A solid effort. if you are looking for realistic depictions of an otherwise anonymous and cloaked fraternity like AA then this is your movie. Several true to life depictions of life in a halfway house also really hit the mark for me.
Knoxville is understated and excellent as are a terrific supporting cast. Mohr was authentic and at his best speaking to the group.
The "save the halfway house" story line using proceeds from a softball tourney was a poor platform on which to build the characters - it just seemed ill-placed - but it was not overdone. Not bringing back Theo Vonn's character who left the halfway house mid-movie was one of the Director's bravest decision. He could have used his return to help the softball story line but resisted the temptation in order to stay true to the reality of the spectral nature of addicts. Some of the music was poignant.
