Despite garnering plenty of critical acclaim Cheers suffered with low ratings throughout it’s first season. Fortunately NBC took the decision to renew the show anyway, and following success at the Emmy Awards it soon found the audience it deserved. The ongoing Sam/Diane romance is the focal point of the season, and while some seem to have found it a little frustrating there is no denying that Shelley Long and Ted Danson had great on screen chemistry. The supporting cast, which must rank amongst the best found in any sit-com, also provide plenty of laughs of their own and there really isn’t a bad episode to be found here...
