Childhood as a memory. Advances in animation technology have reached a point where, in 'Toy Story 3', if I stop and carefully observe certain frames, I can almost consider them photorealistic. The lighting, textures, and overall visual construction convey a sense of digital life that nevertheless feels real. What makes this achievement even more impressive is that the technical leap never overshadows the emotional core of the film. Instead, its greatest strength lies in the way it connects with something universal: the passage of time and the end of childhood. The feeling of growing up inevitably leads to a point where we stop playing with toys and begin storing them away, donating them, or throwing them out because we no longer belong to that stage of life. It may sound like a simple change, but in reality it is a profound one, because it is not just about objects. It is about memories, identity, and a way of seeing the world that disappears without us realizing it at the time. In my own case, I still keep some toys and belongings from when I was a child. I no longer use them, but I do not want to get rid of them because they function as physical reminders of my childhood. In fact, I remember almost throwing some of them away because of that sudden urge to feel more mature, as if growing up necessarily meant leaving all of it behind. Fortunately, my mother stopped me, and over time I have come to think that doing so would have carried a significant emotional cost. Those objects represent a period of my life that will never return. 'Toy Story 3' captures that idea perfectly: sometimes growing up becomes confused with forgetting or discarding. Visually, this is the most vibrant entry in the franchise, at least among the films I have seen so far. The colors are more saturated, the lighting is stronger, and there is a constant sense of movement and energy in almost every scene. Yet, at the same time, I find it to be the saddest film in the series. The more alive it looks, the more it speaks about farewells, loss, and the fear of abandonment. Its cinematography and production design almost seem to compensate for the emotional emptiness at the heart of the story. This combination allows the film to operate on two levels simultaneously: superficially joyful, yet deeply melancholic underneath. Within this emotional conflict, Woody is the key figure. He carries the dramatic weight of the entire story on his fabric shoulders because he embodies the desperate attachment to what someone's life has been up until that point. Woody is not only fighting for his friends; he is fighting for the belief that it is not yet time to let go, that there is still something worth holding onto. Through him, the film explores the struggle of clinging to the past: to stages of life, to people, and even to versions of ourselves that no longer fit within the present. As a contrast to this emotional dimension, the film also introduces a darker tone than anything previously seen in the franchise. The daycare center often feels unsettling, not simply because of the way the toys are treated, but because of the atmosphere of abandonment and control that dominates the environment. At the center of it all is Lotso, one of the most unpleasant characters in the entire franchise and, honestly, one of the most unpleasant characters I have seen in any film. It is not merely his personality that makes him so disturbing, but what he represents: someone who turns his own pain into something collective and destructive. He is a villain who generates not only hatred, but also genuine discomfort. I remember despising him as a child, even before I fully understood the reasons why. From a narrative perspective, the film relies on a relatively straightforward structure of heroes versus villains, but it never limits itself to that framework. Through these conflicts, what truly emerges is the idea of childhood as something fragile, a space that can suddenly disappear or transform beyond recognition. Because of this, the toys cease to be mere toys and become symbols of memory, emotional attachment, and all those things that accompany a person throughout life without them fully realizing their importance at first. All of this culminates in the film's final moments, which I consider among the most moving scenes ever created in animated cinema. Not because they are simply sad, but because they are constructed with such emotional honesty that nothing feels forced. Feeling emotional during those scenes seems almost inevitable. The ending speaks about accepting that every stage of life eventually comes to an end and learning how to preserve memories without becoming trapped by them. That is what affects me the most: it is not merely a farewell to the characters, but a confrontation with the very idea of childhood itself. 'Toy Story 3' is not only a film of remarkable technical achievement; it is also a work of genuine human depth.

This is the best in the (I wish) trilogy and the (I wish) perfect ending to the perfect trilogy. 10/10. Childhood classic.

Another excellent film in this franchise. The voice acting is superb, as is the animation, and the storyline is strong. Definitely worth a watch!

Didn't care for this one too much, the first two were some of my favorite movies as a kid and I was hoping for a grand finale. This one just seemed like an attempt to win your sympathy without actually doing so. The ending felt forced, the tropes seemed recycled and there was really nothing there to consider it anything other than an average kids movie.

Like an old slugger on the downswing of his career, under the right circumstances Pixar can still knock the ball out of the park. Toy Story 3 is living proof, vivid and playful and touching and meaningful at or above the lofty levels of their mid-peak masterworks. With a true ensemble cast, it allows the old stars to spin their familiar spells while tossing in a few new supporting players (Michael Keaton as Barbie's beau Ken is especially entertaining) but wisely doesn't focus on any single character for too long. With a roster this well developed, still clicking deep into their third feature, why not celebrate that kind of rare, wonderful diversity? I'm glad Pixar waited to tell the right story, too: the level of care, meaning and power that's on display here simply doesn't come around all that often. Let's do it right or not at all, yeah? Needless to add, it's a visual stunner, with brighter colors, more brilliant settings and no shortage of Pixar charm fit right in alongside the timeless character designs and artistic themes of the two preceding films. An essential tale that's effectively moving, sweet, heartfelt and hilarious... and maybe even the best chapter of the trilogy.

Honestly, this movie is one of the worst Disney movies I ever watched. All it does is pull on the heart strings of the viewers until they shatter. This movie makes you cry multiple times and not for a good reason, this is no children movie either; it's twisted, creepy and anguishing. Honestly this is the worst toy story by far.

This movie is my 2nd favorite animated film ever, behind the lion king. Everything hit the target amazingly well, the always unforgettable and god like plot, charcters. Yes, this movie is lots of things, but above all: it is my favorite modern animated movie, and is my 2nd favorite animated film ever. If you have not watched this film, shame on you. go watch it you will never reget it.

My favorite out of the series. All the toys get accidently donated when Andy goes to college. Now they are stuck at a nursery school where they get played with way to rough. The toys that's been there for a while, run the nursery like a prison. Freaking hilarious!

Where do I begin. Toy story 3 is smart, funny, and a little scarier than the first two. The characters are so great, lovable characters, hatable characters and it isn’t just a movie about toys. It has genuine human emotions and real life experiences. And the ending. I’ve seen it about 50 times, and no dry eyes are left. In my opinion, the best of the series.

Much like Toy Story 2, this is a great sequel and a great film overall. Lotso was a damn good villain, even if he wasn't perfect (I liked Stinky Pete slightly more tbh). I think I slightly prefer the second one but the prison escape scene was very entertaining so I'm not sure if I like this one or 2 more. Both are very good films

This movie is a thing to behold. Don't be turned away from Toy Story 3 because a "3" is tacked on the end. This isn't just a movie about toys, it's a movie about genuine human emotions. Its funny, clever, sad, and enlightening. For an animated movie to have all of these characteristics and to surpass most movies I've seen lately is incredible. And tto add to that, the animation is impeccable, the story is great, and the characters are lovable (old and new). A great way to end a great movie series

Allora... Consigliato? Sì.

Toy story 3 is a lesson for arrogant young people who still believe they are strong but know that we are getting old ...
As usual, Pixar offers us a personification of toys that give us morale, notably Losto who is one of the best antagonists in all of Disney.

I love this movie the more I watch it. It has been a year or two since I watched it last and I was afraid I was going to think that it's another disposable kids film on my most recent viewing, but it's not. This movie will be extremely entertaining for kids as it was for me, but it will make adults cry. Moving on and letting go is a message anyone can relate to. The first two-thirds of this movie is really great, but the last third is top tier film making. I couldn't believe my eyes. Every emotion they go for hits you really really hard and all the sequences had me at the edge of my seat the entire time. If you're a parent, show this to your kids. If you're a grandparent, show it to your grandkids. If you are going to college for the first time, watch it. There's not one person that this movie wasn't intended for. This movie is intended for everyone. If you don't like this movie, why? Did it make you feel too much? Give me a break. This is my favorite Toy Story movie, my favorite PIXAR movie, and my favorite animated movie of all time.

Toy Story set the bar very high and so Toy Story 2 it was not easy to surpass the previous part, but it was all the more incredible that Toy Story 3 is even better and in my opinion not only the best part of the series, but also one of the best animated movies at all. The animation is absolutely beautiful and the story is excellent. Toy Story 2 had one luxurious moment, but Toy Story 3 has those luxurious moments to scatter and I won't spoiler, but mainly the end is perhaps the best moment in the history of animated films ever. In short, MASTERPIECE.

..A Perfect Tale of Adventure and Devotion
Since I felt none of the other reviews here do the movie justice, I became compelled to write my own. It is the most inspired film I have ever encountered. The creators of Toy Story 3 have an imagination that is unparalleled. I cannot begin to compare any of the other animated movies that I have ever seen to it. It is a fantasy in an unconventional sense: aside from the talking toys, the environment and settings are typical; commonplace. Yet, the Pixar Team manages to cram every last drop of energy into the incredibly clever story and inventive plot devices out of just common household objects. The animation is so brilliant that it captures shading, lighting, and textures that have yet to be seen on film. Then, Toy Story 3 becomes a beautiful elaboration on the first two, with very clever character development. Its maturity of relationships is concise but witty: Woody, the wise sheriff, leading the other toys with courage and finesse; a spaceman winning the love of a cowgirl; the loyalty of the dog, slinky; the grumpy married potato and his devoted wife; the superficial relationship of Ken and Barbie; the broken spirit of a lost teddy bear. At the same time, Pixar uses a metaphor that is so strong that it drives the audience to love these characters with all of their hearts. It is a similar emotional complex to a happy puppy who is brought into a home and has nothing on its mind but playing with its youthful owners. But these toys never age, and as its owners, once in their playful youths, leave for work and college, these toys still know nothing more than their youth and happiness of living to one day play again. As you leave for work every morning, your dog doesn't know where you go. And every day, he does nothing more than pray that you come back to see him, every day waiting for you to bring out the ball again for a game of fetch. Finally comes Pixar's ability to integrate so many emotions - fear, love, action, and comedy, among others - with each having so much vigor in its own right, that the movie becomes a roller coaster of animation and adventure, wound together by the constant movement of setting and storyline, always keeping the audience guessing on what might happen next. It is a brilliant tale; a perfect movie for children and adults alike. I cannot wait to see it again.
