SummaryA sexy horror film with a wicked sense of humor, Jennifer's Body is about small town high school student Jennifer, who is possessed by a hungry demon. She transitions from being "high school evil" - gorgeous (and doesn't she know it), stuck up and ultra-attitudinal - to the real deal: evil/evil. The glittering beauty becomes a pale and sickly cre... Read More

The difference between “Juno” and Jennifer’s Body, I realized, was that Diablo Cody's disgustingly smug dialogue -- supposedly so winning when spoken by Juno -- is much easier to swallow when it comes from characters who actually are disgustingly smug -- like Jennifer.

The movie deserves -- and is likely to win -- a devoted cult following, despite its flaws.

The film blends Coming Of Age comedy and Horror so well that is deserves some type of reward.

This film had a female-dominated cast and crew so that's why the misogynists hated it. I watched this back in fifth grade and I didn't understand the references and concepts. But watching this at 22 I get it! The tables turned and the sexist society can't deal with a strong female lead. They marketed this film as a raunchy high school sex monster plot when it's really a **** plot. This was a brief review of societal issues that the youth face - sexual misconduct, gender roles and sexuality confusion, etc. 2009 really did Megan Fox wrong. Her acting as a flesh-eating bisexual demon was excellent. We need more films that depict young women's relationships. Dark humor and iconic soundtrack are timeless. People hate terrorized and powerless men but if it's women victims this film would get critics applauding.

Fox is fun as a demonic harpy, but sadly the meeting of Hollywood’s two rock’n’roll queens is closer to safe studio product than slash-and-burn envelope-pusher.

The one perfect aspect of Jennifer's Body is its title: No one is going to like this movie for its brain.

The Hollywood Reporter
A campy pastiche of horror and high-school movie cliches, the film only rises above standard-issue scare fare by dint of Cody's sneaky sense of humor.

Boston Globe
Jennifer’s Body falls into the dispiriting category of dumb movies made by smart people, in this case a glibly clever writer and a talented director who think a few wisecracks are enough to subvert the teen horror genre.

Village Voice
This is the sophomore production from "Juno" screenwriter Diablo Cody, similarly told through ultra-stylized slangy teen dialogue, which is cool, in theory, in the way it respects the verbal resourcefulness of idle flyover kids, but is excruciating to listen to in actual fact.

One of the best films ever. My favorite actress Megan Fox is perfect for the role of Jennifer. One of the most underrated films of all time actually one of the most beautiful horror films and one of the sexiest films.

Was soll ich sagen? Es ist ein ziemlich durchschnittlicher Film, ehrlich gesagt. Ich würde ihm heute eine schwache 6 von 10 geben. Vielleicht wäre sogar eine 5 ehrlicher. Man kann ihn sich trotzdem anschauen und unterhalten lassen – er ist ziemlich unterhaltsam und „bissig“ auf seine Weise. Aber ich tendiere eher zu 6 Punkte von 10

This teen horror-comedy deserves a small amount of praise for its originality and refreshing female perspective. It revolves around the relationship of two besties/frenemies, one of whom is outgoing and sultry, and the other who is clever and reserved, whose relationship progressively disintegrates after one of them is assaulted, and worse.

After hearing lately about how Jenifer's Body had arisen from the dead as a kind of cult hit, I decided to give it a shot. I wish I hadn't. It tries to be a horror film at times, but it's not scary. It tries to be a comedy at times, but it's just unfocused. I suppose it is different enough to attract the attention of those wanting something different, but like the goth kids the movie mocks in a scene, just because you're different, it doesn't mean you're any good.

2 girls are best friends in high school and do a lot of things together, one is more like the hot one that wants to have sex all the time apprantely and the other seems to be more of a different girl. In one very day they decide to go to a place for a show and by the consequences of the actions one of them, Jennifer, ends up in a complicated situation that changes her somehow, and after that, something start living inside of her and needs to be feeded by human meat. Directed by Karyn Kusama. The idea of this movie is kind of interesting, like a person that uses the sensuality to call people to some place and get what it needs, it isn't a bad idea, the problem is that it is just that, it doesn't have anything around it, for example, back in the day when people asked me to watch Breaking Bad, i was like "nah, it is just an simple drug show" and after i watch it all, it was great, because it had a whole concept behind that, a whole world and events with characters that are so great and got me 100% invested in that story, but here it doesn't have that universe behind it, it is just a girl attracting guys with her sexuality, it is that silly, the stories that happen around this don't help to construct anything, and definely aren't that interesting at all, if this was a romance movie between the character of Amanda and Johnny, this definely would have been better. One situation here is that the two main characters are apparently best friends, and i didn't bought that even for a second, they are so different, i don't see why one would friend of the other, they just don't combine in any possible way. The movie have some moments doens't make sense ,like, how some characters went from one place to the other. The movie does have some comical moments, aren't the funniest thing in the world, but still can take a little laugh out, and these moments are mainly with the character Chip. Another bad thing here, is that you don't care about almost any character with except of one, literally, don't give a damn about almost all of them, this is a problem because at some parts of the movie they try to put some emotional moments, taking it really serious, and it just doesn't work because you don't care about who died or anything. There are moments that don't make sense, some crucial moments that are solved by things that don't make any possible sense. The movie tries to sell itself on Megan Fox charisma and sexiness, but i gotta say that it didn't get any close to work on, because first, the character Jennifer, is a complete jerk, second of all, Megan Fox acting is terrible, she just can't express anything, she looked like a door in this movie almos all the time, you can't tell anything by how she interprets, it was that bad, in the side of sexuality, it may have worked, but considering her door face, it didn't convinced me in anyway. Amanda Seyfried is by far the one who did the best job here, and when i mean "by far", i mean it, she convinced me in that weird way, she was cute and at the same time could have me engaged in her beliefs, in what she do. Johnny Simmons character isn't bad, he speaks with a low voice and seems to be shy, in comic moments he totally delievered. Chris Pratt and J.K. Simmons are also in this movie, they don't have much to do, but i thinks it worths the mention, J.K. Simmons character have a hook in the place of his hand, that was pretty cool. The montage in this movie had some really high moments and some really low. The interesting part felt a little like a Edgar Wright movie, like characters narrating an story while it happens, or characters that show up out of nowhere in a non serious way is pretty cool, there are some camera moviment that work really well together with some songs, it is almost epic. But in other hand, there are some sequences that it is dramatic, for example, and right into it they put a big hevy metal song that doesn't fit in any way with the scene and also is very anticlimatic. The movie is very divided in comedy, dramatic and horror moments, and one feels completely different then the other, almos like other movie, but ok. The movie have very much two thriller moments, one of them actually worked well, it had some nice construction of scenes, not very complex, but still good. This movie isn't good, the most part of the acting is that bad, the story is silly, the montage have some good moments, the conclusion you maybe like it, but still, it wasn't for me.
