An incredible western. I understand the desire for shows like this to be realistic, therefore be more violent, bloody and graphic. But that’s really my ONLY complaint about the show. I think it’s unnecessarily gory at times. But aside from that, it is truly a magnificent western. The characters are fantastic. They develop in a natural way and are given the time to develop through the series. The series has a powerful emotional impact. I hope they will make more quality westerns like this one.

It's a bit of a disjointed mess. And the final episode was just awful and terribly cut. But it does have some interesting characters and story arcs and I was mildly entertained by some of it. But overall it feels dull and I found it hard to stay interested.

Excellent limited series and one of the best shows of 2017. Some clever writing, sweeping cimematography, and great gunfights lead to one of the best western tv series ever made.

That was good. Very good production values, cinematography and writing. Could have packed little more punch at the end, but very good.

PC drivel, excruciatingly boring at times. The amount of acting talent wasted in this is unbelievable.

7 Hours achieved less than a movie could do in 2. This series spent too much time on melodrama and introducing characters (and corresponding plotlines), and didn't develop or conclude any of them...save the 'A' plot. Ultimately feels like an extra long cut of a mediocre film.

Dockery owns the gun with the most convincing stance just as her smile, Frank is a good choreographer. Godless Scott Frank, the creator, of this western drama has got style. Not the Clint Eastwood kind. There is no hat-tilting or tobacco-chewing or loud guns fired in a bar; I would say, this is another achievement of the series, since it never has any drunk bar fights, no matter how tempting. It has presumably the panache of being in some James Bond-ish film. The spy like figurines float about or ride about in this series and sexiness is what oozes from them. To be fair, it is also gorgeous to look at; despite of few cringe worthy images, lately it looks like, these artists are working aplenty in details, just for the authenticity. But the locations are easy on the eyes for sure. Also it grounds the field impeccably on screen. The live locations are pitched to us just as the ideas are, you don't need 3d glasses to feel like you are in it. Another advantage is how Frank is obsessed with stealing moments on one frame, that glorifies and celebrates this tale from all directions. Among many well spread out and three dimensional characters, Jeff Daniels ought to feel pretty with a juicy role like such. And it is not just the generosity and cruelty of his character- such opposite sides of the coin is displayed in all the other characters too- but the philosophy he has in his pocket. He enters the room and he owns it and he leaves the room with whistle-blowing smile-plastering magnetic one-liners, you ought to feel happy like a four year old boy. Scott Frank has had a fair share of his moments in Godless, but what I love about the most, is how smoothly he transitions time in narration. Those very elements that helps him drive safe home, were trailed right in front of you, that went unnoticed by.

Absolutely incredible show. The cinematography, writing, acting (for the most part) and production quality are just fantastic. It's amazing to me that web shows are now of such quality. I enjoyed it more than pretty much any movie in recent years (except for Hereditary, Annihilation, and Mandy, the holy trinity of 2018) Highly recommend it. It fully launched my interest in westerns

Very good, one of the best tv show of 2017. Good mix of Gunfights, drama, romance. Watching a Western show with the majority of protagonists being female is also unconventional , in a good way. Highly reccomended.
