I have spent 150 hours with this game, I can confidently say that this is one of my favorite From Software games alongside the Wlden Ring base game. I know this was a smaller more experimental project for the company, but man what gem it actually turned out to be. I love it, and the more I have played it, the more I like it. I hope that they both continue to support Nightreign as well as iterate off of everything they learned from making such a creative and unique feeling game.

Absolute masterpiece ****. Sure there are some things that could be improved, but all in all, it is just such a fun and well made game. I wish that From Software would continue to make content for this game and support for many more years to come. It is worth it!

This game is incredible! It is more than a video game, it is a profound achievement and a work of art. I wish more games would be built around world mythologies and feature cultures from other parts of the world. This game will be remembered as one of the great games of the decade.

This is a gem ****, I wish there were dozens more like it. This is the type of game I am regularly searching for to play alongside my kids. It takes heavy inspiration from 2D Zelda games which in my opinion is a good thing. The fact that it takes all the charm, character, puzzles, fun combat etc of a Zelda game, but then allows you to play with four players is just incredible! I have not played this game alone, but it shines as one of the best multiplayer experiences I have had. So much fun! If you enjoy couch coop games then please try it! And also check out our all time favorite multiplayer game - Towerfall! Both games have such charm, and care put into them. They are timeless and I’m so glad we discovered them.

Phenomenal expansion. The level design has even topped that of the base game. This is a true masterpiece in every way!

I absolutely love this game. Though it is very simple, it is an incredibly fun and challenging experience. Charming graphics and progression. This is a hidden gem, and well worth your time if you enjoy retro looking games and challenging experiences.

Fantastic indie game. Such a well crafted world, beautifully thought out. While the combat is simple, it is also excellent. Very tight, and surprisingly difficult, which I love. So glad I did not pass on this title. Definitely recommend to anyone on the fence.

I dislike this game so much. I was really intrigued by this games art style. I bought it on a whim, thinking I would enjoy the atmosphere. The trailer reminded me of games like Inside and Limbo. But this game lacks both the polish and charm of either of those titles. This game feels clunky and rushed. The frame-rate is terrible, making the otherwise interesting art style difficult to look at, as the animations feel blurry. The controls and movement of the character also feel cumbersome and unnatural. And the atmosphere of the game is (the reason I bought it) fails entirely. You are forced to listen to a radio broadcast as you play through the levels, the music is off putting, and does not feel like it belongs in the game. I was hoping to have a short, tight, well crafted indie game experience, but instead I’m left simply wishing I hadn’t wasted my money.

Absolutely incredible game. Played this with my daughter. It has a gorgeous pixel art direction. Fantastic story and atmosphere. Also nails the balance of difficulty and fun. While combat is basic, it’s also very rewarding. Love this game. Can’t recommend it enough as a roguelike to enjoy with a family member.

A fantastic Souls-like. The combat is difficult, but silky smooth and highly polished. Best soups like I have played to date, only From Software has done better. I truly hope this studio makes additional souls like games. This is a truly special game from lore, characters to gameplay. Would definitely recommend to any fan of souls games!

A true masterpiece, every bit as good as the first game. In fact it’s much better than Breath of the Wild. This game lives up to all the high expectations people had for it.

Beautifully made game. This was my first experience with a Souls game, and I have to say, it converted me. I am now working my way through the Dark Souls trilogy and plan to play the remainder of From Software games. I believe they accomplished what they set out to do in remaking this game - introduce this PlayStation classic to players who may have missed it, or reintroduce it to those who played it years ago. I thoroughly enjoyed this game and appreciated how much respect and care Bluepoint put into the remake. Truly wonderful game.

I came to this game late, but it is truly a masterpiece. I’m so glad I decided to go back and play it, even in 2021. This game is timeless, and plays so well even many years after its creation. While some complain about the difficulty of Dark Souls, It is truly worth the effort to play and experience the game. Don’t miss it.
