A slick, upbeat Church of Latter Day Saints-backed documentary that aims to answer the image of the church and its members “shaped by the media and popular culture.”

You'd learn a lot more if you went out and, well, actually met a Mormon.

I absolutely LOVE this movie! I think it does a great job of showing how Mormons live day to day. And, it is such a diverse documentary, showing the lives of people who have been through a wide variety of struggles and experiences. This movie really puts Mormons out there: it shows us the lives of people who we can all relate to in some way. And, most importantly, it really is a movie about love, service, devotion, and Christ-like qualities.

Amazing! Inspirational! The best movie ever! I cried, I laughed, I cried again! Wayyy better than the Passion Of The Christ - I mean WHAT was THAT movie all about? (I'm a Mormon)

Essentially a feature-length advertisement for the Mormon Church which makes AT&T's "Reach Out and Touch Someone" TV commercials seem edgy by comparison, Meet the Mormons is strictly for the converted.

The film operates under the assumption that the average Joe associates Mormonism more with "Sister Wives" than Mitt Romney, so the film will be an eye-opener only for subscribers to such stereotypes.

The narration promises surprises (“This story may challenge what you think you know about the roles men and women play in Mormon homes”), but the movie might have started by examining its straw-man conception of the audience.

Meet the Mormons isn't substantial enough to screen on the first day of LDS 101; the church's most basic tenets — and controversial aspects — are elided completely.

The movie was excellent! Excellent quality. Inspirational. It was about the lives of devout members, half or more who were converts to the faith. Obviously, the movie is a teaser, seeking to pike the interest of others who may want to know more -- others of a like nature to those in the movie. Well done!

Inspiring. Uplifting. Amazing cinematography. Excellent music. Riveting stories. I laughed and cried multiple times. I know the critics have been panning this film as an "infomercial", but how do stories of peoples lives that are currently and have historically had an influence for good rate as a commercial? It's not trying to convert anyone. It's just saying- "here we are and this is what we believe."

A feature-length commercial for the LDS Church. Would you watch a feature-length commercial for McDonald's or AT&T? Because that's what this is, and it's as boring as it sounds.

You would have a better time watching paint dry. Or if you're interested in mormonism, there is a great PBS documentary you can watch online at their website.

To be blunt, the reason that most of these users are posting glowing reviews of "Meet the Mormons" is because the Mormon "prophets" have commanded them to see the film and promote it as much as possible to their friends and to boost its ratings online. It's a feature-length "I'm A Mormon" commercial to improve the brand image of the Mormon Church by making their members look super diverse, exciting, and fun. If that is what you like, go see this movie.
