It's not enough to say that Inglourious Basterds is Quentin Tarantino's best movie. It's the first movie of his artistic maturity, the film his talent has been promising for more than 15 years.

Tarantino exercises both his obsession with vengeance and his fascination with the movies.

This movie is one of the best I've ever seen, and let's just say, you would have to be **** for this movie not to be impressively engaging.

The explosive brilliance of Tarantino’s historical reimagining: A 5.0-star masterpiece of visceral genius.2009 (5.0)I watched this in the theater back in 2009, and it was impossible not to fall completely in love with a film as brilliant as this—Tarantino is a true genius. The experience was incredibly thrilling; there is just no other way to describe that "chewy" surge of excitement it delivered. What is truly amazing is that even if you aren't deeply familiar with the specific historical background, the film’s sheer energy and sensational execution make it pulse with life. Every scene was crafted with such wit and high-tension rhythm that I felt entirely immersed in his bold, reimagined world. It was a perfect 5.0-star encounter that reminded me why I love cinema: the ability to take the past and turn it into something so raw, electrifying, and unforgettable. This film remains one of the most "sensational" milestones in my archive, capturing that rare feeling of being witness to a filmmaker at the absolute peak of his creative powers.

With a confidence typical of its director, the last line of Inglourious Basterds is, "This might just be my masterpiece." While that may not be true, this is an often dazzling movie that sees QT back on exhilarating form.

Tarantino has already caught some flack for daring to use the Holocaust as material for another of his bloody live-action cartoons, but of course the generation that experienced it for real has mostly faded away. In that sense Inglourious Basterds is a social marker as startling as "Easy Rider" was in its day.

Austin Chronicle
For all its stylistic flourishes and interlocking storylines, Inglourious Basterds is, at its bullet-riddled core, a bloody good war movie, twisting and twisted and full of wordy shrapnel but no less kickass for it.

Mostly, though, there is Landa, whose unctuous charm, beautifully modulated by Mr. Waltz, gives this unwieldy, dragging movie a much-needed periodic jolt.

Baltimore Sun
The only hope for Inglourious Basterds is that audiences will embrace it the way the Broadway crowd did "Springtime for Hitler": because it's so bad they think it's good.

First of all, I loved the direction, cinematography, and editing. Christoph Waltz, as Hans Landa, gives an incredible performance; He steals every scene and is easily one of the best villains I’ve seen in any film. The dialogues are very well written. Tarantino’s direction and camera work make every shot look amazing and give the film a distinct cinematic feel. Some scenes are exceptionally well shot and directed. For example, the “Jew-hunting” sequence, the basement climax, and others. At times, the story feels a bit uneven, but it doesn’t spoil the fun. Overall, Inglourious Basterds is a movie I’d recommend to anyone who loves thrilling stories and strong characters.

Kesinlikle kötü bir film değil ama pekte sevemedim bu filmi. Üstelik kaç defa izlememe rağmen. Yine de hala daha izlenebilecek, kaliteli yapımlardan...

I`m one of the people who did not get the memo that we all should praise this movie to high heavens because its Tarantino's baby. I like his previous movies, a lot in fact. Pulp Fiction is one of my favorite movies of all time. But I dont get Inglorious Basterds at all. Tarantino drags the story through painfully long and pretentious dialogue that is not funny or interesting. It sometimes works in his movies, this time it doesn't. Its not a war movie, its not a comedy, nor a thriller. Its just... Tarantino. It has its moments but unlike most of his movies this one is easily forgettable.
