Willy's Wonderland

No, it doesn’t make much sense. But holy shit, it’s a wild-ass ride.

Willy’s Wonderland has the garish stop-and-go rhythm of an ’80s slasher film, and I mean that as a compliment. It’s a gorefest to relax into with a can of Punch (or something stronger).

Come for Nic Cage fighting a robot alligator with a mop. Stay for some inventive licks on the dead-by-dawn horror-movie template, though the other characters are nothing to shriek about.

Willy’s Wonderland is a jokey elevator pitch in search of a movie. It’s the kind of genre junk—a low-rent, one-gag cartoon slasher—whose supposed gonzo appeal begins and ends with a description of its premise.

The film has a nutty premise and a game star, but it too quickly runs out of fresh ideas.

Director Kevin Lewis powers through this thing (the odd mispronounced “blown” line makes it into the film) as if he knows the script is crap and that his leading lady’s not the best at registering shock, fear or fury and there’s no point in looking for a better take. But Cage, dyed hair, beard and boots, brings home the B-movie bacon, as usual. It’s just seriously undercooked this time out.

Willy’s Wonderland feels like a movie conceived during a drinking game. A few people had a few too many after a few rough days and dared each other to come up with the most ridiculous concept they could get produced.

Endlich mal was anderes! Prollig und Männlich. Wirkt wie Five Nights at Freddys.

I can't justify more than a 6/10 for this movie but it was campy in a way that was weirdly fun and entertaining, making this a surprisingly memorable film. Bonus points for Nicolas Cage

Перед нами фильм с идеями, которые взяты из знаменитой серии игр "Five Nights at Freddy’s" и менее известной игры "Viscera Cleanup Detail", а также с Николасом Кейджем в главной роли. Именно Николас Кейдж является главным плюсом фильма (ей-богу аниматроники-убийцы пытаются его убить, а ему на это абсолютно пофиг, он продолжает убирать это жуткое место и спокойно пить пиво во время перерывов), а художественный приём с его молчаливым героем как ни странно идеально работает. Не исключено, что это целиком и полностью заслуга Ника Кейджа, который вывозит почти весь фильм исключительно на своей харизме главной безумной трэш-иконы последних 15 лет. Где вы еще такое увидите!!! Но к сожалению игра актёров оставляет желать лучшего. Качество фильма, пожалуй, является главным его недостатком (бюджет фильма 5 000 000 $). Но я решил закрыть на это глаза за счёт его бешеного драйва и невероятной дозы безумия. Можно ли считать этот фильм шедевром? Нет!!! Получился ли фильм забавным? Да!!!

Horrible and I love it! The movie was one of the best worst movies I've ever seen. Nicholas Cage says 0 lines. As if he did not want to be in the film and only agreed to do it if he didn't need to talk. Not to mention the story is a complete rip off of Five Nights at Freddy's. The entire movie is laughably bad. During the movie Nicholas Cage continuously drinks a purple soda. Every time he drank the soda my theatre would yell I love a (certain purple drug). The movie is awful but extremely enjoyable to watch with friends. Not many movies have Nicholas Cage choke a robot ostrich.
