, overall camera work, script and especially by leaving out drama and intrigue. Here the various agencies are actually working together instead of having turf fights. I know there are always rivalries and tensions, but we are a social species that achieve success through cooperation, not because one brilliant man succeeds against all odds. This series seems to go down that route. Seems. I think the best performance is by Cameron Britton who plays Ed Kemper and gives him this amiable veneer but you feel like something is off, something is lurking underneath to come out. Both Groff McCallany are excellent, although the character Groff plays(Holden) feels often bland outside of the interrogation rooms. He does have an character arc in that he gets more cocky and self-assured towards the end which sets him up for a fall. In any event it is Holden who is the driving force and who sets the pace in this series. Tench is more the older wiser guy. A more conservative person. I especially want to praise the use of music. It is used not only to set the 70's mood, but at key moments it is used to underscore the significance of that moment, for instance when a suspect breaks and confesses. I also want give a thumbs up for the story. The series try to address and show all kinds of issues that the team have to face. Notably that their methods result in convictions which might cause convicts not to talk to them when it goes public. Their success becomes their undoing if not handled well. And at some moment this does go wrong through an act of indiscretion. Unfortunately there are also less part. Notable the character of Dr. Carr is just not handled well. She is the academic mind of the team, but you hardly see her do anything academic or contribute to the team. Instead her single role seems to be to look sourly and moan that Holden is unscientific and a threat to the mission. To slow him down. The worst part is the relation between Holden and his girlfriend Debbie. I cringed when they were together. From the start it is clear that their personalities do not match. They seem never to have any fun when together, even when having sex. It is like the way my daughters are sometimes: they are fed up with each other but know they have to live in the same house at least until they are grown up. And Holden and Debby they are like all the time. I ended up skipping their scenes together, alas they get to be more frequent and longer towards the end. Break up already. I think they do. The problem with Debby is that her role is probably meant as a kind of mirror for Holden, but they also wanted to make her become the romantic interest at the same time. Thus have two for the price of one. So she is there confront him with and ground him in the normal world on the one hand and be his love interest on the other hand. And it doesn't work. She is a book wurm who roams University hallways and frequents student parties. She has as little experience as him and lives in a total make-believe world of her own. And as said: they do not have any chemistry. What is needed is someone who can tell him what normal people think and give him insights that he might not have otherwise. But you could also totally invert expectations and give him an escort as girlfriend. Which would probably be the best character story wise. Maybe someone who flunked art school or drama. Or maybe actually did well but went for the easy money instead of her passion(see the contradiction with Holden). There is also the continued danger that the story is going down the well trodden road of that one guy who does it all while the rest just slow him down or hinder him. Overall I enjoyed this show, unfortunately, I just saw the first episode of season two. I am afraid it will descent into drama and intrigue.

Season 2 left me wanting more and that's the sign **** show. Serial killers interviewed this time around include some very heavy hitters: Charles Manson, Tex Watson, David Berkowitz/Son of Sam, Elmer Wayne Henley Jr (The Houston Mass Murders), Wayne Williams (Atlanta Child Murders), and Dennis Rader/BTK. Edmund Kemper is also back for a few brief scenes. I've said it before but I'll say it again. Cameron Briton deserves ALL the awards for his portrayal of the Co-Ed Killer. The personal life of Agent Bill Tench is revealed (and its almost as harrowing as his day job). We don't get to see much of Dr Wendy Carr. Let's hope there's a season 3. We need to see more of Dr Carr and for the rest of the BTK story. "Mindhunter" is too good to stop here.

An excellent thriller with profound character development and interesting insights into the psychology of serial killers.

I don't know why I like this show because honestly it provides nothing new to it's genre . But it's character building is essentially why it stands out to critics and me . It allows us to see that nothing is either good or bad but thinking makes it so (as Shakespeare said so eloquently). It's very obvious how it's main focus ,being human nature, directs it's direction.

Casting is great, Fincher as usual. Long conversation sometimes bored me to death but sometimes i felt quite opposite. Seeing famous psychopaths as such Charlie Manson was great. Bottomline can’t wait to see more episodes

This is a great series and different than most TV. There are some gruesome plots but none of the violence described is displayed...rather we are left with the psychological questions of why these deeds happened. The characters seem genuine and the time frame well depicted. Very engrossing...bring on season 2.
