A very good show while at parts didn't quite live up to my very high expectations for it does not mean it wasn't stunning and beautifully written. In my opinion season 1 was better than season 2.

Animation is really fascinating. Voice acting is really good, which does a lot of that heavy lifting. The soundtracks, however they're good, they don't feel original at all. Character arcs are messy, illogical, chaotic, bad-written, and incomplete. Character development is a joke for the developers as long as they justify everything by "Jinx is crazy you can't understand her". World building is loveable yet has a lot of plot holes. Story is... just not there. Action scenes, however they're good, but much weaker than the first season, forgettable, and in some scenes (like the last battle) it seems the budget was bleeding. As a adaptation, it isn't that bad. As a series, it is a trash yet I can't find a reason someone call it a nightmare. Think about it as a very expensive and beautiful cake which tastes awful, or a luxurious super car which driving with is a nightmare. Value your taste and watch some good series instead of following the hype.

Lingers too much on emotions and is depressing on an overall level. The plot is not worth the emotional investment. Development is too slow and had to speed up most episodes. Waited for 4 episodes for someone to actually do something useful.

Greetings from Lithuania. "Arcane: League of Legends" (2021) was an amazing series to watch. I haven't played the game but I highly enjoyed the animated series. Animation itself was gorgeous, sound design, voice acting, writing and directing are all top notch. I liked the first season more because the story was more interesting. Second season had more action but was a bit to much confusing for me. Still, the ending was near perfect and finale was outstanding. Overall, "Arcane" is amazing series. It doesn't matter if one hasn't played the game as this show is so good you'll definitely need to see it at least once.

Both seasons of this show feature excellent characterisation, amazing character and story concepts, an incredibly detailed dark fantasy world, excellent vocal performances and absolutely gorgeous animation, from background to action scenes and everything in between. The first season of this show combines all of these into a tragic story that is near to perfection, with every event until and including the season finale making perfect sense for the characters and world and carrying with it several compelling themes and multiple excellent characters. It explores legitimate social issues with a rare lens of realism that lets it stand out among so many other stories. The second season of this show continues forward with excellent concepts, but majorly falls flat by comparison. By the end, it feels detached from the grim realism and genuine social issues of the first season and moves instead to mostly philosophical themes, which are interesting and mostly executed in a compelling way, but which do not satisfyingly continue the first season. The same can be said of the characters, who change drastically very quickly both between seasons and within the second season. The second season tells a great story and has an excellent groundwork of world and characters to build from, but ultimately squishes the first season's characters and themes under a giant magical boot in search of an easier and more sanitised narrative. On the whole, the series is extremely worth watching. The first season is a 10/10. For me, as a follow up to the first season, the second season is a 3/10, butchering something truly special for a story that is still good but is so far removed from the boldness of the first season, but as a show by itself would be an 8/10. I would highly recommend Arcane to literally anyone. Furthermore, anyone who isn't bothered about thinking critically about shows like this will probably enjoy the second season a lot more than I did. Also, no, I don't know anything about or ever have any desire to interact with League of Legends. It has no bearing on the enjoyment of the show, though apparently it helps to explain some events in the second season.

Vi muitas pessoas criticarem que a segunda temporada foi muito corrida e que não desenvolveu muito bem certos conflitos. Na minha opinião, ambas as temporadas são bem corridas, com muitas coisas acontecendo ao mesmo tempo. Dito isso, gostei da forma como tudo foi resolvido, a série é muito boa, a arte é simplesmente impecável. Não gostei muito de como retrataram a Caitlyn em certas situações. Entendo que não é uma cópia idêntica do jogo, mas também preciso dizer que muitas decisões questionáveis que ela tomou não seriam tomadas pela personagem dela. Parece que a série propositalmente fez isso com ela, e quando ofereceu a resolução do conflito, a "redenção" dela, pareceu muito fraco ao meu modo de ver. O resultado foi que a maioria das pessoas simplesmente tratou ela como vilã e uma certa outra personagem como "heroína", sendo que essa série é muito mais sobre a parte cinza do que a parte preto e branco. Uma pena, mas no geral gostei de como tudo se desenvolveu e o final foi muito bom, algo que geralmente é difícil as séries entregarem.

I rated Arcane (seasons 1 and 2 combined) a 5/10, but it’s not because the show is bad. On execution alone, this could’ve been an easy 8. The animation is striking, the atmosphere works, the emotional beats land, the voice acting totally worked for me. I got hooked hard enough to binge the last five episodes just to get closure. On a local level, it absolutely works. Where it starts to crack is beneath the surface. The show clearly prioritizes execution of familiar tropes over solid foundations. That’s fine up to a point - but Arcane keeps introducing elements as if they’ve always been deeply integrated into the world, without earning that assumption. New factions, new powers, new entities just… appear. The Black Rose is dropped in with unclear motives, rules and place in the bigger world. Other nations are referenced without context. The broader world structure - who governs what, how big this world even is, how magic is categorized - remains fuzzy. As someone who enjoys sci-fi, mystique and worldbuilding, I could roll with the science-magic locally, but the lack of basic logic and scale, and often even the lack of common sense at the macro level kept bothering me. Character-wise, this happens too. Jinx is clearly meant to embody chaos and trauma, but instead of being explored, she often just spins in place emotionally - loud, frantic, repetitive. We get the message, but not enough clarity into her inner workings. Powder’s too sudden attachment to Silco also felt rushed; she runs into his arms instantly, and the show expects you to accept that bond just to move on with the show. Ekko is another missed opportunity. He’s introduced as a childhood friend and suddenly reappears as a near-scientist and leader, but we’re never shown how he became that person. In a series so focused on emotion, his arc feels strangely neglected. The resolution doesn’t fully land either. It’s chaotic and emotionally charged, but also incomplete - especially with no certainty of a season 3. Several threads feel left hanging, not in a “thought-provoking” way, but in a structurally unfinished one. Then there’s the social messaging. It’s not the existence of it that bothered me, but the way it’s handled. One extra implied gay pairing here, one extra interracial coupling there - enough to see that it's deliberate rather than organic. Add to that a soundtrack that often leans too screamerish to my taste - frequently turning into a noise-fest that pulls me out of the experience instead of immersing me. So yes - Arcane impressed me. It also disappointed me. It’s strongest at surface excellence: emotion, animation, momentum, yet weakest at foundational clarity - rules, scale, causality, and character progression. For that reason alone, it doesn’t deserve a 10/10. The world-building itself never fully coheres: I was shown a beautiful frame, but the picture inside is hazy. However, my ultimate reaction is bittersweet because I felt used for social signalling and propaganda.

Arkin's collection proved that if you spend enough accuracy, elegance and effort, nothing will be impossible, not even making a good video adaptation. Arkin is so well-built that instead of ensuring his success due to the popularity of his league game legends, he credits himself with this game and its source of adaptation. This series was one of the few TV shows I've been excited to see in the last few years, so much so that I started seeing it again immediately after the series ended and watching the final scene, and I'm still writing this article, and I'm not thinking about it, and I'm looking forward to the next season (which I hope is as good as this season!). Arkin is a work that is not enough to see not once, not even twice.

This is just an example of a **** masterclass written show, visuals are the best I've seen in ANY animated show period. absolutely worth every second I watched it, and the attention to the smallest details constantly is divine.

Arguably the best animated series of all time. Emotional, amazing characters, awesome story, one of the best OSTs, outstanding visuals. Probably the closest thing to a 10 I've ever seen.

Animation and artwork is majestic, action scenes and coloristic is awesome, but characters are awful and unbelievable. Too much "emotions", almost nobody keeps their promise or sticks to his/her word, everybody is selfish and psychotic, naive and borderline stupid, the everlasting tantrum of kids that look like adults to the level that its cringe even to kids that suppose to have tantrums. I find it hard to empathize any positive character and it feels wrong to empathize villains. I couldnt finish season 2, because its just too irritating to watch

It’s hard to explain to someone how a “cartoon” based on a “video game” has been the best, most visually stunning, emotionally charged, thrilling piece of television you’ve come across in recent memory. So I won’t try to.

I've watched Arcane Season 1 & 2 twice, 1st I was really pleased and I truly believe that the production of that animated show set a new breakthrough after Pixar did 20 years ago. It lead me to deep dive into LoL lore and videos. But everything changed on my second watch through, I fully realized the hundred of details,references and cameo, and how incredible the insane amount of details that Fortiche the french studio. The choice of music became ever more obvious, and I came to really enjoy the show way more than I did the first time. This is a masterpiece that should be taught in every animation school around the world. Best animated show ever produced by Netflix, hit me as hard as 1st pixar or 1st Ghibli did.. Can't recommend it enough, and take your time to rewatch it...

One word: PERFECT! Only bad thing is that finish to much early, we need more episode for telling us more about the story- back story of the character and the continius of the plot .

This is such an amazing show, i was always like "oh this looks like it ****" but recently I have been into art and oh my god, I love this type of animation, i wish i could do this and i would watch it again. 10/10 show

Objectively: 10/10 Subjectively: I wish I could have had more. With the hype that the first 5 acts created, I think there was no way that the 6th act would feel satisfying. The first time I watched, I felt it was rushed and there was stuff lacking. Then I rewatched and rewatched again. Every time I rewatched felt the ending to be more and more appropriate. Now after many months, I can safely say that the show finished exactly how it should be. Will everyone be satisfied? Of course not! We all have our fantasies that we wished would come true but given enough time I'd say it hit the nail on the head with the tone of the show.

Generational masterpiece that redefines the limits of animation and art direction,combining it with an interesting plot and complex/morally grey characters, this show is truly a perspective-changing experience for all media. The show does not waste your time, nor pulls its punches, every detail, every dialogue is meaningful and feels **** way the show handles mental disorders, class oppression, violence etc. themes is very serious and realistic, thus making it an emotionally impactful story despite being a short one. The only complaint i can make is about Season 2 in which i think the show was rushed quite a bit and for that it lost some of its important character development arcs, and plot of the show seems to change completely halfway, it's pretty obvious that this was intended to be a 3 season show but they either they didn't want to drag the series too much and move on to the next regions to further introduce the runeterra universe to the viewers, or the product wasn't profitable(animation is costy) and they couldn't get the approval of the higher-ups, the latter makes more sense even though they aren't mutually exclusive. Despite second season not meeting my very-highly set expectations previously by season 1, it's still a 10/10 experience and worth to give it a shot

Jamais jouer à league of legend et pourtant je suis resté scotché devant la série. c'est excellent. l'animation, les graphismes et putain LA BANDE SON QUI COLLE SUPER BIEN AUX SCENES. c'est l'une des rares série ou j'ai trouvé les personnages féminins super badass et pas chiante à en mourir. dsl mais faut que je fasse un point dessus : il y en a marre des séries de merde qui soit disant font passer des messages incroyables et au final tu finis déçu parce que c'est woke à en devenir gavant et qui n'ont pas de message très convaincant. t'as juste l'impression de voir une guerre d'égo sur qui a la plus forte inégalité ou la plus forte injustice. Avec Arcane tout est normal, tout est pertinent. ici on parle de société, on parle de vivre ensemble, on parle de justice, on parle d'humain, on parle de causes et de conséquences. Dans ce genre d'univers, que tu sois noir, blanc, rouge violet multicolore, gaie hétéro homme femme ou autre. ON S'EN BAS LES COUILLES. (j'espère me faire comprendre). Bref. Arcane c'est un 10 sur 10 et après la saison 2. je serai content d'avoir une autre série comme celle-ci à travers LoL.

Everything about Arcane is absolutely PERFECT, and I’ve got nothing to say.

"Arcane" is one of the greatest video game adaptations ever made and easily one of Netflix’s best shows. Even if you know nothing about League of Legends, the emotional character development, gripping story, breathtaking animation, and perfect soundtrack will leave you hooked. Every episode hits, going above and beyond expectations. Arcane sets the standard for excellence in cinema and has become one of the greatest shows I’ve seen on television.

I CRIED ON 2ND EPISODE OF 1 SEASON. THE CHARACTERS ARE AHHH. VI AND CATELYN.... I am not a league of legends fan, i never played this game, but i very like this series.

It is as perfect a show could come to fruition. Characters, visuals, stories- it comes packed with it and then some. For any animation fanatic out there, this is a must watch.

A ver, la serie es muy buena, creo que es muy buena a nivel de dirección, a nivel artistico ni se diga y su soundtrack es dios, solo que hay un motivo por el cual le pondría un 3, es que literalmente se cagaron en su propio canon xD

Es simplemente la mejor serie animada que haya visto, yo era de los que la evitaba a toda costa por estar bajo el nombre de League of Legends (Soy gamer desde la cuna pero uno con principios :P) Y Dios mio! Legué buscando cobre y encontré ORO Cada cuadro de la animacion muestra todo el amor y esfuerzo del equipo combinado con una historia tragica practicamente impredecible y fresca. Nunca sabes si un personaje es 100% bueno o malo y es algo que no recuerdo haber visto antes en una serie de este tipo. El claro ejemplo de que nunca hay que juzgar un libro por su portada, Arcane es una verdadera OBRA DE ARTE. No puedo esperar para lo que el estudio nos traiga en el futuro con los ya confirmados spin-offs

Season 1 is so good and the characters have clear justification for their actions, the story was focused on piltover versus Zaun, not so sure about how season 2 turned out tho, but then the animation is great, every scene feels like a wallpaper pick. Overall, season 1 is a must watch, season 2 tho, eh visuals over story I guess.

I've seen a lot of things in my life. Great things, bad things, crazy things. But Arcane has given us something that leaves us all speechless. 10-20 years ago, the most we could get was things like Ghost in The Shell, films from Ghibli Studios, etc. But who would have thought that a French studio founded in 2009 could shock us all. Fortiche Production SAS is the name of Riot Games' secret weapon. And what the guys and girls have put together has never been seen before. Apart from the fact that the story has its weaknesses here and there and the pacing isn't quite up to scratch, everything else about this show, this masterpiece, is masterful. Direction, characters, style, action, camera work and the right use of music. The latter is so well done that it takes my breath away every time and I'm completely immersed. The emotions that are celebrated are simply unbelievable and unbelievably beautiful. Especially in flashbacks or memories, the story is simply turned 360 degrees and takes us into another little world. And I think that's what many modern productions have forgotten how to do. Have a vision of your product and tell it consistently to the end without giving a damn about any rules. That's how incredibly good products are created. Like The Last of Us or Life is Strange. Or Detroit Become Human. Please don't lose your creativity and don't let people tell you what to do when it comes to creating something really special.
