V/H/S Halloween mantiene la esencia caótica de la franquicia: historias cortas, found footage sucio y terror directo. No todos los segmentos funcionan igual, y algunos se sienten más flojos o repetitivos. Aun así, cuando acierta, logra momentos inquietantes y creativos. No es la mejor entrega de la saga, pero cumple como experiencia de horror rápido, ideal para fans del formato y la temporada.

The best V/H/S film yet due to its consistency. The only weak point of the movie was the interludes.

Ainda dá pra se divertir com o "Hermes e Renato do Terror", mas é inconcebível ter quase duas horas de duração, de modo que ao passar de uma hora, como já é tudo o mais do mesmo, a desatenção prevalece. Algumas cenas valem ficar acordado.

the dissolution of the essence. it’s been several installments since 'v/h/s' left behind the essence that made it a phenomenon within experimental horror. in its attempt to offer something “different,” the franchise has been losing what once made it unique: its ability to combine the fantastic, the surreal, and the grotesque with an almost philosophical look at fear. in 'v/h/s/halloween', that decline becomes especially evident. although it retains certain characteristic elements —the found footage aesthetic, the blood, the unreal—, the stories feel basic, predictable, and lacking in depth. the result is a collection of tales that function more as generic horror than as pieces that challenge the viewer, something the earlier entries managed to do. the first recording of this new anthology is, without a doubt, the most accomplished. the setting, character design, makeup, and atmosphere work perfectly, evoking for a moment what the saga once was at its best. however, from that point on, everything falls apart: creativity fades, and the film sinks into a territory of repetition, visual excess, and little narrative risk. what’s most frustrating is that 'v/h/s/halloween' seems to have abandoned what made 'v/h/s' great: those stories that, beneath their layer of brutality and blood, hid reflections on obsession, faith, or morality. this time, the focus is limited to visual impact, to the gallons of blood and the endless stream of ghosts. it’s not a total disaster, nor as disappointing as 'v/h/s/viral', but it is a clear example of how a brilliant franchise can dissolve into simplicity. what was once an extreme horror spectacle with depth and message now feels like a cheap slasher, devoid of identity and emotion. perhaps 'v/h/s/halloween' isn’t the end of the saga, but it does represent a dangerous turning point. if they continue down this path, what was once a benchmark of contemporary horror risks becoming a boring parody of itself —a soulless succession of gore. spanish: la disolución de la esencia: han pasado ya varias entregas desde que 'v/h/s' dejó atrás la esencia que la convirtió en un fenómeno dentro del terror experimental. en su intento por ofrecer algo “distinto”, la franquicia ha ido perdiendo aquello que la hacía única: su capacidad para combinar lo fantástico, lo surrealista y lo grotesco con una mirada casi filosófica hacia el miedo. en 'v/h/s/halloween', esa decadencia se hace especialmente evidente. aunque conserva ciertos rasgos característicos —la estética del metraje encontrado, el componente sangriento, lo irreal—, las historias se sienten básicas, previsibles y carentes de profundidad. el resultado es un conjunto de relatos que funcionan más como terror genérico que como piezas que desafían al espectador, algo que las primeras entregas sí lograban. la primera grabación de esta nueva antología es, sin duda, la más lograda. la ambientación, el diseño de los personajes, el maquillaje y la atmósfera funcionan a la perfección, recordando por momentos lo que fue la saga en sus mejores años. sin embargo, a partir de ahí todo se desmorona: la creatividad se desvanece y la película se adentra en un terreno de repetición, exceso visual y poco riesgo narrativo. lo más frustrante es que 'v/h/s/halloween' parece haber renunciado a lo que hacía grande a 'v/h/s': esos relatos que, bajo su capa de brutalidad y sangre, escondían reflexiones sobre la obsesión, la fe o la moral. en esta ocasión, el foco se limita al impacto visual, a los litros de sangre y a los fantasmas multiplicados hasta el agotamiento. no es una catástrofe total, ni una decepción tan severa como lo fue 'v/h/s/viral', pero sí una muestra de cómo una franquicia brillante puede diluirse en la simpleza. lo que antes era un espectáculo de terror extremo con trasfondo y mensaje, hoy se siente como un slasher barato, carente de identidad y emoción. quizá 'v/h/s/halloween' no sea el final de la saga, pero sí representa un punto de inflexión peligroso. si continúan por este camino, lo que fue un referente del horror contemporáneo corre el riesgo de convertirse en una parodia aburrida de sí misma, una sucesión de vísceras sin alma.

VHS is always a mix of enjoyability. This one for me was pretty mid. 1 & 3 was just unlikable characters in dumb weird situations. 2 was fun but barely Halloween related. 4 was the strongest and then they threw it out for a dumb ending that doesn't make sense. 5 has the best pacing, but super cheesy. The wrap-around is silly but fun

First two clips are very good and it remind you how V/H/S is orginally very unique and peak type horror movies. But like V/H/S beyond this movie very poor and very low budget thing.

Decent entry. Better then the last one. Some nice gory scenes with a bit of humour.

This was a really strong entry in the series, although one piece i felt was really brutal to the point of poor taste. But its a haloween horror show. Really enjoyed it,would recommend for horror fans.
