If anything, the new version feels more representative of what Euphoria’s tongue-in-cheek title was always meant to convey. The state of euphoria was something the characters were perpetually chasing, but never managed to attain. Out of all the seasons, this latest one feels truest to that cruel irony.

After watching the first three episodes of Euphoria Season 3, it’s unclear whether there’s hope for Rue and her friends, but there’s definitely a chance this polarizing HBO show might end its run on an incandescent high note.

Euphoria is still bold, still daring, still lavish in its production. But it’s also still in search of a point to make. Its legacy after this final season depends on its ability to find one.

Season 3 of "Euphoria" is at its best as a pulpy, cartoonish approximation of the way early adulthood is an endless maze of coveting the seemingly enviable lives of your peers, unable to see through the strained charades they perform. .... But where the show used to seem too mature and provocative for a soap opera about teenagers, it now feels much too childish for a crime drama about adults. Time will tell if Levinson is able to strike a better balance with the remaining episodes, but from what we've seen so far, it doesn't feel particularly likely.

“Euphoria” always skewed nihilistic, so none of these ideas are out of place in what may be its last season. But Levinson’s series was never this spiritually hollow.

By the third episode of eight, even Rue can’t quite make you care about this sorry group of amoral ghouls, who seem to loathe themselves as much as each other.

Just like Rue’s transformation into an AR-15 salesperson, so much of this early phase of Euphoria’s return feels completely airless.

Not sure why it's getting all the hate after only 1 episode. Sure the scenes with Sydney Sweeny may not be for everyone, but have you seen onlyfans? There is quite a lot of content like the ones featured in the early episodes on there. Considering how many students use that site to make money, it's not unrealistic to have that in the show. Sure the tension has changed in the show, but it has been 3-4 years since season 2, but I think it would be boring if it was just more of the same.

This wasn't made for me , I've accepted that since I accidentally started watching season 1 years ago. If you're a conservative or right wing , then this is the quintessential Uber woke and **** crazy liberal stuff you'd hate. But it's always been so over the top that it becomes somewhat interesting. And quite entertaining. And if you'd never taken it too serious to start with , the fun is still there. And well.. Zendaya , Sydney. Very nice ey. There's at least some honest views on modern crazy life here and there as well.

While maintaining the surrealist meanderings of the modern American society, I knew this season wasn't being serious, when it cuts from a scene with a young rich couple in a big lavish beg, cuddling, to a pimped out drug mule girl getting ravaged. Granted it's the first 2 episodes, but the first 3 episodes should give you an idea what the show will bring. To it's credit, there are hints of dark and eerie underbellies of American life, to which it proclaims a sort of separate societies, providing alternative services, like a mafia, and I do appreciate the realistic portrayal of what modern social media/ pop culture has become. However, that's about all I see, which is more of the contrasting between the two, like a slice of life - American version. The first 2 seasons had the structure and the plot of a realistic high school drama, but from what I see so far in the 3rd season, there seems to be none. I hope something develops later on, though I'm skeptical. I don't dislike it exactly, but from a critical point of view, it just seems more chaotic. It's great as a critique on American society and capitalism, so from that lens, it kind of works out great! On the other hand, in terms of story, there's a lot left to be desired, because everyone seems to be living their separate lives, with Rue tying them all together. However, I think the focus should mainly be on Rue, unless all of the characters' plots converge at some point. Fingers crossed, and will update after the season ends

The third season of Euphoria feels like a hollow shell of its former self, but the most glaring issue is Sydney Sweeney’s performance. While she was the breakout star of previous chapters, her portrayal of Cassie Howard this season has devolved into a caricature of emotional instability.

Misogynistic and out of context overall, shot for the male gaze, Levinson really strives for desperate attention in an unfortunate attempt of provoking the masses. This show feels like The Idol with Euphoria characters. Disappointing
