Jeepers Creepers

Salva's view of the universe is bleak, but he communicates it with scary sincerity.

The movie is good enough to put a chill into the late-summer air. Salva has nasty surprises in the grim, minor-key last third, during which the feeling dawns on you that sleep for the next few nights won't come easily.

Horror fans will still find it worthwhile. The ending is also a nice twist on the slasher genre.

It does survive its 40-minute test drive before turning into a lemon.

Gets off to a great start and then simply shuts down, like an awesome vintage car on an ambitious road trip.

The limp script actually has the characters spout ''Let's get outta here!'' more than once. Or maybe that's just a wise member of the audience talking.

This tripe, however, isn't worth your time or our ink.

Jeepers Creepers! The cult classic horror film from the early 2000's starring Gina Phillips and Justin Long. Is there anything to say at this point about this piece of History? I believe I can only try to make it justice by saying if it holds up or not in **** film follows brothers Darry and Trish travelling back to their parents house, supposed to be a long ride. Along the way, they spot a weird person dumping packages down a pipe, packages that resemble bodies. This sets a chain of events in motion that is going to change their lives forever.I miss how stories would pop out of mundane events, whole arcs could develop out of simple what-if scenarios. What if you spotted someone disposing of their murdered victims? Add a spicy twist to this mix and you got yourselves a watchable story — at least a good ****, it is far-fetched, sure. A lot of stretching-of-reality happens to support the beats and plot points. It is clichés galore for anyone that likes these older movies.Jeepers Creepers is entertaining but weak in the horror aspect. Some jumpscares might get you, but you will only feel scared if you are like 5 or something. I like, though, how they kept things practical — something we miss these **** — jeepers creepers! — we know the film was successful enough to spawn a whole franchise. So in the "it worked" department, Jeepers Creepers **** 2026, though, I would say watch it only if you are rewatching or getting up to speed with the franchise to watch some of the latest movies, or you are just a horror junkie.

Great lead cast and acting, the supporting cast are not great, Patricia Belcher was especially bad. This is my second favourite Justin Long movie after Drag Me to Hell (2009). I actually really like the writing and it is beautifully shot. It pretty much defines bad decisions and incomprehensible motivation. There are so many flaws but it’s so fun. It reminds me of the Wrong Turn (2003) franchise, fun but terrible. Weirdly it also reminds me of Howling VI: The Freaks (1991). The CGI was really well done. The final act is so entertaining. Not good but fun.

You can't help but laugh at the creature in Jeepers Creepers. The first half an hour is pretty promising but then it just gets ridiculous. The movie has zero scares and not even a shock ending. A very ineffective horror movie.

In what can best be described as a predictable horror movie that heavily features the trope of "protagonists making the dumbest decisions so that the rest of the movie can happen", Jeepers Creepers is one of the most bafflingly bad 1st installments in a successful franchise.
