RoboCop 3 is junk food, but it's tasty none the less. [05 Nov 1993, p.D37]

The familiarity of the high-armour shoot-outs and sfx-assisted set-pieces make most of this sequel feel surprisingly low-tech. Not bad entertainment, though.

Good moral of the story, cheesy 90's ending. I really don't know why it has such a low rating.

not even close to living up to its hype. Yes, it's a tiny bit better than the original, but it's still far superior to the second movie, which I always thought was incredibly cruel. This film feels more similar to Verhoven's original than the second one and has an unexpectedly large amount of heart. Not too seriously, please.

The show has its moments-some funny scenes, some wild stop-motion Phil Tippett computer action, some of Torn's scenery-chewing. But they're only moments. RoboCop 3's main problem is that nobody fouled up its program. It's a RoboMovie. [05 Nov 1993, p.C]

There's probably sufficient energy and violence in RoboCop 3 to satisfy undemanding action fans, but it's as mechanical as its cyborg hero.

This latest widget off the RoboCop assembly line is a bit better than the first sequel, which amounts to damnation with faint praise. Limiting the gore, but not the carnage, in pursuit of a PG-13 rating and more youngsters, pic remains a cluttered, nasty exercise that seems principally intent on selling action figures.

As for the conflict, it's hardly riveting and often it's downright silly. The sets and effects betray their downsized budget. And the Japanese bashing is less artful than in Rising Sun, though just as obnoxious.

About as two-dimensional as a comic book, RoboCop 3 should be regarded as the last strike-out.

Robocop 3 is divisive for several reasons, some don't like the jetpack, some don't like the Japanese robots, and some don't like the pink Cadillac. My stance is that the jetpack is cool but not overblown, one **** robot was fine but 3 dragged the film down, and the Cadillac was just nonsense that never should have been there. The film also restores a lot of the gravitas of the original Robocop but where the script steers straight off of a sheer cliff face is having 3 Japanese robots rather than the mercs as the main antagonist. These flaws aside if you can look past these problems there is a good film here where once again Peter Wellers performance is great.

By far the worst in the series story wise and it feels the most messy in basically every other way

This was so disappointing!!!! Robocop 1 and 2 were amazing and this is no where close to those movies.
