The movie sweeps you along with a brisk pace and even dashes of humor.

It’s a bit silly maybe, with a plot that requires you to overlook the implausibility of a certain smartphone with no passcode protection. But there is a nifty premise.

This was released in 2016 as Bastille Day, but didn’t get a wide play because it coincided with terrorist attacks in Paris and Nice. Richard Madden plays a pickpocket in Paris who becomes embroiled in a bombing plot. A CIA agent (Idris Elba) scoops him up and they tackle the villains who are out to create anarchy. There’s not much original in the plot and it sometimes stretches credibility, but the execution is solid. The fights and chases are well-staged, especially the opening rooftop pursuit. Nothing new here, but the actors’ solid turns and the well-paced action make it an enjoyable entry into the genre.

what to do when you're wanted for "acts of terrorism" when you were just simply looking for an easy pick?....instead of arresting him, Sean (Idris) uses Michael(Richard) to reveal the corrupt law enforcement in the city of love. action packed, lots of pick pocketing, diversion and redemption the only thing that **** is that i dont read as fast as i should in the french speaking scenes but i digress.

It’s Watkins’ lean, keen instinct for choreographing and cutting action set pieces that keeps Bastille Day afloat.

Elba’s action credentials are well-established, so there’s little for him to prove here. The fights are convincing enough, even if the plot is all coincidence, conspiracy and con jobs.

For a film so interested in the public's malleability, The Take isn't particularly good at controlling its own audience.

Taken as a transient, high-paced and familiar rock 'em, sock' em kind of film, it packs quite a punch.

Pros:
Actions were stunning & satisfying
Brutal police, handsome thief and a pretty girl
Decent pacing in story progression Cons: Predictable and cliche stories , nothing groundbreaking Despite there is cons, but i think this movies deserved more attention and likes. Definitely worth to watch if you like actions movie, but if you are expecting complicated stories , then pls Fk off !

No sabía que película ver y tenía no mucho tiempo y decidí ver 'The Take'.

Don't expect too much about this movie but if you like action movies I think it's not a waste of time watching it though to my taste I would have preferred more action scenes.

One wrong move made a small time thief a target. The first thing is this film came at the worst time in the history of France. If it was set in elsewhere in the world would have had less issue, but the Paris terror attack and this theme had lots of similarity. I mean it was nothing to do with the incident, but the contents are very impactful. Which also might be the reason for the film not doing well. I did not enjoy much this film, for me it was the story that turned me off. It was sympathetic to terrorists in the first half, so I completely hated that part, and then the last 30 or so minutes it got better. I mean not awesome or like that, but just good. Directed by 'Eden Lake' famed director. Another very familiar story, but altered like it was for the first time in a film. So most of the parts are predictable, but one twist during the beginning of the third act made it look good. Amazing pace, it just keeps getting bigger and bigger going forward. But as we know, those developments were so clichéd. All the actors were okay, and it has some decent stunts as well. I think it is a good timepass film and nothing else.. 6/10
