SummaryThe filming of the ill-fated 1996 version of H. G. Welles’ The Island of Dr. Moreau is the stuff of legend. For the first time since he was unceremoniously escorted off his longtime dream project, Richard Stanley reveals in detail his spectacular original vision and how it was all ripped apart at the seams.

The film is at its best when cutting between delicious stories... It doesn’t make for the strongest film, but it does work like a case of people swapping outrageous war stories over a few beers.

The richness of the tale told here makes this competently packaged feature a keeper nonetheless.

I had already read a lot of what is talked about in this documentary, so it doesn't surprise me, although for those interested it will be quite informative. The anecdotes and what they show about the vision that Richard Stanley had for the film are enough to keep you entertained but you must have definitely seen the film and especially to be interested in the topic because otherwise, you'll just be wasting your time.
