An extremely dumb slop film, Disney must take this repugnant garbage and learn from their mistakes.

Fly away! This is our introduction & how we see what Peter Pan is like. I love its iconic characters: Tinkerbell is such a cartoonist mood known for fairy dust also reading around, which is used to fly. Captain Hook is menacing yet still hilarious: he gets sensitive about his lost watch & the ticking crocodile. Well, you can tell the other pirates actually do not like him when they have a target modelled on him. The atmosphere is sweet: a place where there are mermaids where Wendy wanted to play; there are pirates & indians* just like John & Michael had imagined in their stories. *Now, the scene of the Indians & Tiger Lily might not age well due to being racist stereotypes but if you are tired of wokeness, who cares?

The highlight of the entire experience is undoubtedly the scene where Michael, the cute youngest member of the group, unexpectedly shouts, "Chop them into pieces!" This shocking contrast between his innocent appearance and his brutal words creates a moment that is both captivating and disturbing. Despite such striking individual scenes, the overall execution felt lacking, as the narrative struggled to maintain that same level of intensity throughout. It effectively uses the veneer of innocence to mask a sinister core, making those specific outbursts of violence stand out as the most memorable, albeit harrowing, parts of the movie.

Peter Pan is a bit of a mixed back in terms of both animation quality and story telling, and as a result, it's not quite up their with the top tier animated Disney movies.

A Classic That Shows Its Age Chapter 1: The Magic of Flight (and Childhood Adventure) There’s no denying that Peter Pan captures something essential about childhood—the longing for freedom, imagination, and the refusal to grow up. From the moment Peter and the Darling children soar over London to the stars, the movie casts a spell. The idea of Neverland, a place where pirates, fairies, and mermaids coexist, is pure fantasy gold. It’s no wonder this story became such a cultural cornerstone. Chapter 2: Timeless Animation, Timid Depth The animation still holds up surprisingly well. The watercolor backgrounds, the expressive character animation, and the overall color palette give Peter Pan a dreamy, timeless quality. Tinker Bell, in particular, is an animation triumph—her personality comes through without a single line of dialogue. Captain Hook is also a fun villain, more ridiculous than truly menacing, but entertaining in his cowardice and flair.That said, visually beautiful doesn’t always mean emotionally deep. The movie stays very much on the surface. It’s a fun adventure, but it lacks the emotional weight that Disney would start to develop more in later films like The Lion King or Beauty and the Beast. Chapter 3: Characters Who Don’t Quite Fly Peter himself is a bit of a mixed bag. He’s charismatic and fearless, sure, but also cocky, impulsive, and sometimes just plain mean. He lacks the emotional arc that would make him truly memorable. Wendy, meanwhile, is more interesting—torn between fantasy and maturity—but the movie doesn’t give her enough time to **** Lost Boys are one-note. The mermaids are oddly cruel. Even Tinker Bell, as iconic as she is, mostly functions as a jealous sidekick rather than a true character. Chapter 4: Problematic Legacy Let’s address the elephant in the room: the film’s depiction of Native Americans is, frankly, offensive. Even for its time, it plays into lazy stereotypes and includes a song that’s aged incredibly poorly. It’s one of those moments that pulls you out of the story completely. While the film is a product of its era, that doesn’t excuse the way it handles this material, and it’s a serious mark against it today. Chapter 5: A Film Caught Between Worlds Peter Pan feels torn between two tones: whimsical adventure and awkward humor. Some moments are lovely and filled with wonder, while others just feel dated or clunky. It’s clear the movie aims to celebrate imagination and innocence, but its execution is uneven. Final Thoughts There’s still charm in Peter Pan, and for many, it’s a nostalgic favorite. The idea of Neverland and the desire to never grow up still resonate. But as a film, it hasn’t aged as gracefully as other Disney classics. It’s fun, beautifully animated, and iconic—but it’s also shallow in character and marred by outdated cultural portrayals. 6/10 – A visually lovely adventure that’s equal parts wonder and wear.

Now this is more like it. A timeless fairy tale, animated with passion and enthusiasm by the fabulous Disney old-timers (this would be the last time the "nine old men" collaborated on a film), trimmed of fat and hoisted, wriggling and fighting, onto the silver screen. Every frame is alive, ecstatic and energetic, with a heavy emphasis on stylized action and far less of the obvious frame-traced roto-scoping seen in Snow White or Cinderella. Loaded with garish personality and iconic character designs, Peter Pan is effortlessly magical, jolly and carefree; enduring in many of the same ways as The Wizard of Oz. Breathless and mischievous, it's perhaps a bit old-fashioned, though such genuine wholesomeness never really goes out of fashion, provided it comes from the heart. The opening act may take a little while to get moving, but once the kids are sprinkled with pixie dust and the whole crew takes flight, it's nonstop action and adventure to the very end. I forgot how much of a feisty, jealous little thing Tinkerbell could be.

The movie features great character design, a good script, and excellent voice acting. The characters are very unique in their style, including even the side characters like Nana and the crocodile. In this film, there are no strictly good or bad characters; instead, they all display a range of emotions, including love, anger, sympathy, and jealousy. You really come to love Neverland, as well as Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, Captain Hook, and the Lost Boys. Wendy is charming and innocent, caring much like a mother. The expressions of Hook, Smee, and Tinkerbell are well animated, and Tinkerbell’s pixie dust effects are also impressive. The pirates are hilarious and goofy, and the Red Men are cool. The Darling siblings, John and Michael, are adorable, and the portrayal of Michael’s teddy bear deserves special mention. The music is decent, with the songs, especially "Following the Leader" and "What Made the Red Man Red," sticking in your head. Slapstick comedy works really well, especially in the scenes involving Hook, Smee, and the crocodile, and timing is excellent, and the chemistry between these characters is brilliant. Even though the source material is somewhat dark, the filmmakers did a wonderful job making the film more enjoyable and funny, resulting in a better adaptation. Another movie that is infected by the value of my childhood. And not only mine, also those of many who gave this a review. I also had it on VHS back then. But it was a lot funnier.I saw 'Peter Pan' again last week and my adult look on this is not that funny anymore. If the morale is interesting in a sense but feels like encouraging grown-ups to be moody and loony. I enjoy how 'Peter Pan' questions our relation to rules and society. But how far? The end is a bit disappointing as a lot seems to be lacking compared to the whole lore. Fortunately there a lot of other Peter Pan movies to embellish this universe, 'Hook' being on top of **** scenario appear to be relly poor in the end. Like a series of side-quests and partially related events. Characters are quite intersting, especially Captain Hook and Mr Smee while Peter Pan looks like a selfish one-dimensioned protagonist.Soundtrack is great, with a lot of entertaining, catchy tunes.

After Rating the Recent Live action movie, I started watching the original Peter Pan movie. Still to this day, it is an excellent watch. While at some points of the animation, it can be very still(Nothing is happening besides talking), the rest of the film is fun, sometimes when Captain Hook is on the screen you feel a sense of dread and fear. Other than that, the film is charming, well animated and just overall lovely to view, all the characters are interesting, and you can understand from the get-go the personalities of each character. Absolutely wonderful, how Disney screwed up the live-action film(Well I know how)is beyond science. I am a **** for animation, I grew up we these and while for this review I am not relying on Nostalgia, I actually compared the scenes from the original to the Live Action. The original animation is Vastly Superior. I will definitely make sure that my children watch these when they are still young so they can just have the best memories of animated films possible.

Peter Pan is an inspiring story that proves that disney isn't doing well today

Peter Pan is a very good movie indeed, which is more to be said for its sequel, which I think is one of the worst Disney sequels. While enormously entertaining especially with Hook and the crocodile, it lacks the complexity of the book. However, the animation is beautiful, especially our first look at Neverland and the Mermaid Lagoon. The songs are also lovely, especially "2nd Star to the Right" and "You can Fly". I loved the characters. Peter and the Darlings were well done, as well as the lost Boys. I also loved Tinker Bell, and Captain Hook, who was a great villain, until the sequel ruined him. If you want a more complex Hook, try Tim Curry's Hook in the animated TV series Peter Pan and the Pirates, which I personally think should be brought back. Captain Hook was wonderful here, in the series, and Jason Issac's interpretation of the character isn't to be missed either. 9/10 Bethany Cox. PS. I loved the crocodile!

He visto las películas de Disney desde que tengo memoria y la gran mayoría me ha encantado, no puedo decir lo mismo de Peter Pan, respeto que es un clásico y su estatus de culto, pero para mi no fue gran cosa.

Flies High Peter Pan is definitely a really great Disney movie with a lot of memorable moments.

Am I the only one who hates this movie? Because I really do and I feel very alone on this.

The story of Peter Pan is the most wonderful stories in the history. Peter Pan is the boy who never grew up and the lost boys. The characters are likeable, Wendy's parents, our hero Peter Pan, Wendy, John, Michael, The Lost Boys, Tinkerbell, Tick Tock the crocodile and one of my favourite evil villians Captain Hook. He's one of the most funniest and vicious villians ever. Hook and Smee makes me laugh every time I watch it. I actually did own this on VHS that was years ago when I was child. My best friend Nathan Tolson is a fan of Peter Pan, he plays the good guy and I played the bad guy and we were non stop quoting the lines from this amazing Disney movie. Nathan likes me being chased by Tick Tock the crocodile which Captain Hook has a fear on him. The funny scene I laughed at is a scene where Peter Pan distracts Captain Hook by echoing the caves and tells Mr Smee to release Tiger Lily and take her back to her people by pretending to be Captain Hook and shouts understand and that really makes me laugh non stop. There are also live action versions of Peter Pan like the who stars Dustin Hoffman and Robin Williams which that my friend Nathan watch as well. And the 2003 version which stars Jason Issacs and I also love that. Me and Nathan have enjoyed this Disney classic so much. You know what they say when you see a crocodile? Never smile at the crocodile.

This movie had shown the character I have always wanted to be- a character with freedom, no school and be young forever. I really like the character much more than the movie. The movie wasn't bad though. It was really funny for me and I like many parts of it
