What keeps Phone Booth going, despite its premise, is the acting and the writing, both of which are top-notch.

The movie is essentially a morality play, and it's not a surprise to learn that Larry Cohen, the writer, came up with the idea 20 years ago--when there were still phone booths and morality plays.

Guy stuck in a phone booth for 90 minutes somehow makes a hella interesting movie

New York Post
A tabloidy, nail-biting thriller.
63
USA Today
Superficially gritty yet soullessly slick melodrama.
50
Miami Herald
Loud and frantic and filled with all sorts of business, but it's also empty and inert, a creative exercise that would have played better as a 30-minute short.
40
Los Angeles Times
Without question, the whole thing's absurd -- this is, remember, about a guy stuck in a phone booth -- but for its first 40 minutes or so it's also mildly entertaining, fueled by the nuttiness of the setup and Schumacher's energy.

The New York Times
Bogus on every level, right down to its half-hearted trick ending.

Phone Booth is one of the best chamber thrillers I've seen. I am very surprised that Colin Farrel was able to cope with such a difficult role. It's clearly one of his best jobs of his career. The Phone Booth has an excellent level of suspense, almost the benchmark for a thriller. This is a vivid example of the fact that for a good thriller you need not so much, enough interesting dialogue and one place

The acting in this movie was on point, the movie was entertaining and tense and Colin Farrell was simply brilliant in his role.Phone Booth is simply one of the finest movie about a killer on the phone.

With the restrictions of the phone booth, Joel Schumacher does a fine job of stylish direction and brevity. Colin Farrell may just give the performance of his entire career.

"Phonebooth" demonstrates that Director Joel Schumacher, despite the massive Cliches and disjointed script he created, can actually direct decent movies.

Ortalama ve altı seviyede bir yapım. Biraz daha üzerine düşünülmek istiyor yapım.
