This is one of the best movies of 2012. With rich performances, a riveting and articulate screenplay, meticulous direction and enough grounded emotional intensity to keep your pulse pounding, Hitchcock grabs you by the lapels like a suspense classic by Hitch himself - a knockout from start to finish.

Hitchcock isn't ambitious or complicated. It's simple, does what it sets out to do, and gets out before anyone even thinks about checking the time. More movies should be made in its image.

As watching a movie about Alfred Hitchcock's Ideas and how he brought pyscho to the movie theatres and how he sees his ideas on the picture . Anthony hopkins is great at playing Hitchcock and so as Helen Mirren as the supporting , Jealous wife . This movie is amazing and a good movie .

Personally, I hate biographies, I watched because I wanted to know more about Alfred and his masterpieces, how he does it? I learned a lot about him, he was crazy about Psycho. As a movie it is entertaining and funny, and what makes it perfect, is the acting, Mirren and Hopkins are wonderful, with some great chemistry between them. I loved it is by far, one of the greatest biographies ever told, and it is one excellent movie.

Hitchcock is, well, fun. More fun than good, really. It feels weird to call it a disappointment, because it is entertaining. But you can't help feeling a little shortchanged on the deep-thinking front.

This film is more a love story about the marriage between Hitchcock (Anthony Hopkins) and his wife, Alma Reville (Helen Mirren), rather than a historically accurate backstage look at the making of this important movie in the Hitchcock filmography and the American psyche.

Hitchcock is a diverting but dramatically insipid account of how the Master of Suspense took his biggest gamble and delivered his greatest success with "Psycho."

A good bio that doesn't bore the hell out of you, not it is funny and keeps you interesting the whole watch and it is appropriate for all ages to get to know one of the greatest directors of all time.

I was in need of some light entertainment and that's exactly what I got. - great performances, especially Helen Mirren
- lots of visual clues taken from Hitchcock's pictures
- I liked that this film focuses more on the relationship between Hitchcock and Alma Reville, and tries to dive deeper into Hitch's psyche
- I didn't like how rushed and shallow the result was All in all: entertaining but rushed and a too shallow, I am curious to read the book though

An interesting take on the creation of an American classic. Although, the film lacks a certain niche which made Hitchcock films so powerful. Nevertheless, Helen Mirren and Anthony Hopkins' performances are able to elevate the film to a higher level.

As lightweight and featherlike a it is, is still a good film. Anthony Hopkins does portray the master of suspense pretty well, and Helen Mirren is likable in her role. The film is smooth for the most part, but drags a little bit. It could've been better, yes, but it still was acceptable nonetheless.
