Gosling’s one of those actors for whom a recurring action hero role somehow feels long overdue, and the Russos have taken advantage of more than just his good looks and smoldering gazes.

Between the Russos behind the camera and the talent in front of it, The Gray Man is a fun and exciting action thriller. It may be in the vein of cheesy 80s and 90s action movies, but that makes The Gray Man all the more entertaining and rewatchable.

I enjoyed this much more than the critics and certainly more than the commentators on here. Is it derivative? Yes. But's it's also a lot of fun, the action is fantastic and supported by really strong performances on Gosling and Thornton's part. There's also just enough humor and heart to make the violence palatable. It's a blast. I would have normally given it a 7/8, but since everyone has criminally underrated it, we'll go with a ten. Watch it, you won't be disappointed.

It feels almost like a pitch to direct Bond and – in common with the recent 007 spoof scenes in Minions – it’s a better Bond film than (at least) the last two entries from that franchise, save for a couple of things.

The movie feels increasingly tired. All that gunplay, all that traveling, all that sneering from Lloyd: Everything gets a bit . . . much.

The bloated, bombastic and brain-dead Netflix actioner The Gray Man is a depressingly formulaic waste of the talents of the Russo Brothers and the A-list cast — and a complete waste of 2 hours and 2 minutes of your time, unless you’re content to hit the “Recline” button on your theater seat, soak in the exotic locations, jam your arm into a bucket o’ popcorn and laugh at the hackneyed, cartoonishly violent and utterly ridiculous idiocy of the entire exercise.

The Gray Man was directed by brothers Joe and Anthony Russo, though it’s such a synthetic, soulless bundle of goods that it barely feels touched by human hands. Full of smirking one-liners, blink-and-you-miss-’em international locations and acts of gratuitously unpleasant (if more implied than seen) violence, it’s basically Netflix Winding Refn; it’s globe-trotting comic nihilism for the whole streaming-loving family.

The Gray Man is a completely anonymous viewing experience, a series of set pieces and pithy jokes that’s devoid of personality.

The Gray Man is another fascinating achievement of a solid action movie after Bullet Train which i apparently watch before The Gray Man, it is the most fun i've had watching an action movie since Bullet Train, this is my **** and not only in terms of the action, but the performance, the character, the score, the cinematography, the story, named all of it, it's perfect, it's incredible, it's somehow a rare case of just make him god and got through all of it perfectly and it's not gonna bother me, that's how much i love the movie because it's nailed it at every aspect, back to back incredible and exciting action with incredible performance, engaging story, The Gray Man is simply one of the best films of the year.

Ortalama üstü bir yapımdı genel olarak. Aksiyon sahneleri keyifliydi. Tavsiye edilir.

I like the movie it has some good action in some parts and it's intense I didn't get an emotional attachment to any of the character, but I really wanted the bad guys who could hidden their face so it did get a feelings reaction out of **** you watch this movie you do it for the action scenes, they are good like in I could feel that you're awake in some of them. They were good so it certainly worth that the characters actings are good enough. I'm just sat about the Script not being more interested in but I would say it's an experience worth watching because if you have Netflix then just do it.

Update: changed my score to a 3 and after saying I'd come back to watch the rest of the movie - I decided not to - my life is worth more than sitting through this typical netflix-star-stacking drivel. Makes me angry - this could have been decent with a little of the $$$ going into decent writing, less blowing-up and maybe - getting rid of some of the big-name stars for someone who puts in some effort. I do think the bad acting comes down to terrible direction and terrible writing. Not sure if I can ever look at Chris Evans as a viable actor again.. same for Ana de Armas... I'm half-way through and I will finish but it will take a bit - some fast-fwding and some complete boredom. This is a typical 'star-stacking' Netflix movie... huge cast but geez, spend a little money on writing. not only is the plot BORING and just a thread for these actors to 'follow?', but the dialogue is wooden and cliche driven. Doesn't help that most of the actors are barely trying. Ryan Gosling is always good on screen but even his character gets old. While he is the 'hero' we really don't care much about him. Chris Evans is brutal... not sure if it is the horrible character, bad direction, poor lines given to him or what but every time he is on screen I cringe. Most disappointed with Ana de Armas... she has zero on-screen chemistry in this and no - we don't ever believe that is her jumping from bridges/buildings or completely kicking ass against a bad guy. She doesn't even look that great in this movie. Yeah - Billy Bob Thornton is always watchable but even his character is someone we should but don't care about. The rest of the actors/characters are just huge cliche's... the direction was 'you are a bad guy - be bad, you are a bad guy with a conscience - be bad but feel bad about it, or - you are a good guy - nothing can kill you... ... but when the direction is to 'be bad' I'm sure it didn't mean ' act poorly'... but that is the end result...

Chris Evans over the top performance kept me from turning the film off. Major disappointment from the Russos.
