You hate to see it. When a simple, fun, and friendly game like Angry Birds gets picked up, there's money on the table, and somebody's gotta grab it. Sequels, tv shows, and finally, a big Hollywood movie, that has to expand into a bloated farce and explain simple things the original took for granted. "Why DO you shoot them with a slingshot?!" That being said, the actual film is pretty funny sometimes. Past the ad nauseum bird/egg/pig puns, which can be lighthearted and cheeky if done right, the real humor falls on Red's neighbors acting idiotic, as he rolls his eyes at them. There are more than a few jokes that get weirder and darker than you'd think, and maybe, just MAYBE a poignant message about not waiting for somebody else to solve the problem. Your leaders and heroes are human, and fallible. It might be up to you, yes, YOU to do what's right. It really could've been much worse, like Garfield (2024), or any one of the Minion movies.

Who I think all the characters would be in TF2: Scout-Chuck(very fast), Soldier-Matilda(can explosive jump in a Soldier-esque way), Pyro-Terrance(has mysterious aura) Demoman-Bomb(explosives expert), Heavy-Bubbles(looks un-intimidating, but is a force to be reckoned with), Engineer-Forman Pig(only character in the comics to be on the enemy team, can build things), Medic-Mighty Eagle(Very important, can save an entire team if put into play), Sniper-Red(No one in the movie likes him), Spy-The Mime Bird(Mimery is a French profession, Spy is French)

The Angry Birds Movie is absolute cinema. It is pure, unfiltered, unrelenting absolute cinema. Every frame radiates excellence; every scene is sheer, undeniable absolute cinema. Rarely has a film felt so splendid, so magnificent, so masterful. Watching it is like witnessing absolute cinema unfold before your very eyes — over and over again. It’s a glorious, exceptional, first-rate example of how something simple can become absolute cinema. There’s an outstanding quality to it, a remarkable sense of craft that screams absolute cinema from start to finish. It’s dazzling, superior, exquisite in ways that words can barely capture. In fact, calling it merely good feels like an understatement; it is absolute cinema of the highest caliber. There’s no doubt: The Angry Birds Movie is legendary, brilliant, and, above all, absolute cinema. In short its absolute cinema.

"Angry Birds: The Movie" is surprisingly good, especially considering its humble origins as a basic phone game. Despite its simple premise, the movie delivers a fun and entertaining experience that will delight audiences of all ages. With its vibrant animation and humorous storyline, it's a pleasant surprise that exceeds expectations.

I was 10 years old when I first saw this movie. I remember having it on DVD, seeing it available on the iTunes store on my iPad, and watching it every now and then. Now, as now I'm older, I felt like it's entertaining and beautifully animated but I felt like it has some overlong and tired scenes and scattershot plot elements. The film's faithfulness to the games I still really appreciate though. And I will still say it's a decent animated film based on a game.

If Chuck was main character we could have a good movie. After first 15 min movie slows down and for the rest of the movie you end up wishing they stopped dragging the jokes for so long. Animation is pretty decent and for game adaptation it presents the lore pretty good, but we are talking about a phone app game lore so its about as shallow as you can imagine.

realmente es una pelicula divertida, con un trama sencilla y una animación buena sin embargo se queda corta en algunos aspectos, pero sin embargo la pueden ver tanto adultos como niños.

Plays like a mindless video game, without any of the interaction or consequences. Even for its younger audience, it never allows the opportunity to let them think because its main character always has to explain everything in an obvious fashion. The money for this production could've been used for something more meaningful.

No es una película excelente, pero no es tan mala como se dice; la animación es buena, la trama es divertida y los personajes son carismáticos; es bastante decente.

This movie is the definition of “Okay” Its not amazing, but it’s also not bad. It’s a family-friendly movie and stays true to the original angry birds franchise (mostly). Gets a bunch of good laughs out of you, is interesting enough to keep watching, Great animation, characters show a lot of character, has a great moral of the story, but you know, nothing very special. It’s your average family-friendly movie. If you want something quick to watch, or perhaps need a movie to watch with your kids, definitely watch this movie. The sequel was garbage though.

This isn't a bad movie but I have a few problems with it. The humor isn't really that funny. I laughed 2 times on the cake part and that other part in it. The animation is decent but could use improvement. Other than that the movie's fine.

Angry Birds brings yuck and disgust to an already dumb male-led adaptation of an app that provides us with pretty much nothing to gain.

Honestly, I like this movie. I laughed quite a bit, the animation is good, and an all-star cast keep the movie going. While only Red gets any development, I was entertained all the way through this film.

The angry birds was suprisingly good i thought this would be terrible and it would ****. but this was one of the funniest and most entertaining movies for the whole family to enjoy. the movir follows the source material very closely where the pigs steal the eggs and the birds must fight to get them back.

This movie is very entertaining and especially funny for the kids. Although you can tell it's a cash grabs, the jokes aren't that repetitive and animation is pretty good. This movie is very family friendly and has some funny outtakes too along with some likeable characters.

Angry Birds used to be on the app store, They really need to put it back on the app store, and stop making us try to play angry birds 2. Our children will not be able to enjoy what i have enjoyed as a kid.

the movie is nothing but blindness comedy with a lack of story just trying to make a mobile game a movie with some top and bottom notch actors so unless you are the age of 9 or younger or like a blindness comedy lack of story add on **** from 2009 i suggest not watching it.

One of the few movies based on a video game that I have seen that is actually good. Visuals are really vibrant and colourful. Characters are good. Humour is largely hit or miss though (generally a mix of crude humour and lines that I can hilariously relate to). The movie basically has the same plot as the original game but with further backstory, which I liked. The climactic battle scene was done well and is very reminiscent of the app's gameplay. I'm probably older than the movie's main intended age range, so the toilet humour will probably appeal more to children. That said though, I found The Angry Birds Movie to generally be a great adaptation of the game and expansion upon its plot.

The idea of bringing a classic cell phone game to the cinema was not bad until they decided on a shallow and weak script. However, it becomes good for children. There is no reason to create expectations for a continuation. 5.6/10

Severely underrated movie due to reviewer political bias, it is very witty and breaks free of cliches with some of the most interesting original characters, very surprising since the original game has no plot, no dialog and barely anything to build with

You know, it honestly blows my mind that this is one of the highest-rating video game-based films on Rotten Tomatoes. I have to wonder if that speaks to the quality of video game-based films in general (I've only seen a select fews), because if THIS is really one of the BEST out of them, I'm terrified to watch any of the others! "The Angry Birds Movie" is lucky that it at least looks pretty, because there is almost nothing else going for it! There's not ONE character in the movie worth rooting for (I can't even remember their names)! There's not one joke in the movie that doesn't feel like it's going on for way too long (specifically the bird peeing)! Why is the damn movie so mean-spirited, even for something called "Angry Birds?" What the hell kind of lesson does this teach kids? That anger is all you need to succeed? Come on! And speaking of which, for a movie geared at kids, why are so many of the jokes in here so un-kid-friendly? This isn't even a movie I can recommend for families, because the jokes aren't even family-friendly! This is a movie I recommend if you're really hating yourself and you want to test your patience for an hour and a half. This is a movie where I don't sympathize with the characters, but I sympathize with anyone who had to sit through it. Yet another giant pile of dreck from the kings and queens of dreck, Sony Pictures Animation.

Running on fumes, understandably. There isn't really a lot to go on with something as thin as an old, bare bones mobile game. But for what it is? Not that bad.

This film has a good animation, but in general is too generic and simplistic, with weak and frankly graceless jokes. It's quite clear that this doesn't really have a story and is just a film to make more money out the success of the videogame. Ultimately, The Angry Birds Movie is just irrelevant, with quality elements, but irrelevant anyway.

This movie was alright. It wasn't perfect but it wasn't bad. The character development was cool and it was glad to see a ton of different birds instead of just recolors. The animation is great, and the audio, visuals, and voice acting are good. Children will love this movie. It has a few adult jokes here and there just like every other PG movie, but it was still a good animated movie.

The entire concept of birds sacrificing themselves to knock pigs off construction sets is easily an idea I could have come up with last Friday night at 2:30am after a strong overdose. But who cares, right? That’s what makes Angry Birds so oddly engaging to play! So of course, this is the perfect material to make a motion picture out of! And you know what, The Angry Birds Movie is the most beautiful, most thoughtful experience I’ve ever sat through in a cinema, met with some wonderful characters, hilarious gags, and a message that is suitable for all ages. Ha! Had you there, didn’t I? Gosh, I almost had to force myself to type that. Right from this film’s announcement, I was expecting this movie to be just a series of super unfunny gags only toddlers would find funny, along with a real overused message to make this feel like somewhat of a complete movie. And sure enough, the result met all my expectations to the tee. I mean, come on. I have always enjoyed the iPhone game, but how could a 97-minute story of these birds possibly be decent? Well, just like this: Step 1. You make the main character an underdog with an anger issue who is disrespected by the town. Step 2. You set up his team through an anger management class. Step 3. You introduce the green pigs as the main villains a quarter of the way through the movie. Step 4. You make the main character the only one in the town who knows how to stop these bad pigs. Step 5. You let these bad pigs steal the eggs of the birds in the town in order to eat them. Step 6. You make the town's savior an absolute moron who the main character loses hope in. Step 7. You save the actual game-playing part until the final moments, and only for five minutes tops. Step 8. You throw in puns. Lots and lots of puns. I’ve gone crazy now after hearing, “Happy hatch-day, Pluck my life, Insta-ham, and Kevin Bacon in Hamlet.” But you know what? Toucan play at this. If this movie can go mad with bird and pig puns, so can I! The movie’s egg-selent screenwriter Jon Vitti got his start writing adult comedies such as SNL and The Simpsons, and maybe he should have left his nest there. While he does sprinkle in some jokes that will fly over the kids’ heads, a majority of the humor here is winging it toward the 12 and younger crowd. But maybe that’s not the problem. Maybe the problem is that he wrote out each character rather faithfully to their virtual counterparts, yet entirely unmotivated and all-around fowl. Every bird and pig in this movie is either: A. Useless B. Rude C. Dumb D. All the above Owl go with option D. You know that white egg-shaped bird named Matilda? She’s the teacher of the anger management class now, and is all sweet and calm, despite being an “angry” bird. Then that yellow triangle-shaped bird named Chuck is voiced by Josh Gad, and he is literally Olaf on crack. His best friend is that black bomb bird, and together they are so annoying that you ought to flip the bird at each of them. The enormous bird, named Terence, is the closest thing to funny this movie gets to, and he just flew right by without enough screen time. Then there’s the little blue bird that splits into three, who doesn’t even show up until the end-credits scene. Oh, and I guess there’s Red. Yeah, no comment. The world of these birds is also rather cheep. Basically it is all recreated from the designs in the game as well as the Toon series. I’m sure it is a beautiful and creative world on screen, but I couldn’t exactly tell, as everything in the frame was moving too fast for me to get a good look at the details. But essentially, the most genius thing they come up with is a pregnant bird carrying her egg strapped onto her stomach like a pregnant human. Yeah, seriously—what the duck?! The jokes probably would have quacked me up if the animators actually took a breather in between each pratfall and each piece of rapid-fire dialogue. Also, if some jokes were removed entirely, that would help enormously. By jokes, I mean nipple gags, a bird beating up a statue, a malfunctioning stairway, and an eagle peeing into a pond for a full minute (yes, this movie actually resorts to that hawkward level of humor). Okay fine, maybe there are a few redeeming messages. It does try to affirm that anger is good motivation to fighting for the right causes, but it’s entirely forgotten by the last few moments and is even deliberately mocked by the characters themselves. So yeah, no important values to be found here! I’m talon you, if a movie about the Angry Birds really needed to exist, then it should have be done by artists who actually gave a hoot to the kids and the parents who had the birden of allowing the ticket prices to go on their bill. But even judging by an Angry Birds fan, this movie is not boosting the popularity of the franchise in any way. If anything, it’s just going to hurt the franchise. So stick with the game, there’s no peeing eagles.

The Angry Birds Movie is a coolest movie of the year. The release of the "The Angry Birds Movie" greatly increases Rovio's revenue for this year. This was not always the case. Rovio's revenue has been declining steadily for the past three years. It even reported a loss of $14.5 million last year.

Rovio's mobile game series manages makes the turn to movie form better than the average video game flick. The direction of family-oriented animated movie was a great move. Granted, that was really the only area they could go, but still. The sense of humor is on point for the majority of it's running time. Given the lack of really any sort of narrative in the games, we do get stuck with a chintzy plot and some awkward characters, particularly in the villain department. These pigs are kind of a bland threat. However the movie more than makes up for it due to it's fun, imaginative, and energetic nature. The jokes come a mile a minute. Just about any type of humor you can think of is here. Even some surprisingly mature jokes here and there for the parents. Every now and then some of the more questionable gags will drag on for a bit too long and there's a weird fascination the directors seem to have with their character's butts, but for the most part all of the humor nails the landing. As far as the presentation goes it couldn't be much better. The animation is so stunning that it rivals the best of Pixar and the entire voice cast is almost perfect. The flaw comes from Bill Hader who hams it up (I'm so funny) too much as the main villain. The soundtrack is both surprising in it's choice of songs as it is fantastic. It's a great movie for the kid fans of the game as well as their parents. With plenty of references to the series it's based off of, particularly in the finale, there's enough to bring a smile to the face of the clued in. For those not familiar with the games the hilarity and charm are enough to pull you in. It's got some shortcomings, but in the end these birds really soar.
