Seed of Chucky

Rudely funny splatter comedy.

Recommended for the toothsome Jennifer Tilly, the manic Billy Boyd, some inventive deaths, some inspired gore, and one frankly hilarious scene involving Tilly and a decapitated corpse.

This movie is about the opposite of political correctness. It's about rooting for the bad guy and the black ending, and shouting at the screen whenever you feel like it. If you like that sort of thing, go see it. If you don't, then don't.

Horror fans will be appalled by the frivolity of the beheadings, amputations and blunt-force trauma. But when Tilly, complaining about all the good roles going to Julia Roberts, says she could have played Erin Brockovich and done it without the Wonderbra, you know you're into something almost inspired.

The film mostly shoots blanks; it's less than the sum of its in-jokes.

Chintzy-looking gore-bore.

Were there an award for most bizarre and dispiriting comedy-horror hybrid featuring killer dolls, the latest installment in the "Child's Play" series would have it locked up.

unironcally my favorite movie in the chucky series so far. **** did nothing wrong.

The whole series is my guilty pleasure. Actually,I LOVED Bride of Chucky. Not because it was scary,but because it was hilarious. I have not a single clue why this doll, voiced expertly by the respected Brad Dourif, has captured my fantasy and gaze. Perhaps because it is ridiculous, edgy, and at times there are some one liners that I have laughed over for hours on end, Seed is more of the black sheep of the series. It's comedic, but it's also not very well directed which is explained by Don Mancini, the creator/director. As much as I love the whole Tiffany/Chucky already married and having a baby, I felt there could have more to really sink some teeth into. I am not ashamed to admit it, this is a fun ride if you're able to look past the film's flaws. Ordinarily, I would suggest not viewing it at all, but if you have a love for the series (especially if you love Brad Dourif's work) it's certainly worth a look. I'll come back to view this every once in a while.

I didn’t like the Hollywood/making a fake movie setting. It’s not as entertaining as Bride of Chucky (1998). I actually really like the character of Glen. The characters of Chucky and Tiffany are really entertaining again. The casting is not as good, Hannah Spearritt cannot act is the worst but Redman was also kinda annoying. At least we have fun kills. For all that happens it is a bit slow and sometimes repetitive. I just didn’t engage with Seed because I didn’t like the setting or the concept. It’s the weakest so far but averagely entertaining nonetheless.

En general las películas de terror resultan desagradables, inapropiadas y son un tipo de contenido que debería ser prohibido y eliminado en las películas y bastantes series de televisión, y las de Chucky tienen algo de sangre y resulta medio feo, y con algunas escenas inapropiadas que pueden resultar cochinas, recomiendo nunca ver ni una cosa ni la otra, vean cosas buenas y agradables porque para entretenimiento hay videojuegos, competiciones, deportes, ánime, y caricaturas, de lo bueno hay mucho para elegir así que eviten basuras, nada de Saw, Chucky, etc.

This film could've worked if Chucky wasn't jerking off, driving a car, and killing Britney Spears. There's also a lot of sexual comedy, which is uncomfortable and annoying. Then there's Glenn pissing his pants, ugh. This film could've worked if they didn't make stupid writing decisions. And this film looks like a cheap, direct to video product, which is ironic as this was the last theatrically released Chucky film.
